Very tasty! I had the Adana kebab picked up with a few other orders and some lebne and like an eggplant side. LOVED the walnuts in the eggplant and the sliced almonds in the fragrant rice. The kebab was tender and flavorful. Will definitely come back for more! read more

I have been to the Clifton location a few times. My lady put me on to Toros and I've never left disappointed. We decided to try out the Paterson location last night. They certainly did not disappoint. We got quite a few things. I'll start with the lowlights. The spinach feta pie lacked textural contrast. The dough was soggy and it was a lackluster dish, both of our least favorite of the meal. The falafel app, while good, is something I'd skip next go round. The shepherd salad is a must. The hummus is also very good. We got the Toros combination platter. These three dishes, along with their bread, are just delicious. Get them and then dm me a nice "thank you". I have been dining at Toros Clifton for years. Toros prepares the best Turkish cuisine around! We decided to try the Paterson location for a change. We ordered our usual favorites hummus, shepherd salad, bread, and a toros combination platter. These dishes are a must and work well together! The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. We also tried for the first time the spinach feta pie. I would skip that because it was soggy and unappealing. We also ordered the falafel. It was good but it's served with salad and hummus which was unnecessary. The service was good and it is BYOB!! However, the decor and ambience was mediocre in comparison to Clifton. If you want more of a take-out feel then dine at the Paterson location. If you are looking for an attractive ambience then the Clifton location is the way to go! First time for Turkish food and we all loved it. We got the mixed cold appetizer but I guess there's a few things not included like dolma and the bean salad. We ordered the dolma as well with a mixed shish kabob platter. Everything was so fresh tasting and delicious. The bread was amazing and different than pita bread that you get at every other Mediterranean restaurant. I've only been to the Toros restaurant in Paterson (there is a Clifton location and one in New Milford). A friend took me and my boyfriend here for a meetup, and we've gone back to Toros since. One of the things about Turkish cuisine is that it's known for its meat-based dishes. However, it's possible to eat vegetarian and you can do this at Toros. What we did was order a bunch of appetizers, bowls of Ezogelin (red lentil soup) for each person, and we rounded off the meal with some Turkish Coffee. Never felt such so uncomfortable In this restaurant. The past two times I went there I felt unwanted there. The blonde lady saw me looking at them so I can get a menu until I finally decided to request it. Since they came to take my order without a menu. Second time I placed an order for pick up the same lady gave her my credit card to pay and she didn't bother to give me the bag for the food just left it there on the other counter. The atmosphere is very impressive with a cultural twist presenting Turkish antiques. The service from staff is timely and impeccable. The flavors from the six dishes we had were well-blended and absolutely delicious. From Coban Salata (Cucumber/Tomato salad) to Icli Kofte (wheat bulgar stuffed with Ground beef) to Sigara Boregi (filo dough stuffed with herbs and feta cheese), and ending with Tavuk Sote( sautéed chicken and vegetable in tomato sauce). This was one of the first restaurants I was introduced to in Paterson. I fell in love with this place. The home-cooked style buffet reminds me of home. The service was great, I remember seeing an lady behind the counter in the kitchen cooking, she reminded me of my grandmother, she had such a welcoming smile on her face, I still remember that after all these years. I haven't seen her in a while but unfortunately I haven't been back here in a while. The space, decor, and lighting is very warm and inviting. A hidden gem in the sketchy part of Paterson, NJ. I was so surprised to find this local Turkish restaurant when visiting the local hospital. The food is tasty and the service was nice. Small cabin-like feel in the middle of Paterson. It's very cozy, comfortable and family-based. Only about 15 tables so don't expect craziness or go with large parties (the Toros in Clifton is your better bet). But, I don't like being swarmed and surrounded by bottles of alcohol (as the other Toros is), and this setting was a definitely more my style and comfort level. The food was outstanding! The chicken is ALWAYS very juicy and its the safest bet for a food meal. I also really enjoyed their tomato-based lentil soup since its definitely the turkish style of cooking-- it was great! They put an assortment of different breads at our request which is nice for a table of 6, since each of us have different tastes and preferences. And we also loved that they served each dish with two types of rice, one tomato couscous type, and the other the traditional white rice. A FEW minor changes: the lamb chops had little to no marinade or flavoring... we definitely used regular table salt to add flavor. The traditional Turkish Salad had 3/4 tomatoes and 1/4 cucumber so it was like a tomato salad and none of our party like that. It also needed a bit more lemon juice and salt. The service was good BUT they forgot my husband's order and when we ordered two things to go while our waitress was on break, the other person told the waitress she didn't understand and so we waited another 20 minutes for our order since we re-requested it with our waitress after her dinner break was done. read more

Searching for a place to lunch with my mom between my job in Paterson and my mom's job in Clifton, I found Toros and decided to try it based on a recommendation from my colleague. Toros is located in a neighborhood that seems to be Paterson's Little Turkey, in a house on a corner of Main Street. Step into a space that could very well be your Turkish grandmother's kitchen (that is if you're Turkish and have a grandmother whose kitchen can seat around 40). The very friendly waitress was happy to recommend some dishes, and she was extremely welcoming. We decided to try the soup of the day (yellow lentil), babbaghanoush, hummus, and stuffed grape leaves. A basket of warm pita and Turkish bread (sort of like a flatter Italian bread) arrived at our table. My mom couldn't stop raving about the bread. I loved all the food. It was fresh, flavorful, and simple. From our tables, we could peer into a little window that separated the dining room from the kitchen. An older lady wearing what looked like a babooshka was stuffing grape leaves with the delicious rice and currant filling. This food is truly homemade and filling. Better yet our bill came out to less than $20. Some of the traditional Turkish entrees on the menu also sounded delicious, but they are rather expensive for lunch ($15+). However, after seeing some of the huge plates coming out of the kitchen to other tables, we decided that they could definitely be shared. read more

Came here on a recommendation from a local car dealer - we were waiting on a truck and he suggested we grab lunch here. What a great suggestion! We started with the Ezogelin lentil soup, which was seasoned so nicely and was absolutely delicious. Also had some Ezme with turkish bread - again, seasoned so well, i couldn't stop eating! For our entree, we shared an order of Adana Kebab, which they split for us onto two plates. The lamb was juicy and flavorful, overall a delicious meal. I have been going there for over 10 years. They always had good food and service. I must say since they refurbished the interior, the service has been disastrous, I never write a review after one experience because you have to be fair to the establishment. This has been my third visit in the last 5 months, the most recent one was today around 5pm when I visited with my family. The place was not that busy they had 4 servers: the food was par at best and honestly it was very frustrating just to get a water refill or pay your bill. Please do better. read more

Decided to give this place a try considering it's right by Arabian cafe and I'm glad I did. The interior of the restaurant is very cozy and relaxing. My friend and I ordered a combination platter, she had the chicken shish and I had the lamb chop combination. They first brought out bread and salads; the bread was very fresh and the salad was a great as well. Both combination platters were all flavorful and the portion was great for the price. The service was great and I even forgot my phone and they were kind enough to hold it till I got back. I'll be coming back again for sure! read more
