AND some of the best cornbread I've every had ( including the southern states I visit.) I love cornbread and this is moist ( not crumbly or dry). Wings are one of my weaknesses, so I'm always on the hunt for the best ones in Jersey. Buffalo's is a local, family-owned business that cooks up Southern-style fried chicken fresh on the premises. In addition to chicken, they serve BBQ ribs, burgers, sandwiches, paninis, and wraps. They also have the classic comfort food sides like mac & cheese and cornbread. The interior is similar to a fast food take-out restaurant, but don't be fooled. They cook everything fresh on the spot using non-processed meat. Even their sauces are produced in small batches based on demand. Trust me, you'll be able to smell all of that deliciousness once you walk in. We were greeted by a friendly employee who gave us some recommendations on wing sauces. We ordered the Wing Sampler (~$22 for 15 pieces), fries (~$5), and cornbread (~$3). For our wings, we were able to choose up to 3 sauces. I was a bit disappointed that they don't offer any dry rubs, only wet marinades... dry rub or bust. We went with the Original Mild House Sauce, Sweet Thai, and Jerk Seasoning. The wings were huge, meaty, and tender! All of the sauces were delicious, but my favorite was the Sweet Thai. The jerk sauce had the right blend of ingredients, giving you that kick of heat and flavor. They went a bit heavier on the breading than what I prefer. I prefer no breading with a crunchy skin. We stopped by for lunch while running some errands in the area. Upon arriving it is street parking so there is either ample parking or you have to search around. Before we even walked in you could smell the freshly fried chicken which smells absolutely amazing and makes you even hungrier. The staff here are extremely friendly and patient. We had no idea what to order so we sat down and looked through the menu. This is definitely a popular takeout spot as we were reading the menu. We ordered alot of food as my boyfriend's eyes are about as large are his stomach! He ordered their crispy chicken sandwich which came out towering and crispy. We ordered a 12 piece of wings and got the honey bbq sauce and spicy Buffalo. I loved the spicy Buffalo sauce. The wings were tender and the meat was moist. They were huge wings so be prepared. We also ordered the Dave's special fries which was good. Just a very very large portion. It definitely could've have way less sauce on the pork so you taste the cheese and fries underneath. I ordered the honey bbq chicken wrap and I ate about half of it there. I removed most of the lettuce and tomatoes and they did not taste ripe or correct t the lettuce had an odd taste to it. But overall the food was good. We paid as we got our takeout containers as it was so much food we could not finish it all. I have to say it was good and not sure I'd come back. I've passed by Buffalo's Chicken Shack numerous times and finally tried it one Friday afternoon for takeout, when hubby said he was craving some BBQ. We ordered the half chicken and full slab combo. It comes with a piece of cornbread and two sides. For the sides, we went with the mac and cheese and the corn. The chicken was very smoky (not my cup of tea) and dry (also not my cup of tea). The ribs were okay but I wish all the extra sauce was on the side for dipping instead of having the ribs drenched. The mac and cheese wasn't bad. The corn was almost inedible. They were just overboiled frozen corn kernels with a ton of artificial-tasting butter. We also ordered the 12-piece wings, which allows you to choose two sauces. We got the lemon pepper and spicy garlic parmesan. The sauces were pretty good but the wings were SO oily. I knew it wasn't a healthy meal but we felt gross after the meal. We were always intrigued by the sign outside that advertised 50 cent wings on Wednesdays. (which by the way, they still have the sign outside but when you go inside, there's another sign that says they are pausing wing night for the time being. Kind of shady). We've been coming here regularly, and the food is always delicious and consistently great. We tend to order the same things each time, their pulled pork quesadillas, buffalo chicken nachos, crispy chicken sandwich, and fried chicken and each meal never disappoints. This place is an absolute must go to if you're craving wings or old fashioned fried chicken. Everything is made fresh on premises. The chicken has that perfectly crispy skin with perfectly cooked, juicy meat. They don't just stop at chicken. Their mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, corn bread, are all absolutely phenomenal! Everyone inside was extremely nice and helpful, even considering that I was picking up near closing and we all know at that point, we're all tired. Not these guys and gals... They were going strong. Being from the South this is my go to place. People are really friendly and food is great.

