    Banchan, pancake
    Sylvia T.

Came here late at night and the interior is very nice. The service was also great employees were very friendly and even gave us a pancake on the house. I ordered a gukbab and it had great flavor! the beef in it was super tender too. Really enjoyed the flavor. Better than BCD but worse than Dubuhaus imo. The banchan was also mid, didnt have a large variety and the individual dishes weren't my favorite. We also got a LA Galbi which was their special and I also wasn't a fan of it. The flavor was decent could've had more but also the meat itself wasnt very tender - wouldn't recommend this dish. Overall decent meal but knocking a star for the pricing. Honestly the prices here are more expensive than those in Manhattan ktown for not better taste nor portion sizing.

The galbi jim is both sparse in quantity and overdone; it is very chewy, but extraordinarily expensive for what you get for $80 (and this was from the lunch menu). The pork ribs are extremely disappointing. Smothered in sauce, and SO dry and well done, they were not even worth eating after ordering. I took one bite of dry, hard pork and didn't continue. The service is also inattentive; I was given the wrong cold noodles I ordered. On the plus, a large group is able to be seated together

Delicious korean food in a classy setting. We shared a variety of dishes including the mul naengmyun, kalbijim, oyster soup with sujebi, and gamjatang. The naengmyun was really good, among the better ones I've had. I don't have kalbijim often, but I'm a fan of the one they serve here--perfect slide-off-bone texture and flavor. The oyster soup tasted very healing, with plenty of oysters and seaweed. I was a little apprehensive because I don't love the taste of raw korean oysters, but they were super fresh and I did prefer them cooked in soup. My oyster soup came with a side of rice and you can choose between regular rice and purple rice with beans. I did get the purple rice and it was a little dry, but it's probably meant to be that way to be able to go well with soup, and have some nurungji (burnt rice) on the bottom. Service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely come again.

Excellent service, great for groups, and delicious korean food! Came here at the end of the day for some good Korean food and a hearty meal, and we were not disappointed! The restaurant is owned by the same folks as Olle, and feels like a nice restaurant with the food feeling like soups my grandma would make for me, something warm and cozy Highly recommend anything, can't go wrong! Banchan is also very delicious and they serve a complementary seafood pancake

This place is an absolute RIP-OFF for what you get. The prices are RIDICULOUSLY HIGH for the portion sizes, especially considering the quality. For a bill WELL OVER $100 FOR THREE PEOPLE, the amount of food was completely underwhelming and NOWHERE NEAR WORTH THE COST. What really pushed this over the edge was the RICE SITUATION. We ordered extra cold noodles (for an additional charge), and the MALE SERVER INITIALLY TOLD US WE WOULD GET TWO RICE BOWLS instead. Based on that explanation, we agreed, assuming two bowls could be shared among the three of us. Only ONE RICE was served. When we asked, the male server said another was coming--but then a FEMALE SERVER CONTRADICTED HIM, saying the dish only comes with ONE RICE. So which is it? Because of this confusion, we canceled one cold noodle, yet we were STILL CHARGED FOR THE SECOND RICE anyway. For this PRICE POINT, that level of inconsistency and NICKEL-AND-DIMING is unacceptable. Parking was also EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT, adding even more frustration to the experience. The ONLY POSITIVE I can say is that the service itself wasn't rude--but being polite does not make up for POOR VALUE, CONFUSING EXPLANATIONS, and OVERPRICED, MEDIOCRE FOOD. This was our SECOND VISIT, and the food wasn't good either time. We gave it another chance and were disappointed again. NEVER COMING BACK. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Fast and friendly service. Comes with included potato pancake that is nice and chewy with lots of scallion flavor, and they were nice enough to give us a second one because we enjoyed it so much! Surprisingly the braised pomfret (fish) was my favorite dish. Tender fish and wonderfully flavored sauce. Pork belly stir fry also went well with the rice. Other dishes seemed like they were lacking a bit, either in flavor or texture

Anything galbi related at this place truly deserves a chef's kiss... It's as authentic as you get. All the older korean people (esp the ones that have lived in NJ for a long time) know that this place truly does the best job in terms of flavor and deep brewing of the soups. The galbijjim and the galbi meat in the soups are super tender + the banchan (side dishes) are a 10/10. Their gookbaps are also really good if you like a little spicy kick! The purple rice in the pots... speak for itself. I could literally just eat the rice bc it's that good. Vibes: The nee location's (truly right across the street from the original location) interior is modern and cute

    Banchan (few selections)
    Philip Y.

