Fire roll, tuna sashimi, yellowtail scallion roll and C. roll. FYI, minus several pieces for this photo. Rolls are huge to fit my board.

Amazing sushi!, Amazing price! When most places skimps and raise their prices, PJ sushi will not disappoint you.

Yellowtail, eel, and spicy tuna without the Mayo. Great portion!

Absolutely delicious and fresh sushi! Great portions too!! It's not exciting when you walk in, but WOW was the food good! The miso soup was delicious and my yellowtail, eel, and spicy tuna (no Mayo) were great. My friend loved the squid salad.

PJ Sushi = VALUE. You get pretty good sushi for a great price AND the service is quick and friendly. My family (of 6) LOVES this place and we order here at least once or twice a month. We have not been disappointed which is why I am giving a rating of 5 stars. Our favorite rolls are the david special, shrimp tempura, salmon avocado, and dragon roll. Also really love their sashimi. A few things to note: - The sushi is not super high quality (they're pretty big and fall apart sometimes) but it is REALLY REALLY good for what you're paying. Their sashimi pieces are also huge and really tasty :) - The place is a small mom and pops shop with indoor seating, but it's probably better to order to go. The inside is kinda dark and empty. tldr: if you're in the area and want good sushi for a good price, go to PJ sushi.

Good CASUAL sushi. Lunch combos are a deal. Basic nigiri,, sashimi, and rolls. Sushi rice was surprisingly acceptable. Everything was fresh and tasted good. Small dining area and canned/bottled drinks in the fridge. Otherwise grab a slurpee from 7-11 next door. Not destination dining, but I wouldn't hesitate to stop by the next time I'm in Fort Lee.

This is one of those "don't judge a book by its cover", because it's a hidden gem! The storefront is as boring as a doorknob. In fact, the store will appear closed, but it is fully functional and open. Indoor dining is currently closed, so only take-out orders at this time. The menu stands out for sure, and will make you come back again to try all of it. They have a wide variety of specialty rolls and sets that makes your appetite hungrier than it is. What makes it stand out for me is the VALUE you get. The sushi I bought tasted very fresh in texture, and THEY WERE HUGE ROLLS!!! One specialty roll was only $10, yes ONLY $10...not a penny more! There isn't any roll in their menu that's over $10 from what I remember. I even wonder if they make any profit here. Seeing many people coming in while I waited assured me that you get freshness with every order, because they pump out a ton in volume at these prices. This is VALUE & QUALITY at its finest!

    P6 and p7 I think

Great portions and price. The sushi are very fresh and the nigiri are good chunks of meat. The only downside is pickup only. I assume this is how they keep their costs low.

*Quarantine Pick Up Review* Ordered for pick up one early Saturday evening. I couldn't find them on any apps (which is understandable, especially right now since I've been reading that these apps take a huge chunk of the profits). But it's also kind of annoying because it means 1. I have to call to place an order, and talk to people (but I guess at this point, human interaction is nice) 2. Hand-off of a credit card to pay (BTW, they don't accept Amex) 3. Because of said hand-off of credit card, you have to touch one of the germ pens to sign the receipt. I did think of bringing my own pen, but didn't have that thought until mid-drive, and there were no pens in the car. But other than that, I must say - this is one of the better fushi (fake sushi) places I've tried. The prices are incredible, and the portions are ginormous. I feel like a roll here is double the size of other comparable places. There is a lot of rice in the rolls, but it matches the amount of fish inside. They don't skimp on it here. We had the PJ special roll (tuna, salmon, and spicy shrimp), the Tuna Set (tuna roll + 4 pcs of tuna), and the Crunchy Spicy Salmon Combo (1 Crunchy Spicy Salmon roll +3 pcs of salmon). There is a lot going on in the PJ roll but if you're just looking for a bunch of raw fish, then this is the roll. I didn't really taste any spice from the shrimp. The tuna and salmon set were great as well. As I mentioned - huge pieces of fish. Love that. I think PJ Sushi is the best quality/quantity for its price. As if they prices weren't cheap enough, they offer sushi platters for $50 and they even have lunch specials (only until 3 though, so we just missed it). Can't wait to come back! I think I have found my new go-to sushi spot.

this is and has been my go to sushi spot for years, the fish is so fresh and the prices are great too! my favorite roll is the david's special. the owners are always so kind. [[HIGHLIGHT]]i was so excited that their indoor dining area is back open, it's small but very clean inside and well taken care of.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] pj sushi is the best!

Overall: More sushi for your money Ambience: It's a small place, not your date night spot or all you can eat place either. This is more for a good takeout. Very little seating inside. No parking either but easy to find parking on the street. Menu: Lots of sushi options. Their regular salmon and tuna rolls are $6, while the special rolls are $9. You get your money's worth for the rolls. I love their volcano and dragon rolls. Anything with spicy sauce on it doesn't last more than a few hours because the sauce makes it soggy. Drinks: Haven't tried anything off their menu. I paid it with a saki at home or beer. Price: Very economical for the sushi. Service: The staff here is very very nice!

