Ordered: Weekday All You Can Eat Sushi (~$32/person) -Salad: Kani Salad & Seaweed Salad -Korean BBQ: Kalbi -Sashimi: Tuna, Salmon, Red Snapper, Eel, Red Clam, Squid, Spicy Salmon -Sushi: Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, Shrimp, Eel -Special Roll: Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Winter Roll, Dancing Tuna, Orange Dragon, Sushi Village, Lemon Roll -Appetizer: Yuzu Salmon & Yellowtail Jalapeño -Dessert: Strawberry Mochi & Fried Oreos Aya's take: Sometimes the only thing that will satisfy a sushi craving is eating copious amounts of sushi, so here we are! We stopped by for dinner on a weekday, and this was my first time trying AYCE in NJ. For ~$32 per person, this is such a good deal. Overall, the quality was good for the price point. I like that this AYCE includes sashimi which we got a bunch of and you can't go wrong with the nigiri (listed as sushi on the menu) as well. In addition to the Sashimi, I would highly recommend their Special Rolls. It's the second most "worth it" option in AYCE, in my opinion. I liked the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, Winter Roll, Sushi Village Roll, and Dancing Tuna Roll. The dessert options were good considering they have Fried Oreos. I just don't get why they limit you to one dessert per person. I would love some ice cream with the Fried Oreos and have had that option at other AYCE places. Nonetheless, you will leave here full and service is pretty quick! read more

Just moved to Jersey and was looking for an ayce sushi place that INCLUDED sashimi and honestly this is the place to go. There isn't many ayce sushi i have been finding in jersey (or jersey cities along the hudson ish) and this place has it all. The sashimi was good, it wasn't amazing quality but for all you can eat sushi I was impressed. The service was quick and fast, and when I made a mistake they kindly let me know (there are some things you can only get one of in that SECTION, not limit to one of each). The place is quite large with parking as well! Definitely will come back. read more

Fantastic food and service. This place is accommodating, fairly priced and goes above and beyond to make sure the food and atmosphere are top notch. Parking is limited, but if you can find a spot, then there's really very little I'd complain about. Definitely a fantastic dinner or party setting for all you can eat with a variety of cool and thought-through items. read more

Good amount of seatings, we came here on a Friday night and was seated right away. Cost was around $33 for ayce. This is my first time coming here and love the food here, it's delicious and fresh. The sashimi was great. Food came out quick, however it was hard to flag the waiter down as they were already so busy. Surprised that they even had galbi on the menu. Would definitely be coming back when in the area. read more

The food was decent, but the sushi had an excessive amount of rice. It wasn't bad, but the rice-to-fish ratio could definitely be better. read more

I really love this place!!! They give you everything you ask for. The options are amazing. They have the sticky rice with the tuna and it's my favorite thing on the planet! The place itself isn't over the top, it's clean and efficient. Great place to get ayce sushi!! read more

I just moved to the area and I was super excited about all you can eat sushi. I was severely disappointed with this establishment. I walked in and I was asked how many right away instead of a welcoming hi. Then before I sat down I was being asked about my drink order. I asked for a menu and was told there is no menu. I felt very rushed from the moment I went in. When my miso soup arrived I instantly knew it was an instant miso soup packet. When the sushi arrived it was the worst rice texture I've ever had. It was hard and the seaweed was super stretchy I almost choked. Overall I do not recommend this place. I didn't take pictures of the food but here is my receipt. read more

I would say this is an average all you can eat restaurant. Sushi was pretty good overall. Service was a little slow, but not horrible. I do wish dessert was all you can eat instead of just one per person since I tend to be more of a dessert person. Kids were half price There is additional parking in the back. read more

Didn't realize there was a close AYCE sushi (with parking available)! At $31.99/person this was quite a steal - there are sushi, sashimi, hand roll, regular roll, and special roll options along with some appetizers like salads, soups (but not udon), fried items (tempura, gyoza); so a little bit of everything for everyone! I really enjoyed the Spicy Tuna rolls the best - one item I didn't particularly enjoy/recommend would be the Yuzu Salmon or Yellowtail options: they were over sauced and too sweet (one of the dishes had popping boba). However, the sashimi pieces were pretty fresh and the wasabi was strong, so be careful! read more

I ordered the Fire Mountain Roll ($13.95), but the portion was so small--almost like the California roll in a dinner box. It was ridiculously small. On top of that, it tasted plain and not even fresh. Very disappointing. read more

