Sushi combo was great. They gave me 8 salmon avocado rolls, 3 different nigiri, and some sashimi. The wasabi in the nigiri blasted my sinuses to high heaven though, so I'd ask them for half the amount. But otherwise I enjoyed the food. It came out quickly, and the place is clean.

Came here for lunch with a friend and it was amazing. We got the lunch special which includes miso soup and 2 rolls. The sushi was tasty. I also loved the decorations, definitely a place you can come for a quick lunch or on date night. The service was also great and attentive.

This is the sushi entrée from Momoya -- 8 pieces of nigiri and a yellowtail scallion roll. $39 on paper, $60 delivered. I heard great things, and maybe that set the bar too high, because this? Awful. Grocery store vibes. Tiny, sad nigiri. Weird-tasting eel. Salmon was off. Only saving grace was the roll -- and even that was just fine. For $60? Y'all are bugging. This ain't beating Sugarfish, Para, Ginza, Happy Tuna, or even Hamachi on its worst day. Momoya gets a D-. Catch the full breakdown on TikTok: @TheRawReport

Delicious and fresh sushi! Their rolls are unique and I ventured outside my comfort zone and got a spicy scallop/shrimp/crab one that I really enjoyed. My dad enjoyed his sushi as well. You absolutely MUST get the black sesame ice cream, and make sure you get the red bean paste on the side. I would come back to momoya just for this dessert, it was fabulous!!!

Chirashi Lunch Special

Whenever we're craving fresh, high-quality sushi and rolls, this is our go-to lunch spot. It's one of our favorites, offering great lunch specials with generous portions, all served with miso soup or salad. On our last visit this past Saturday, my boyfriend got his usual Chirashi bowl, which had a great variety of fish and perfectly seasoned rice. I usually go for the Ladies' lunch special, which includes a small roll, whitefish ceviche, sashimi, and spicy shrimp tempura. This time, I was in the mood for just rolls, so I ordered their signature roll along with a roll combo (Salmon Avo, Yellowtail Scallion Cucumber Avo, Eel Cucumber). Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The restaurant has a clean, inviting atmosphere, and the service is always friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

Came here for a treat after asking a friend for a sushi rec on the UWS. Ended up getting the restaurant week dinner special. Got the yellowtail as an appetizer, and the volcano roll and sashimi + the chocolate cake. This sushi is soooo fresh! The restaurant is gorgeous - they didn't have a table available but they let me sit at a table if I could get in and out within 45 min. Challenge accepted! I really haven't had good sushi in a while so this was great. And honestly pretty affordable. Will definitely be thinking about this food for a while!

Great always but didn't care for the truffle dumpling Had the tuna Tortilla which is always great and the sushi and sashimi combo. A hit! Love the salmon crunch roll. (Next time salmon crunch rolls with whole salmon not chopped)

Nice spot for a sushi dinner, service was quick, lots of indoor seating as well as a cute covered outdoor patio. The menu was extensive without being too overwhelming. Really enjoyed the spicy tuna and crispy rice, the spider roll and tempura were solid as well. It's not the most exciting sushi I have ever had, but you won't be disappointed either!

Best crispy rice ever!!! And their popcorn chicken, I dream of! Possibly the best crispy rice in NYC! The staff is so friendly and attentive. Can't ever go wrong with coming here.

Really nice service and the sushi was very fresh! We sat at the bar. The cocktail was overpriced and underwhelming though, I would not order anything except sake there.

Had dinner here for the first time upon the recommendation of a relative. We had a wonderful experience - from every single dish we ordered, to the tremendous, attentive service, to the delightful ambiance - this place is a must try if you love Japanese cuisine. Highlights: absolutely amazing brussel sprouts, a uniquely savory warm mushroom salad, super unique corn truffle gyoza, and salmon crunch roll. Save room for the Black Sesame Ice cream with a side of red bean paste. Fantastic! Reservations highly recommended as it was jam packed (also another sign of how good they are). We'll be back!

Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna

Tried a sushi spot in NYC that my girlfriend said originally got her to like sushi growing up! We went at lunchtime and were able to try the lunch specials which were well priced and very filling. We started with the crispy rice spicy tuna and I have had many renditions of this dish, but this was my favorite. The rice wasn't overcooked but was still crispy on the outside and I loved the texture of the spicy tuna on top. Both platters were delicious and our favorites were the spicy tuna roll, and the tuna sashimi. The albacore nigiri was also delicious, props to the chefs here they killed it!

Got the teriyaki chicken and veggies.... No flavor surprisingly. Asparagus was tough with yellowing at the ends. $35 down the drain

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

They share a takeout menu and it's super easy to order--text what you want to the phone number on the website and pickup in ~20 minutes :). You pay on a handheld and they don't ask for tip for takeout. I love this process and truly wish more sushi restaurants in LA adopt the takeout box. The only one I know of is hefty but also $200 each lol, making Sanyuu's $69 omakase and $78 Everything don, not to mention the $30 giant salmon nigiri set, A STEAL! I enjoyed most of the pieces but I will say I don't like their amaebi or uni at all. I'm not sure what kind of uni is used here but it's the type with a very strong mineral flavor & aftertaste that I don't find enjoyable. We're spoiled by easy access to live spot prawns everywhere and fresh SB uni. Despite this, I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I lived in the city.

The slices aren't thin, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth as one usually gets in a sit down; they are extra thick, and I had to really bite down on some of the pieces. The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.

The creamy kimchi udon was ok. It didn't feel like one dish, but tasted good. The una don was great. Good sauce and blend of supporting veggies to enhance the taste. Service was super quick. Everything was rapid fire: order taken, food comes out quick, water gets replinished before asking, plates are taken the moment they are finished, and check comes immediately after asking for it. Interior was cramped and loud. Really fitting as many tables as they can in the space. I saw others mentioning to make reservations. I went without one and got lucky. There was a table opening 30 minutes out. Would recommend having one, but you can definitely try walking in. First come first serve basis Overall, solid spot for great tasting food. Great for smaller parties of 2, but expect it to be tight with spacing
