    So much pastrami in Rueben
    Vanessa A.

Loved the Rueben I ordered! When you order they give you some slices of meat to snack on while you wait. This was a bit fatty for my liking but still good. I got the Rueben with pastrami and it was perfect. There was so much meat that when I pulled the sandwich apart the pastrami was overflowing. The whole sandwich was way too much for me to eat in one sitting. You get pickles with sandwich as well. Also got an order of potato latkes. They were good as well. Bill came to a little less than $30. There is a cash discount.

I have to come here more often! An amazing pastrami sandwich for a reasonable price! Usually only eat half of my sandwich and take the other half home, which tastes even better the next day! If you like pastrami and haven't been to Pastrami Grill Bistro, check it out

Absolutely lives up to the hype! The pastrami is insanely tender like melt in your mouth kind of good. The sandwich is definitely messy, but that's how you know it's done right when its packed and stacked with meat! Even with a line out the door, the guys behind the counter cutting the meat are friendly and keep things moving. They even hand out samples while you wait, which makes the whole experience feel welcoming (and honestly makes the wait easier).

The staff here are so nice! As you order at the counter, they give you some slices of pastrami or corned beef while you wait (as they should!) and my god. That first taste really tells you what you're in for. Watching them slice the meat in front of you gives such great satisfaction and it truly makes your mouth water. By the time they hand you your sandwich, you can't wait to bite into the juicy goodness of it ! -1 star only for the space because of how small it is, but I assume most people order to-go rather than to sit and dine-in. All in all, some of the best pastrami and corned beef I've had in a while ! My family and I used to go to Harold's all the time but now this might be our spot.

Update: I've finally tried the pastrami. The sandwiches are huge. We got the pastrami cheese fries, and a corned beef reuben. The pastrami is really good and is very tender. The fries are steak fries, which I don't typically love but it worked well as a vehicle for the pastrami. The corned beef is a bit dry. We had some pierogies but these were superrrr oily. We also ordered a matzoh ball soup because I've never had it before. But the second I saw them microwave it in a plastic container, I knew I had made a mistake. It was basically just a matzoh ball in very salty chicken bouillon water. I'm sad that was my first matzoh ball soup experience but am not deterred from finding a real one elsewhere. Based on my previous visit and this one, it seems like you should just stick to a classic pastrami sandwich. It's big enough to share between two people. Next time, I'd like to dine in and eat it fresh. The sandwiches also come with a bunch of pickles, which was nice. Tip #1 - there is a parking lot but because there are so many stores and it's next to Bratek Deli, it's a nightmare. It did also happen to be Good Friday, so maybe that made it worse? I don't remember it being that bad the first time around. Tip #2 - I called ahead to place my order but still had to wait 15 minutes extra after the quoted time. They prioritize walk-in customers, so you might as well just order in store.

Absolutely delicious, magical pastrami. Whenever I've wanted pastrami, nothing could compare to Katz's or 2nd Ave Deli in NYC. Well, this is super close or even better. I couldn't believe how moist and delicious this pastrami is. We got the pastrami sandwich and reuben pastrami. When you order, they give you a generous portion to sample and they pile the meat high on the sandwich. The sandwich was so big I could only finish half of it. I ate it the next day and it tasted even better. It's truly magical pastrami. Nice, casual place with a few booths to eat at. The service is great and friendly. Bring your patience when you go. It took a while to order because it was busy and because they took such care when making my sandwich. They trimmed the cuts and looked like they were picking the best cuts for the sandwich. Definitely come here. It's worth the trip, wherever you're coming from.