Had stopped by Sushi Village for dinner one evening and had tried their AYCE meal option. Good variety of sashimi, hand rolls, hot apps, salad, soups and desserts. Once seated you are given 2 paper menus with the kitchen and sushi options. Once we gave our orders, the food all came out pretty quick. The sashimi was super fresh and the pieces were a good helping. We def enjoyed our food. We will be back again for our next sushi craving. And don't be wasteful, and only order as much as you can eat. read more

I've been to their Montclair location a few times in the past so when I drove past this one while in the area I had to stop by! Went on a Saturday night and it was suuuper busy (which is always a great sign) but the service was still quick. They have other dining options but we came for the all you can eat experience babyyy - which was weekend prices so it was $30. Although weekday prices are only $1 less so I will say it's on the expensive side BUT everything is made to order as opposed to buffet style so it tastes much more fresh which I don't mind paying more for. You can choose from apps, sushi, sashimi, tempura, even desserts! They have some unique options I haven't seen at other AYCE places too. My highlights were the gyoza, Godzilla roll, katsu, & the spicy titanic roll. Thought it was cool they had crispy sushi rice as an option here too! And of course had to end the night with a delish scoop of green tea ice cream. This place is also BYOB and has a parking lot but it's pretty tight in there so don't try bringing your Escalade. read more

California roll was the only one that was edible. The tuna was like rubber. I can't even explain the texture and never had tuna like this. I had to throw it out. The spicy Kani was ok, but too much mayo. Overall I do not recommend. Do not waste your money. This was a delivered meal. read more

Went to Sushi Village in Hackensack on New Year's Day for their AYCE Sushi Dinner. There's plenty of free parking, and there's a wait if you come after 5pm, but that's just because it was New Year's. I've been here before on regular days, and there's usually no line. There was also a 15-minute blackout, but the staff handled it well and reassured customers that everything was fine. The food is good overall. My favorites were the eel, beef bulgogi, and kalbi, along with a few other dishes. The green tea ice cream is really good too. The service was okay; I wouldn't say they were friendly. I felt like I was being stared at, and they seemed focused on making sure I left on time. I was told that I could only order one dessert at a time, but it took a long time for them to bring it. Since the price is reasonable, I'll be back again or maybe I'll try another AYCE spot around the area next time. read more

We always drive past this place so finally decided to check it out on Labor Day. It was around 12:30 and while the dining room wasn't full, there were a good amount of tables dining. Since it was a holiday, it was weekend prices. There are some pretty interesting items on the menu. Unfortunately, nothing was really that good. For apps, we ordered the yuzu tuna. This came with mango popping boba in it, which had no business there. The seaweed and kani salad had way too much tempura flakes in it. The mushroom soup was just a salty broth with boiled mushrooms, that weren't even cooked all the way. The agedashi tofu was actually pretty good. The yellowtail jalapeño was pretty good but it could have used a little less of whatever sauce they put on it. I also liked the fact they had crispy rice on the menu. This is the first time I've ever seen it on an AYCE menu. However, their spicy tuna/salmon is way too minced. It's like they put it into a food processor because it has almost a paste-like consistency. For other items, we ordered mostly sashimi because we didn't want to fill up on rice. I liked the white tuna sashimi, which is usually my fave. We ordered a spider roll, which could have been good if there wasn't so much rice in it. We also ordered another roll which we didn't realize was a tempura roll meaning they dunked the whole thing in batter and fried it, and that was too much. All you could taste was oily tempura. For dessert, you're only allowed one scoop of ice cream per person. So if you wanted more than one flavor, too bad. They do have Oreo tempura though. I'm not a fan but my husband loves it so he was happy about that. Overall, it seems they try really hard here to fill you up with the extras, which most places do but I felt Sushi Village was overdoing it with the extra rice, tempura flakes, popping boba, etc. Not a good option for AYCE. read more

The food tasted old, the shellfish was way too fishy, like it's been sitting or old. The Tempura tasted like they didn't change the oil, and the beef was just bones with the littlest of meat on it. Most of it bone and fat. Got rid of most of it. How could imitation crab taste so bad? read more

