Absolute scam, spent 31 dollars on a chicken platter and got 2 pieces of chicken, tried to ask about my order and was met with attitude

Read about this place, wanted to try it, and today we were in town for a wedding and needed lunch. Ta-DAAAH! I had in my mind a superior dining experience in Israel, a similar schnitzel-in-pita storefront in Hod HaSharon. There, because it's Israel, every aspect was superior: fresh, crispy, assortment of salads, and super fast. I was hoping for something similar here. Orange and chrome mid-century modern decor. Simple menu. Good service. Clean. Super impressed at first glance. I got schnitzel in pita, spouse got same in laffa bread, daughter got schawarma in laffa. All delicious and fresh. Service was friendly. It took a few minutes to get our order and they were not particularly busy, luckily we were not in a rush. Once the food came, it was worth the short wait! Bottom line: it's not Hod HaSharon, but pretty darn good for Teaneck! Would definitely return here! The only negative is that parking seems to be an issue. We visited this restaurant at 12 noon on a Sunday and it was impossible to park. I don't know where the people in all these cars were shopping, I sure didn't see a high amount of foot traffic. I have a feeling people just parked and left their cars, maybe attending an event elsewhere. So if you visit: plan time to park and walk! read more

Some people I work with wanted this spot so decided to try it. I ordered from the night before. For myself I ordered the Jersey beyond burger lunch special. I also ordered salads. This bill was very high for 5 items, of close to $100, which was crazy. When I arrived I parked on the street illegal because parking is terrible there. I walked in to a cute spot. I told the cashier my name and she got my food and I left. When I got in I ate and the sandwich wasn't great. I didn't like the spevial sauce or the mushrooms flavor. The fires were good though. Best restaurant in Teaneck. They have great portion sizes and best prices in town. Food is ready relatively quickly.

There was a family there with several small kids that were running around and screeching at the top of their lungs the whole time I was eating there (15 min). The place echos. I asked the counter guy with the accent and black hair to do something about that as one expects a quiet dining experience especially since the cost of food there is a bit expensive. The counter person suggested that I speak to the family if I wanted to and did absolutely nothing to quiet the situation. It was an unpleasant experience and I left with a headache. read more

I am liking this place more and more. I admit that it took them a while to build up a significant positive following; but that seems to have happened already, and they've successfully managed to maintain quality control during that post start up phase where many restaurants fail. These days I find myself ordering from them quite frequently via Uber Eats and Door Dash. read more

Shnitzel+ is a cool, kosher place in Teaneck, NJ. My "classic" schnitzel sandwich was delicious. The cutlet was great crispiness with juicy chicken. The baguette was fresh and tasty. Lettuce, tomato, mayo were fresh. I ordered lemon & oregano french fries which were served in a cool basket with a pick tool to eat them with which was cool. They were flavorful and just the right amount of greasiness. The modern decor is cool and well kept; they keep the place clean for sure. There was a nice selection of sauces on each table which I always appreciate. Complaints: 1) It seemed a bit pricey... My sandwich was $9.95 and probably could've been about $8.00. French fries were $3.95 which was okay I guess because they were freshly seasoned. So my subtotal was $13.90 and I didn't even get a drink. I guess I am paying a premium for the Kosher aspect? 2) After ordering my schnitzel, the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted to add fries to my order. I said yes, which is fine... but he should've pointed me in the direction of their lunch special which is any sandwich, fries or onion rings, can of soda for $12.95. Things like this bother me, especially considering the fact that the guy behind the counter was cool, and we chatted for about 10 mins while the food was being prepped. I am not going to let this mishap reduce Schnitzel+ from 4-stars to 3-stars, but I am tempted. The food was really tasty, which is of upmost importance in reviews for me! read more

The food is good but the problem is that when you are done ordering they sometimes add a tip when you say no to the tip and it has cost me a lot of money I have been there over 50 times and all the money from just the tips is 250 dollars and it is crazy read more

