    Crabmeat Salad Roll

I have been wanting to try this place since they opened. Their photos look really amazing so we thought we would try it out. Overall, it was okay. The sizes are quite generous. We got kani salads, honey roll, and crabmeat salad roll (4 items- total $50) The kani salad was much bigger than I expected. It was a legit salad, not like the small crab/kani and cucumber covered in sauce you would normally get. It sat on a large bed of argula and some kind of shredded red stuff- maybe beats? Idk. It also came with avocado and mango chunks. It was a nice looking salad- just not what I was expecting. The rolls were large- but just alright in flavor. The rice wasn't mushy or hard, it felt like the right texture. With all the flavors it came with, I thought I would like them much more. The crabmeat inside the roll kinda just tasted like canned tuna. It was too fishy tasting for my liking. The texture of the kani was rather hard. I did not enjoy the texture of the kani in any of the dishes that we ordered. The honey roll was also just alright. The veggies all seemed fresh so that's good. Lastly, the soy sauce seemed watered down.. Maybe in the future I will try some of the basic rolls instead of the ones with a lot going on. The man inside seemed friendly. The place seemed clean and well maintained too.

Found this little gem in teaneck, my favorite new sushi spot, service was incredibly great and the food was even more amazing, 5/5.

We were lucky enough to stop by and try several different rolls (and some off-menu items too!) and it was truly some of the best sushi we've ever had! This family-owned business is literally a "mom & pop" shop where Mom is the chef and Dad is the sushi man, bringing over 40 years of experience to the table! Nabi translates to Butterfly - an appropriate name for a place that creates such beautiful dishes Give them a follow and stop by the hottest new sushi spot (dine-in, takeout, or catering) before the secret gets out! Had an amazing meal here! The staff was super friendly and accommodating and made some great recommendations! The sushi was presented beautifully and was super fresh. We tried the Grand Canyon Roll, Crabmeat Salad Roll, Teaneck Roll & Dragon Roll! I loved the Crabmeat Salad Roll, it was sooo good! The Beef Bulgogi box was also delicious and the bacon fried rice that came with it was amazing! I will definitely be back soon!

Solid spot. if your getting sushi in teaneck, this is it.

My dining partner and I were seated rather quickly. Our server took our drink orders and came back promptly so we could order our food. The menu is pretty extensive but we ordered an assortment of skewers and a bowl of ramen to share. The skewers came out little by little; about 3 skewers per plate. They didn't come all at once so I assume they bring them out as they finish getting grilled. The chicken heart was some of the best I've ever had. I'm not sure if it's the way it was sliced, the seasoning, or just everything about it but I wish we ordered more. The tail skewer was another standout. It had so much crunch that it was almost like it was fried. The flavors were rich and varied. Each skewer cost upwards of $4 so that's a bummer. Unfortunately the ramen wasn't so great. Not terrible, but not great either. Especially not great for $19. Not my first choice for ramen. Is it the most bang for your buck? Certainly not. But I did enjoy my meal and in the end, that's what matters.

The dining area is in rough shape -- cracked wood, dusty interior, and a generally run-down vibe that makes it feel borderline dirty rather than "casual." Service was also frustrating. Our servers couldn't answer basic questions about the menu, which is already hard to follow if you're not familiar with Japanese terms. It left us feeling lost rather than guided. On top of that, the pricing is steep for the suburbs -- $5-$8 per skewer adds up really quickly, and it just didn't feel worth it given the atmosphere and service. All the yakitori was decent but nothing mind blowing, smaller servings and overly salty. To make matters worse, the tap water was awful -- honestly undrinkable. Look at my picture I'm shocked they thought this was acceptable to bring to our table. The food itself may be authentic, but everything else about the experience dragged it down. Unfortunately, not somewhere I'd come back to.

The plate looked very attractive and well presented. It came with fried chicken cut into pieces, ramen noodles, shrimp, and a spicy touch that added a lot of flavor. The dish also comes with a sauce that you can either pour over the plate or use as a dip. I personally preferred dipping the fried chicken instead of pouring the sauce over everything, which kept the chicken crispy. The combination of fried chicken, noodles, shrimp, and the spicy flavor worked really well together. I really enjoyed it, and this has definitely become one of my favorite dish of this food stands inside the H-Mark market. The food court is shared with other food stamp. There's always a table that you could grab because people tend to eat and leave fast. And there is always a staff ready to clean the tables if they're dirty. There is no music, but it gets a little bit loud because of people chatting.

Speaking of the food, let's get into it. Mango Avocado Roll: Refreshing and Delicious. This was a great appetizer to my poke bowl. Oasis Poke Bowl: This was deliciously refreshing as well, however it doesn't come with any sauce. I asked for a side of teriyaki which made everything better; elevated the entire bowl. Surf N Turf: I will order this moving forward as my go-to roll. The beef was cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the salmon. This roll itself filled me up, I thought I was going to order something else but I was done after that. Salmon and Shrimp Teriyaki: My partner gets this each time and I am always so excited to throw my fork into his plate. The teriyaki sauce here is so tasty, I want to put it on everything! The salmon and shrimp are also cooked super well, no chewiness here. Great amount of crisp on the salmon, the way it slides onto the fork is beautiful to watch. Vegetable Gyoza: The star of the show!! Best appetizer they have truly. I was so sad when there was no more. But thankful to have been able to experience such a great starter. Sweet Potato Roll: (Not pictured) The roll was ok, I liked it but felt like it was missing something. Maybe I would have liked it if it was Korean sweet potatoes. I won't order again because the menu is so extensive I can't limit myself to something I thought was ok. (4/5) Overall, Shokudo is a fantastic place to eat. It's truly an experience. The music is amazing and not overbearing, the ambiance is beautiful and there's multiple conversation pieces. What I love about looking at the items in the restaurant is how they go from traditional to contemporary. The servers were the sweetest, they all were extremely hospitable. All I can say is, I'll be back and if you go... you may see me there.

When the combo came out, it still had the spicy tuna roll. We sent it back, and the waiter returned to tell us that it would actually be an additional $2.00 because we changed it to a regular tuna roll. Not wanting to argue, I just said "OK," but I definitely wasn't happy. I also ordered the chicken teriyaki, which was rubbery and didn't taste like any teriyaki I'm used to. Our appetizer never came, and when we asked about it, all the waiter could do was apologize. At that point, that was all they could offer.
