Half Chicken - All Dark

Delivery ordered from here! First time Roasted chicken was so tender and it seems to be like my mother's food. Flavor wasn't very spicier or strong for digestion! Exactly what I wanted I will try to go to the restaurant soon and enjoy the the place

Halal chicken delicacy at its best! Highly recommend Its one of a best place to hangout with friends and family

Dined in today. We got the full chicken with two sides. The grilled chicken was nice and flavorful especially the spices. Medium was perfect. Pairing that with white sauce and it's delicious. Also it's a pretty healthy meal all things considered. Good stop for a fast causal meal. For the sides we had the yucca fries and salad. To be honest, the fries were on the stiff side. Not a lot of flavor. 3/5. If you dine in, the tables were wooden so it's very sticky. Service at the front was fine. I do notice that they don't really clean and clear tables. Probably a slower evening but the whole time we sat and got the food and ate and left the table across from us still was not cleaned. Overall, I'd still come back for the meal. But they can improve and make the experience a lot better!

Ordered via delivery service got 2 quarter legs and 3 wings and side combo. I got peri peri fries which honestly was tasty and plentiful. I would get that again. The combo came with 3 pieces wings which were just okay. The lemon flavor was underwhelming. The medium sauce is amazing. I paid extra for garlic sauce which also wasn't to my taste. The chicken was juicy, well cooked, but lacked any flavor. The included medium sauce saved this meal.

Plenty of food for left over

First time here and the food was amazing and fresh, will def be coming back, the guy in the front was informative on the specials and it was quick and easy.

Service & Ambiance: 3/5. You order at the register and the food is served to you at your table. The dining area is very casual. Food: 4/5. A summary of what I ordered: Half Chicken (Hot): 5/5. The chicken was very spicy and savory with a nice char on the outside and soft and juicy inside. Definitely try a less spicy option first if you're not used to eating spicy food, but this is an excellent choice for heat lovers. Peri Peri Fries: 4/5. Crunchy, nicely spiced fries but a bit too much on the salty side. Peri Mayo Corn: 3.5/5. Corn in savory mayo sauce. This was also a bit too salty for my liking. Chicken Burger: 3/5. Grilled peri peri chicken tender (you choose the heat level), with lettuce tomato, peri mayo sauce in between two slices of Ciabatta. Very basic and not that impressive, the taste is mostly that of the peri peri chicken which you might as well get stand-alone. Conclusion: You will enjoy it if you like spicy chicken. I recommend trying it.

I happened to be in the area and found this spot on Google Maps. It's located on a back street with shared parking lot. I went during lunch and it was pretty empty, I had had the place pretty much to myself. The store is very clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly and professional. I opted for a chicken bowl and a quarter chicken with pita. I wasn't in the mood for heavy spice so I opted for medium and it was perfect. The chicken was nice and tender with a subtile kick. They do warn you that their hot an every hot options are crazy, so if you are into that, it's available. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. Worth trying if you are into Portuguese chicken.

I've been on the search for a really good peri peri chicken place since leaving CA. There's one we used to frequent all the time in Palo Alto, CA, but today we discovered Tribos Peri Peri in Saddle Brook, NJ and boy did it hit the spot!!! Reminiscent of our favorite Palo Alto joint, this place hands down puts me in my happy place! Must try! 6 lemon herb wings. WARNING: They are quite spicy!
Monica D.

Ordered the falafel app to share and I got the quarter dark meat chicken with medium sauce and regular size fries. My mom ordered the 6 wings with lemon herb sauce and yucca fries. The falafel was really good, nice sized and crispy exterior with a soft filling, yogurt sauce was great. Both regular orders of fries and yucca were actually enough to share. My chicken was very good, moist and flavorful and the heat level was what I expected, the piece of meat was on the small size though. My mom does not eat spicy food and said her wings were quite hot. She ordered them because they were listed on the bottom of the heat levels, she couldn't finish them. Those were also very below average sized. I would go back to try other items.

This is my go to halal spot in the area! It's taste, portion size, and price is Incomparable to other restaurants in the area. My only concern is the delivery services that fulfill the orders. Every time I deliver my food through them, the drivers always steal the food and I never see it (Uber eats, postmates, etc). At first I thought I just got bad drivers, but it happens no matter what service I use with this place. It's not the restaurants fault but keep in mind that pickup should be your first choice.

I've been to Tribos Peri Peri a few times now... And every time I go I am never disappointed. Yes they may take a little longer to get the food out to you than other places, but that's because they prepare the food right then and there instead of it laying around for a while. The freshness definitely gets five stars in the service there always comes with a smile. The sides are really great too. One thing that I really like about this restaurant is that during Ramadan (and I'm not Muslim myself) they offer a buffet to break the first. The place had many customers show up and the food was really fresh and wonderful. Every time I come with friends, we are greeted by very kind Staff and once in a while the owner will even lead by example and work at the counter.

