Not a lot of place serves duck and this one does, and it tastes really good. The beef tongue is also tasty. I don't really like their jeon though. Cold noodle is delicious as well.

Our family lives near Dong Bang Grill and we have been many times through our lives, but this is my first time reviewing it. They have valet parking, so parking is usually not an issue. The ambiance of the restaurant is quite spacious and nice, pretty typical of a korean restaurant. There is a flight of stairs you have to go up to the main restaurant. The food and service are both great in order for it to be a restaurant that has survived many years in Fort Lee, where there are so many asian restaurants. We got the glabi and pork belly and bulgolgi and all of them were delicious, truly a high quality korean bbq restaurant. There were plenty of side dishes to begin with as well, which is great. Overall we enjoyed out time at Dong Bang Grill and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable korean bbq place in Fort Lee!

We had been recommended Dong Bang grill and I am glad we got the opportunity to try it. We went on a Tuesday night and when we arrived we were the only table there. The staff were really friendly and attentive. We ordered a couple of different meats and the server was good at cooking them one at a time and making us not feel rushed. They gave us a lot of different sides and refilled them often. Everything was really tasty with great marinades. We would definitely come here again to try their large dumpling soups.

Came here on Thanksgiving. It's valet parking only but then the valet parker left so that was odd. Staff were very nice and attentive and did all the cooking for us. The food was good but Fort Lee definitely has better Korean bbq places. My favorite part was all the banchan they give before the bbq!

Came here to eat for a Mother's Day lunch Honestly the best KBBQ place I've been to in while. The quality and portions of the meat were so good My favorite was when you can taste the bbq fire on the meat ughhhhh. My tip for a Korean restaurant is to taste the side dishes if the side dishes are good and fresh it means the food ur about to eat is gonna be delicious. Service was amazing they cook ur bbq perfectly and give extra side dishes when asked. Although it's a kbbq restaurant the sushi rolls were out of this world not only fresh and tasty. They didn't skimp out on fillings for my spicy tuna rolls. Overall great place and you get greeted at the entrance by koi fishy's XD IM BRINING MY GF HERE

This is our local "go to" for Korean BBQ. As a person who's traveled to Korea many times and is married to a Korean woman (born and raised), Dong Bang is absolutely authentic. Great service, great meats, traditional atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite KBBQ places in the area! The servers are quick and very attentive, and it was nice to have someone cook if for you rather than butchering the beautiful cuts of meat myself. The ambience is also nice, and I greatly appreciated the big vents that go right above the grill. The portions were on the smaller side, but they were all so delicious that it was worth it. As per most KBBQ restaurants, the assortment of banchan was lovely, and we were able to get refills on many of the dishes! The haemool pajun (seafood pancake) is pretty standard, and we didn't notice that there is an appetizer size and an entree size. We also got the squid bibimbap, which was a good side for the meat. The prime boneless galbi was perfectly marinated, and the char from the grill was great. We were worried that the short rib nuggets would be too chewy, but they were perfectly tender! We've come here many times, and we have yet to be disappointed :)

Had relatives from korea come visit our family and we came here to feast. The sushi was divine. Extremely fresh, had a bunch of different options and rolls. We also ordered udon noodles with a squid stir fry and it was delicious! Good spicy, sweet sauce with noodles that weren't overcooked! Last dish was a seafood stir fry. I didn't particularly love this dish because there was lobster and other seafood in this dish but i couldn't taste it because the sauce was a bit overpowering. I understand that the dish is designed to be this way, but it still felt like a waste. All in all, place was great. Service was great as well!

Korean restaurant at Fort Lee, NJ we had dinner Saturday around 6pm, walked in without reservation. Our waitress was very polite and kind. She barbecued our marinated galbi and made some, beer with soju for us. The galbi was marinated just right and quality of meat was good. Our sushi pieces were very fresh but would have liked better if there were more variety. The bachan was fresh and tasted great. They also have a valet parking. The place was not too crowded and the interior was updated.

Dong Bang is a sensory experience from the beginning to the end. Yes it's not Manhattan but the way it's built is still beautiful and you don't have to pay too close attention to the tacky wall decor. I have had a vegetarian rice bowl and considering I don't feel sick hours from the time I've had it, I can confirm they don't mix any animal ingredients into the vegetarian dishes. That's a thumbs up from me! Servers are highly attentive too. The building stands out in all of Fort Lee amidst the restaurant scenery, scenically and experientially. Definitely try it out when you're wanting Korean to dine in without going to the city.

