We waited nearly an hour for a table to become available since this place doesn't take reservations. In hindsight, we should've just gone to Palisades Park and had better Korean from nicer people. The Banchan starters were fine. My Shiregi Sujebi, on the other hand, was a letdown of bland broth and not handmade noodz. Booooo! I love sujebi, and it's so hard to find it even in Korean enclaves--so the fact that it was subpar here made me cry tears of gluten sadness. We also shared the Galbi Jjim for Two, which included Hooshik Naengmyeon (spicy mini cold noodles) and Bokkeumbab (fried rice). Here's where the real trouble started. They didn't bring this out until I was halfway through my Sujebi. After flagging multiple staff hurrying frantically to and fro across the fully packed restaurant, we finally got an answer: They forgot our order. So it was that we ended up digging into the largest portion of our meal nearly an hour after being seated. By that time, the meat was a bit cold and had that stale texture that usually comes when something that was meant to be served fresh has been, you know, sitting on a counter collecting dust. The worst part was, we never really got an apology, and when our bill came, there was no offer to compensate us in any way. We thought about being Karens, but decided the best thing to do would be to pay and never come back. Oh, and for me to write this review. That too.
Amazing Korean restaurant. Came here multiple times and the food and choices didn't disappoint. Everything is consistent and tasteful. Ambiance is relaxing and enjoyable to have dinner. The crowd is well behaved and not loud. Enjoyed it everytime that I came here for dinner. Definitely worth it : )
Galbi jjim is very well seasoned. It pairs really well with the cold noodles, especially during the summer. Banchan is very high quality; you get a mini jeon, some tteokbokki, japchae, and other typical dishes. The price is high as usual for korean food. I think if you have a party of 3, you can add fried rice to be fried with the meat sauce at the end and that would probably be enough. There is no parking at this restaurant, you would need to street park or park at the municipal parking lot.
Tried PyeongAnDong in Fort Lee for the first time and honestly everything we ordered was great. The scallion pancake was a good touch to pair with the main entrees. The spicy braised pork ribs was a table favorite. The meat was super tender and coated in a rich spicy sauce that had a little sweetness to it. One thing I really liked was the stone pot rice. Probably my favorite. After they served it, they mixed the rice in the pot and let it sit on the heat for 5 minutes. The rice at the bottom didn't get that crispy but oh boy the flavor from the meat that was mixed into it soaked into the rice and was absolutely delicious. It almost turned into another dish and honestly is my husbands favorite part of the meal. The noodle soup was also really refreshing with a light broth, lots of scallions, and seaweed. They also bring a lot of banchan and everything tasted fresh. The japchae and bean sprouts were especially good. I liked the beef patty that we ordered too! One tip: if you're coming on the weekend, try to come before noon to get a table. It gets busy pretty quickly and you might end up waiting. I also didn't think you could reserve a table, didn't see a resy option either. Overall this was an amazing meal and I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the place too.

While the complimentary pajeon was a highlight, the banchans lacked the punchy, fermented depth you'd expect. Galbijjim (4/5): Flavorful, but inconsistent, some pieces were perfectly tender while others felt a bit dry Mul Naengmyeon (4/5): Crisp, clean, and the perfect companion to the short ribs Galbitang (1/5): Avoid this. The broth was flat and remarkably bland, failing to deliver the rich, soul warming essence of a traditional short rib soup
We've been going to the original location for a while. They changed locations with a new building. The interior is well designed. The restaurant was packed quickly on a weekend morning. The food was still excellent despite the change. Service could've been better though it may have been due to how busy it was in a new location.
PyeongAnDong is my all time favorite Korean cold noodle place. Today was decided to try something different and get eel too. It did not disappoint. All the food here is delicious and in my option worth the price. Recently there has been free parking at the bottom of the restaurant so that's been a plus! Please go if you're looking for great Korean food.
Came here late at night and the interior is very nice. The service was also great employees were very friendly and even gave us a pancake on the house. I ordered a gukbab and it had great flavor! the beef in it was super tender too. Really enjoyed the flavor. Better than BCD but worse than Dubuhaus imo. The banchan was also mid, didnt have a large variety and the individual dishes weren't my favorite. We also got a LA Galbi which was their special and I also wasn't a fan of it. The flavor was decent could've had more but also the meat itself wasnt very tender - wouldn't recommend this dish. Overall decent meal but knocking a star for the pricing. Honestly the prices here are more expensive than those in Manhattan ktown for not better taste nor portion sizing.
The galbi jim is both sparse in quantity and overdone; it is very chewy, but extraordinarily expensive for what you get for $80 (and this was from the lunch menu). The pork ribs are extremely disappointing. Smothered in sauce, and SO dry and well done, they were not even worth eating after ordering. I took one bite of dry, hard pork and didn't continue. The service is also inattentive; I was given the wrong cold noodles I ordered. On the plus, a large group is able to be seated together

