I'm sorry. But this was just an odd experience. While the people were extremely nice, the vibe was nothing even close to a restaurant. More like half bodega / half gift shop. The Sushi was good, but I don't think LOL Sushi was making the rolls from scratch. My guess is they used a kit of some sort. I wish them all the luck in the world. I've been here twice and each time, the family is so nice and welcoming. The food is so good and they are not stingy on the fish ratio :) Each time the fish has tasted fresh and clean to me. Such an underrated sushi restaurant, perhaps because it's a takeout, not a sit-in, restaurant... It's a small family-run business. Their ingredients are always fresh, generous, and neatly positioned. Service is great; they add a complimentary miso soup to every meal. Highly recommend the Fantastic Bo Roll ($16) that's off-menu but can be requested. It's eel topped with sushi variations, fish roe, crab meat, thinly sliced scallions, and crunch that makes the sushi for me. The crunch adds a fun texture and taste that reminded me of a fire roll on the first bite. If you want a healthy option with little to do carbs, I highly recommend the Hwe Dup Bap (a sushi version of bibimbap but with more salad on the bottom of all the ingredients). You can opt out of adding rice, and it tastes perfectly fine. The red sauce (cho-jang) is like a vinegary gojujang, and it's definitely worth adding it into the mixture. Ordered a two roll lunch special for takeout. I chose the tuna roll and a salmon cucumber roll. There was way too much rice in the rolls for the amount of fish that was in it. The special also comes with a miso soup, but there was no seaweed or tofu in it. I have a feeling it was just miso paste and chicken bouillon. I also noticed the special rolls on their menu are mainly spicy rolls or tempura. There are no actual chunks of fish in it, so there's not much variety when it comes to that. Was looking for sushi party platter at the 11th hour for Thanksgiving Day and thankfully this place was one of the very very few places that were open for Thanksgiving! Apparently there were many people in the same predicament because their phone line was busy all throughout the day! The first time I did connect with them, they put me on hold since they had other customers on the line, but after holding for over 10 minutes, I just hung up and gave up on my quest to serve sushi for Thanksgiving. But they called me back 30 minutes later which I was really impressed with since you don't see that often in this day and age. It was very much appreciated since I was still without a sushi platter. I ordered the sushi-sashimi-roll platter B and it was a great great deal for just over $100. It was plenty of food for 5 adults and I was very happy with the presentation and variety of sushi. I thought the sushi quality was just ok though. I'm giving them benefit of the doubt here that because they had a ton of orders to fulfill that day, they had to rush in cutting the sushi cause some of the pieces of sushi I had were a bit chewy and not good quality. I was able to get the Hot Cheeto Roll (really interesting mix of shrimp tempura with cream cheese on the inside, and on the outside containing kani sticks, hot cheeto flakes, and spicy mayo, worked so well together), but also ordered two regular rolls (the boston roll: a fine and average boston roll, and the California roll: also fine roll). The staff from the front end to the chefs in the back are all kind and friendly, and flexible at accommodating your order. They have good fish, and if you're low carb they have rice-free and less rice roll options (I've tried the Sashimi Roll and the Spicy Naruto - both were yum). Additionally, they also have lunch specials for a great price! LOL Sushi is carry out only, they have their own small lot in the front (which they share with the other stores in the plaza so it might be hard to grab a spot), and they also use a variety of meal delivery apps (saw signs for DoorDash and Uber Eats when I was there). There are also catering platter options available as well (great to bring as your contribution to your next gathering). Everything was yummy but the rice was a little too sticky for me. My gf got the sushi combo and liked it but some of the nigiri was a little chewy. Personally I'd recommend the roll combos.