I went to PJ Sushi for lunch and ordered the sushi platter with 2 California rolls, 2 shrimp tempura rolls, 2 eel rolls, 1 dragon roll, and 1 spicy tuna roll (around 60 pieces). The sushi was pretty good quality. The rice around the rolls was not the most stable, but the ingredients were tasty. There was a nice variety as well. The eel and dragon rolls were my favorites. For $56, this was a decent deal, as it fed 4 people. As for the interior design, PJ Sushi could definitely benefit from a renovation or spruce-up. Half of the light bulbs inside were out and there wasn't much in terms of interior decor. It's not the nicest looking restaurant from the outside or inside, but the food makes up for it. The service speed is pretty quick. Overall, PJ Sushi has good sushi at affordable prices, especially if you are coming with a group of around 4 people and order one of the platters. I would recommend coming here if you can overlook the so-so appearance.

This one is older and the ambience is not quite as nice/private, but we had a great meal here. I love their sets! The sashimi is incredibly fresh. I'm usually not a huge fan of Korean oysters, but the ones we had here were the freshest I've ever had. Next time I come I will probably ask for the fresh fluke (?) sashimi to come out first before the assorted sashimi, because that was the absolute best and it was a shame we barely had room left to enjoy it. Service was very friendly and they even gave us the live octopus appetizer on the house because it was my FIL's birthday, which was very sweet of them.

It's such great value with so many delicious appetizers before the star of the show - the sashimi! Of note, some of the appetizers are definitely an acquired taste (e.g. the raw sea squirt, oyster & abalone(?) platter) & are not my favorite. However, I love the octopus salad, the croquettes, the fried fish, the steamed egg, (honestly there are too many to name -- you should come here to experience it!!). After the delicious sashimi which is enjoyed with sesame oil & seaweed, you also get a handball & seafood soup w the fish bones ). We're usually so full by the end that we take the soup to go for the next day! The 2 person set is definitely big enough for 3. If you come with a bigger group, it comes with lobster which is also delicious and elevates the soup! I also recommend the "live" octopus which is fun to eat as it slightly moves in your mouth (it is already dead when you eat it but because it is so recently killed, the reflexes are still intact). Service is pretty fast & responsive as well! It's great for families, dates, and hangouts.

I ordered the Unagi Don Gozen ($42)- it came with a whole tray of different delicious items, with the star of the show being a generous amount of unagi (eel) over rice. The eel was cooked very well and the rice was flavorful with a bit of sweetness. There was also a small bowl of udon noodles, some sashimi, a crispy tempura shrimp in a yummy creamy sauce, flavorful edamame, mashed potato with corn, and some pickled veggies - quite the diverse array, all of which was tasty. The restaurant itself has a rather simple yet elegant Japanese wooden design. The prices suggest it's a more high end place, but the vibe is actually rather casual. The staff are very attentive and the service speed is pretty quick. Overall, I would definitely give Moru 4.5 stars if I could. I think it's great for most types of occasions, and the only reasons it's not getting 5 stars is because I do think the prices are a tad higher than I would've hoped and I think they could've done a bit more in terms of designing the place to match the price point. That being said, I still highly recommend Moru, especially for a nice lunch.

If you are thinking, no need to think. Go! Trust me! You won't regret it! First of all, the sushi chefs are Japanese, so you know that the sushi is going to be legit. And it was busy there from customers and take-out, so you know that everything will be fresh, too. There were so many options to choose from the menu, so I had to ask for a recommendation. My friend and I were recommended to try the omakase option and, boy, that was a perfect choice! There were 3 types of omakase and we chose the first one. -Sushi omakase - $70 -Sashimi omakase - $80 -Sushi & sashimi omakase - $90 This was my first omakase experience where I walked out super full and impressed. -We were advised to eat each piece without soy sauce because each piece was curated with their own unique flavors. -After our first bite, we were advised that we could ask the sushi chef to adjust the rice and wasabi ratio in each sushi piece. We decided to keep it as is. -The wasabi here is really good, but spicy, so if you can't handle the spiciness, definitely ask for less. I was crying because of the wasabi but I didn't want it to be adjust because it was so good. -On the menu, it states that you have 2 hours, which allowed us to enjoy the omakase at a nice pace. -The udon soup you get in the end is made with hand-cut, chewy noodles and it was a perfect ending. -And this omakase also includes a dessert at the end, which was a perfect sweet ending. I hope you made the right decision to come here for your sushi craving/experience. Once you come here, I bet this will be your regular sushi spot. Tips: -Yamagata in a small shopping plaza with parking, but it fills up fast. There is metered parking on the street if needed. -This place is cozy and intimate, so if you are planning to come at a busy time, I would suggest calling to make a reservation. -For the omakase experience, if you can, sit at the sushi counter so that you could get the full experience by getting each sushi piece from the sushi chef.
