This is still the place I think of when I think 'dumplings'. Since my initial review, I have learned there was, in fact, more seating upstairs, as well as the 'patio' they added in the warmer weather. One star removed because as many times as I order "to-stay" or "dine in", they hand me my order in a paper bag instead of on a tray. A recent order, I asked for steamed and was given fried. Another time, I was charged for 15, when I only ordered 10. Maybe it's me, maybe it's them, either way, for now I am going to keep ordering

Service was very friendly and fast. I ordered the steamed chicken dumplings a la carte. There's plenty of different varieties like beef, pork, broccoli and shrimp, and vegetable as well as frozen handmade dumplings available for purchase. This is not somewhere to sit and eat, it's for pick up or taking home frozen dumplings from their selection. I will definitely come back for some to keep and freeze.

My family has always gotten our frozen dumplings from this spot. 25+ years later and as an adult, I still come here to buy my dumplings. Don't let the frozen aspect scare you. The dumplings are cooked and then frozen. Like the name suggests, these truly are the best dumplings i've ever had. So much so that whenever I go out to eat at korean restaurants, I don't order dumplings because they just don't ever compare to these. What makes these dumplings so great is the taste of the dumplings and the excellent ratio of wrapper to filling. I have tried other dumpling spots like this one, but have found they either try to stuff too much filling in, or have too much wrapper. Enjoy this place, cheers!

It really IS the best dumplings (and Korean wings). I came here on a whim, who doesn't like the best of anything? Oh my god. I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. It truly is the best. So flavorful not too onion forward (what I feel a lot of places do now!). There's no over powering flavors. They're just perfectly made. DO NOT SLEEP on their ginger sauce (I'm not a ginger person but I bought a whole jar because it's my favorite sauce ever now). You can get in steamed or fried. I like to do the chicken steamed, the beef or shrimp and broccoli fried, and the sweet and spicy wings. (But I've tried all and everything is great). I always order to go but I'm telling you eat the wings in the car so they don't get soggy! CRISPIEST WINGS EVER even when I dip it in extra sauce. It's truly out of this world. Hot tip you can also get frozen bags to go! (Not all flavors though).

Great dumplings. Not sure if it's the best, but 50 dumplings for $45 is the best deal for sure. Great service. Limited parking available.

Dumpling place in Englewood. We haven't had the pleasure of picking up lunch or pre-cooked food, but always have purchased the frozen dumplings or catered fried dumpling platter or certain types of Korean dishes. Shrimp - $16.50 Kimchi - $14.50 They do have other types - vegetable, pork, etc. Yes, the price is higher than store bought ones, but does not mean these dumplings are MUCH better though. They are just regular (personal opinion). They always ask for "cash" !!! Insist on it even if I tell them I don't have enough cash !!!! They don't accept American Express.

The best dumplings are made here! Authentic and fresh, handmade with love. Can do takeout or buy frozen dumplings for home. Many varieties including vegetarian options. Don't forget the sauce!

The name of the restaurant speaks for itself :) It's a tradition in my family to get a Best Dumplings platter every New Year's Eve, and they never disappoint. They even sell frozen dumplings which are just as good if you prepare them the right way. I wish they still made sushi platters, but nonetheless, this place is a hidden gem. Also, the customer service is great, too. Highly recommend!

They were super encouraging with me using chopsticks as a novice and spent time showing me tips/tricks and also bringing me another set that was supposed to be easier. They also cooked all of our food so that was also welcome! We ordered the combo A, and the udon noodles. They also gave us glass noodles on the house along with all the Banchan. I loved the pickled peppers especially but everything was fresh, and really added to the experience. We loved the udon noodles to say the least and we did our best to finish our meal. The only thing that could've been improved was once the staff was done cooking the food they didn't let us know really. They might have been trying not to interrupt us but after the first course, they never indicated to us that the food was ready for us. They walked away like they usually did while waiting. We also had some uncooked meat remaining at the end of our meal that we weren't sure why they left out table side the entire time. It felt like a waste especially since we had done very well with the food and finished most of our kbbq - we left the noodles for a weekday lunch primarily.