The signature dish Galbi Jjim was indeed delicious with tender juice meat. However, the the price of $79.95 a large portion, it was way over-priced. We ordered Fried Rice that utilized the sauce cook it, and it was just okay since there was no meat left to stir fry with. We also ordered Hwangtae Sujaebi (at $18.85), which was more reasonably priced. There supposed be a seafood pancake that comes with Galbi Jjim. The two tables next to us both had it, but not our table. They have very few Banchan selection, and you have to ask for refill. It was good to try it once, but not worth coming back for more.

    Spicy Pork Bone Potato Soup
    Grace Nicole C.

Best Korean food I've had in Jersey! We first got the Spicy Pork Bone Potato soup with Perilla seeds which was just life changing, the broth was so flavorful and comforting, and the pork meat on the bone was fantastic. We also received complimentary kimchi, cucumber salad, a scallion pancake, and so on. As our main course we ordered the Spicy Braised Belt Fish with Radish and Potatoes, it was outstanding with well cooked white fish (though obviously it had bones, it was easy to pick them out) and a great stew. We got seated right away and treated very kindly by the staff as we shared it was our first time here. The place is bigger than it looks and has very spacious seating. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we cannot wait to come back!

The food was 5/5, service also 5/5, and the ambience was casual. I came in a party of 5 with a baby in our party on a Sunday, and they accommodated us and seated us quickly. Honestly, the food made me feel like I was transported back to Korea. We got galbijjim, mul naengmyeon and bibim naeongmyeon along with the fried rice that comes with the galbijjim. They were all good, especially the galbijjim and I'm personally a mul naengmyeon person and it was so refreshing! I love the thin noodles. When in the area, I'll definitely be back.

Solid place for short galbi jjim (braised beef short ribs) - Came here for dinner on a weekend (walk in) and there were no seats indoors so we took an outdoor seat outside. Service was friendly and the lady took care of us through the meal - making sure we had everything and checking in now and then. Food was solid - Their galbi jjim (large) is in my opinion one of the best in the area. A bit on the pricey end given the portion but given how good it is, I was ok with it. I also got their naengmyun and it too was one of the better ones I had lately. Vibe was cute for outdoor seating. It's kind of like a patio setup that's semi enclosed but was fighting off a few hungry birds who were eye balling our food. Guess that's a good sign that the food smells good to them too All in all a good place with good food - Can get busy at times so may need to wait depending on day/time.

I found this restaurant while heading to another place but decided to stop in. It seems to be new, as everything looks fresh and well-kept. We arrived around 5 p.m. on a Saturday evening and were seated right away, but by around 6 p.m. the place was packed. We ordered two dishes, both of which tasted authentic and delicious. Each table also received a complimentary pancake, which was a nice touch. There were many Korean customers dining here, so I'd say it's 100% authentic. The service and food and vibe 10/10

They've got some of the best beef short ribs, and the new location has a overall nicer environment. P.S. the new location is 89 main st., very close to the old one

Finally got to try this place I heard so much about on a Christmas day with wife because it was…read morefrigid and we wanted a warm bowl of Korean "tang"(soup). Finding parking is quite challenging given the location on a busy commercial street, so make sure you can come earlier than meal time to have better luck. They have waiting seats OUTSIDE so yeah I suppose it's quite popular at times. 1. ATMOSPHERE (3/5) - This location is small and it's pretty straightforward place. But I still found it cozy, with decent amount of seating (I think it can handle 15-20 max) and little details like wall with wood ledges and coat hangers were a nice touch. Seating was comfortable, though we tied our down parkas around our waist as another party had hung theirs on our side of coat hangers. 2. FOOD (4/5) - We dove right in to try their famous gejang (~Korean raw crab "ceviche") and ordered two of their namesake gookbap (rice with soup) to see how they are. Here's how it went down. - Gejang (App, $20, 2/5) - I had a hunch that on a holiday perhaps I should not order this, but my craving for succulent crab flesh be damned, I went for it and unfortunately, the meat was not well-marinated as I had feared. Gejang is a dish that has to sit in the complex soy-based pickling liquid for some time... and if restaurant is too busy churning them out or if it's slow season they won't do this properly. It not only wasn't fully marinated, I think the marinade was off because the spiciness was way out of balance and was overpowering. Perhaps knowing that it didn't have enough time to marinade the kitchen put extra diced jalapenos to compensate? Because that's exactly what it tasted like - you can't fool me. I tried to salvage the dish by asking a confused-looking girl server for some sugar, but yeah, can't un-do the overpowered marinade with sprinkling of sugar. This was really unfortunate as I was looking forward to a good bite. - Ahjae Gookbap (Main, $18, 5/5) - Thankfully, their namesake gookbap was spot-on to salvage our dining. Generous slabs of succulent beef on the bone and off the bone was swimming in a hearty beef/bone broth that tasted clean and focused. Portion was good, and can I say their banchan of fish cake moochim & unfermented kimchi & ggakdugi(radish kimchi) simply ROCKS? That was some serious deliciousness and dare I say value at $18 at a day and age where hamburger costs over $10! You win at life by ordering this! 3. SERVICE (4/5) - Our server girl was attentive and food came out early on though later it was a bit hard to get her attention promptly. We found ourselves putting hands in the air, and wavin' like we don't care... for a little while. They provide gloves & metal bin for gejang which was a nice touch for people to keep their fingers clean. One thing I'd like to mention: Plastic cup they served water in was all chipped on the rim so we instead went and got water from their hot & cold water dispenser which had metal cups (as many korean restaurants do). I'd suggest them to replace all these old plastic cups with metal ones for health reasons. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal. I'd chock up the gejang mishap to it being a holiday. I hope chef was just off with the marinade that day because I am a certified gejang pro(I catch and make my own) and that balance ain't it. But I will give it another try during warmer month and we'll definitely be back to try sooyook moochim, oyster jeon & other great soup offerings.

Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.

This time around, it's a stronger 5 out of 5 because of our waiter was amazing. Ugh, I can't remember his name. He was on top of everything and making sure our food was grilled in a timely manner. He was quick to follow up with orders/requests that didn't come through when the kitchen didn't bring them out. Usually my gripe or disclaimer I give to people is that Wooga is great at everything except wrapping up things on the end. In the past, whenever I went, it would take forever (!!!!!) to get our check and pay. It was so frustrating but this time around, it was a bit faster. It's a win-win situation because we get to pay and leave and the restaurant has another table for customers. Though on the pricier side, Wooga does check off all the boxes of: -amazing meat quality -amazing & attentive service -they don't skimp on banchans (side dishes that I heard other restaurants are starting to limit) -several meat combo options -best Korean steamed egg in the North Jersey area We tried the thinly sliced oxtails, which were really good but pretty pricey for $38cash/$39.90card for 11oz of it. There are some things that are inconvenient (long waits, very small parking lot) but it's easy to overlook them once you have a meal at Wooga. Things to know before you go: -Their menu is updated on their website if you want to check that out before you go. -The earlier you go, the better your chance of being seated quickly. Weekends are definitely a longer wait, so plan ahead. -Their parking lot is small so it fills up super quickly, so you'll have to park across the street and play Frogger (maybe you might be too young to know this reference?) to cross the 4 lanes of Palisade Ave. -When you arrive, make sure to check in with the host/hostess so that you could get a pager to know when your table is ready. Your turn can come pretty fast sometimes depending on the timing.

The pork belly was incredible with decent grill-kissed char marks. The marinated beef was tasty but a little tougher than I prefer. I love all the free side dishes that came with our meat orders, especially the soybean stew and towering egg soufflé. Service is brisk and efficient..sort of. This is the sort of place where servers hover with their order pads soon after you settle down, expecting you to just know what you want. We have always enjoyed dining at Daeji Ssonday in Ridgefield, but the rude and unprofessional behavior of our waitress completely ruined our family dinner. We were seated at the table directly in front of the far back-right table (when looking from the counter). From the moment we sat down, the service was hostile: Aggressive Attitude: As soon as we sat, she demanded our order loudly. When we asked questions about the menu, she answered with visible irritation. While we were briefly discussing options with our children, she slammed her notepad onto our table with a loud "bang" and walked away, startling both us and our kids. Negligent Service: She continued to be rude throughout the meal, literally tossing side dishes onto the table. Furthermore, the exhaust hood at our table wasn't working properly, causing the smoke from the pork belly to fill the air and make it hard to breathe. She didn't check on us until much later. Ruined Meal Flow: While we were still eating our pork belly, she came over and--without asking--scraped all the meat onto a side plate to clear the grill for the spicy squid. We had to eat cold, greasy pork belly instead of enjoying it warm off the grill. She never even asked if we wanted fried rice afterward and ignored our table for the rest of the night. We always try to treat service staff with respect and gratitude, but this experience was unacceptable. Despite our polite demeanor, we were treated with zero professional courtesy. If the manager or owner is reading this, please look into the staff working that shift. This waitress needs serious retraining in basic customer service.
