It was a random choice but we absolutely loved Halva! Food was delicious and service was great as well. Ambiance is not fancy and space is a bit tight but food is made directly in front of your eyes and brought in fresh and hot. We had hummus for appetizer and it was very good and creamy. For entree we had liver shish kebab, one of the best ever. We wrapped up our meal with Turkish tea and cheese kunafa, made to order in advance so be ready to wait 15 min but it absolutely worth it, it was delicious! Definitely recommend Halva. read more

I apologize for never writing a review having ordered several times back when I was in New Jersey more. As with many others, I've not been to the actual restaurant but even though they were a bit further than some other Turkish spots, they happen to deliver for cheaper compared to most on UberEats/ other delivery apps. Very special note to the Beyran çorbası or Gaziantep Beyran Soup. This is a soup made with shredded lamb, garlic, pepper, black pepper, and rice. I wish this was more common on Turkish menus as this is a wonderful super flavorful soup. There's a good amount of spice and the lamb is very tender also. Highly recommended. Outside of this, I have ordered the Antep Kebab with Pistachio which consists of skewed charcoal-broiled ground beef patties marinated and dressed in pistachio. This was tasty also with tender beef. It came with a large side salad as well as some rice and I would recommended it. I have also had the Içli köfte which they also list as kibbeh as well as a wrap with Çöp Şiş or chopped lamb kebab. The köfte was fine with good flavor and while the inside of the wrap was very tasty and super full of lamb, I found the bread to be a little bit burnt and there it was a little bit too thick. Eventually I just eat the meat and other stuff out of the wrap which was perfectly fine also. No complaints about the delivery. This place was not on my list when we planned a Paterson food tour, but from a quick whiff I could tell the bland storefront was concealing something special. While I've had most of these Turkish dishes before, the flavors here were one notch up. The lentil soup was very rich, and perfect for dipping the hot fresh pitas. The vegan cig kofte were complex and refreshing, served with the typical lemon lettuce accompaniment. The cacik with a generous dollop of olive oil was phenomenal. Even though we went at the time specified when making the reservation, the soups did not arrive on time. Even though we arrived at the restaurant first, other people's orders were taken first. They brought the kid's food at the table very late (waited over 30+ minutes for the meatballs). The food was generally tasteless. The waitress was polite, but the waiter was rude, he put some bread on the plate of some of us within reach and threw the rest on the table without saying anything. One of the friends tried iftar menu. They also charged him extra for the soup and drinks included in the menu. In summary: employees are careless, unprofessional, food is tasteless. Like others, I placed an order an Uber Eats and it the delivery time kept changing and changing. The time kept delaying and I called over 15 times and no one picked up the phone. Then, in my opinion by mistake, someone picked up, then immediately hung up. Then, I called again and again and it seemed they turned their phone "off" in order to stop us from calling and them from hearing the phone ring. Not sure what type of reputable establishment does this, but in my opinion they are putting delivery times on Uber Eats 20-30 minutes just to draw people in, but in actuality take over 2 hours to delivery without follow up or explanation. That is a SCAM. It's quite sad really. The good reviews must be for in house dining. Either way, if they treat their customers like this for delivery, I can't imagine how great their customer service is in person. What a shame... read more