A group of 7 hungry adults ate early dinner on Sunday…read more Overall, Kalbi serves up great K-bbq with attentive tableside cooking service. That said, some of their dishes were not as fresh or well-prepared, their smoke vent was not working well, and they could maintain the premises better. I. ATMOSPHERE (3/5) - Inside is spacious and overall comfortable seating with nice dim vibe that isn't too dark. Aside from the main dining area is a bit off because you can kind of see some random food prep areas. They could use some better upkeep so that the entire space is a bit more inviting because for example, mens' bathroom had stuff broken and just overall dingy. II. FOOD (4/5) a. BANCHAN (3/5) - They brought out generous spread of banchans and they were mostly good - mashed potato salad was a crowd favorite, and cucumber moochim and egg souffle was great too. That said, other dishes felt more like an afterthought. b. MAIN (4/5) - We ordered combo C & E and there were plenty of food to go around. Our favorites were the Snowflake prime rib, and the Prime Short Rib - they were full of beefy flavors and great bite. I also enjoyed the brisket dipped into their sauce. They also bring decent amount of veggies to grill, which was enjoyable. I was disappointed that they did not provide a foil cup to grill garlic and pepper. But the biggest letdown was the marinated kalbi. Immediately upon eating it, I noticed that the meat's texture was as if it was breaking apart, and way too overseasoned. It was basically not fresh - it was clear to me that this meat sat in the marinade for too long because meat texture was breaking apart, and way too sweet as a result to the point where we had to eat the red leaf lettuce and rice just to lower the sweetness in our mouths. Were they just not paying attention? This was pretty unforgivable for a K-bbq, and normally I would immediately ask them to take it back, except all the other meat was good and I did not want to make a stink. Almost no one ate the marinated after the first bite. c. OTHER (3/5) - We had ordered cold noodle and acorn noodle to split, but curiously they brought these after like the first meat was grilled(?) Usually you finish off with cold noodle at the end after the bbq. We thought it was odd. Also, the cold noodle was quite mediocre. They had given us free service of bibim mak gook soo which was tasty as an appetizer, so this was disappointing. My acorn bibim gooksoo was... well, OK. A bit on the sweet side. III. SERVICE (4/5) - Meat grillers were great and quick. But something was wrong with their smoke suction vent because the place was filled with smoke. Next table had their stuff burning on the grill and air wasn't circulating. Never experienced such vent malfunction before so it detracted from our experience a little bit. Overall, I left not too impressed. My first visit in 2025 was definitely better, and since then it just looked like things were not properly maintained. Also, at least few people in our party had either an allergic rash early on, or stomach trouble after eating. There's a lot to like about the Kalbi, but I was not impressed. I might give them another chance in the future if they can improve what I pointed out.

One thing I absolutely loved: they give you an entire pot of kimchi with your order. Not just a few pieces on a small dish, but a whole pot. I wish it was a bit more fermented for my personal taste, but I really appreciate not having to keep asking for refills like at other places. The fried dumplings are a must order! The filling was super juicy and packed with flavor, honestly one of the highlights of the meal. We also ordered the classic yukgaejang kalguksu and the ox bone soup, and both were incredibly flavorful. The kalguksu noodles had that perfect chewy texture and paired so well with the rich, spicy yukgaejang broth. Everything felt comforting, like a warm homemade meal straight out of a grandma's kitchen.

I love the Korean grandma that is there, her energy is great, she is so friendly and kind. Nom Nom Nom. It helps if you are Korean or if you go with someone who can speak and/or read it. The clientele is predominantly Korean and the restaurant itself is so freaking tiny. I am giving it 5 stars on a dish that wasn't even their most popular, their go to dish is a chicken stew. So if I was so blown away by their second best dish, I am very curious to find out how their best dish is. The menu is written all in Korean but there are pictures. Their banchan is pretty basic since they only give you two items. The Kimchi has really good flavor but it has a pretty aggressive kick like how it is in Korea. The radish kimchi is very aggressive, I enjoyed the flavor but it was kung pow in my mouth. The food: Gamjatang- It is a very popular Korean dish and is basically a pork spine soup. The pork was insanely good, it basically melted in my mouth. The kimchi in the stew was excellent, the potato was not over cooked and the broth was exploding with flavor. It was spicy but it was a good kinda of burn. The order comes on a table side burner and is served in a huge pot. It was $30 for the dish but it was easily enough for four maybe five people.