Come with your appetites strong and your mouths watering. My husband and I were lucky enough to drop in while there was a rare lull in service, which meant we got time to pore over the menu before stepping up to the ordering counter. The sight that greets you at said counter is enough to whet your appetite. Behind a plexiglass window, there are hot pans filled with fresh, uncut pastrami and knife-wielding men expertly slicing up those meat heaps into portions. They have a lovely custom of serving up some sample portions on a plate for you to taste as they prepare your order. My husband ordered the pastrami burger thinking it would just be a pastrami sandwich with added lettuce and tomatoes. We didn't realize this was a behemoth of a meal, complete with a burger patty, caramelized onions, and healthy schmears of house-made Russian dressing and whole grain mustard. Oh, and freshly fried steak fries on the side. It was truly a meal to behold, as every single pair of eyes in the restaurant were glued to that plate as we passed by them to find a seat. The burger patty itself was just fine (and perhaps a little dry), but when topped with pastrami and toppings, this burger felt like the pinnacle of pastrami decadence. If anything fell slightly short for us, the cole slaw felt a little too slick and thick with mayonnaise. But that's hardly a dig when they're serving up sky-high sandwiches of quality meat. The space inside is tight, especially when there's a line. During our meal, we watched the line grow until it was out the door, which left little room to navigate when we needed to shimmy back to get a takeout box or extra sauce. There are tables on one side, larger booths on the other, and even a few tables outside.

OMG!!!!! We all had the Pastrami here. Out of this world. Freshly cut & mouth watering. French Fries were great, Macaroni salad was also delicious. I could only finish half the sandwich. The sandwich was at least 3 inches high crazy & delicious. Highly recommended!!!!

If you love pastrami sandwiches, corned beef, or brisket--this spot is 100% where you need to be. I had no idea what I was walking into, and honestly... I was blown away. From the moment you step inside, everything feels right. Parking is easy with a spacious lot in the mini plaza, so no stress there. Then you walk in and the service? Top tier. Quick, friendly, generous, and professional. They even offer samples (which I skipped only because I didn't want to ruin my appetite). Now let's talk about the food. The portions are very generous, and the meat is tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. I ordered the sloppy joe, and WOOWWW... I was so satisfied I ended up only eating half. Not because I wanted to stop eating but I had to! It was that good. Every bite was flavorful, perfectly heated, and just overall done right. Honestly, no review fully does this place justice--not even mine. This is one of those "you just have to try it" spots. And the best part? It won't break your wallet like you might expect for this quality. I could keep going, but I'll leave it at this: go see for yourself. You won't regret it.

No need to go to Katz's Deli in the city...just go to pastrami grill in Garfield! Definitely worth the visit for the delicious pastrami and corned beef. We had ordered a corned beef Reuben and the Rachel with pastrami. As the order was being prepared, we got to sample the meats. The corned beef was delicious and tender. The sandwiches were piled high with meats. Very delicious! I highly recommend visiting!

Went the long way to try this before going to the airport to return home, and I was glad to have made the long detour to stop here. Ordered 4 pastrami sandos + 1 corned beef sando to go. Got a plate with generous sample of the pastrami before they started making the sandwiches. The sample was a bit underwhelming, didnt blast the mouth with typical salty flavors. But it was tender as heck and maybe salty enough once layered in a sandwich. The meat portions were very generous in each sandwich. I am glad I didnt go for the doubled up meat option I saw on the online ordering lol. Better to get 2 regular sandwiches since already stacked, instead of 1 sandwich which probably would turn into leaning tower of pisa if doubled the meat. After 4 pastrami made, I had to remind I also wanted 1 corned beef sandwich. I was a bit confused since it was initially just corned beef into bread and closing up so I asked doesn't it have Russian dressing and all since the menu seemed to say Russian dressing, cole slaw, cheese. Just the Russian dressing got added, so I just left it at that since maybe I am confused at the menu. 2 kinds of pickles sliced on the spot and wrapped up to go. FYI, credit card use will add 3% surcharge. Felt good to carry a heavy bag to the airport. Early at the gate with other family members. We chowed down on the sandwiches for dinner before the flight. It was absolutely delicious! Seems wife preferred the corned beef with Russian dressing. I liked the corned beef too but I think my preference was for the pastrami. So simple, pastrami & mustard on rye bread. Yet everything combined was simply amazingly enjoyable! The mustard and rye bread were so flavorful, or maybe the pastrami juices combine with it to make such a flavorful flavorful combo? The rye bread was a bit soggy since time passed, but it was so good I was wondering how can the simple rye bread taste this good. Savored every bite with greasy fingers and all (gate was next to the restrooms for easy hand washing lol). My initial worry of pastrami being a bit bland on the sample plate vaporized from memory. Everything just works perfectly. Plus bites of the pickles can provide the added brine and freshness when needed. Had 1 pastrami sando left over so brought that back to LA. Just nuked it and toasted up more in the air fryer since it spent a long time from purchase to going into the fridge many hours later. Gotta say the reheated/toasted maybe even better! The rye bread toasted up well to mesh with the hot pastrami and mustard to provide another meal back at home! Wife wished we had gotten one more pastrami sando to bring home 2 lol. Was def worth the extra detour:)

