Star Cuisine is a local eatery in Fort Lee situated in a small plaza with a few other businesses. Very limited parking (about 6 spots) in a tiny lot. I popped in on a Monday afternoon and I had the whole store to myself. There's a few tables for seating but it looks like more of a take-out place. They mainly serve Japanese cuisine with a few Chinese options. They have a verrrry extensive menu... full sushi bar, sushi burritos, bento boxes, teriyaki, noodles, poke bowls, oh my! To quench your thirst, they also sell bubble tea and smoothies. I decided on the Ocean Burrito and the Sesame Chicken Hot Bowl with white rice and veggies. Service was quick and I got my food within a few minutes. -Ocean Burrito ($15) 4/5: YUMMMM! I love the concept of sushi burritos! This came with tuna, salmon, imitation crab, avocado, cucumber, lettuce, tempura batter, and ponzu sauce wrapped in sushi rice and seaweed. It also came with a side of spicy mayo and eel sauce. Every ingredient was fresh and I'm happy they didn't skimp out on the fish portions. The sauces were delicious! It was a little messy to eat and hard to bite through because of how dense it was. -Sesame Chicken ($11) 2/5: I was really disappointed with this... I've had better from Chinese take-out. The chicken was dry and nowhere near close to being tender. There was too much batter and it was overfried, so I felt like I was just eating crispy breading. The sauce was also unusual... Sesame chicken sauce is usually made with sugar, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, honey, sweet chili, ketchup, and vinegar... but this tasted like the creamy white sauce used for coconut shrimp... I would still come back, but I'll stick to their sushi. read more

I always order pick-up from Star Sushi when I'm in the area running errands. The food is so good and the prices are super reasonable. The Crunchy Crab Roll is always part of my order (can't skip it!), and I've also had the Shrimp Tempura Roll and the Spider Roll all so delicious. I usually just walk in, give my name, grab my bag, and go, but the staff always make sure to wish me a great day. It's a small thing, but it makes the experience even better. The place itself is cute too you could definitely sit down and enjoy a solo meal or even a nice little date there. If you're in the neighborhood, I definitely recommend it! read more

Good, local sushi spot in town. I tried some of their rolls and they were delicious. They don't skimp out on the fish and portion size was good for the price. The quality of the fish was good and I was pleasantly surprised. Service was good and the rolls were made within 15 minutes. Call ahead and pick up. First time ordering from this establishment and the food was excellent. The sweet potato tempura with the ginger dipping sauce was out of this world. What a hidden gem! Located on a tiny strip of 4 stores, this place has a LOT to offer. The menu is seriously huge! I really liked their chicken teriyaki special. It is well worth every penny. You get well seasoned chicken that you can tell has been marinated for some time and cooked to order. With side sushi, couple of fried dumplings, veggies, miso soup AND salad with ginger sauce for under $20!!! The main reasons I KNOW this place is legit is: the ginger sauce is on point! When you go to Japanese spot their GINGER sauce HAS to leave you wanting more and hit your tastebuds in a certain way! And, their wasabi was not watered down, it packed a KICK! The other point is they marinated the chicken and not just drenched it in teriyaki sauce. So there is quality precision making skills used here. I will be stopping by again for sure! read more

Terrible, I ordered a poke bowl for 15 dollars and the food barely reached half of the bowl. They skimped out on the all the protein and the extras they filled it with rice. This place used to be good and give good portions but now they just give overpriced less than half full bowls with crappy fish quality. read more

Today was my fourth time coming here and I have not yet been disappointed. Every time we come we try to get something different but today we got Cream Cheese Roll, Crunchy Roll, Star Crispy Roll with spicy tuna, Mango Tango Roll, Jumbo Dynamite Roll, Orange Chicken Bowl, and Salmon Nigiri. Everything we had was soo flavorful and soo fresh. We don't have a lot of sushi places near where I live anymore so I'm happy I found this place. This is a solid No frills neighborhood takeout sushi spot. The sushi and sashimi are good and fresh, and reasonably priced. The takeout and delivery orders are packaged well with a good presentation. However, they are inconsistent with the rice, so sometimes it's over cooked or under cooked. read more

After a great recommendation from a reliable friend, we finally ordered from Star instead of our usual sushi place. My partner order the 3 scoops of protein over salad, I had nigiri sushi, we shared the shrimp Shumai & we each had miso soup. While the food was ok, unfortunately the order was packed with the warm shumai placed directly on top of the sushi, and the containers of miso soup put right next to the 3 scoops of protein. I'd like to order again, and hope that more attention would be paid to packing the order. Also, the delivery took much longer than originally stated. read more
