A very affordable steakhouse on Route 17. The place can be cozy, but a bit too "old", all wooden and dark. The bar area is much better to have a quick drink. The place can be very noisy since it is a small place, but again, their steak is very reasonably priced. We had the NY Strip - lunch special- and Fried cod. One of the NY strip was perfectly medium while the second one was rather well done. Would not - shouldn't have ordered fried cod at a steak house hahaha. A very casual place.

Just visiting family and dear to enjoy a steak dinner at Steve's with our group. Place is always packed but the accommodated us in a half hour. Their filet mignon broiled to medium rare is my preferred cooking style and the sautéed onions accompanied each bite. Fries soaked in maggi sauce supported the steak as did an extra helping of mushrooms. Too full for my own dessert I ran my fork into everyone else's. Tasted the Oreo cookie thing, the cheesecake and the lava cake. All a big yum! When you go, ample parking on site and full bar inside.

Food was okay. I've had better and worse. Steak definitely has an interesting flavor to it. I did the 18oz rib eye. Broccoli was good. Service was okay. They never really came to ask "how's things, need anything "?

When you're hungover and craving something salty Steve's is the spot. If you don't like salt make side your get sauce on the side of your steak. Love the mushrooms!! Unfortunately Steve's has been raising prices steadily for years and I think price outweighs product now. Anyway that keep me from the salty goodness so I'll be back for a steak and some incredibly cold dirty martinis.

Great steak. Great flavor. The Maggie sauce is incredible, highly recommend the filet it was cooked perfect and was super tender. Fairly priced. A little old inside but as long as the food is good and the place is clean I don't mind at all. The service is great they get everything out fast. Weekends are super busy but they get you a table quick. Highly recommend.

As a long time new jerseyian who has driven past route 17, I've been always curious about Steve's. Known for their sizzling steaks this restaurant is known to be an iconic institution in northern nj that have been open for 86 years. I finally ventured into Steves and ordered their iconic sizzling steak a 22oz cowboy ribeye and ordered it medium rare. Sure enough it came out sizzling served with some of their jus on top and a handful of steak fries. The steak was definitely more on the rare side but I think there is no great way to cook the steak to temp given maybe they just broil them on a hot plate. Steak was good quality -- but extremely fatty, even fattier than you would expect with a classic ribeye cut. The "jus" that the steak is served with is extremely salty -- if you don't tolerate salt well, ask for no sauce or sauce on the side. Fries were delicious, can you really go wrong with hot crispy steak fries? Sizzling steaks are also served with a side garden salad. Service was really nice and knowledgeable-- seemed like people who have worked their a long time. Inside ambience is really similar to an older dive bar, lots of animal heads, signs on the walls, fishes, and vintage pictures. Ambience and dining experience does not reflect the price of the menu items -- steak was around $55 and our one app was close to $15. Our party spent close to $250 for a sizzling steak at a dive bar -- glad I finally tried it but won't be returning. Would return if steak prices were closer to $25-30 dollars.

I LOVE places like "The Triple S"! Family owned for it's 86 years in the business. Opened in an era when people didn't come close to dining out as much as we do now. Finding a niche amongst the super expensive chains ( ala "R-th's C-ris Steakhouse, etc) that charge you for everything but the napkins. Super casual (T-shirt, shorts? sure!) Very friendly, attentive staff. Plenty of parking. I haven't eaten here in decades and am so glad we all went back recently. The atmosphere is like an old hunting lodge ( 2 bars with 3 dining rooms) filled with mounted trophy game, tin signs, kitschy items, and signed sports memorabilia. Great for family dining of all ages. Plenty of TVs to catch a game. THE MENU..........since it's really about the food...... Small menu. Mostly steaks and a few burgers. A pork chop. fish n chips. Salads. French onion soup. A few sides: mushrooms, onion rings, french fries, creamed spinach....That's about it. ( No bake or mash potatoes) IMO the small menu has been perfected. The steaks are great! They have a preparation called "Sizzlin" where the main ingredient has a Maggi Seasoning taste. It's been around for over 100 years old. Its a little salty, but has an immense, distinctive flavor that has a large following. ( Menu states they can prepare it "non-Sizzlin" but you have to try it.) They do make current, fun cocktails like a mango margarita or espresso martini or you can just have a beer. The prices are excellent compared to any other steak house. It may not be the greatest steak in NJ, but it's damn good at a great price, and laid back. I think everyone should go to Steve's to see a part of Bergen County restaurant history. That being said I'll be going more often.

I've put off going to Steve's for a long time, always seeing another steakhouse to go to with better reviews, and I gotta say I am pretty upset I haven't come sooner. I ordered the cowboy steak, which was cooked exactly the way I like (medium rare), nicely seasoned, and just fatty enough to give it that extra boost of flavor. The fries and mushrooms that came with the steak were good as well. For dessert, I ordered a key lime pie, which was good and a pretty sizable portion. I will say my drink was a bit expensive, getting a Jameson on the rocks is usually not a killer to the wallet (I paid what I would normally pay for a 15 year Macallan). The staff and their service were pleasant, very attentive to our needs. The location itself is a throwback, kind of divey looking steakhouse compared to a lot of places nowadays, but I dug it.

Very cute local joint with good food, but it is not worth all the hype. It could've been a little better. The coconut shrimp was overcooked. The crab cake was a very small portion and needed a garlic aïoli or wasabi sauce instead of cocktail sauce ,the filet mignon was good. The broccoli was very good. The cream spinach was a little too creamy for my friends. The Service was but could've been better.

