Loved everything we tried. This is a fantastic spot for a filling lunch! The bibimbap was top notch and came with so many fresh vegetables. The pickled cucumbers were my favorite - loved the mix of all of the crunchy veggies and the soft pillowy rice. The beef bulgogi was also stand out and came in the sweetest sauce. Pan fried dumplings were another winner - they come with a mix of beef, pork and veg. I just wish there was a way to identify which were which. Service was speedy and friendly. Prices are a bit lower at lunch and you also get soups and sides with the lunch special. It's a lottttaaa food. Cannot go wrong for delicious and hearty Korean eats!

Definitely one of the best Korean comfort food experiences I've had recently. Highly recommend for anyone craving hearty and authentic Korean cuisine!

We usually come in at around 5pm just before the parking lot gets too crowded and just before wait time gets agonizing. The banchan is delicious, generous and does help work up your appetite. We enjoy their seafood pancake here and love that theres a regular portion and a larger one. The combo meal is worth it. The LA Galbi and original tofu soup is our go-to especially during colder months. The rice is cooked perfectly and pairs so well with some hot spicy soup. We always leave full and satisfied!

It's a blessing to live within a few miles of Fort Lee. Why? Because the Korean dining scene there is unbeatable compared to other areas... If you live in Jersey, there's no need to venture over the Hudson River to visit NYC's Ktown. Sorry, I don't make the rules ;) We decided to have lunch at BCD Tofu House, a Korean franchise that has been around since 1996. They're well known for their soondubu, a spicy soft tofu stew served in a hot stone pot. This location is in a plaza. They have a parking lot that's shared with other businesses. There's also metered street parking nearby. We walked in during prime lunch hours on a Sunday and were able to get seated as a table of 2 right away. The restaurant is casual, clean, and modern with wooden furnishings and booth seating along the walls. There's plenty of tables for small and large groups. The menu consists of traditional Korean dishes like japchae (glass noodles), haemul pajeon (seafood & green onion pancake), galbi (ribs), bulgogi (sliced rib eye), bibimbap (mixed rice & veggies), soondubu (spicy soft tofu stew), yangnyeom gejang (spicy raw crab), etc. They also have soju, beer, and wine. Lunch specials are from 10:30am-3pm and are a few dollars less than regular/dinner prices. To get a bang for your buck, I recommend ordering an entree combo. You get a LOT of food for a lower price. We started our lunch with complimentary banchan. Some of the side dishes included kimchi, broccoli, black beans, potato salad, and a fried whole fish. Most of them have free refills! All were tasty and fresh, but my favorites were the beans (kongjang) and fish. We ordered two lunch entree combos: C2 Bulgogi (sliced rib eye) $27 C3 Spicy Pork Bulgogi $25 Each combo includes white rice + your choice of soondubu. You can customize the proteins, toppings, and spice level of your soup. We went with a kimchi beef (mild spice) and a dumpling (beef, pork, vegetable) with no spice (plain). All of the food came out in hot stone pots, ensuring everything was piping hot and fresh! The portions were more than enough for one person. The soondubu really hit the spot. Not only is it a delicious stew, but it's also nutritious. They give you a raw egg to crack into your bubbling broth, which adds a creamy texture to it. The tofu was soft and silky. The pieces of beef were large and tender. The broth was salty, rich, and comforting. It was a vibrant red color and had the right level of spice that I requested (mild). The kimchi added tangy and bold flavors to the broth. The meats were juicy and tender. The bulgogi was sweet and savory. It was marinated in soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. The spicy pork had a nice kick of spice from the chili paste marinade. The white rice was perfectly cooked and served out of a hot stone bowl. You have the option of pouring barley tea into the bowl and mixing it with the leftover layer of rice on the bottom - this creates a rice porridge (nurungji tang). I didn't care much for this... it was just mushy rice with hints of a nutty/roasted tea flavor. Service was quick, efficient, and attentive. Even though they were constantly busy, the staff turned tables over quickly. We didn't feel rushed. Our server didn't miss a beat from start to finish. He didn't hover over us and was there at the right times when we needed him. Our banchan, water, soups, and entrees all came out within a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend a visit to BCD to satisfy your soondubu or Korean cravings! Great value + flavorful food + generous portions = happy belly.

