My only regret about going to veggie heaven is not going sooner! This place is amazing! I don't know they were able to use plant based products to make proteins that taste like meat. I couldn't believe it wasn't meat and am very thankful to be able to get such a delicious, satisfying meal without plastic or animal products at a great price. The service was great. They brought us complimentary tea and water. The staff was patient and attentive while we decided what we wanted. The appetizer and meal came out quickly. The prices are very reasonable and even more so during lunch hours. They also have a great selection of deserts. I asked for them to wrap up our leftovers without plastic and they were able to accommodate us. I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu. This is how you have a sustainable business. Thank you.

Good service and plenty of seating at lunch. Park in the lot on the side street. I had the boneless bbq ribs, japanese drumsticks and mongolian beef Boneless Ribs- interesting chewy texture but this was on the sweet side even without the sauce and I would skip this next time. Japanese Drumsticks- 2 orders next time please! Intense crispiness and a great exterior crunch. Odd sauce pairing- but I doctored the ribs sauce with soy for a better dip. Mongolian Beef- fresh crisp veggies and a nice savory sauce- would order again

5/5 - the best vegan spot ever!!! I love this place. Sushi and Chinese dishes are sooo good especially for being all Vegan.

I've been a loyal customer for years and I love their creative takes on food. Vegan but food for everyone.. I had the Thai mango sushi and my favorite Vege duck appy.. Professional Service delicious food

Sushi rolls are amazing, my favs r the dragon, rainbow, phoenix, and mango thai, the carribean roll and coconut roll r also super great. I've tried the vegetarian duck and that is very tasty too. Highly reccommend getting their Thai tea boba as well. In the picture is: vegetarian duck and the rainbow dragon and phoenix roll

I came here for my friends birthday party it was a big one about 12 of us. They have a lot of cool options it's all vegetable but made to imitate meat . We had a wide array of dishes. I loved the curry soup , the ribs, and the sesame chicken . The food is very filling and portions are big. We all had to go bags after . It's a pretty good place for vegetarians and has a lot of gluten free options . The waiter was nice but was a little slow he took a while to take our orders but overall good place !

    Ice cream partially melted

The people are great! The quality of the food has diminished since it changed ownership! It is disappointing. However, the vegan cakes are awesome. The attached pic includes ice cream that clearly is not consistent and that was partially melted and refrozen. This is not the first time either. Across the board, there has been a decline. I won't be ordering from them again.

This review is not about anything BUT the Kashrut Supervision. While it's in Teaneck, one should one that this Restaurant IS NOT under the hashgacha of there Rabbincal Council of Bergen County. I made the mistake of making a reservation there & almost went there for dinner, before someone mentioned this point to me. I was foolish in thinking that kosher in Teaneck means RCBC hashgacha. NOPE. Be better than me & look at each establishment's kasrut supervision carefully.

Overall Thoughts: The quintessential spot for vegan Asian fusion food-- from Chinese to Thai to Japanese to Vietnamese (with some Caribbean & Mexican too). The menu is massive, perfect for sharing with groups large and small, and the prices are good and reasonable. The service was quick and attentive, and the restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable. There's a free parking lot nearby too. All the dishes-- even the vegetables-- were less flavorful than traditional Asian restaurant food, but they still tasted good. Overall, you can't go wrong with Veggie Heaven if you're looking for a diverse variety of vegan Asian food. Food I tried: - Eggplant with Garlic Sauce (4/5): This dish is a lot less flavorful than those in traditional Chinese restaurants (likely due to the lack of MSG), but it was still pretty good, with a distinct Chinese flair. - Vegetable Peking Duck (4/5): The mock duck was quite good and well-made; the texture was nice and stringy and pretty meat-like. It's not exactly similar to traditional "mock duck" as the traditional one is made from wheat gluten, and this one is gluten-free. The dish also came with flour tortillas instead of traditional bao buns for wrapping, which still tasted good but was lighter and less filling. - Assorted Steamed Dim Sum (3.9/5): These were pretty good; I enjoyed the different skins of each one. The inside filling of the "shumai" was mostly seasoned rice, while the dumpling fillings were all of the same veggies. It would've been nice to have some more diverse fillings, or some mock meats as fillings. -- Price (relative to peers): 4.4/5 Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4.8/5 Service: 4.8/5 Overall Value: 4.3/5

Food: 3.75/5 Service: 5/5 I love the purpose of Veggie Heaven and its intention to provide alternatives of meat-oriented dishes. The servers were friendly, and there was plenty of tables to sit at. My friend and I tried the shrimp tempura roll, falafels, and boba tea. Here were our thoughts: * Shrimp Tempura Roll (5/5) Given this is a vegetarian take on shrimp tempura, it was surprisingly good! I would definitely be open to getting this again if the menu wasn't so large and interesting. * Falafels (1/5) I'm no professional taster at falafels, but this just wasn't good. It was too mushy, and the sauce wasn't very good. My friend and I agreed we could skip on this next time. * Boba tea (2.5/5) It was an average boba tea. I was thirsty and craving something like this, so it worked. However, there are other boba shops in the area that are definitely better I would like to come back again some time and try different things! It's a unique find as there aren't many restaurants that do vegetarian East Asian food.

Loved the seitan "beef" tacos! Delicious. Watch out for the hot sauce if you request it- that's no joke.

Right off the bat, I was impressed with the interior. The pop art! The giant takeout box in the corner! The homage to Bruce Lee in the bathroom! Whoever was in charge of the restaurant's interior design took their jobs seriously. Service here is also fantastic. My husband and I were greeted boisterously as soon as stepped through the door, and when the guy at the counter heard this was our first visit, he was eager to explain the ordering process and the choices available. Fat Choy offers buildable and customizable bowls that are meant to be inspired by Chinese takeout options but healthier. What I appreciate is that they don't use seed oils (a big no-no in the health food world). It all sounds great. But in my book, food has to taste good. And this is unfortunately where Fat Choy fell flat for me. It might be 'healthier' Chinese food; it's also quite saucy and salty. Every single ingredient I selected for my bowl was heavily seasoned, and not always in a harmonious way. Even the more recognizable takeout elements of our meal - like sesame chicken - tasted a little off the mark. Some things were a little too gingery, others seemed a little heavy on the soy. In short, if you want to satisfy a craving for certain familiar Chinese takeout entrees, you might not want to bring those cravings here. But let me interrupt my mini-grousing session to mention one absolutely praise-worthy item here. The crispy mushrooms? Delectable. When we were ordering, my husband pointed to the pan of mushrooms at the counter. We were confused when they went into the back kitchen to get his serving. As it turns out, the ones in the front are a front; when someone orders it, they'll fry up a fresh batch in the kitchen so that customers never get the mushy ones. I respect that level of dedication towards optimizing taste.
