Lobster tempura roll

* "Absolutely amazing sushi spot. The rice was perfect. The sashimi was fresh and well portioned."

Angela YJ B.

Though we live in the Bergen County, and have heard about this place, it was our first time at Hachi Sushi in Fort Lee. We had Manager's Lunch special ($22) which includes a small udon, tempura, 3 pieces of sushi, & spicy tuna roll. A good portion for a reasonable amount of money. Although nothing was too special, they serve hot tea with the meal, and on a cold day, it was a great addition.

Best sashimi in Ft Lee hands down. Never a disappointment. You can only disappoint me once when it come to raw fish.

Best sushi I've had yet. Place is BYOB. We sat at the sushi bar which was a perfect place. The sushi was so fresh and delicious. Crowded and small but thats how you know its good. Shoutout to the Snow White roll, delicious.

Amazing quality , great sushi !

It has been over 10 years since my last review so I thought I would post an update, this place still has one of the best sushi in town , and the service is so friendly and makes you feel welcomed. Price is also super reasonable. Highly recommend this place!

I had a big sushi craving - Hachi more than delivered! It's conveniently located in the same plaza as H Mart so you can pop over for a meal as soon as you're done buying all those Asian snacks. Lots of parking available and easy turn back onto the main street. We went there for an early New Year's dinner and ordered way too much (again). The prices seem on par with other sushi places in the area and a little less than if you cross the bridge but the portions and the freshness definitely stood out. My mom and my husband both ordered the Chirashi deluxe (the regular chirashi was $5 less) and we were pleasantly surprised to see it came adorned with a massive prawn, as well as uni. My sashimi deluxe had generous cuts of the more premium stuff, like fatty tuna and scallop, as well as more salmon than I could finish. The tamago, which generally feels like an afterthought for some sushi places, was my favorite piece - really fluffy and light and sweet, with visible layers. The only nit is I wish they had given some rice with the sashimi - I had to steal some rice from my mom. Also ordered the Robbie roll for the table. Really liked the combo of ingredients and, well, you can't go wrong with spicy crispy salmon and a layer of torched tuna belly on top. Overall, I think for four people who were abundantly stuffed by the end, it came out to about $160 before tip. Service was friendly and patient, even though we came at an off hour on a holiday. I can see why they've been in business for over 10 years!

Have been going to Hachi Sushi for years and it's my favorite go-to in Fort Lee. About 1 year ago the restaurant was taken over by the former owners nephew. It was always solid, but now it is FANTASTIC!!!!! If you look at the reviews, everything from the last year is almost consistently 5 Stars! The new chef owner is an innovator. And while you can still order the usual and tasty classic Japanese dishes, sitting at the sushi bar is a completely different experience. The sky is the limit and you can get a real taste of his talent by letting him just make things for you. It's not a typical Omakase, because he just knows what to make for his regulars and no one is getting the same thing. Tonight I wanted something I had eaten in the Tokyo fish market before and mentioned to the chef. He made me a masterpiece meal. See below. You cannot go wrong eating at Hachi Sushi. Great food, very fair prices, cozy atmosphere and great vibes. BTW, it is the only BYOB around with a liquor store across the street with a superb sake collection.

Great local sushi spot!! The fish was so fresh and they had some nice variety for a local spot. The service was very good as well - all staff was very pleasant. Will definitely be coming back!

Came with salad miso soup california roll and shumai so was a lot of food. The special sushinlunch had twmpura which was fried perfectly. The price was very reasonable for.the quality and quantity. I got the yubu unagi and my friend got the yubu ikura. Both were really good, the rice used was very flavorful. It was a great appetizer. My friend loves fish roe and she said hers was very good. They are known for dipping ramen, but I didn't get that. I got the tonkotsu broth Ajitama because I didn't want that much meat and I wanted to make sure I got an egg. The broth was delicious, not too salty but very rich and umami in flavor. I love the addition of wood ear mushroom and the noodles had a great chewy texture. They have some claw machines in the front, it's $5 minimum spend which gets you 5 coins, each machine is one coin and there is one machine that gives you two tries for one coin. I ended up getting a prize! Not the one I wanted but was happy.

The service was good, especially considering there were only two people seating guests, taking orders, delivering food, and busing tables for the entire restaurant. Each table has a unique QR code where you can order and pay online, and the food is delivered directly to your table without having to wait for a server to take your order or bring the bill. I would definitely come back again to try their spicy tonkotsu ramen!

The soft shell crab was yummy and perfectly fried but we preferred dipping it into the yellowtail sauce. The yellowtail was a little overcooked and not the best piece. My friend complained that the meat was too tough as it was not just the collar portion. I usually find overcooking the yellowtail quite difficult since it's normally very tender. The cheesy corn chicken was delicious. Love the little pieces of corn in the cheese and the texture and taste of the chicken. The interior of the restaurant is clean, bright and relaxing. Service was good. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have the Orion draft available. Around $3 per hour and the restaurant will refund you the first hour. Plus if you pay cash, you get 12% off. I would definitely check the bill as there was definitely a discrepancy with the parking reimbursement and cash discount. Overall, I think the food is better than norm and would definitely come back or visit/try the Manhattan location.

My son got a bit of a kick out of the random frogs they have placed around the restaurant. Food tip: Although they have lunch and dinner menus, you are allowed to order off the dinner menu if the lunch menu is not something you want. We ordered the fried dumplings $12, 2 salmon lovers, chirashi bowl, udon for the kids, chilled buckwheat and acorn jelly bowl, spicy octopus bibimbap in hot stone pot + miso soup and garlic chicken. Did we over order? Definitely yes. But we finished most of the things. Sushi in the chirashi set and the salmon lover was fresh and tasty, so I would order that again if we come back. Parking: street parking can be hectic but spaces opened up being it was a Sunday. The lot in the back didn't have a designated space for them, so it would either be municipal or street parking.

Right off the bat I could tell the rice is muuuuch better than other places. They could just give me a fat bowl of rice and I'd be happy. The sushi and roll pieces are a bit larger than usual as well. Not in a like "oh my god this is huge" type of way but more like when you're eating it you're like "are sushi roll pieces always this big??" The quality of the fish is really good too - Not gonna lie I am kinda picky when it comes to fish but I went out on a limb and ordered a set. I ate every last piece! On top of that I am gluten free and they assured me that what I got was okay (did an online order with gf request and confirmed in store at pick up). The general usual rules for gluten free apply here: no soy sauce, likely avoid the spicy sauce, no miso soup, and no karaage. My boyfriend ate the soup and he said it was really light and good. He usually doesn't like miso soup too much but he slurped this one down! This place is for take out, only had 2 standing tables so plan ahead! The inside isn't too decorated - minimalist Japanese vibes. It's not a sit down place though so I don't think it needs to be anything extravagant. Basically, if you're thinking about trying out this place please do!! Support local businesses!
