Came back a second time and I had the empanadas of the day which were brisket and a pork belly rice bowl. The empanadas are stellar! Big, not greasy and packed withmeaty deliciousness. The pork belly bowl is outstanding with lots of flavors, textures and temperature. An excellent option to taste his creativity if you don't want a sandwich.

While I was said to see Kimchi Smoke go away I was thrilled that Chef Austin Cho opened a new place. Although a bit far from home I ordered online and made the journey to Austin Cho Kitchen. It's a tiny storefront where you can see the man himself cooking away. Very friendly service. Easy online ordering and it was ready when I got there. We got the Brussels sprouts (outstanding), French fries, Cajun fries, and kimchi. All good but I'd go regular fries over Cajun next time. We got the pork belly xxx sandwich which was fantastic. We also got the brisket Sammie and the pulled pork sandwich. They were both delicious. The quality of the meat and the fresh veggies and sauces are simply the best. Wish it was closer but I will be back for sure. Limited seating on stools inside but I want to eat in so I can get a Cho nut. Love the chef and his cooking rocks. Street parking available. Must try in my book.

The steak was cooked perfectly and the pastas flavor was great. We also order sangria. It wasn't too sweet which was a plus for me. The service was great. Poor Service & Lack of Preparation During Peak Hours Complimentary bread has always been provided here, but none was served tonight. When I asked about it at 6:50 PM--right during peak dinner hours--the staff simply claimed they ran out because of the holiday. If it is a busy holiday, management should properly prepare sufficient inventory. 2. Discrepancy Between Menu Prices and Actual Bill The prices charged on our final bill did not match the prices listed on the menu. Overcharging customers without prior notice is deceptive and unacceptable. 3. Violation of NJ Credit Card Surcharge Notice Laws Under New Jersey law, businesses charging different prices for cash versus credit cards must clearly display the surcharge fees on both the menu and visible signage near the entrance/register. This restaurant had zero notices displayed, yet applied differential charges arbitrarily. 4. Unauthorized 20% Auto-Gratuity on a Party of 4 We were a small party of four. Despite not meeting any standard large-party threshold, the restaurant added a mandatory 20% tip to our bill without consent or prior warning, using the "holiday" as an excuse. Forcing an automatic tip on a 4-person table without agreement is fraudulent. No matter how the food tastes, operating a business by deceiving customers and violating state regulations is unacceptable. I will never come back to this establishment.

He was able to order easily and the food was given to him in a reasonable amount of time. They have color printed menus with nice photos for each dish. I ordered the bolon verde with chicharrón. When I started eating I noticed there was no chicharrón but I kept going thinking I was encounter it soon. I got halfway through the bolon and found all the chicharrón had been packed in the center of the bolon. On top of that, all of the chicharrón was burnt to a crisp. I laughed because it honestly felt like a prank. I'm not sure how much my brother paid but no price was worth what I received. My brother ordered grilled chicken, rice and beans. My sister had a beef empanada. They liked their items and had no issues. Given that my siblings items were okay I cannot say I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I just wouldn't recommend the bolons from this place. There are other Ecuadorian places in the same neighborhood (walking distance from this place!!) that serve bolons consistently well made. I hope that they are consistent with their other dishes and no one strikes out like I did.

Their baked goods appear to be made from scratch by someone. The offerings are not consistent. The catfish is exceptional, for instance, but the short ribs and meatloaf were bland and likely purchased from a cafeteria purveyor which they merely reheat. The collards and cabbage are wonderful but once or twice, too heavily handed with salt. Given the cost of food lately, their prices have risen accordingly. What used to be a relatively reasonably priced, nutritious and satisfying meal may have become only an occasional, rather than regular treat.

"We don't want your business," was actually shouted at us before we exited. We were also defrauded after placing a phone order for two meals at the pricing listed online, having the price verified by the person taking our order ("Hassan"), and even calling back a second time to let "Hassan" know we were running a bit late due to traffic, but still coming. However, upon our arrival, our food order was missing or possibly never even prepared! Instead of offering to make the situation right, the woman identifying herself as the female owner proceeded to literally shout at and talk down to us, believing she had the right to treat customers with flagrant disrespect, as if they were dirt. An atmosphere like Paula's is simply not a safe space, underscoring the need for a higher quality, much more welcoming Southern/Soul Food restaurant in North Jersey.