Schnitzel+ !!!!!!!!!!! Finally got to order from here yesterday for lunch after my failed attempt last Friday finding out the hard way they aren't open on Fridays. One thing I must say about schnitzel is when its good its good. This place has been inconsistent with the past two times we have ordered. The first time I ordered it was late in the day and the food (falafel sandwich) came hot and fresh. Yesterday I ordered around 12 and the food was not the freshest but still enjoyable. Yesterday I ordered with a few of my coworkers who weren't thrilled about their experience here but I know what they are capable of so I'm not holding it against them. We ordered 2 falafel with hummus, onion rings, oregano fries, 2 falafel pita sandwiches, and a classic fried schnitzel with no tomatoes. The falafel with hummus was not on point yesterday.. the falafel were cold and not crispy and hot like the first time we ordered from here, the hummus was good but nothing spectacular. The onion rings are the bomb and homemade! Definitely give those a go! Large perfectly crispy onion rings with a crunch to match, absolutely delicious. The fries were good but nothing crazy to tell you about them. The 2 falafel pita sandwiches I didn't order but my coworkers said it was lacking flavor and wished the falafel were hot and fresh as they should be. My classic fried schnitzel sandwich was delicious, hot and juicy chicken packed the inside with lettuce and I added their spicy mayo for a real nice kick. There is a $6 delivery fee that is automatically added to your bill and counts as a tip for the driver from what I was told so make sure you are aware of that and don't over pay. Deplorable conditions, we walked in to find a very dirty floor and tables. We walked up to the counter to place an order, the young mans first words were "we are closing at 10pm" and it was 9pm at the time. The noise from a large group was unbearable, their kids were screaming bloody murder the entire 45 minutes we sat there. The food. I ordered a lafa with only fries, humus and some chopped salad. So lets clarify NO MEAT AT ALL. it costs $16! Okay, lets say it was worth it, but it wasn't! There where only traces of humus, what they did was put an incredible amount of schug... it was covered in it, my lips were burning from the amount they spread on my lafa. The young families dinning at the time allowed their children to behave like it was a playground, and the food all over the floor was a major turn off. Never Again! read more

The owner was very nice and polite .He took our order even few minutes before they close and he was able to delivered in short time with the smile :) . The food was super good . Breakdown: great price, simple food served well, friendly staff. I arrived an hour before closing (10pm) on a Columbus Day (also Monday of a Jewish holiday week). We arrived to see a clean, spacious dining and ordering area, decorated with a modern flair. I was struggling to control all the orders for my family with the wall menu. A staff member noticed this and offered me a printed menu. Everyone wanted chicken strips, so we ended up ordering a large platter (24), as well as a beef slider, some onion rings, and I ordered the classic chicken sandwich (if done well, it's delicious, but if not, it can be dreadful). Usually my family of 7 can't get away dining at a kosher meat establishment for less than $80-100. Our bill this time, however, was a shocking $52! The food came out in a reasonable time. The portion sizes were appropriate, even a drop on the generous side. My sandwich bread was fresh, soft and delicious, and the perfectly cooked schnitzel paired well with the fresh, crisp vegetables. There was not too much sauce to sog it down, either. My family enjoyed their chicken fingers and onion rings and my husband said his slider was perfectly cooked. We will be back. Schnitzel plus is a great eatery with a wonderful ambiance. Family friendly. We go here all the time. Highly recommend the burgers, the schnitzel of course, and one of my personal favorites is the Laffa with schnitzel Israeli salad and cole slaw with hot sauce. The salads are pretty good too. It's a little on the pricier side for schnitzel, but I don't really expect anything different when it comes to kosher eating. The lemon oregano fries are also really good. A most bazaar collection of ingredients and flavors. I cant finish this "Mexican salad". I feel Mount Vesuvius brewing in my esophagus as I type this horrible review. Very very heavy on the grease wow....nicht git! Mexican salad? Huge amount of mashed avocado....not guac just plain avocado. Too many red onions. Chicken that tastes like it was marinaded in diesel fuel and fried in motor oil....okay I was being a bit (snarky on the diesel fuel comment). Marinated red pepper corn which I've never tasted on anything remotely Mexican before. These flavors are terrible!!! And all of it crammed in an itsy bitsy bowl so I am having the damnedest time separating this thing. The guy who "served" me...well hang on a second lets be honest. This guy is as Israeli as they come so he didn't "serve" me anything. What he did was some how find a way of making me indebted to him for opening up the restaurant in the first place. My disappointment, which can be easily rectified, was in the take out. We ordered almost $100 worth of food, specifically the platters, and there was no pita bread. It's a casual and clean place with various wrap, burger, and pita options. The prices are fair and the food is pretty good. I usually go with some type of burger or a falafel pita wrap. The falafels are as good as any other place and the pita is usually bursting with veggies (lettuces, tomatoes, pickles) and sauce. By the middle of the meal, the pita falls apart and I have to use a fork to finish my meal but I don't mind that at all. While the food is solid and the staff is friendly, be prepared to wait awhile. Sometimes it can take upwards of 15 minutes to get your meal (however simple it may be) even when only a few other tables are occupied. This is somewhat mind boggling to a new yorker. Pita is not rocket science - not even bio chem. In fact it's really more like legos since it's just a matter of assembling the ingredients together. During my last visit, I decided to put a timer on just for fun. I waited patiently for the first 10 minutes then I got up intermittently to peer inside the kitchen and make eye contact with the cook/cashier just to let them know, "hey man, I know you see me waiting." I did this in 2-minute intervals until, my pita finally at 16:47 after I ordered. If you enjoy a good pita and don't mind waiting for it, this is the place for you. read more