The restaurant is owned by the same folks as Olle, and feels like a nice restaurant with the food feeling like soups my grandma would make for me, something warm and cozy Highly recommend anything, can't go wrong! Banchan is also very delicious and they serve a complementary seafood pancake
Fast and friendly service. Comes with included potato pancake that is nice and chewy with lots of scallion flavor, and they were nice enough to give us a second one because we enjoyed it so much! Surprisingly the braised pomfret (fish) was my favorite dish. Tender fish and wonderfully flavored sauce. Pork belly stir fry also went well with the rice. Other dishes seemed like they were lacking a bit, either in flavor or texture
Anything galbi related at this place truly deserves a chef's kiss... It's as authentic as you get. All the older korean people (esp the ones that have lived in NJ for a long time) know that this place truly does the best job in terms of flavor and deep brewing of the soups. The galbijjim and the galbi meat in the soups are super tender + the banchan (side dishes) are a 10/10. Their gookbaps are also really good if you like a little spicy kick! The purple rice in the pots... speak for itself. I could literally just eat the rice bc it's that good. Vibes: The nee location's (truly right across the street from the original location) interior is modern and cute
This place is an absolute RIP-OFF for what you get. The prices are RIDICULOUSLY HIGH for the portion sizes, especially considering the quality. For a bill WELL OVER $100 FOR THREE PEOPLE, the amount of food was completely underwhelming and NOWHERE NEAR WORTH THE COST. What really pushed this over the edge was the RICE SITUATION. We ordered extra cold noodles (for an additional charge), and the MALE SERVER INITIALLY TOLD US WE WOULD GET TWO RICE BOWLS instead. Based on that explanation, we agreed, assuming two bowls could be shared among the three of us. Only ONE RICE was served. When we asked, the male server said another was coming--but then a FEMALE SERVER CONTRADICTED HIM, saying the dish only comes with ONE RICE. So which is it? Because of this confusion, we canceled one cold noodle, yet we were STILL CHARGED FOR THE SECOND RICE anyway. For this PRICE POINT, that level of inconsistency and NICKEL-AND-DIMING is unacceptable. Parking was also EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT, adding even more frustration to the experience. The ONLY POSITIVE I can say is that the service itself wasn't rude--but being polite does not make up for POOR VALUE, CONFUSING EXPLANATIONS, and OVERPRICED, MEDIOCRE FOOD. This was our SECOND VISIT, and the food wasn't good either time. We gave it another chance and were disappointed again. NEVER COMING BACK. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Another amazing Fort Lee Korean spot! The galbijjim is popular but imo the soups are really what makes this place shine. The oyster soup is a must have! It's simple but the flavor is bomb and they are so generous with the oysters, I swear there were at least 20 in there. Also enjoyed the soybean beef soup quite a bit. Thought the galbijjim was decent but kind of standard. read more
I can tell that the galbijim was marinated really well -- the meat was very tender (fell off the bone), and the sauce tasted really good (even as someone who is sensitive to gluten and shouldn't be eating it). However, slow-braised beef is an acquired taste (I've always known I didn't like it), so while I didn't really enjoy it, I still highly recommend it, and would def come back to try other menu items. Came with a lot of free banchan, including a seafood pancake. Really cute ambience with the fairy lights. read more

Delicious korean food in a classy setting. We shared a variety of dishes including the mul naengmyun, kalbijim, oyster soup with sujebi, and gamjatang. The naengmyun was really good, among the better ones I've had. I don't have kalbijim often, but I'm a fan of the one they serve here--perfect slide-off-bone texture and flavor. The oyster soup tasted very healing, with plenty of oysters and seaweed. I was a little apprehensive because I don't love the taste of raw korean oysters, but they were super fresh and I did prefer them cooked in soup. My oyster soup came with a side of rice and you can choose between regular rice and purple rice with beans. I did get the purple rice and it was a little dry, but it's probably meant to be that way to be able to go well with soup, and have some nurungji (burnt rice) on the bottom. Service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely come again. read more

The signature dish Galbi Jjim was indeed delicious with tender juice meat. However, the the price of $79.95 a large portion, it was way over-priced. We ordered Fried Rice that utilized the sauce cook it, and it was just okay since there was no meat left to stir fry with. We also ordered Hwangtae Sujaebi (at $18.85), which was more reasonably priced. There supposed be a seafood pancake that comes with Galbi Jjim. The two tables next to us both had it, but not our table. They have very few Banchan selection, and you have to ask for refill. It was good to try it once, but not worth coming back for more. read more

