Heard a lot of great things about this place, so this place has been on my list for quite awhile and finally made it. If you want amazing, fresh, and supreme sushi, this is the place! If you are thinking, no need to think. Go! Trust me! You won't regret it! First of all, the sushi chefs are Japanese, so you know that the sushi is going to be legit. And it was busy there from customers and take-out, so you know that everything will be fresh, too. There were so many options to choose from the menu, so I had to ask for a recommendation. My friend and I were recommended to try the omakase option and, boy, that was a perfect choice! There were 3 types of omakase and we chose the first one. -Sushi omakase - $70 -Sashimi omakase - $80 -Sushi & sashimi omakase - $90 This was my first omakase experience where I walked out super full and impressed. -We were advised to eat each piece without soy sauce because each piece was curated with their own unique flavors. -After our first bite, we were advised that we could ask the sushi chef to adjust the rice and wasabi ratio in each sushi piece. We decided to keep it as is. -The wasabi here is really good, but spicy, so if you can't handle the spiciness, definitely ask for less. I was crying because of the wasabi but I didn't want it to be adjust because it was so good. -On the menu, it states that you have 2 hours, which allowed us to enjoy the omakase at a nice pace. -The udon soup you get in the end is made with hand-cut, chewy noodles and it was a perfect ending. -And this omakase also includes a dessert at the end, which was a perfect sweet ending. I hope you made the right decision to come here for your sushi craving/experience. Once you come here, I bet this will be your regular sushi spot. Tips: -Yamagata in a small shopping plaza with parking, but it fills up fast. There is metered parking on the street if needed. -This place is cozy and intimate, so if you are planning to come at a busy time, I would suggest calling to make a reservation. -For the omakase experience, if you can, sit at the sushi counter so that you could get the full experience by getting each sushi piece from the sushi chef.

Nice cozy sushi restaurant in the area with free parking on site. Brought a friend to try their sushi specifically their specialty roll since most reviews are based off their Benton boxes and sashimi omakase which looked fresh and clean. We tried the Titanic, love spice, tuna amazing, Naruto and spider roll and their octopus carpaccio. Their lunch came with a small salad and soup and at the end, you get either green tea, vanilla or red bean ice cream. My friends favorite was the Love Spice and Tuna Amazing while I enjoyed the Titanic and Tuna amazing. The spider roll felt a little disappointing due to the vastly small amount of crab. Octopus carpaccio was slightly too salty as it's doused in ponzu sauce but still a nice dish. Next time we will be back for the sashimi omakase. They have polite service and they get really busy for lunch hour.

I'm obsessed with the gindara here: flaky melt in your mouth miso cod with a bowl of warm white rice. Heaven on earth to sooth your belly. Comfort food. The staff is attentive and kind. They provided complimentary soup and rice with the gindara which is a nice gesture. They should make the gindara an entree! Free ice cream ended the meal on a sweet note. Definitely a must in Fort Lee!

We stumbled upon this hole in the wall when looking for dinner before our movie at the iPic. We are so happy we did! Upon entering, the small space is filled with happy patrons ordering an array of sushi platters. It seems to be BYOB, as many people had brought their own wine bottles upon sitting. As we sat, we were given hot green tea and our menus which were filled with pages of authentic dishes. We ordered the soft shell crab, per our waiter's request, a miso cod dinner box, deluxe sushi platter and negi toro handrolls. All were excellent and we look forward to coming back with reservations next time as we got lucky on our first try!

Amazing sushi! In Fort Lee. My go to whenever I crave good quality sushi, always fresh. Pricier than most but, the quality speaks for itself.

Great experience and highly recommended. Their Omakasan was better than expected, but that was not it. We also ordered yakitori and miso cod. Oh so goooood. The night ended with great ice cream and it's not just some ice cream that tasted like freezer burn. Get the red bean ice cream and you will not regret it. Highly recommend to rsvp at the bar. If you don't have a rsvp, you probably won't get a table for walking in, just FYI!

Food service and ambiance are all on point, along with price. It's basically a hole in the wall, small, cozy with a limited amount of seating. The rolls are fresh, and the ice cream tastes fantastic. I'm definitely coming back here again when I'm in the area.

We came here at lunch time on Saturday and waited 20 min for table. We ordered the lunch set. Everything was good except the Chirashi doesn't have uni. (The menu's picture show that it has uni). Food was delicious and our sushi lunch set comes with salad, soup and ice creme. Service was great too. We will definitely be back!

This place is a neighborhood gem that I've been waiting to check out. With Huira temporarily closed, I think this is the highest quality Japanese food in town. - Food 5/5: The clear asari soup is quite delicious as is the boxed mackerel sushi and reasonably priced toro. Superb quality fish in the Chirashi Bowl. - Service 4/5: I ordered take out and though the sushi had already been prepped, there was a small hiccup with the credit card payment. I thought it could be smoother. - Cleanliness 4/5: I was surprised to see how many people were inside. Though they were distanced, The close proximity between everyone was a bit concerning. - Ambiance 3.5/5: The restaurant is a simple, unassuming place that's great for a casual meal.

This one is older and the ambience is not quite as nice/private, but we had a great meal here. I love their sets! The sashimi is incredibly fresh. I'm usually not a huge fan of Korean oysters, but the ones we had here were the freshest I've ever had. Next time I come I will probably ask for the fresh fluke (?) sashimi to come out first before the assorted sashimi, because that was the absolute best and it was a shame we barely had room left to enjoy it. She really wanted to try live octopus and white fish sashimi she said very popular on TikTok. There were six of us and my daughter already picked the Bada Palace Table set before we went to the restaurant. I didn't realize how much food was included in the set, the leftovers we took home was enough for a full second dinner. Everything was absolutely fresh and delicious. In fact, it was so fresh that the leftover sashimi we took home were still really fresh the second night. I heat up the leftover tempura in air fryer and they were still quite crispy the second night. The staffs were very helpful and attentive throughout the night. We are not Koreans but they didn't treat us differently. I can say that I don't always get equal attention at other Korean restaurants when they realize we are not Koreans. They also use extra care to wrap up our leftovers. I believe this is the reason why they were still so good the second night. I really love the level of attention they put into every detail. Highly recommend this place.