$15.99 for this hard lamb strips. Never again.

I was driving home and this place was closest to the one I usually frequent. When I came to pick up the food, I was handed a check with a charge that horrified me. Not only am I paying credit card charges..now, but the now added a $2 packing fee. I was shocked, are we now supposed to bring our own containers and maybe pack the food ourselves???? This was a take out order, directly through the restaurant, no third parties and I came to pick it up myself. The order was for over $120 and to be charged a packing fee is absurd. Not sure what management was thinking, but needless to say, NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. ...WILL NOT BE ORDERING AGAIN

I was agreeable. Dinner would be her Christmas gift to me. I picked her up and we drove to the Viva Margarita in Wallington, where we often eat. In the past I wrote a positive review about them. It was about 1pm when we pulled in, and the parking lot was empty, except for 1 car containing 2 guys. I tried the front door of the restaurant; it was locked. I know a lot of restaurants close on Christmas Day (I have vivid memories of being on my own on Christmas Day over 20 years ago, and the only restaurant I could find open after an increasingly desperate search was a Chinese take-out place at an otherwise empty mini-mall in Wayne), but why Christmas Eve? I got into the car, shrugged. My birth mother looked at the 2 guys in the other car. They looked away. I glanced over, saw them looking at us again, but they quickly turned away when they saw me giving them the once-over. I was hoping they were going to get out of the car and proceed to open the place up, but they remained seated, staring straight ahead when they weren't casting furtive glances our way. Were they, like us, potential patrons confused about whether the place was going to open or not? Were they employees (I quickly chastised myself-- Sure, Mr. Liberal, just because they look Hispanic, they must be employees. So much for your pompously self-declared progressive ideals...)? Maybe they thought WE were the employees, and were waiting for us to open the place up? Maybe they were just 2 guys who parked in an empty parking lot to talk, or smoke, or whatever. After a few more seconds of increasingly ridiculous back-and-forth looks, I finally stated the obvious to my birth mother: "This place must be closed." "What about those guys in the car next to us?" "I don't know, but I don't think we're getting inside today." As I pulled away, she mentioned El Cid in Paramus. I had never heard of it, but she said she had gone there a few times over the years and that they served pretty good burgers and such. I was game. I followed her directions north through Lodi, Rochelle Park, and into Paramus. El Cid is a pretty big place, and parking was plentiful. George Washington Cemetery, where my parents are buried, is only a stone's throw away. Inside, we were escorted through a spacious dark paneled room to a table in the corner and presented with menus and a basket of fresh bread. The prices on the menu were very high, and my birth mother agreed that they must have upgraded things entirely since she last ate here. I offered to help with money, but she declined, insisting it was her treat. I could pay the tip, which I did. Let's just say the tip cost as much as I might pay for a entire meal in some lesser establishment. I can't remember what she had, but I ordered Arroz Con Pollo, which was Spanish rice with chicken breast. The addition of chorizo was an extra charge. I was tempted, but given that Mom was paying, I denied myself. Turns out, it was just as well. The food was plentiful and delicious. It seemed a more simplified version of Paella, which I used to eat at the Portuguese restaurants on Ferry St. in Newark back in the ancient days of my youthful gluttony. That paella was served with all kinds of chicken, seafood and sausage, but now, in my old age, I didn't miss all that over-abundance. El Cid's version was more limited in terms of ingredients-- Spanish rice and chicken breast-- but it was perfect. Plenty of stellar food that left me completely full, but not to the point where I was uncomfortable. It was served with Spanish chips, which were tasty, crispy, and not oily like the potato chips from my childhood (and adolescence). Spanish chips were unfamiliar to me, but they were excellent. For dessert, we split a large, creamy slice of carrot cake. Service was friendly and efficient. Bathrooms were clean. Like I've said, the prices here are, plebeian that I am, VERY high but the food is wonderful, and there's plenty of it. Highly recommended.

We came on a Saturday night around 8:00pm and the restaurant was packed, with diners filling every room and even the bar area. Thankfully we had reservations and were seated right away. Parking can get tight on busy nights, so we used the valet, which made things easier. We started with a table favorite, chouriço, perfect for sharing while settling in. I ordered one of my go-to Portuguese dishes, Carne à Alentejana, tender cubes of pork loin sautéed with little neck clams, wine, and fresh cilantro. It delivered exactly what I was hoping for, savory, balanced, and deeply comforting. Others at the table enjoyed the broiled Mediterranean octopus and the Chilean sea bass with caper sauce, both well prepared. Service was attentive throughout, and they even offer to take a table photo for you. Portions are generous, the dining room is spotless, and the classic crumb-scraping after the meal is a nice old-school touch. Short of heading to Newark's Portuguese enclave, this is one of the best options in the area.