Best Korean food I've had in Jersey! We first got the Spicy Pork Bone Potato soup with Perilla seeds which was just life changing, the broth was so flavorful and comforting, and the pork meat on the bone was fantastic. We also received complimentary kimchi, cucumber salad, a scallion pancake, and so on. As our main course we ordered the Spicy Braised Belt Fish with Radish and Potatoes, it was outstanding with well cooked white fish (though obviously it had bones, it was easy to pick them out) and a great stew. We got seated right away and treated very kindly by the staff as we shared it was our first time here. The place is bigger than it looks and has very spacious seating. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we cannot wait to come back! read more

Solid place for short galbi jjim (braised beef short ribs) - Came here for dinner on a weekend (walk in) and there were no seats indoors so we took an outdoor seat outside. Service was friendly and the lady took care of us through the meal - making sure we had everything and checking in now and then. Food was solid - Their galbi jjim (large) is in my opinion one of the best in the area. A bit on the pricey end given the portion but given how good it is, I was ok with it. I also got their naengmyun and it too was one of the better ones I had lately. Vibe was cute for outdoor seating. It's kind of like a patio setup that's semi enclosed but was fighting off a few hungry birds who were eye balling our food. Guess that's a good sign that the food smells good to them too All in all a good place with good food - Can get busy at times so may need to wait depending on day/time. read more

The food was 5/5, service also 5/5, and the ambience was casual. I came in a party of 5 with a baby in our party on a Sunday, and they accommodated us and seated us quickly. Honestly, the food made me feel like I was transported back to Korea. We got galbijjim, mul naengmyeon and bibim naeongmyeon along with the fried rice that comes with the galbijjim. They were all good, especially the galbijjim and I'm personally a mul naengmyeon person and it was so refreshing! I love the thin noodles. When in the area, I'll definitely be back. read more

I found this restaurant while heading to another place but decided to stop in. It seems to be new, as everything looks fresh and well-kept. We arrived around 5 p.m. on a Saturday evening and were seated right away, but by around 6 p.m. the place was packed. We ordered two dishes, both of which tasted authentic and delicious. Each table also received a complimentary pancake, which was a nice touch. There were many Korean customers dining here, so I'd say it's 100% authentic. The service and food and vibe 10/10 read more

Dont know why this place has not gotten much raving reviews yet? Most of the poor reviews do seem like it is about portion sizes and not having enough meat, which may be true. But they don't disappoint in terms of food, quality, everything, including the side dishes are so delicious, but I recommend coming here at weird times and avoiding lunch or dinner crowds, because when they are busy, they do tend to disregard service. Food: 9/10 Atmosphere. 7/10 Service 6/10 better service when not busy Tips: avoid lunch/dinner crowds! read more

If you live in or visit NYC, do yourself the favor of crossing the George Washington Bridge to visit Fort Lee for a meal. As one of the largest Korean communities in the country, there are endless options for great food. And if you do make this trip, I highly recommend PyeongAnDong. PyeongAnDong is a lovely eatery a stone's throw from the George Washington Bridge. When I visited this week I went with a group of 6. We sat at a big table near the center of the restaurant. Compared to New York, the long dining area feels spacious, yet cozy due to smart interior design. We ordered a mix of shared and individual dishes, all delicious. Standouts are the 설렁탕 (Seolleongtang), a beef bone soup that literally warmed my soul, and the 갈비찜 (Galbi-jjim), delicious braised short ribs. You can't go wrong though, try something, come again then try something else! PyeongAnDong is well worth the trip from the city (or surrounding NJ). Give it a visit and enjoy! read more

Almost never try new restaurants in fort lee but soooo glad i did. This place was fantastic - very delicious and hot siraegi soup with generous and chewy sujebi pieces - it was soooo nutty and with a deep perilla seed flavor. Fav dish ive had in nj in a while. The banchan are stellar and very clean. And the very kind lady gave us jeon as service. I can't wait to come back! read more

Overall: Amazing food, amazing service- would 100% come back again. We came on a Friday evening around 630pm and were seated right away with no wait. In fact, there were still plenty of seating available, which I was surprised about. Ordered the small beef rib plate with the fried rice as an add on, as well as the gamjatang, which was our initial reason for coming. Everything came out quickly, and we were wow'd by all 3 dishes. We left saying this was some of the best Korean food we've had in the area. Bonus: Very kid- and family-friendly. All of the servers and staff were so kind to my baby girl, who was learning to walk and was exploring the whole restaurant. They gave her some apples to munch on and played with her the entire time we were dining in. Sometimes as parents with young kids you get worried about being a nuisance, and they didn't make us feel like that at all and welcomed the distraction with my baby. read more
Made a stop here on our way back to New York with some friends, great idea!! We were a group of 12 and got seated pretty quickly. The food was well prepared and delicious, and the service was excellent. We felt like we were being served by a family member! 10/10 recommend. read more