True Score: 4.25 Stars What a classic!!! 70's decor, great old school food, hard drinks, a horseshoe bar. I fell in love upon walking in. The servers were wonderful to us as well. We had a steak, coconut shrimp, Mary's special burger, French onion soup, and fried zucchini with the delicious horseradish Dijon sauce. Everything was delicious. For an old school place, the bill can add up quickly. Tip: Get the top sirloin and save yours a few bucks, it's delicious. The whole experience was a win, we will always stop here when driving through the area. Thanks

Argentine cuisine is a blend of influences from the Italian and Spanish immigrants with its chief national product, beef. They say the reason Argentine steak is so good is that its cattle graze on the country's plentiful pampas grass, rather than being grain-fed as American cattle are. The result is leaner, more flavorful, and more nutritious beef. One such establishment is on Moonachie Road in Moonachie, where my partners, our friends and I decided on Saturday dinner. Reservations were easily made via OpenTable. Upon entering this cozy, modern interior of Tango Steak as first-timers, we were greeted by the host and got a table right away. We were here 3 years ago when it was El Tango Argentina Grill. The vibe has completely changed. It's now darker and louder, not family-friendly. Music was at a decent volume and does seem to increase as it gets later, giving it a lounge type. As an appetizer, we started with Beef and Chicken Empanadas as well as Calamares (Calamari). For our main meal, we decided on the Extrana (Skirt Steak) with Mashed Potatoes & Chimichurri Sauce and Tango Burger accompanied with Fries. Food was good, not awesome. Our appetizers were tasty and well seasoned. The Skirt Steaks tasted fantastic with the Chimichurri Sauce. The Mashed Potatoes had a nice texture. However, some of us asked that their Tango Burgers be made medium but came out well done. The Fries were salty and very dry. Our service was horrendous, but our server was Nathaly who was accommodating and apologetic. Some of us had gotten their appetizer faster than others. The duration between our appetizers and the main meal was an hour. The food was not cheap given the portions received and the 20% gratuity added automatically to the bill. With insult to injury, their valet attendant charged $5. Definitely not what we expected, which is why we sadly can't recommend this place.

Knowing that and taking some recommendations from those who ate here previously, the majority of us chose Paella as our entrée. We started out with appetizers. All three were fabulous, especially the calamari. Maybe one of the best I ever had. Super fresh. The sauce was for dipping the calamari. It was very good. For my main entrée, I ordered the paella Venetian. As a kicker, I included lobster. You certainly get a ton of food, more than you would probably finish. The paella included clams, paella of course, and tomato. The lobster was very disappointing. I would recommend not ordering it snd pay that extra price for something that's not very large, but more importantly, not at all good tasting. The group overall enjoyed their meals. The prevailing comment was food was good but not great.

I have been craving a dry aged steak for awhile now. This is the kind of steak you can't get at your local supermarket or even your neighborhood butcher. So to the trusty web I turned and in Google I found a couple options. I narrowed my selection down to StrassBurger Steaks. Their website had the goods a Foodie Father like me was looking for. With a lineage of over 150 years in the Steak business how could this selection not be the right one? I turned to my trusted advisor in these matters (YELP,) and to my surprise StrassBurger had only 1 review with 1 star and to top it off, the reviewer lives in the same state and city. Now this reviewer, from what I could tell was on a similar mission as me. The negative part of their review had to do with the delivery of the goods (from the minimal critique offered) so I did what every loyal Yelp user would do, I backed out. But I couldn't get those images out of my head. Those steaks looked so good! I searched around my local area to satisfy my craving. Alas I only found what I would describe as mediocre offerings, it was then I decided I was going to give StrassBurger Steaks a shot. I placed my order for bone-in rib steaks and a tomahawk. I made sure I would be at home to receive the delivery, like junky waiting for a fix. 16 hours later my doorbell sang the sweet songs of a FedEX delivery. I tore into the package like a child on Christmas morning, eager to inspect the goods. To my surprise, or should I say my joy, the steaks were a cool 40.0 °F a mear 8.0 °F from freezing. I know because I used a digital meat thermometer to check, since the previous review stated the warmth of the goods, but in my case everything was perfect! So with the goods in hand, I was off to the next stage in my plan. How to cook these bad boys? I decided I would go the extra step and do some reading. For the meal I came up with: * Simply seasoned with sea salt and pepper * Sear the steaks on the BBQ to get a nice crisp crust to seal in the juices * Finish them off in the oven in an old cast iron pan * Add sides Hasselback potato and garlic butter sauteed Porcini mushrooms * Homemade Bearnaise sauce I am starting to salivate while I write this as the memories of endorphins being released come flooding back. To get to the point, these were in fact the best steaks I HAVE EVER MADE. I like to think it's the attention to the details, but I can't take all the credit. Each bite of steak literally melts in my mouth. When you have such a solid base to start with, you really can't go wrong. I can without a doubt recommend ordering steaks from StrassBurger and have recommended these fine purveyors of bovine bliss to my friends and family. Like with all things in life I am glad I went this my gut instinct here and placed this order. Had I just gone with the single bad review, I would have missed out on one of the best steak dinners I have ever had. I could honestly say these steaks were on point with fancy steak houses like Ruth Chris and would order again without hesitation. Attached are photos of my journey. Happy Fathers day!