This has been my second time here. There are only about 10 tables to eat in. Orders are placed at the counter with 3 or 4 sandwich preparers. They give a generous sample of the meat which you ordered. We had two pastrami Reubens and a corned beef with Swiss cheese. The sandwiches are enormous, most of the fat was trimmed, leaving just enough to make the sandwiches very tasty. They give you a plateful of new pickles that were also delicious. Why go into NYC to get a rediculously priced, equally as good sandwich? The Pastrami Grill is about half the price of most of the famous NYC delis, and no tolls or congestion pricing, with no traffic on this side of the river. Reubens were $17.95 each and the corned beef with Swiss was $16.95.

    Dan H.

Three guys behind the counter trimming fat from delicious corn beef and pastrami meat to serve delicious authentic sandwiches this side of the Hudson. Ordered the combo on rye with brown mustard and I have to say it was plentiful and delicious for only $18. My buddy ordered a pastrami on a roll, equally great. Highly recommended even if out of the way, it's still s bargain over going to NY. The interior is not fancy by any means and it seems to do huge take out biz.

We finally made it this past weekend to Vinnie's Mootz for one of their special tasting menu…read morenights, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. If you're expecting a typical dinner, think again. The tasting menu featured around 12 courses, and by course ten I was completely full--but somehow still excited for what was coming next. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, packed with flavor and very tasty. For me the standout of the night was the very first dish which was Vinnie's homemade mozzarella with tomatoes, which was so good that we even bought some fresh mozzarella to take home. The meatballs were also outstanding, and the steak and eggplant course was another highlight. After all that food, finishing with a cannoli just felt like the perfect ending. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, but the food is every bit as good as what you'd find at restaurants that cost a lot more. Live guitar music throughout the evening added to the experience created a nice vibe. My only suggestion would be maybe to turn it down a notch or two as it was a little hard to hear others at our table. Still a very nice touch though and all songs you would know. I always like it when a chef comes out of the kitchen, especially at a tasting menu, and Vinnie came out several times to chat with guests which was very nice. It just added a personal touch and showed how much pride goes into both the food and the overall experience and we got to hear his back story. This tasting menu is an incredible value and a great way to try dishes you might not normally order. Just remember to come hungry--and maybe skip lunch beforehand. If you can get a reservation for one of these tasting nights, don't hesitate.

After my first visit, I can say the tongue-in-cheek spirit of Vinnie Mootz's signage carries right through the front door and into its lineup of "SANGWEECHES." I ordered "The Nicky Mootz" -- cutlet, bacon, hot sauce, and fresh mootz -- and enjoyed it immensely in the friendly, medium-sized dining room. The pizza, which I plan to try on a future visit, looked excellent, and the small assortment of hand-stretched mozzarellas is reason enough to stop back in the next time I'm passing through. Great cocktails - I had the "goodfella" - mellow old fashioned. Would have loved that with a cigar! The ladies had cosmos and they were pleased. The menu is limited but a diverse set of selections. No specials - not sure if they offer specials on the weekends. We'll find out on our next visit. For apps: I enjoyed my tortilla soup - more like a chili consistency than soup - and it was delicious! We shared wings as well. They were crispy and meaty and they'll default to mixing in a choice of sauces or they'll bring the sauces on the side for you. Nice touch! For entrees: Can't go wrong with the burger or the chicken sandwich. Add truffle fries for $1 up charge - worth it! Coming back to try the blackened cod sandwich or fish n chips with salt and vinegar fries. (They were just out of cod when we arrived at around 8:00pm - next time!). My wife had the chicken parm - huge portion, decent marinara (rare that my wife orders red sauce outside of a bonafide Italian restaurant) with a side of lasagna-looking pasta - very good!