This is my go-to restaurant when I'm craving some traditional Korean food. They do not take reservations, but they will give you a buzzer and the 45-minute wait during peak lunch hours on a weekend will not feel so long because you can have a coffee at the Korean cafe 2 businesses down, like my group of 4 did! The food is so delicious and the waitress was so kind. She helped us understand foods and ways of eating the food that we were not familiar with. This restaurant is bright and crowded at all hours, but full of Korean food lovers for a great experience all-around.

TLDR: The most iconic name in soft tofu, at least in the tristate area. Kimchi pork is my go to, extra fish IYKYK. The spicy marinated crab is also good and if you're going in the fall - Autumn Special is a must! Since the Bayside location closed down - we're all patiently waiting for it to reopen but for now, the Fort Lee location is the best one IMO. It's also more comfortable and the service is great. Your rice actually comes in the hot stone too. Kimchi pork is the better choice as opposed to the more popular mixed, at least I think so. It's tangy, a good amount of pork, flavorful and you can adjust the spice of course. The Autumn Special is my favorite. A hot stone bowl served with 7 different kinds of mushrooms and stir-fried pork. It also comes with a small stew too. While it's nothing hot and new - it is a classic and for good reason.

Where else would one go for hot stone pot soft tofu stew? Because they sell BCD-branded ready-made stew packs in Asian supermarkets, this restaurant has become a bit of a household name. But I believe there's still no comparison to getting it fresh from the restaurant. A few things make the dine-in experience super positive: - The variety and plethora of banchan, or free side dishes. I've noticed some Korean restaurants now tend to withhold these until your entrees come, and some even add a surcharge to refills. Not here. They put down plates of pickled veggies, potato salad, and even a whole crispy fried fish (one per entree ordered) before you even place your order. When our large party asked for refills, it was given with nary a stink eye. You've got to love that. - The hot stone pots are actually hot. This sounds a little a little ridiculous to say, on par with saying a black cat is 'actually black', but I can't tell you what a pet peeve it is to be served stew in a cast pot or pan that quickly chills. Here, my stew actively bubbles for a minute or so after it's set down before me because the pot has been properly heated. Since they serve raw eggs to crack into a stew, the hot temperature also delivers some peace of mind that the egg will properly cook. - Sharp service. Because a soon tofu meal comes with hot stone pot rice, they'll serve you your rice and typically ask you if you want to make nurungji with the stuck on layer of rice. This is where they pour barley tea into the pot and leave it to make a porridge to enjoy at the end of the meal. Because of this, I've noticed how our servers tend to keep a close eye on the pace of our meal so that they can swoop in and serve the porridge when it looks like we're at last bites. Someone was always on hand for banchan or water refills, extra plates, napkins - you name it. When I visited most recently, there was some construction in the upper parking lot that restricted the number of spots so I paid for street parking. But when I asked others in our party where they'd parked, they mentioned an attached underground lot that I'd completely not known about. So I'm here passing the good word onto you all, friends.

A very consistently good soft tofu place in Fort Lee. I always get the mushroom soft tofu - "mild" level. The side dishes are very decent, and the hot pot rice is sooo good - where they pour you some water to enjoy the leftover rice later. Their combo menu is various too where you can order either some fish or marinated meat. We usually get the stir-fried pork or beef, or mackerel to go with the small portion soft tofu. And above all, their service is good !!!!

Korean restaurant @ Fort Lee, NJ We had lunch Friday around 1:30pm and the restaurant was very busy. The restaurant is located where the Blue angel bakery is and there were ample parking spaces. We ordered lunch combo menu. The spicy pork bulgogi and seafood soft tofu soup were tasty, LA galbi was tender and nangmyun noodles were chewy and bibim sauce weren't too spicy. The grilled mackerel was cooked well. The servers were very busy but was easy to flag them.

Came here on a cold winter day looking for something soupy and spicy. They have tricky parking but more down the ramp. Probably best to come to this area on a weekday. Place was busy and packed for weekday lunch. We were seated quickly. They gave us recommendations and answered questions. Professional and friendly. Overall the food was good! Like Korean home cooking. Quick and uneventful. We will visit them again or another BCD house. Recommended!

Korean American who has eaten in Seoul and this place is the closest I've come to excellent Korean food in the USA. Busy but cool combos and selections. I'm not a fan of spicy tofu but the galbi dishes, meats and banchan were excellent. A bit pricey but a cool experience for anyone wanting excellent Korean food experience.

