Visiting from California. This was by far the best steak I ever ate! It was cooked to perfection, and was truly 14 ounces,so big I had left overs for 2 more meals The taste was tender flavorful and out of this world! The mashed potatoes were falvirful too! This was a great value compared to a steak like this found in California. You can't even compare this steak to any one of theirs. 5 stars plus to Eleazar's!! The service too was awesome!! read more

First visit was solid, so I came back. That was a mistake! I won't be returning. Ordered a ribeye medium rare. What arrived was rare. I had to call the server over twice about it. She apologized and took it back. When it returned, I sliced it open again and it was still rare. She took the plate a second time with another "sorry," and that was it--no compensation, no offer to remake it properly, nothing. The server was the girl who works the late-night shift. Absolute worst service. She never checked on the table to make sure everything was okay--only showed up when I had to flag her down twice about the steak. The whole experience killed my appetite and ruined the meal. Not sure if they had a different cook on Wednesday, but whoever was on the grill that night has no business cooking at a place that calls itself a steakhouse. read more

I went today, 9/16 for a 2PM lunch. It was empty. The mashed potatoes were very good and the staff was very nice. I rate this place a 2 out of 5 stars for those 2 items. The rib eye was tough, cooked medium instead of Medium rare and the quality of the steak was poor The grilled apraragus was obviously old and limp.So many completely wrong reviews and there are 10 steak houses in Newark , in a 3 mile radius of there that put it to shame. read more

I doordashed chicken parmigiana and loved it. The quantity was enough to feed atleast 3 ppl.. i was surprised.. and it tasted so good, one of the best i have had! Will be ordering again for sure read more

How unfortunate to update this review, came here around the spring at first and had nothing but great things to do. Came back now being the fall and I'm not sure if they changed their cook-- but they did not cook my T-bone correctly. I asked for medium rare, and this is extremely rare. So, I brought it to the servers attention whereas one told me I couldn't get it cooked a bit more because it was already cut. Then another came to me saying they're able to now cook it more for me, but didnt hesitate to also explain that this is indeed medium rare, and I just didn't know my meats temperature. You be the judge-- all I asked was for it to be cooked more and rather then comply as is, got gaslit into believing I, the customer was wrong. In the end, I noticed tables beside me ALSO claimed to want their meat cooked, where they faced to same fate in being gaslit once more that the customer was just wrong. Wish the cook, and service was better, with less explaining, and more quick action to meet the customer needs. How can a steak house ever have a cook who can't cook meat correctly ? Would never come back. read more

Wow this place is a gem! Really awesome, tasty and well cooked food and BYOB! Came for dinner before going to see Jo Koy perform at Prudential center. This restaurant is only 18 mins away and we were able to find street parking. It's near an intersection but there is parking available on the street with people coming and going. Ordered the calamari to start which was delicious. Perfectly cooked and pretty impressed it didn't taste like seafood straight out of a freezer bag. Then came the cowboy ribeye with waffle fries and gosh damn everything was cooked perfectly. Perfectly crispy waffle fries (but I saw another table get the shoe string fries and baked potato and I was envious) and medium rare ribeye cooked to perfection as well. Very affordably priced and service was great. Will definitely be back again, next time I'm there for a weekend game. LETS GO DEVILS read more

I had a perfectly seasoned porterhouse with steak fries. Cooked to perfection medium well. Servers are very friendly and happy to answer questions. Establishment itself very nice, clean, and welcoming. Parking was the only downside. Looking forward to trying a burger next time. read more

What a great find! Only a few minutes drive from NJPAC so a great place eat before or after the show. We arrived 10 min before they opened and the staff were exceedingly accommodating! Great service, very polite and helpful. The cowboy steak was cooked perfectly and was juicy and tasty. The salmon cooked through as requested and was flaky and delicious. Grilled asparagus was a very generous portion and seasoned well and was quite tender. Overall we really enjoyed this place and highly recommend it! read more

I order this at least once a week. Unmatched: The bang for the buck on the 22oz bone-in ribeye. The flavor and cut are always top notch. Asparagus is always perfectly done. They do a great job packing it as well. I'll be making a point to actually eat there some time so to check out the vibe! read more

A Whole Experience! We found this steakhouse just walking by, and thank God we did! The food was unreal. Started with wings--fresh, crispy, full of flavor. Then came the ribeye... juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection. But let me tell you--that sauce they served with the steak? My partner would not shut up about it. You'd think he was filming a commercial the way he was going on and on--"So flavorful! So rich!" I was cracking up. I got the mac and cheese (which he also wouldn't stop stealing because it was that good), and he had the mashed potatoes, which were smooth, buttery, and gone in minutes. Even the broccoli was a hit--like, how is even the broccoli good?! The service was amazing too--friendly and on point. Definitely one of those accidental finds that ends up being your new favorite spot. read more