Last minute decided to get Kbbq in NJ and saw 800+ reviews and thought give it try. Honestly The worst Kbbq place I've been to in NJ and price is not cheap. Food 1/10 Banchan 1/10 Service 2/10 People who came here have zero taste sorry will never come back! Everything is so tasteless !

Came here on a rainy night based on a friend's recommendations. We opted to do valet parking since it was raining and the parking spots looked harder than the road test. Service: Good, always accommodated us when we requested service. Food: Excellent BBQ and side dishes, with all the food we had, we kept running out of table space. Side dishes: we were brought side dishes after we ordered. The side dishes were very tasty, different from the typical ones I've had in Ktown nyc. My favorite was the egg dish. Seafood pancake: I think typical seafood pancake, moderate size but not crispier than some of the places Ive gone to. Our bbq: Portions are smaller but very filling. Also tasty too. Will return again in future

I really want to like this place for a variety of reasons. From an ambiance POV it just feels like one of those old school Korean BBQ restaurants from an era before all those AYCE joints started to conquer diners over with their perceived value proposition. Also since this was the first BBQ joint I ever tried in this area and it was during a special occasion, there is a nostalgia/sentimental element as well. Well ... the issue for me is despite all of these good intentions, the bottom line is it seems their price to quality ratio is still dicey. I've had a variety of food here across various formats. Pre-pandemic I've had BBQ here in the sit down setting in their normal dining room for a big dinner. Current pandemic I've dined outside in their converted parking space and tried their lunch specials etc. Bottom line - this place is not cheap. The portions are questionable for the price. You get an ok amount of BBQ meat for the price but the shrimps were considerably less. The actual flavor of the BBQ was okay. The marinade was fine but not mind blowing for the cost IMO. They do a nice job with the banchan/side dish spreads which reminds me of the old days when going to a Korean BBQ dinner was kind of an event. Lots of choices and the flavor is ok for the most part. In terms of lunch, the prices are more reasonable. I've tried different combo variations. The kalbi + stew combo is not a bad choice and the price is far less intimidating than a dinner experience. The flavor of the tofu stew was decent and the pre cooked kalbi wasn't bad. The service here is spotty. When they do pay attention to you, the folks are nice and responsive. However in my various visits, I've noticed a lack of consistency here. Sometimes there are very long stretches when you can get someone's attention. This issue was particularly acute when we were dining outside during the pandemic. Another issue was how smelly it got here when we dined and cooked inside. I don't expect table cooked Korean BBQ to be non-smoky but it was strange how overwhelming the smell was here. Not sure if it has to do with the ventilation system? Because of these inconsistencies it's hard to give this spot more than 3.5 starts on my end. I still do like the overall vibe of this place so hopefully things will improve over time.

Finally got to try this place I heard so much about on a Christmas day with wife because it was…read morefrigid and we wanted a warm bowl of Korean "tang"(soup). Finding parking is quite challenging given the location on a busy commercial street, so make sure you can come earlier than meal time to have better luck. They have waiting seats OUTSIDE so yeah I suppose it's quite popular at times. 1. ATMOSPHERE (3/5) - This location is small and it's pretty straightforward place. But I still found it cozy, with decent amount of seating (I think it can handle 15-20 max) and little details like wall with wood ledges and coat hangers were a nice touch. Seating was comfortable, though we tied our down parkas around our waist as another party had hung theirs on our side of coat hangers. 2. FOOD (4/5) - We dove right in to try their famous gejang (~Korean raw crab "ceviche") and ordered two of their namesake gookbap (rice with soup) to see how they are. Here's how it went down. - Gejang (App, $20, 2/5) - I had a hunch that on a holiday perhaps I should not order this, but my craving for succulent crab flesh be damned, I went for it and unfortunately, the meat was not well-marinated as I had feared. Gejang is a dish that has to sit in the complex soy-based pickling liquid for some time... and if restaurant is too busy churning them out or if it's slow season they won't do this properly. It not only wasn't fully marinated, I think the marinade was off because the spiciness was way out of balance and was overpowering. Perhaps knowing that it didn't have enough time to marinade the kitchen put extra diced jalapenos to compensate? Because that's exactly what it tasted like - you can't fool me. I tried to salvage the dish by asking a confused-looking girl server for some sugar, but yeah, can't un-do the overpowered marinade with sprinkling of sugar. This was really unfortunate as I was looking forward to a good bite. - Ahjae Gookbap (Main, $18, 5/5) - Thankfully, their namesake gookbap was spot-on to salvage our dining. Generous slabs of succulent beef on the bone and off the bone was swimming in a hearty beef/bone broth that tasted clean and focused. Portion was good, and can I say their banchan of fish cake moochim & unfermented kimchi & ggakdugi(radish kimchi) simply ROCKS? That was some serious deliciousness and dare I say value at $18 at a day and age where hamburger costs over $10! You win at life by ordering this! 3. SERVICE (4/5) - Our server girl was attentive and food came out early on though later it was a bit hard to get her attention promptly. We found ourselves putting hands in the air, and wavin' like we don't care... for a little while. They provide gloves & metal bin for gejang which was a nice touch for people to keep their fingers clean. One thing I'd like to mention: Plastic cup they served water in was all chipped on the rim so we instead went and got water from their hot & cold water dispenser which had metal cups (as many korean restaurants do). I'd suggest them to replace all these old plastic cups with metal ones for health reasons. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal. I'd chock up the gejang mishap to it being a holiday. I hope chef was just off with the marinade that day because I am a certified gejang pro(I catch and make my own) and that balance ain't it. But I will give it another try during warmer month and we'll definitely be back to try sooyook moochim, oyster jeon & other great soup offerings.