After a recommendation from my friend, James, I ordered online and my order was perfectly organized. The Spicy Garlic Wings were DELICIOUS!! The ribs are so beautifully cooked that they fall apart and should be eaten delicately with your fingers. The cole slaw and mac and cheese were very tasty but I have no room for the cornbread so I will have to review that another time. The wings were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. So perfectly fried, not dry at all. The cornbread was dense and warm and soft. Ask for butter on top. I'm glad I listened to other reviews! Also, let's talk about the size of the wings. No cheap tiny little wings here. There was a good mix of drums and flats (although I'm a flats girl through and through). I came in really hungry but was super full by the time I finished all of my food. I really recommend eating at the restaurant instead of ordering takeout, because the sauce will inevitably make the wings soggy eventually. But if you eat it fresh, it's so delicious and doesn't get soggy for a while (assuming you don't take an hour to eat your food). 10/10 would recommend! I ordered from them a long time ago and this is my apology. I didn't really like the food the first time.. I went about maybe 5 6 years ago and I just never went back. so recently on YouTube I started following this guy named Kingschratz from the area and he's been spot on and truthful in other places and he raved so much about this restaurant on multiple videos that I had to give them a second chance needless to say he was right I won't get into specifics, but I don't like pulled pork and I don't like chicken and waffles, but I like their pulled pork and I like their chicken and waffles for some strange reason lol the catfish was amazing now onto the wings... Most places either give me what's left or say we are out. Not here...friendly smiles and freshly cooked to order 15-20mins. This was a pleasant little chicken shack that I stopped at to kill some time and get some lunch. Upon coming in there was a lively group chatting with the owner and excited about the lotto machine they have inside and I guess during the lunch hour they give out a free bonus ticket which can make for a good time. The space is small and cozy but good for one large group, smaller tables and counter seating. Of course with it being 70 cent wings Wednesday I had to go with that. There are over 14 different sauces to choose from I got Orange ginger, jerk, spicy honey and honey. Of these four the spicy honey and jerk were the best but I'd love to try some of the others in a return visit. What was really great about the place which I value is the friendliness of the staff and the owner. She was very friendly with myself and the other patrons. What a great local joint, with amazing wings, awesome staff, and fast service. We sat at the counter because the place was packed, wednesday is 70 cent wing night, which is a great deal considering these are monster wings. They have a large selection of sauces, in order of sweet to deathly spicy. I got their version of thai chili, and a buffalo/sriracha sauce. Both were amazing, the wings are perfectly crispy on the outside tender juicy meat on the inside. I also tried their parm garlic sauce which is ridiculous, very rich, creamy, and a punch of garlic in your face. We also got their chili cheese fries. The fries alone are amazing, crunchy exterior with a creamy inside, but the chili is also amazing and with everything on top of these fries, they held up and never became soggy. When we were sitting there a sweet little old lady walks in (apparently a routine diner), they right away jump to service here, giving her waffles and scrambled eggs. One of the employees even gave her a bunch of free sides. As I travel quite a bit I choose to frequent chain locations for buffalo wings as I always know what I'm going to get. So this was a little bit outside my comfort zone but I figured what the heck. The wings were huge! The flavor was really big too. The reason I took a star off was because they were kind of soggy. Honestly, I would consider them a three star wing but more than likely if I actually ate them at Buffalo's they would've been much less soggy. I really like my wings to have a little crispness to them. That's why I usually get them double fried where possible. Two words: Wednesday Wingsday I saw Buffalo's Chicken Shack on the weekly Yelp. I love wings, so I bookmarked it. I soon found that they had a special on Wednesdays for 70 cent wings, so I dragged a few friends along to try it out with me. We ordered at the counter, and waited for the staff to clean a table for us. I'm pretty sure everyone working there is a family member. They're very friendly and nice to talk to. I usually order 20 wings and fries to share. So far, I have had their Spicy Garlic Parmesan,Original Spicy, Rooster, Firestarter, Numb Ya Face, and most recently, the Misery wings. My favorite sauce by far is the spicy garlic parmesan, but the numb ya face is a close second. The misery wings are QUITE SPICY, but still flavorful. They're just not a wing i would want to eat 20 of. The wings are large and meaty. They don't give you little tiny wings like some places do. They also put just the right amount of sauce. The fries are good because i usually get em covered in cheese sauce, which i'm pretty sure they just buy. I've also tried their fried chicken, which was SOLID, along with a piece of their cornbread. If you're looking for fried chicken, wings, catfish and comfort food like cornbread, green beans, mac and cheese, and the crispiest fries, you will not find a place that does it better than Buffalo's.
