This Dumpling place was my frequent place to pickup dumplings on the go, several years ago. It was a nice surprise it's still in business. On my recent visit, noticed interior and owners changed. New owners were very friendly and nice. Also the interior was simple and clean which I loved. I was even more surprised that the dumpling was better than I remembered. I tried Shrimp dumpling and it was so good. They added special white sauce on the side along with usual soy sauce. It was a nice touch. I got dumplings here, but i realized that they use unsold dumplings the next day. some of my dumplings are obvious, some are dried up and soggied then reheated. the pictures says it all. if anyone else sees a dumpling with a texture you see on the top end of the picture, avoid this place. the dumplings in the bottom shows that there is still moisture in them, while the ones on the top shows that it's been dehydrated then reheated by microwave. there is no other explanation for a dumpling to be blown up like that. read more

We've been here twice now and expect to making more visits in the future. In terms of presentation, it's a fairly standard takeout place with no a single table but otherwise no real dine-in options. When you come in, there are fresh dumplings, pork buns, and other fresh items that they've prepared for the day. You come in, grab the pre-packaged items you want, and then they ask you if you'd like to have them steamed. This will add about another 5 minutes to your wait, but is worth it if you plan on eating it right when you get home. This latest time I went with my parents who are very picky eaters and they were highly satisfied with the food. The shrimp dumplings (which come with a special wasabi dipping sauce) and the mini pork buns were their favorites. The quality of the service is really great too. Such a cute place! The inside is very clean, and the host at the counter was super nice! We picked out the beef and chives dumplings and the kimchi pork dumplings, and the host helped us select a dipping sauce too (we picked the spicy one!). They offered to steam the dumplings for us, which was super nice so we got to eat them pretty soon afterwards. The dumplings themselves were so soft and full of very delicious stuffing ! Picked up a big pack of frozen kimchi mandu to steam and eat at home. I've heard so many good things about this place and the reviews were all raving about the kimchi mandu... Idk why but the kimchi mandu we received just fell below expectations. Hopefully it was just the mandu we got that was funky, but the kimchi flavor was VERY over-fermented. It tasted a bit sour. They also have refrigerated drinks in case you need something to wash down your dumplings. I'm not a huge fan of dumplings, but I picked up a package of Red Bean buns? 4 for $6, not too bad. My favorite Korean style dumplings ! Very reluctant to share this place with everyone since it means less dumplings for me. I have tried different flavors and I preferred the kimchi with pork and shrimp dumplings. However, everything is tasty and has a clean, home-made taste. The tough thing is they close at 8pm, so sometimes I don't make it in time. They also sell frozen dumplings in their own fancy store bag, which are just as tasty, boiled, steamed or even pan fried. Very clean operation. You can see all the old korean ladies vigorously making hundreds of thousands of dumplings in the big open room. The dumplings are pretty good. My wife and I were in the mood for Korean dumping (mandoo), so she searched on Yelp and found this place. Although, it only had 12 reviews, all were 5 stars and one with 4 stars, so we decided to give this place a try. Nice job Yelpers, this place is awesome. Driving up to Mama's Best, my wife and I were a little concerned, since from the outside didn't look inviting and once inside, same concerned lingered. Not much to the inside of the place. No decor whatsoever. There were number of various different varieties of steamed dumpling(mandoo) were on the counter, which all looked good. The owner (didn't ask his name) could tell we were hesitant, so he gave us pork mandoo to sample. OMG! So good. Absolutely no porky/gamy taste. While speaking with the owner, learned number of restaurants in NYC buys dumplings from Mama's Best. He even mentioned couple of Michelin star restaurants buy from him, too. Of course he wouldn't tell us the names of any of the restaurants that buys Mama's Best dumplings, but wife and I have some candidates (will keep those to ourselves). Unfortunately, completely out of King Mandoo (extra large) and won't be making more until sometime late Feb. got to go back when they start making King Mandoo again. Anyway, we ended up buying few pre-steamed (kimchi, vegetables, and red bean steam buns) mandoo, so we could eat right away. The owner was nice to re-steam for us, so they were hot and ready to eat. Also bought few different frozen (kimchi/pork, vegetables, and shrimp). As soon as we got home, wolf-down the hot, steamed mandoos. All the mandoos are large and very filling. They were so filling couldn't eat all, so had to save them for the next day. The kimchi mandoos were very spicy, more than others I've had at other places, but so good. The vegetable mandoos were also very good, but just a little blend (probably because I ate the very flavorful kimchi mandoo first). Next evening, decided to pan fry the mandoo and was blown away how good they were. I don't think the 3 packages of frozen mandoo will last very long. We usually order the steamed hyoja round mandoos and also the beef and chives frozen mandoos for later. OMG these dumplings are killer! Found this place on yelp (thanks again yelp) on my way home. I wanted to pick up a quick bite as it was near closing time. First, this is not a restaurant. He makes dumplings, period. I grabbed the spicy pork dumplings which they offered to steam for me so that I could eat them immediately. They were out of this world. His ingredients are totally fresh and you can taste the difference. They were also loaded with ingredients so you get a nice, meaty dumpling. Definately recommend this place. Went all over NJ in search of the best dumplings/Mandoo. I should have just came here first instead of last. My husband isn't a huge fan of kimchi and he preferred the ones with kimchi. It's a Korean dumping store, so you'll find flavors like Kimchi, Kimchi + Pork, etc. You can either buy individual sized portions, which you can buy as is (pre-steamed but will be room-temperature) or ask them to steam it for you (will take a few minutes and is a free service). They also sell large bags of frozen dumplings that you can bring home to steam or fry! There are also different types of dumpings - those with the traditional thin wrappers as well as dumpings (small & large) made with dough, so it has a bread-like consistency (with filling on the inside). Delicious veggie dim sum!!! The kimchi and shrimp are also amazing. The owner is soooo friendly. I am so happy I yelped a dim sum spot and found out they were a mile away from my doctor's office!
