Spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, and spicy scallop hand roll

Ordered take out on a Sunday- ready quickly and fish was fresh. The spicy scallop hand roll never disappoints!

I love this spot! This is our go to Sushi place. Nestled in the corner of the Trader Joe's shopping Center, it's hard to find, but once you do, it's unforgettable. Everything is fresh and delicious! We will continue to go here as we really do enjoy it! I would definitely give it a try!

The outdoor seating space has a nice view of the Hudson River, and the service was good, but the food was just average. I got the Lunch Combo Set A (fried rice, teriyaki chicken, one basic roll, 4 pieces of the special roll, salad, miso soup). For the price, I thought the portions would be a bit bigger, but there were only a few chicken pieces and a small amount of fried rice. The teriyaki chicken itself was dry, the fried rice was bland/tasteless (but the rice was cooked well), and the rolls fell kind of short. The food quality was good, but how it was all put together felt like there was something more to be desired. The eel cucumber roll that came in my lunch combo was filled with a disappointing amount of eel. The special roll we got on the side (the Edgewater Roll) seemed pretty basic too -- it was just a Rainbow Roll that only had crabmeat in the filling. It seemed too basic to be considered a "special roll." Don't think I would return. If I'm in the area again, I'll try a couple of other sushi spots first before returning.

Sushi Cruise in Edgewater, NJ. What's something you can eat everyday? Mine is sushi! My favorite ever is scallop sushi/sashimi. @sushicruise offers some of the freshest sushi in the area. Service is great too. They have an amazing lunch special (Mon-Fri only). Great view BYOB Amazing sushi. Insta: @thehungrysw

Ordered: Fantasy Roll (~$17): spicy tuna, avocado & crunch w/ masago wasabi, black, red & yellow tobiko Samurai Roll (~$16): tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, cucumber, masago wrapped in soy bean paper Florida Roll (~$16): shrimp tempura inside, seaweed salad, crab stick meat & crunch on top Volcano Roll (~$16): spicy tuna, crab meat, crunch & masago w/ spicy mayo & eel sauce Aya's take: Amazing sushi spot! Sushi Cruise is located in a plaza so there is plenty of free parking. It's also located right near the water. When the weather is nice, this is the perfect spot to enjoy a sushi dinner in their outdoor seating section. Service was a bit slow which was frustrating but the sushi made up for it. All 4 rolls were presented in a nice and unique manner. I loved the flavors of each of them, but my favorites had to be the Fantasy Roll and Florida Roll. I highly recommend checking out this hidden gem! You'll love it.

Great views and really good sushi. Decently priced rolls with good portions. We will definitely be back!

    Volcano roll and spicy tuna

I heard about sushi cruise from one of my best friends and it certainly did not disappoint. The volcano roll is out of this world and the spicy tuna was fire. If you're looking for a good sushi spot in town, look no further!

The view is hard to beat for sushi restaurants nearby, so big props for that. Service is friendly and was good about letting us know in advance when the kitchen closing times for lunch were (closes around 2:30pm on Saturday for a break). The edamame was lightly salted, but we were able to ask for more sea salt. The seaweed salad was a light flavor. Even the Fuji roll with spicy Mayo and spicy tuna wasn't all that spicy. However, the wasabi definitely was definitely more than enough spice for anything. It's a decent spot for a date, business meeting, or catching up with a friend. Tables are positioned best for intimate couples or small groups.

Updating my review once again! Not to revise my rating, but to let people know that the price per plate during their lunch special is now $2.05 (it used to be $1.50 when I first started coming here years ago). Between general inflation and their need to raise prices like everyone else to ensure the same food quality post-COVID, it makes sense. Anyway, food is just as delicious as it was years ago! They have a great variety of menu items, fish is fresh, and sushi rolls are well made. For sushi, my go-to special rolls are: Tiger, Red Dragon, Mountain, Florida, and Fuji. Also check out their lunch special for Galbi! $16 for a nice serving of short rib accompanied by rice and a salad. Well worth it!

