    Sushi sashimi
    Jazmin-Jean F.

Got take out from this place and ordered sushi sashimi which was 2/3$ a piece and their eel roll with cream cheese and avocado. The roll was delicious definitely wished there was more bc this whole order didn't fill me up. Sashimi was awesome too! Satisfied my craving. Nothing disappointed with this order just nothing was amazing prompting me to do 5 stars. I will try again bc I am new to the area and trying to find my go to sushi place.

One of my go to affordable sushi places; only con is the seating and inside. All their effort is in that food and I'm happy with just that too. Perfect for a nice night in with time to yourself and good wine. Sushi is my go to some me time dinner and this hits the spot but yes you've to pick up the order. No delivery I think.

Doesn't look like much when you walk past since it looks like half of a storefront, but the food is great considering there isn't a better option within a few blocks of this place. Due to covid, the prices have gone up, but that is the case with a lot of places. My favorites here are the miso soup, California rolls, and chicken teriyaki with the noodles. The miso soup is among the best I've ever had. All in all, good spot for a quick grab-n-go when you are craving sushi.

A hidden gem! If you are looking for sushi, this is the place. The prices are PHENOMENAL compared to the usual Bergen County sushi places. You can get enough sushi to actually be full without spending a fortune!! They also have some pretty awesome lunch specials too. Their vegetable roll is pretty unique! I'm not sure what's in there, I think maybe some sort of radish along with cucumber, avocado, and I think a piece of onion. It gives it such a variety and it's nice and super crunchy! They have the best miso soup I've ever had and we got the vegetable udon. The broth was so good and the noodles were cooked to perfection! And the fried rice was really amazing too. Everything was really just so perfect. The staff is also so nice! My mom and I wanted sushi so so so bad but everywhere was closed. I called this place up and they were closing up but the owner said it's okay I'll send you the menu right now! He texted me the menu and he let us order whatever we wanted. They got our order done in about 30 minutes, which I think is pretty impressive for sushi! They were super pleasant when I came inside to pick it up and they really hooked me up with a bunch of spicy mayo (I'm obsessed with spicy mayo.) This will be my forever sushi place now!

No you don't have to travel to NYC to get good sushi. This is a hidden gem. The spicy tuna is actually spicy and there's lots of crunch if you like that. Good service and fresh ingredients.

Price: I ordered from menus on Yelp and realized prices went up from $16-17 to $22! Food: Decent, they have other types of fish that you typically won't see in chirasi bowl around the area. Same goes for salad, I think I've seen soups come with but not both salad and soup. Fish were cut too small in my opinion but otherwise fresh. 2 stars for price mainly

Went for Weekday Lunch Special Food - 3/5. Miso soup was a bit too empty as it was nothing but broth. Salad had nice ginger dressing. The sushi and sashimi were not too great. They were very bland and cold with none of the fish having much flavor. The sashimi cuts were too thick for such small sizes which made it really hard to enjoy the textures. Service - 4/5. Service was a bit slow but went smooth otherwise. Value - 2/5. The price point is good at $13 but the food wasn't enjoyable. The cuts of the fish are so small that it feels like they wanted to technically fit the menu description of 9 slices but do it in the minimal amount of fish possible. It felt like a very skimpy tactic, which makes for a bad dining experience. Parking - Street (Metered)

I wish you were here at the best sushi restaurant ever. Please try this sushi place. The fried ice cream was delicious. The volcano sushi was super delicious. The shrimp sushi was super super delicious. There is also soda. But the sushi was the best. They have salads, rice, and soup. There are rolls, appetizers, roll specialty, and sushi of course. Also, there are sashimi, sushi sashimi combination, roll combination, and a la carte.Come to Marathon Sushi! Ehhhh... A lot of hype I think. Overall the rolls were good.. But nothing crazy out of this world. First let me tell you about the venue. It has 5 tables all 2 sweaters and then 3 seats for the sushi bar. Very quaint and friendly service. We were the only 2 in the restaurant at 7pm on a Wednesday for dinner. It took almost AN HOUR to get our food. Ummmmm... How do they handle it when this place is packed ? I could not even imagine how slow the service would be. There was about 3 pick up orders that came in while we were waiting there. There is only 1 sushi man. And one helper who just stands there waiting for the sushi guy to be finished to packed the sushi. --- I was starving and not having it. Food: - gyoza: fried . I didn't eat this but my friend said it was extra crispy and pretty good. But she's very easy to please... I just didn't want anything fried (sorry) - sunset roll: the best roll hands down. The mango really has the perfect touch -- my friend and I both agreed it was easily the best one - marathon: since sunset and marathon were the most recommended on their yelp page. It was okay - dragon roll: eel is eel. They do put a lot of avocado on all their rolls that are topped with avocado which I appreciate cause most places skimp out. - rock&roll: was okay.. - sashimi regular: thinnest pcs of sashimi I've seen. But they were good. Nothing to be raving about. Total price: $76 Side notes: - they use very little rice - lots of avo - smaller than normal size rolls. Thinner I should say - thinly sliced sashimi - free tea& refills - didn't charge us for extra spicy mayo on the side Mmmmmm I wasn't that impressed. I feel like It's overpriced for their portions. Definitely not memorable.

The fish was all delicious and all had some kind of unique topping, and some were also torched. Each piece was truly one bite and I preferred this to the bigger nigiri that eats more messily. Typically at sushi places I stick to salmon, tuna, and yellowtail, so I had some reservations about whether I would like everything, but really everything was tasty. Some of my favorites were the appetizer yuzu yellowtail with microgreens, and then amberjack (who knew!). The wagyu had a truffle topping and it was a great piece but I am not sure it was necessary and next time would probably just opt for the standard classic set. The waitress was very friendly and the chefs checked in throughout the meal and seemed to care that we were enjoying the nigiri. A few times we were asked if we wanted add on ons (drinks, and then sushi add ons later). I would have preferred if the menu was just maybe left without explicit solicitations to order more. But other than that not sure anything could have been better. The restaurant is simple, understated, and minimalist. Though right on a busy street the outside is so narrow and understated that it would be easy to walk by every day and miss this place. Would highly recommend for an extremely good and reasonably priced omakase experience.

I think there are other places that def give you more pieces for the price. The appetizer was monkfish liver with some salad - the monkfish liver was okay - def needed the sauce otherwise it would have been dry. I enjoyed the king salmon and otoro pieces. Overall I think the fish could have been fresher. Staff was very friendly and attentive!

I wasn't really a huge fan of the appetizer to be honest - the set of 3 all tasted pretty mediocre (the cod tasted a bit old, the yuzu did not pair with the fluke) and the snow crab tasted like store-bought crabmeat with mayo. So overall, was disappointed with these. As for the nigiri - most of them were pretty good. The fish was good quality and the one that really blew me away was the uni don - the uni and roe were EXTREMELY fresh, blew my mind. It was the best uni I had in a while. The wagyu handroll was also delicious and decadent. The last handroll - hamachi handroll - was a bit flavorless though. Dessert was good - a really light matcha pudding that was the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, I enjoyed my experience but not sure if I would come back. Note: they will charge you for water unless you ask for tap. That was an unexpected surprise on my bill
