4/18/26 Not sure reg. hours but on this Sunday they did not open until 4:30PM. 1st time trying this place. I think they were previously in Belleville that's why it's a 973 # (This was the old hot dog place on State Street). We called in a pick-up order. They estimated 30 min was done in 22 min didn't have to wait. There's a public municipal metered Parking across Essex Street or I believe for pick up you can park on side or back of building. Ordered: -Thai Ice Tea (not pictured) -Sm Tom Yum soup w shrimp & mushroom (not pictured) -Thai Dumplings -Shrimp rolls -Spring Rolls -Crispy chicken w/Cashews -Shrimp Fried rice We asked for everything not spicy. The Thai Iced Tea was very good (I kept stretching it by adding lactose free milk & it was perfect it never lost it's flavor) The Crispy Chicken looked like it could have been mushy but it wasn't - it was perfect crisp with perfect sauce adhered and a perfect bite size all fresh vegetables with good crunch not soggy. Both spring roll & shrimp roll were not greasy they were light and flavorful. The shrimp fried was also not greasy and the shrimp in the rice was cooked perfectly not rubbery or overcooked. Dumplings had a nice consistency, nice flavor and were fully stuffed wrapping was light not heavy or too doughy. Did not try the Tom Yum soup w shrimp & mushroom yet but looking forward to it! Wonderful thai food and family run business. Came in a few months ago to dine in and the thai iced tea here is outstanding! Really good, deep flavor. Had to try the pad Thai of course with shrimp and beef pad see ew. Everything here is delicious and authentic. Not too crazy expensive either. Will be back to try some rice dishes read more

We ordered medium and it still had a strong kick, and that's coming from someone who can handle spice. Will prob get mild next time I'm back! Steamed Thai Dumplings (4.75/5): So good. Packed with meat, and the vinegar sauce paired perfectly. Loved the crispy topping, it added an extra layer of texture that really elevated the dish. Garlic Chicken Wings (4.25/5): A little salty at first, but pairing them with the vinegar sauce from the dumplings made each bite better. The wings were noticeably juicier than the drumsticks. Pad See Ew (4.75/5): Loved the thick, flat noodles and the charred wok hay. The chicken was tender and not overcooked, which is always a win. Pad Kee Mao (4.5/5): Same great noodles, though it could've used more veggies. The pork was still tender, but as you keep eating the pork it does feel tougher. 10/30/25 New Thai restaurant in my town. Jib and Saji are friendly and helpful Thai Iced Tea was ok Grilled Pork was so good! So tender and flavorful. The Lemon hot sauce and the Tamarind hot sauce were both good. Duck in Lychee Curry was so good. The Duck was tender. Went back a few days later with a family member. Duck Pad Kra Pow (Basil Sauce) was crispy yet tender and flavorful. Tamarind Duck was very good. Green Curry Chicken was good but not as flavorful as the ducks. read more

We had a really nice experience here. The crispy rolls were perfectly crunchy on the outside and fresh on the inside, making them a great way to start the meal. The spicy curry had a rich, bold flavor with just the right amount of heat. It was well balanced and comforting without being overwhelming. The drunk noodles were tasty and well seasoned, but I would have loved to see more vegetables added in for extra texture and freshness. The basil rice was definitely my favorite dish. It was incredibly flavorful, fragrant, and satisfying, and I would come back just for that alone. The people working there were very nice and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. This place is located on a busy road so parking is a little tough. It's a nice sized restaurant. At lunch there was only one server but she was very kind and attentive. They have a lunch special with 5 or so items. It comes with 2 spring rolls or thai iced tea (+$2). The iced tea was sweet and caffeinated. The pad thai was a large portion size, not fishy and sweet. The tofu was a little too moist in the middle though. The basil fried rice was nice and spicy. It was white in color so I didn't expect that much flavor. The prices are fair. I ordered out / did pick-up so I can't say much about dining in but: The restaurant is immaculately neat and clean. The decor is very simple and cozy so it feels calming and not overstimulating. It's very quiet so it would be a great place to take your time really savoring every bite and have intimate conversations I also loved how you could choose your spiciness level. When I called in to ask "when you say 'spicy,' does that mean white-people 'spicy' or Asian-level 'spicy'?" They humored me by answering honestly and non-offendedly. Their staff was very accommodating and solution oriented by giving me the spices on the side so I could adjust for myself PROS: their spicy garlic chili oil (made in-house), veryyy addictive. If they bottled it, I'd buy packs of it. Their pad kee mao. I am veryyyyyyy picky about my Thai food but this place is in my top 2 NJ spots for pad kee mao. I can't believe I didn't know about it sooner. CONS: you might have to whisper in hushed tones so the table next to you doesn't overhear your conversation if you choose to dine in (but is that really a con? Little Thai place off the beaten path. Municipal lot and street parking available a block away. Server was so nice and friendly. From what we ordered, the crispy basil duck was good and fried tofu had a nice spicy sauce accompanying it. Pad thai was too sweet for our liking and curry a bit watered down. read more

Came here for dinner the other day with two friends and got everything pictured. The food was delicious, the service was great, it wasn't a super fancy place but it was clean and quaint. Went on a Saturday night and wasn't that difficult to get a seat! Out of all the Thai places in the area this is definitely my top one. I'll be coming back in the future read more

This is the place for lunch. Generous portion of Pad Thai but what an incredible take on a delicious favorite. This is the best I have ever had, perfectly done rice noodles, tamarind sauce with flavor like no other. And spring rolls that were light, crisp and delicious. I will be returning often. Tried a new Thai place in Hackensack today. The restaurant has such a cute and cozy vibe. The food was good, but everything came out very slowly because they just opened and are really understaffed. Our first visit here and we had a wonderful experience. The food and service was excellent. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The crispy boneless duck was tasty with the fried basil leaves. Ordered delivery from this place last night on a Friday night, near to closing time, (sorry!). Was pleasantly surprised, food quality was excellent, delivery was fast, and portions sizes were very generous, especially for the soup, which came in a large container, much better than other Thai places. Excellent service especially close to closing time. Got the Pad Thai Chickens x2 , Drunken Noodles, Tom Yum Soup x2. Not too oily like other places. Pad Thai had a hint of sweetness, which made it so addictive. Overall would definitely recommend this place, it is a hidden gem among other Thai places in the area. Awesome experience today at Ping Yang Thai. We had the steamed dumplings, the duck salad and the special chicken dish. Everything was delicious! The chef is the owner and he is very personable. Oh MAN! They were sold out of the green Curry BUT the Red Curry with chicken was the BEST EVER! I went to Ping Yang Thai because I was in the mood for Thai flavor. I chose this place because I had never been. I had been to a few other Thai restaurants in the area, but was not impressed, so I needed a new place. Ok okay, I'm a very decent flavorful cook so I'm hard to please, but I was blowed away with the flavors of the Red Curry. The chicken was tender, the flavor of coconut and spices were perfect. The Chef seemed focused, my food arrived in the minutes he said it would. Before I could finish this review, I went back. We ate in house, the decor is nice. We had the shrimp rolls which were crispy and just okay, Shrimp Pad Thai, which was seasoned well but gummy, I had to try the Green Curry with chicken, tasty, but not as good as the Red Curry. I order Pad Ka prow and this ... is the actual crap they gave me. They didn't even make it spicy when I asked for spicy. It was literally boiled shrimp and vegetables in chicken broth. No flavor except for the couple bits of basil boiled in there. So disrespectful to pay $22 for this read more