We came here on a Saturday night around 9 pm and it was pretty packed but we were lucky and beat the crowd that we saw forming a line on our way out. In terms of service everything was very efficient. We ordered pretty much shortly after we sat down and the food came out in less than 10 minutes and was about $60 with tip for three entrees. Overall, we thought it was a good place for us nee Newark airport to have diner. The views of the water from the restaurant is really nice and the food came out decently fast. The sushi was good but the noodles could have used more shrimp and toppings/garnishes. The only drawback is probably the price and potential wait, since there was a line of people waiting once we got out.

For the price, it's a really good sushi and best around the area. Their king cali and phoenix rolls are the best because fried one's are too heavy because of the oil they are using. I feel like they don't change their oil too often

Employees hangin' and taking selfies on the half empty veranda while would be customers wait for 30 min outside

Poor Choices by employees...we rolled up to Sushi Cruise at 7:30 on a warm Sunday evening. The place was about half full, and right as we approached the host's podium he turned his back to us, sauntering off at a leisurely pace. We stood there patiently for 5 minutes, and when he returned he had refilled his water bottle. He then told us there would be a 30 minute wait for a table (for 2) (in a restaurant where we could clearly see 10 empty tables). We gave him our name and phone number and went to wait outside. We were looking over the water, and could clearly see the outdoor veranda had half of their tables empty, and the employees were hanging out and taking selfies. We were left to ponder what we'd done to this guy to deserve this 3rd class treatment. We wound up going down the road to a restaurant that was interesting in our business.

Sashimi appetizer, chefs choice. White tuna, tuna and salmon.

The restaurant is quite intimate with 2-3 chef's evenly distributed and ambiance is quite lively though not too loud. The staff are quite attentive and they have a nice drink menu with diverse sake options (junmai to junmai daiginjo) and give ample ginger that was solid. The chefs were nice and engaging with diners. The omakase leaned heavily on your typical fish enhanced by gourmet ingredients - if you're a fan then this is the place for you! The fish tasted fresh with highlights being the otoro, uni, sake, ikura, and kanpachi. Four of the courses had truffle, a few with caviar and then toro with caviar and gold leaf that really just made me roll my eyes. Personally these ingredients don't add much, if anything for me for sushi but do make for aesthetics, otherwise I prefer simplicity. Overall it's a satisfying meal and decent value for the price!

There are no tables, so the chef cam focus on the sushi bar and on you. The omakase right now is $175 per person and you can't find a better value. Of course the fish is great, just look at the pictures! Also, they make the best green tea panna cotta, nowhere is better.

The fish was all delicious and all had some kind of unique topping, and some were also torched. Each piece was truly one bite and I preferred this to the bigger nigiri that eats more messily. Typically at sushi places I stick to salmon, tuna, and yellowtail, so I had some reservations about whether I would like everything, but really everything was tasty. Some of my favorites were the appetizer yuzu yellowtail with microgreens, and then amberjack (who knew!). The wagyu had a truffle topping and it was a great piece but I am not sure it was necessary and next time would probably just opt for the standard classic set. The waitress was very friendly and the chefs checked in throughout the meal and seemed to care that we were enjoying the nigiri. A few times we were asked if we wanted add on ons (drinks, and then sushi add ons later). I would have preferred if the menu was just maybe left without explicit solicitations to order more. But other than that not sure anything could have been better. The restaurant is simple, understated, and minimalist. Though right on a busy street the outside is so narrow and understated that it would be easy to walk by every day and miss this place. Would highly recommend for an extremely good and reasonably priced omakase experience.

So overall, was disappointed with these. As for the nigiri - most of them were pretty good. The fish was good quality and the one that really blew me away was the uni don - the uni and roe were EXTREMELY fresh, blew my mind. It was the best uni I had in a while. The wagyu handroll was also delicious and decadent. The last handroll - hamachi handroll - was a bit flavorless though.