Ordered three things: 1) marinated crabs, small size (5/5). Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.

This time around, it's a stronger 5 out of 5 because of our waiter was amazing. Ugh, I can't remember his name. He was on top of everything and making sure our food was grilled in a timely manner. He was quick to follow up with orders/requests that didn't come through when the kitchen didn't bring them out. Usually my gripe or disclaimer I give to people is that Wooga is great at everything except wrapping up things on the end. In the past, whenever I went, it would take forever (!!!!!) to get our check and pay. It was so frustrating but this time around, it was a bit faster. It's a win-win situation because we get to pay and leave and the restaurant has another table for customers. Though on the pricier side, Wooga does check off all the boxes of: -amazing meat quality -amazing & attentive service -they don't skimp on banchans (side dishes that I heard other restaurants are starting to limit) -several meat combo options -best Korean steamed egg in the North Jersey area We tried the thinly sliced oxtails, which were really good but pretty pricey for $38cash/$39.90card for 11oz of it. There are some things that are inconvenient (long waits, very small parking lot) but it's easy to overlook them once you have a meal at Wooga. Things to know before you go: -Their menu is updated on their website if you want to check that out before you go. -The earlier you go, the better your chance of being seated quickly. Weekends are definitely a longer wait, so plan ahead. -Their parking lot is small so it fills up super quickly, so you'll have to park across the street and play Frogger (maybe you might be too young to know this reference?) to cross the 4 lanes of Palisade Ave. -When you arrive, make sure to check in with the host/hostess so that you could get a pager to know when your table is ready. Your turn can come pretty fast sometimes depending on the timing.

The USDA Prime Rib Finger and Pork Shoulder were both delicious, but I think what makes this Korean BBQ restaurant shine is their accompaniments. We were seated at the table directly in front of the far back-right table (when looking from the counter). From the moment we sat down, the service was hostile: Aggressive Attitude: As soon as we sat, she demanded our order loudly. When we asked questions about the menu, she answered with visible irritation. While we were briefly discussing options with our children, she slammed her notepad onto our table with a loud "bang" and walked away, startling both us and our kids. Negligent Service: She continued to be rude throughout the meal, literally tossing side dishes onto the table. Furthermore, the exhaust hood at our table wasn't working properly, causing the smoke from the pork belly to fill the air and make it hard to breathe. She didn't check on us until much later. Ruined Meal Flow: While we were still eating our pork belly, she came over and--without asking--scraped all the meat onto a side plate to clear the grill for the spicy squid. We had to eat cold, greasy pork belly instead of enjoying it warm off the grill. She never even asked if we wanted fried rice afterward and ignored our table for the rest of the night. We always try to treat service staff with respect and gratitude, but this experience was unacceptable. Despite our polite demeanor, we were treated with zero professional courtesy. If the manager or owner is reading this, please look into the staff working that shift. This waitress needs serious retraining in basic customer service. It's a shame because we loved this restaurant, but after tonight, we have no desire to return.
