Basil rice
Monika K.

We had a really nice experience here. The crispy rolls were perfectly crunchy on the outside and fresh on the inside, making them a great way to start the meal. The spicy curry had a rich, bold flavor with just the right amount of heat. It was well balanced and comforting without being overwhelming. The drunk noodles were tasty and well seasoned, but I would have loved to see more vegetables added in for extra texture and freshness. The basil rice was definitely my favorite dish. It was incredibly flavorful, fragrant, and satisfying, and I would come back just for that alone. The people working there were very nice and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, it was a good meal with great flavors and kind service.

10/30/25 New Thai restaurant in my town. Jib and Saji are friendly and helpful Thai Iced Tea was ok Grilled Pork was so good! So tender and flavorful. The Lemon hot sauce and the Tamarind hot sauce were both good. Duck in Lychee Curry was so good. The Duck was tender. Went back a few days later with a family member. Duck Pad Kra Pow (Basil Sauce) was crispy yet tender and flavorful. Tamarind Duck was very good. Green Curry Chicken was good but not as flavorful as the ducks.

This place is located on a busy road so parking is a little tough. It's a nice sized restaurant. At lunch there was only one server but she was very kind and attentive. They have a lunch special with 5 or so items. It comes with 2 spring rolls or thai iced tea (+$2). The iced tea was sweet and caffeinated. The pad thai was a large portion size, not fishy and sweet. The tofu was a little too moist in the middle though. The basil fried rice was nice and spicy. It was white in color so I didn't expect that much flavor. The prices are fair. I will return to try other dishes.

Pad Thai

Ordered pad thai, crispy tofu and thai iced tea. Everything was delicious and good price. Friendly service.

Came here for dinner the other day with two friends and got everything pictured. The food was delicious, the service was great, it wasn't a super fancy place but it was clean and quaint. Went on a Saturday night and wasn't that difficult to get a seat! Out of all the Thai places in the area this is definitely my top one. I'll be coming back in the future

This is the place for lunch. Generous portion of Pad Thai but what an incredible take on a delicious favorite. This is the best I have ever had, perfectly done rice noodles, tamarind sauce with flavor like no other. And spring rolls that were light, crisp and delicious. I will be returning often. And all for a very reasonable price.

Tried a new Thai place in Hackensack today. The restaurant has such a cute and cozy vibe. The food was good, but everything came out very slowly because they just opened and are really understaffed. Our server, she was super sweet and polite. Please be patient and give them a chance...hope business picks up for them. Good luck!

Fried rice with grilled pork

Our first visit here and we had a wonderful experience. The food and service was excellent. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The crispy boneless duck was tasty with the fried basil leaves. The 2 dipping sauces for the grilled pork over fried rice was surprisingly good, and I used it on everything. Looking forward to our next visit to try more delicious dishes.

Green Curry with chicken, tasty

Oh MAN! They were sold out of the green Curry BUT the Red Curry with chicken was the BEST EVER! I went to Ping Yang Thai because I was in the mood for Thai flavor. I chose this place because I had never been. I had been to a few other Thai restaurants in the area, but was not impressed, so I needed a new place. Ok okay, I'm a very decent flavorful cook so I'm hard to please, but I was blowed away with the flavors of the Red Curry. The chicken was tender, the flavor of coconut and spices were perfect. The Chef seemed focused, my food arrived in the minutes he said it would. Before I could finish this review, I went back. We ate in house, the decor is nice. We had the shrimp rolls which were crispy and just okay, Shrimp Pad Thai, which was seasoned well but gummy, I had to try the Green Curry with chicken, tasty, but not as good as the Red Curry. Overall Ping Yang Thai gets 4 1/2 stars until I return.

I got halfway through the bolon and found all the chicharrón had been packed in the center of the bolon. On top of that, all of the chicharrón was burnt to a crisp. I laughed because it honestly felt like a prank. I'm not sure how much my brother paid but no price was worth what I received. My brother ordered grilled chicken, rice and beans. My sister had a beef empanada. They liked their items and had no issues. Given that my siblings items were okay I cannot say I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I've heard comparisons between Marty's patties and those of Five Guys, and I can see why. They're fresh rather than frozen, and they're thin enough to approximate a smashed burger with those occasional bits of char while still maintaining enough heft that you can taste the beef. Their build-your-own burger menus are also similar, with plenty of free toppings to choose from. But I would argue that Marty's offers a fuller range of toppings from diverse cheese options to more premium ones like fried eggs, bacon, and avocado. I tried two of their signature burgers, and while the Swiss mushroom dijon was a hit with my husband (he pointed out the visible mustard seeds in the dijon sauce), the bacon avocado was the clear winner in my book. It not only had bacon that was texturally perfect (crispy and densely packed atop the patty), but also picture-ready slices of avocado. For that to come out of a fast food restaurant kitchen within a matter of minutes? Color me impressed. The banana pudding is dynamite. I'm usually neither a fan of banana nor puddings because those things combined just sound like mush. But here, the pudding is more of a whipped, airy texture, and I believe it when the lid says 'made fresh' because there were chunks of banana nestled in every bite. I admit it might not be much to look at, but I was hooked after a single spoonful (I'm actually greedily scraping the bottom of the container as I type this review). The restaurant has a diminutive dining space (I counted four two-tops at most), but it feels super cozy and casual. I took my food to go and found nothing had deteriorated - in flavor, temperature, or texture - during my drive home because everything is well packaged. There's paid street parking available, but this area of Hackensack is pretty dense so you might have to circle around for a bit before finding a spot.

I tried the Double Cheeseburger, Mushroom Burger, Truffle Parmesan fries, and Poutine. Everything was great. The patties on the burgers were cooked perfectly and were flavorful. The fries were nice and I enjoyed them both but I think I liked the Truffle Parmesan more--I'm a sucker for all things truffle. The poutine was surprisingly good too though. I wish the gravy were a little thicker but it was hot enough that it caused the cheese curds to get nice and melty. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other offerings.

For the most part, we already knew what we wanted to order, so we placed an order for the BBQ items and hot pot meats first. Only the meats are the items you need to order. Everything else, you grab at the buffet - including seafood, fish balls, veggies, and noodles. The BBQ items are just okay, but that tends to be the case with you have hot pot + BBQ. The hot pot beef was good but the lamb was super gamey, which turned my broth into a gamey lamb flavor, making everything else I cooked in there have a trace of that too. Bottom line - skip the lamb.
