So I saw this place and I noticed that its been awhile since I had Thai food. Stopped in and this place was amazing. I had a great time here as the staff was aamzing and the service was excellent. I had the dumplings and the Pineapple fried rice. Both were top notch and tased great. Overall I had a good experience and looking forward to coming back here.

What an amazing authentic Thai restaurant! The new beef noodle soup dish is a savory yet light great addition to the menu. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff are so attentive and friendly. I highly recommend coming here for an authentic Thai experience.

I've been to this Thai restaurant many times. The food is prepared with authentic Thai flavors -- just like in Thailand -- and you can choose your preferred spice level. My favorite dishes are Pad Thai, Tamarind Shrimp, Fried Fish, Papaya Salad, Grilled Beef Salad, and Green Curry Beef. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very clean. I'll definitely keep coming back. I also love Thai iced tea for my drink and Kanom Tuay for dessert.

Girlfriends and I came on a weekend for dinner. We love Thai food and were excited to try! We ordered pad thai, pad see ew, papaya salad, and a curry. The waiters must have forgotten to put our pad thai order in, because we had to ask for it when it didn't show up with the rest of our food. The portions were on the smaller end and some of the dishes we hoped were more flavorful, but it is a bistro so that might explain the size. The restaurant is super cute and trendy.

Went back two more times - food is consistently clean and tasty! Service is quick and lovely. Space is clean and calm as well any day of the week!

Tiny Pat thai entre $18 rubbery chicken

This was the worst Pad Thai I've ever had and I've had a lot. It was flavorless, yet as soon as you open the container, all you smell is fish sauce. I paid $18 for the chicken Pad Thai, but the portion was surprisingly small, more like a lunch-sized serving. Smaller than my hand. The chicken had a strange, rubbery texture. Overall, it tasted more like the fake Pad Thai you'd get from a generic Chinese takeout place, not from an authentic Thai restaurant. On a positive note, the place was clean and nicely decorated, and the woman who helped me was very friendly. I genuinely wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

But when it comes to Thai food, there's just two, and Khao Thai is one of them. Inside, the space is fairly large but it's kept relatively quiet and intimate with lots of two-tops. Our crispy calamari appetizer was a bit of a letdown. While hot and crispy, they seemed to have been breaded and fried as clumps. Even the accompanying sweet chili sauce couldn't mask that tough, rubbery texture. Entrees fared just a little better. My pad see ew was a little bland but perked up with some chili sauce dribbled over the plate by the spoonful. I chose beef as my protein and while there weren't a ton of beef pieces, the few I had were wonderfully tender. Service was friendly and lovely. Our server (who I also assume is the owner) welcomed us warmly and was quick to check on us. I was endeared by the owner's young daughter who came by to help and made sure all our water glasses stayed filled. I know we're riding the giant inflation wave, but the serving size felt a little paltry for the prices. Even after an appetizer and two entrees, we both had enough stomach space after dinner to fill up with nuggets at a nearby fast food restaurant.

The waitress wasn't rude but she didn't come back after bringing the food. Another person, maybe the manager or owner (and adult whereas the waitress was a teen or very early 20s) came out and never even spoke to or looked toward our table. I guess if I was desperate for Thai and nothing else was available I might try again but I'm not. I don't plan to return. The pad Thai is very one note which is the opposite of what makes Thai food amazing to begin with.

They give you these delicious chip and dip in the beginning, which I thought should be in a bigger bowl because we ate that up SO fast. While I can't speak to everyone's meals, my dish, the Shanghai Jerk Chicken was delicious! If you're into spicy foods, this is something that will satisfy that need! On the side were rice and peas with some veggies such as carrots and broccoli. I ordered the curry chicken and was served what appeared to be the end of the pot -- scraps of meat that had fallen off the bone. For $37, I did not expect to receive leftovers or what looked like the remainder of the dish. When I brought it to the server's attention, I was told it was the end of the pot. That was very disappointing and honestly unacceptable at that price point. If it wasn't for my grandson being hungry, I would have sent the plate back. The quality and presentation did not match the cost, and it took away from what could have been a much better experience. Looking at the menu, I saw that they also offered a full Japanese selection with loads of sushi options. Everything sounded great, and I got excited for our meal. When we arrived, I was very impressed by the atmosphere, which was stylish, modern, and spacious. Our waitress was fine, but seemed to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. Regardless, the food was excellent! The place was BYOB, but did have a Shirley Temple on the beverage section of the menu, which I thought was a cute alternative. As I mentioned, the food options were vast, which made it tough to decide how to proceed. In the end, I decided to get a single piece of sushi and a full Chinese entree. The piece of Eel Sushi I ordered was delivered as sashimi. When I noted the difference to the server, she looked at me like I was nuts, but asked if I wanted a bed of rice to put the fish on...I just said to forget it, since I already had a side of rice with my entree. It was just a weird exchange, but the eel was fresh and delicious. For my main course, I went with the Chicken and Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Basil Sauce and a side of brown rice. The meat was tender, the sauce had just the right amount of heat, and it was all just so flavorful! Plus, the portion was very generous. I tried a bite of the Spicy Asian Flower Herbs Chicken, which was noted as being "wok-sauteed in high flame for extreme spice". The diced chicken with red peppers and snap peas had been cooked with Szechuan peppercorns, but, thankfully, none of actual peppercorns were in the dish. So, there was certainly a level of spice, but actually not a ton of heat. It was really tasty, though! The rest of our party also enjoyed their meals, whether they were from Japanese or Chinese cuisine. I would definitely go back to Hanami, and it was great to find a delicious Asian restaurant in that area.

Right off the bat, I was impressed with the interior. The pop art! The giant takeout box in the corner! The homage to Bruce Lee in the bathroom! Whoever was in charge of the restaurant's interior design took their jobs seriously. Service here is also fantastic. My husband and I were greeted boisterously as soon as stepped through the door, and when the guy at the counter heard this was our first visit, he was eager to explain the ordering process and the choices available. Fat Choy offers buildable and customizable bowls that are meant to be inspired by Chinese takeout options but healthier. What I appreciate is that they don't use seed oils (a big no-no in the health food world). It all sounds great. But in my book, food has to taste good. And this is unfortunately where Fat Choy fell flat for me. It might be 'healthier' Chinese food; it's also quite saucy and salty. Every single ingredient I selected for my bowl was heavily seasoned, and not always in a harmonious way. Even the more recognizable takeout elements of our meal - like sesame chicken - tasted a little off the mark. Some things were a little too gingery, others seemed a little heavy on the soy. In short, if you want to satisfy a craving for certain familiar Chinese takeout entrees, you might not want to bring those cravings here. But let me interrupt my mini-grousing session to mention one absolutely praise-worthy item here. The crispy mushrooms? Delectable. When we were ordering, my husband pointed to the pan of mushrooms at the counter. We were confused when they went into the back kitchen to get his serving. As it turns out, the ones in the front are a front; when someone orders it, they'll fry up a fresh batch in the kitchen so that customers never get the mushy ones. I respect that level of dedication towards optimizing taste.