I've been going to BCD for years. There used to be one in Bayside that I used to go to all the time. Then, when I moved to Manhattan, I would go to the one in ktown all the time. Now, I finally got to try the fort lee location! It was amazing. I always get the LA galbi combo which comes with galbi and onions on a hot plate, as well as a tofu soup of my choice. This time, I chose the mushroom soup. The galbi at the fort lee location was a lot marinated than the ktown location and I loved it! The staff were also very friendly and would offer to refill the banchan (side dishes) and water/tea. It's pretty spacious, as there are lots of seating available, but at times, it gets crowded because it is such a popular spot. They unfortunately do not take reservations but you can put you name down and they will give you a buzzer. There is a parking lot, which makes it so much easier to find parking in the area a enjoy a meal here!

Ordered the BBQ short ribs with tofu soup combo which came with white rice and various side dishes. The food was piping hot and the short ribs were tender and juicy. Loved the raw egg to drop in the hot tofu soup. Service was great and food arrived quickly. Side dishes were also refilled frequently. Food was delicious, would return again if in the area.

Are there any vegan and gluten free options? If so, what are they? Thank you!

I can't say they have any main course items specifically for vegan eaters. It's mostly based around a meat, fish & tofu.

Do you are here steam egg?

No steamed egg here which is surprising for a K BBQ Rest but then again they're known for their tofu soups. I actually ordered 2 fried eggs and it works just as well over rice.

If we order takeout, do the dishes come with bachan? If so, do they all come with it or are just a few provided? I love all of them and don't want to miss out if we order takeout. Thanks!

All of the banchan comes with the order except the salted squid.

Finally got to try this place I heard so much about on a Christmas day with wife because it was…read morefrigid and we wanted a warm bowl of Korean "tang"(soup). Finding parking is quite challenging given the location on a busy commercial street, so make sure you can come earlier than meal time to have better luck. They have waiting seats OUTSIDE so yeah I suppose it's quite popular at times. 1. ATMOSPHERE (3/5) - This location is small and it's pretty straightforward place. But I still found it cozy, with decent amount of seating (I think it can handle 15-20 max) and little details like wall with wood ledges and coat hangers were a nice touch. Seating was comfortable, though we tied our down parkas around our waist as another party had hung theirs on our side of coat hangers. 2. FOOD (4/5) - We dove right in to try their famous gejang (~Korean raw crab "ceviche") and ordered two of their namesake gookbap (rice with soup) to see how they are. Here's how it went down. - Gejang (App, $20, 2/5) - I had a hunch that on a holiday perhaps I should not order this, but my craving for succulent crab flesh be damned, I went for it and unfortunately, the meat was not well-marinated as I had feared. Gejang is a dish that has to sit in the complex soy-based pickling liquid for some time... and if restaurant is too busy churning them out or if it's slow season they won't do this properly. It not only wasn't fully marinated, I think the marinade was off because the spiciness was way out of balance and was overpowering. Perhaps knowing that it didn't have enough time to marinade the kitchen put extra diced jalapenos to compensate? Because that's exactly what it tasted like - you can't fool me. I tried to salvage the dish by asking a confused-looking girl server for some sugar, but yeah, can't un-do the overpowered marinade with sprinkling of sugar. This was really unfortunate as I was looking forward to a good bite. - Ahjae Gookbap (Main, $18, 5/5) - Thankfully, their namesake gookbap was spot-on to salvage our dining. Generous slabs of succulent beef on the bone and off the bone was swimming in a hearty beef/bone broth that tasted clean and focused. Portion was good, and can I say their banchan of fish cake moochim & unfermented kimchi & ggakdugi(radish kimchi) simply ROCKS? That was some serious deliciousness and dare I say value at $18 at a day and age where hamburger costs over $10! You win at life by ordering this! 3. SERVICE (4/5) - Our server girl was attentive and food came out early on though later it was a bit hard to get her attention promptly. We found ourselves putting hands in the air, and wavin' like we don't care... for a little while. They provide gloves & metal bin for gejang which was a nice touch for people to keep their fingers clean. One thing I'd like to mention: Plastic cup they served water in was all chipped on the rim so we instead went and got water from their hot & cold water dispenser which had metal cups (as many korean restaurants do). I'd suggest them to replace all these old plastic cups with metal ones for health reasons. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal. I'd chock up the gejang mishap to it being a holiday. I hope chef was just off with the marinade that day because I am a certified gejang pro(I catch and make my own) and that balance ain't it. But I will give it another try during warmer month and we'll definitely be back to try sooyook moochim, oyster jeon & other great soup offerings.

Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.

Ooooh, it's been awhile since my last review…read more After 4 years, I still love Wooga but those "$$$$" on the their Yelp page keeps me from eating here more often. This time around, it's a stronger 5 out of 5 because of our waiter was amazing. Ugh, I can't remember his name. He was on top of everything and making sure our food was grilled in a timely manner. He was quick to follow up with orders/requests that didn't come through when the kitchen didn't bring them out. Usually my gripe or disclaimer I give to people is that Wooga is great at everything except wrapping up things on the end. In the past, whenever I went, it would take forever (!!!!!) to get our check and pay. It was so frustrating but this time around, it was a bit faster. It's a win-win situation because we get to pay and leave and the restaurant has another table for customers. Though on the pricier side, Wooga does check off all the boxes of: -amazing meat quality -amazing & attentive service -they don't skimp on banchans (side dishes that I heard other restaurants are starting to limit) -several meat combo options -best Korean steamed egg in the North Jersey area We tried the thinly sliced oxtails, which were really good but pretty pricey for $38cash/$39.90card for 11oz of it. There are some things that are inconvenient (long waits, very small parking lot) but it's easy to overlook them once you have a meal at Wooga. Things to know before you go: -Their menu is updated on their website if you want to check that out before you go. -The earlier you go, the better your chance of being seated quickly. Weekends are definitely a longer wait, so plan ahead. -Their parking lot is small so it fills up super quickly, so you'll have to park across the street and play Frogger (maybe you might be too young to know this reference?) to cross the 4 lanes of Palisade Ave. -When you arrive, make sure to check in with the host/hostess so that you could get a pager to know when your table is ready. Your turn can come pretty fast sometimes depending on the timing.

The banchans and stews were wonderful too. I know they have a Midtown location, but I still have not been to that branch yet. I hope its quality and service matches this location. I'll check it out soon.

His hot tip: this restaurant is BYOB, so hop into the liquor store (inside the Hmart complex) next door to grab some soju and beer before settling in for some grilled meats. There are some plated dishes on the menu but with grill covers in the middle of every table, it's clear this is a restaurant meant for Korean BBQ. The pork belly was incredible with decent grill-kissed char marks. The marinated beef was tasty but a little tougher than I prefer. I love all the free side dishes that came with our meat orders, especially the soybean stew and towering egg soufflé. Service is brisk and efficient..sort of. This is the sort of place where servers hover with their order pads soon after you settle down, expecting you to just know what you want. Since this is a full-service BBQ, our server came around frequently to grill, cut, or flip or meats. After all was eaten and done, it become mysteriously difficult to flag her down for our cheque. A side note about ordering: there's a two-portion minimum for meats. My husband and I don't eat much so we thought we'd split a single order of pork belly, but our server insisted we needed to order at least two servings.

We have always enjoyed dining at Daeji Ssonday in Ridgefield, but the rude and unprofessional behavior of our waitress completely ruined our family dinner. We were seated at the table directly in front of the far back-right table (when looking from the counter). From the moment we sat down, the service was hostile: Aggressive Attitude: As soon as we sat, she demanded our order loudly. When we asked questions about the menu, she answered with visible irritation. While we were briefly discussing options with our children, she slammed her notepad onto our table with a loud "bang" and walked away, startling both us and our kids. Negligent Service: She continued to be rude throughout the meal, literally tossing side dishes onto the table. Furthermore, the exhaust hood at our table wasn't working properly, causing the smoke from the pork belly to fill the air and make it hard to breathe. She didn't check on us until much later. Ruined Meal Flow: While we were still eating our pork belly, she came over and--without asking--scraped all the meat onto a side plate to clear the grill for the spicy squid. We had to eat cold, greasy pork belly instead of enjoying it warm off the grill. She never even asked if we wanted fried rice afterward and ignored our table for the rest of the night. We always try to treat service staff with respect and gratitude, but this experience was unacceptable. Despite our polite demeanor, we were treated with zero professional courtesy. If the manager or owner is reading this, please look into the staff working that shift. This waitress needs serious retraining in basic customer service. It's a shame because we loved this restaurant, but after tonight, we have no desire to return.
