I'm sorry. But this was just an odd experience. While the people were extremely nice, the vibe was nothing even close to a restaurant. More like half bodega / half gift shop. The Sushi was good, but I don't think LOL Sushi was making the rolls from scratch. My guess is they used a kit of some sort. I wish them all the luck in the world. The meal was complimentary via YELP, so that's the reason we stopped in.

Ordered the LOL special roll and it was tasty, and it came with complementary soup. I loved the mix and the fresh ingredients inside it. I would definitely come back again for other assortments : )

Such an underrated sushi restaurant, perhaps because it's a takeout, not a sit-in, restaurant... It's a small family-run business. Their ingredients are always fresh, generous, and neatly positioned. Service is great; they add a complimentary miso soup to every meal. Highly recommend the Fantastic Bo Roll ($16) that's off-menu but can be requested. It's eel topped with sushi variations, fish roe, crab meat, thinly sliced scallions, and crunch that makes the sushi for me. The crunch adds a fun texture and taste that reminded me of a fire roll on the first bite. If you want a healthy option with little to do carbs, I highly recommend the Hwe Dup Bap (a sushi version of bibimbap but with more salad on the bottom of all the ingredients). You can opt out of adding rice, and it tastes perfectly fine. The red sauce (cho-jang) is like a vinegary gojujang, and it's definitely worth adding it into the mixture. Enjoy! ------------------ Had to go back for their Fantastic Bo Roll. Consistently good. YUMMY! My new fav. roll. Kamikaze was okay. Great for spicy tuna/spicy salmon lovers!

Thanks to being a yelp elite, I got to try this great place. A small takeout only sushi spot with the freshest rolls. Everything is made to order on the spot. Call in your order and pick up the best rolls. I really enjoyed their spring roll. Everyone was super nice. Definitely will be back.

I really enjoyed the sushi- very fresh and take out came with a complimentary small miso soup. I am looking forward to going back!

Small Korean family owned business that knows what they are doing! Sushi was fresh and fairly filling considering I usually get multiple rolls. I am not in the area often but when I am; I def would grab some to go sushi while in Fort Lee.

ordered a couple of rolls for take out (only took one photo because the others toppled during transit) but they were all delicious! tasted fresh and were very filling. would definitely try again! restaurant is small with a couple of seats, would probably do take out again.

True take out place with fresh rolls and nice service. Had the dragon roll and the amazing roll. The Amazing roll was outstanding!! Def worth a try!

This place is tiny but filled with good sushi and humble staff. The staff are so nice and friendly and go out of their way. They give candy to the little ones. I had the Bergen roll and the kamikaze. Both were yummy and plentiful. Some parking out in front

Ordered a two roll lunch special for takeout. I chose the tuna roll and a salmon cucumber roll. There was way too much rice in the rolls for the amount of fish that was in it. The special also comes with a miso soup, but there was no seaweed or tofu in it. I have a feeling it was just miso paste and chicken bouillon. I also noticed the special rolls on their menu are mainly spicy rolls or tempura. There are no actual chunks of fish in it, so there's not much variety when it comes to that. I really wanted to like this place but I didn't love the sushi, and what I ordered were just basic rolls.

Great sushi spot that's new in town. They offer some unique menu selections with their fresh sushi rolls. The only thing I found odd is that most of their rolls are shrimp tempura. You would like to see more unique style rolls and not just different variations of shrimp tempura. Other than that, you can taste the freshness. AND, they have specials where you buy 2 get 1 free type of deal. FYI: Take-out only, with limited parking spots.

    Grace H.

When you buy so much sushi, they put it on a platter. It's so good! Fresh and flavorful. There was so many options I just couldn't pick one! The price was just right and the rolls we're amazing! The only problem is that I don't know the names to all the specialty rolls! The only one I wasn't a fan of was the octopus, besides that the rest were AMAZING!

I ordered the Unagi Don Gozen ($42)- it came with a whole tray of different delicious items, with the star of the show being a generous amount of unagi (eel) over rice. The eel was cooked very well and the rice was flavorful with a bit of sweetness. There was also a small bowl of udon noodles, some sashimi, a crispy tempura shrimp in a yummy creamy sauce, flavorful edamame, mashed potato with corn, and some pickled veggies - quite the diverse array, all of which was tasty. The restaurant itself has a rather simple yet elegant Japanese wooden design. The prices suggest it's a more high end place, but the vibe is actually rather casual. The staff are very attentive and the service speed is pretty quick. Overall, I would definitely give Moru 4.5 stars if I could. I think it's great for most types of occasions, and the only reasons it's not getting 5 stars is because I do think the prices are a tad higher than I would've hoped and I think they could've done a bit more in terms of designing the place to match the price point. That being said, I still highly recommend Moru, especially for a nice lunch.

My answer is always an immediate, "OMGOSH YES," and we know exactly where we're going -- Soba Noodle Azuma. We always get the cold soba combo, LARGE PLEASE. The soba is just SOOO good -- the right chew, the right temperature, the right texture, and the right amount. I used to get the small, now I get the large, but if I can't finish it, my husband will. We've gotten the combos with salmon sashimi, katsu, curry, chicken egg bowl, and the beef bowl. All were good, just depends on what you're craving that day for a little extra something on the side from your soba. And we ALWAYS get their cucumber appetizer. We love our cucumber apps, so we usually get it at every restaurant if it's on the menu, but azuma makes it THE BEST. We also had their okonomiyaki one time. It was really good and very filling, but I feel like it was over-sauced (but im also not a "saucey" type of person). They have other great things on their menu that we want to try, but we just can't get enough of their soba! They're BYOB, so that's a nice little perk if you want to have some light drinks during lunch or dinner. I want to go there with some sake one night and try all of their appetizers. If you are thinking, no need to think. Go! Trust me! You won't regret it! First of all, the sushi chefs are Japanese, so you know that the sushi is going to be legit. And it was busy there from customers and take-out, so you know that everything will be fresh, too. There were so many options to choose from the menu, so I had to ask for a recommendation. My friend and I were recommended to try the omakase option and, boy, that was a perfect choice! There were 3 types of omakase and we chose the first one. -Sushi omakase - $70 -Sashimi omakase - $80 -Sushi & sashimi omakase - $90 This was my first omakase experience where I walked out super full and impressed. -We were advised to eat each piece without soy sauce because each piece was curated with their own unique flavors. -After our first bite, we were advised that we could ask the sushi chef to adjust the rice and wasabi ratio in each sushi piece. We decided to keep it as is. -The wasabi here is really good, but spicy, so if you can't handle the spiciness, definitely ask for less. I was crying because of the wasabi but I didn't want it to be adjust because it was so good. -On the menu, it states that you have 2 hours, which allowed us to enjoy the omakase at a nice pace. -The udon soup you get in the end is made with hand-cut, chewy noodles and it was a perfect ending. -And this omakase also includes a dessert at the end, which was a perfect sweet ending. I hope you made the right decision to come here for your sushi craving/experience. Once you come here, I bet this will be your regular sushi spot. Tips: -Yamagata in a small shopping plaza with parking, but it fills up fast. There is metered parking on the street if needed. -This place is cozy and intimate, so if you are planning to come at a busy time, I would suggest calling to make a reservation. -For the omakase experience, if you can, sit at the sushi counter so that you could get the full experience by getting each sushi piece from the sushi chef.