Queen Anne Road is home to a bevy of kosher establishments stretching across a variety of cuisines and when we're in the area, fixing for some freshly fried falafel pitas, Schnitzel+ is where we're headed. Bright, open, and colorful, the restaurant looks friendly and cheerfully dressed, with plenty of seating to go around. The service at the counter isn't quite at the level of amicability that the décor would suggest, but they get the job done. Over the past couple of visits, we've ordered from various parts of the wide menu, which includes burgers, wraps, and pitas. I've never had a complaint about the food, which is solid and well-portioned. The falafel pita, in particular, is monstrous and packed with fried fritters. Because it is doused with tahini sauce, it will begin to fall apart in your hands toward the last few bites but I have no qualms about getting a little messy for tasty fare. I'm especially a big fan of their garlic fries, which one should only order in a seriously committed relationship because they're saturated with flavor from several heads of garlic (or so it would seem). However, be warned that your meal will take some time to get to your table. During our last two visits, the restaurant had no more than four or five couples dining in but it took about fifteen minutes to get our food, which feels like a lot for a place that sells dishes you'd typically find in fast food eateries. Because the kitchen has a window, it's perplexing and even a little frustrating to wait for such a long period of time and see cooks working at such a leisurely pace. Yummy! Good service, great food, just so you know they also serve shawarma, and their shawarma is delicious no doubt about it. Besides that i would always go for the Mexican style schnitzel it is my favorite, and of course get so garlic French fries on the side. They have the best sauces to do dip your fries in, or just to put it in your pita/baguette making every bite better then the one before it. I go often with my kids. I am usually very satisfied. However this week really struck me that when the owner isn't there, the staff gets rude and more important, refuses to make any changes. My wife wanted the corn salsa that is usually dumped in a mess on top of her salad, on the side. She has done this before with no problem. The cashier said it was impossible despite that the salads are made to order!! Fine we just scratched it up to an annoying worker who didn't want to make any effort. But to make it worse, when we got the salad, it was like he was thrilled and gave us literally an 'I told you they couldn't do it'. He should have been embarrassed he not only broke my long time loyalty and here I am reporting it on Yelp. I know for the that the owner has done it for us and maybe he wasn't able to put the instruction in their computer so he called back to the kitchen instead. Icing on the cake is when this obnoxious cashier gave me the credit card slip with the tip portion open. Mixed feeling about this establishment. On the one hand their onion rings are amazing and probably the best kosher ones in town. Their kids menu aint bad either. On the other hand, the owner aint the nicest guy. One day I ordered food for my family of four and paid. After eating for a bit I went to purchase another bottle of water but the line was astronomical. After waiting on line for 5 minutes, I motioned to the cashier that I will be right back after handing the drink to my kids and pouring it for them. Within 3 seconds a cashier magically appeared by my table asking for payment on the drink. He was physically embarrassed and said the owner said he had to come over. What kind of owner does that? Walked in to order a salad to go. They were clearly busy and had people waiting. I asked a lady if I can order here I just need to look at the menu she said yes. I am ready to order and a man says it will take time, in not the nicest tone. I get you are busy but we are all struggling now, giving a teenager a tone is not the way to go. I have given this place 2 tries. Both times i got a schnitzel sandwich and both times it was mediocre at best. The chicken was flavorless, the buns stale and the condiments lacking (unless you like mayo in everyone). Nice variety for sandwiches and salads. The egg burger is my favorite dish on the menu even the place is know to be more of a chicken place. Their salads are decent, if a bit on the pricey side, I prefer the Mexican one as it offers a good variety of vegetables mixed in with the chicken. Onion rings are HUGE and crispy! Although the cashiers seem to always be unsure of what they're doing, the manager (I think he is at least, very nice Israeli guy) is always a pleasure. Being vegan, there are not a lot of options in the area, but this place gets my business for their laffa-sized falafel wrap. It's huge, and for $5.95, is worth the price. I am in love with the spice mexican baguette. If you go there do yourself a favor and order that. The bread is hard but soft enough to chew and the orn and guac and everything in between just blends together so good. The ony thing I do not like is the lemonade.