I want to leave a bad review for Sushi Village on Route 46. The staff was rude. They wanted to seat us at a table in the middle of the restaurant, but we asked for one of the three empty booths. At first, the hostess refused, then said we'd have to wait. She then spoke in her native language in an upset tone to someone who was about to seat us and when they finally offered a booth, it had a tiny table and was split by a black partition (and we were only two people). I was shocked by how cheap and insulting their treatment was. This wasn't my first time there, and I'd never had a similar experience before, but today was very bad. I walked away and took my business elsewhere. I do not recommend them at all. read more

Great service Great Sushi lots of options to choose from Always a great experience Wait staff is very nice

If not the best, then probably one of the best AYCE sushi restaurants in Bergen County! And, YES, it's really true, they really do have AYCE sashimi as part of their menu! You read that right .....ALLLLLL YOU CAN EAT sashimi! We arrived around 6:20 on a Friday evening and the restaurant was already bustling. The main dining room was packed, so they seated us in the secondary dining room off to the left. The menu is as straightforward as it gets - order as much of whatever you want from the menu (except for the special appetizers and dessert). That's a whole other story of how a restaurant will allow you to eat an ocean's worth of sashimi, but limit your ice cream servings to just 1 - go figure. However, the sushi??? - As FRESH as it gets for an AYCE restaurant! No offense to what people like to order at AYCE sushi restaurants because I am definitely not the menu police, but we didn't "waste" much of our appetite on kitchen items or rolls because to us it would be a huge mistake eating all of that rice when we can easily have rice at home. Right???? Anyhow, our goal was to eat our weight worth of sashimi and it felt like we did exactly that! We ordered every single type of sashimi they offered. Plus, we did order some sushi, 1 special roll and a few appetizers for the kids, BUT the main focus was sashimi. As I said, the sashimi was very, very good for an AYCE restaurant - nicely cut, big pieces, fresh tasting and mmmm mmmm good. Absolutely loved the tuna and salmon especially. From all of AYCE restaurants we have been to, there was only 1 other restaurant that we had been to that offered such fresh sashimi (E Sushi 2 in Brooklyn). Service was insanely swift, despite only seemingly having 3 waiters working that busy evening shift. Also, they didn't miss a single item from what we selected too. Quite impressive. Definitely worth every penny we spent here - $30 for adults and $8 for kids (not sure what the age limit is though). When we're craving sushi again, I'm pretty sure we know where we'll be going again! read more

After searching for all the possible AYCE sushi places nearby, I saw that they had sashimi as part of their AYCE, which is a rare find, so I decided to check this place out. Everything was meh, hence the 3 stars. Service was okay and food was okay. As someone mentioned in a previous review, don't expect high quality sushi or else you will be disappointed. The sashimi tasted fresh and they had a good variety of choices of sashimi. I'm mainly a salmon gal, so ate that to my heart's content. For the spicy seaweed salad, it was more like the kani salad with a few seaweed pieces thrown it and made spicy, which was disappointing. The soups and udon were bland and didn't have much flavor. The rolls were just meh and can be very filling. So, try not to order too much rolls or you'll get full very quickly. The dishes that I liked were; -the salmon sashimi pieces -sesame tuna -kalbi (but you only get 3 pieces per person) I really wanted to like this place because it's near me and has AYCE sashimi, but this place is a pass for me. Sigh. My hunt for a good sushi AYCE sushi place continues. This makes me miss Minado. Anybody else remember Minado? read more

I've driven by so many times but finally had the chance to check them out! Went there on a weekday for some early lunch. It was before 6pm so we were one of the only two tables when we got there. It's a small space so it got filled up rather quickly during the dinner rush (definitely get there early if you don't want to wait for a table). It was nicely decorated and clean - no complaints. Food was delicious. We ordered a bunch of nigiris and specialty rolls on top of sashimi. The texture and taste of fish was good and they gave really nice big cuts of fish. The rolls weren't overloaded with rice either. They had a small section that said only one order per person so we tried their yuzu tuna and yuzu salmon. I was pleasantly surprised. Didn't taste much of yuzu but delicious either way. Wouldn't ever think that popping boba would belong with sushi but it worked. You get 5% discount if you pay with cash but price is pretty comparable to other AYCE sushi around. Would come back again. read more

Great all you can eat sushi options and the service is good too. I've been to both locations and they're both great.

The food at this restaurant is extremely inconsistent. The last time I was there, which was tonight the fish was dried out. The avocado looked old. The tuna sashimi tasted awful. If I wasn't with my husband who gets very upset if I send food back, I would've told them I didn't want this food and walked out. The food was barely edible and even the avocado was old. I'll never go there again. read more

Great experience was my first time at an 'unlimited' sushi like experience. Ambiance was calm and welcoming upon entering and while seated. Waiter gave us a appetizer and a separate sushi menu. On these you start marking which you want and how many. Everything from the udon soup to the special sushi rolls were amazing! Favorite was the only fried roll (which they should add more fried toll option). The concept made sense to me for about $35pp you get to get as many apps and 'entree' as you choose do keep in mind that the restaurant has a policy for excessive amount of left over food you will be up charged! So don't eat with your eyes and each person has to participate. Would love to go back and would recommend. read more

Leaving this review while still in the parking lot. This was the worst service I have ever received, I like many people dining here had to keep looking over our shoulders and around to try to find someone to service us. We didn't know who our server was at any point. We waited lengthy periods of time in between each time we were ordering (all you can eat). They didn't give us everything we ordered every time. Just over all a very very disappointing time. Bad service. Bad attitudes!!!! read more

My party of 4 arrived on a Saturday night during peak dinner time, and after no luck in their parking lot, we opted to park on the street. Luckily there was no wait, so we were seated promptly. We started off with some apps and nigiri. It was odd, because some of the apps were a restricted quantity per person. The nigiri were also bizarre. The amount of rice they packed into these pieces was absurd. It was hard to chew on this amount of rice, and it was packed so tightly that it became dense. I wish I got a photo of the tuna slices on top as well, because the coloring of the nigiri tuna and sashimi were so different. Some of the rolls we got were hit or miss. For example, a few special rolls were so mushy in the middle and the salmon had tasted like it'd been defrosted and refrozen a few times. I likely wouldn't come back here. From the density of the rice to the varying tastes of their tuna and salmon, it was enough to keep me away. read more

I'll preface this by saying I probably would have given Sushi village a 4-star rating if it were not for some mind-boggling rules regarding the all-you-can-eat (AYCE) service. The place was not too busy on a Monday night; my party of 5 was seated immediately. This place operates pretty much the same as any other AYCE sushi spot. You get two menus to mark up; one for the "Kitchen" (hot foods) and "Sushi" (sushi, obviously). You check off what you want, hand it to the server, replacement menu sheets are given, food is brought out, rinse and repeat. The service was prompt and friendly. The sushi is typical AYCE quality; of course not Michelin star or anything, but it's decent. The Kitchen menu items were pretty good and I enjoyed them more than most AYCE sushi spots. Now, my issue is that some of the items on the menu are limited. This rubbed me the wrong way. On the Sushi menu there was a whole bottom section of items that were "Limit 1 per person". I was in a party of 5 and there are 6 items in that section. We each ordered something from that section but we could not sample the last item because we had reached the arbitrary limit. I would understand if it were some ultra-premium item like wagyu or toro, but it was not. There was yuzu salmon/tuna and while they were alright I don't think they warrant 'limited' status. It was basically a deconstructed roll put into a glass with yuzu drizzled over it. I probably would not want to order it multiple times, but I am a man of principle--if it's all-you-can-eat I want all I can (not will) eat. The last item that we were unable to try was the sesame tuna. At the end of our meal we were all ready to have some ice cream for dessert. They had the usual hard ice cream but they also had mochi ice cream. Again, the limit came into play. Dessert is limited to 1 item per person as well. This makes even less sense to me than the Sushi menu limits. You're telling me I can (hypothetically) eat my weight in salmon sashimi but a double scoop of green tea ice cream is where you draw the line? Overall it's a decent place though. read more

We've been here twice and for weekend $30/person sushi all you can eat option, it cannot be beat! Green tea icecream is fire. The bulgogi and kalbi are to die for so well marinated 10/10 all you can eat experience.

I came here Christmas Day, I believe. Open on the holiday, friendly and fast service. Crowd seemed friendly. Decor was nice enough. Honestly, I had the previous day indulged in ordering sushi delivery from elsewhere, and I was still hungry afterwards. Came here and spent the same amount of not slightly less for all you can eat sushi. Quality was the same, so this place was a no-brainer as a better choice. Sushi tends to be pricey, but especially for sushi nevermind all you can eat, this place is a great deal. Is it the best sushi you'll ever have? You are simply not going to get that with all you can eat. But it is good, and you can fill up on sushi here for equal or less money than you can spend on far less food from sushi delivery (especially these days where there's like... 3 different fees for delivery almost doubling the cost). read more