Had my food delivered and first time I'm eating here - it's delicious! I got a ribeye steak which was big! Also mashed potatoes, which were very good and Creamed spinach. The cream spinach was a little salty for me but still very good. I would definitely recommend this place to others And I'm sure I'll be ordering from here again. read more

If you're looking for amazing steaks that won't break the wallet, Eleazar Steakhouse is the place. They offer most main cuts any steakhouse offers, but without the typical white tablecloths. Here, It's all about the steak. Our table started with the 3 fries basket, and ordered the hanger steak, cowboy steak and the ribeye steak. Cooked perfectly, flavorful and juicy. And it's BYOB. You don't need to spend a lot to get a lot. We all left with leftovers. I highly recommend. read more

Eleazar Steakhouse - Rib Eye Steak, medium rare. Delicious. - Steakhouses Near Me - Harrison, New Jersey

This is a great gem in Harrison. The steak portions are generous yet delicious and juicy. The sides are super delicious and I can't say enough great things about their double slab bacon which I highly recommend and love. The restaurant is so reasonably priced and service is great. It's a BYOB family restaurant that is great for dates, family, friends, etc. It's not a fancy restaurant so that makes it very welcoming to everyone and the ambiance is casual. read more

I recently visited this restaurant for a solo dinner based off a TikTok review I saw, parking was an issue, but I did go in a Saturday so I attribute that being the cause for minimal parking spots. Food was well seasoned. I had the NY Strip Steak (huge steak I thought it was going to be small) which was seasoned to perfection and the sauce that came with it was so good I didn't need to ask for steak sauce, I also tried their Alfredo Pasta, which was creamy and delicious, just could use a tad more cheese (I love cheesy pasta ) it was worth the money and I enjoyed everything. Ambience was lacking a bit, I will definitely return to try other things off the menu, read more

Just wow. Wasn't expecting much since I ordered from UberEats, but Eleazar Steakhouse really delivered. I was craving a steak, and didn't want to dine at a restaurant. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, even after 20-30mins of delivery time. It was cooked exactly the way I liked it and the mashed potatoes and veggies were delicious! Had leftovers and tasted just as good the next day. They have quality meat. Will order again! read more

Wow. Came here with my boyfriend for date night and we were blown away! We got here around 7 on a Friday night, parking is a little rough but not impossible. The servers were all super nice and accommodating. Worth mentioning that Eleazers is also BYOB. We started with the French fry tasting basket which came with sweet potato, waffle and shoestring fries. All of them were delicious, I'd recommend this app for sure. We also got the fried calamari which was good but we were definitely eating with our eyes. I decided on the Harrison burger for my meal and it was perfection. Deliciously charred, stacked high with all the fixin - pickles, tomato and lettuce. So so good. Oh and fried shallots! My boyfriend got steak and a side of Mac and cheese and it truly was delicious. I was reading some other reviews and people raved about it so I knew I had to try. Perfectly cooked elbow macaroni swimming in cheese, super hot right outta the oven. His steak was perfectly cooked too. Really a great addition to the neighborhood. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Came here for a guys night dinner and was pleasantly surprised! Local spot in Harrison with affordable steak prices. Waiter was very attentive from the start and was able to recommend and explain everything on the menu. I opted for the salmon, which was perfectly cooked and came with a delicious garlic butter sauce on the side. Really tasty! For the other 4 guys, well they ordered the Hanger steak, Porterhouse and the Filet Mignon cooked medium rare and was not disappointed. I had the tiramisu for dessert which was so moist and dense I cooked sworn it was made fresh that morning. Can't beat this place and their prices if you're looking for an affordable option for a steakhouse. It was a quiet night so just one other table there and side note the spigot in the bathroom faucet was quite rusty. Not that it ruined the night but was interesting enough to point out! Highly recommend this spot though, two thumbs up from me. read more

I was on a business trip and decided I wanted to have a steak for lunch. I saw that they had a hanger steak on the menu and went in with a co worker on a Saturday. I have had hanger steak before and it is one of the most tender steaks around. I ordered one and as it turned out it was tough and hard to chew not happy at all. I also ordered an iced t I asked for two refills and one for my co worker. When I got the bill they charged me for 5 drinks. I mentioned to the waiter that refills on non alcoholic drinks are always at no cost he said no they always charge for refills. It should have said no refills on the menu but it didn't. I complained about it but they still left it on the bill. I was very upset about it however I paid 26 dollars for two iced teas don't think I'll be seeing this establishment again. Very disappointed about my meal and as far as the drinks are concerned forget about it. read more

Wanted to try this steakhouse for a while to see if the reviews were really true. Came here with my parents, it's byob so no alcohol but they have sparkling water and sodas. The place was empty when we first came, but the place was clean and the server/host was attentive. Now for the food. The reviews are no lie, the quality of the food for the price is spectacular. The steak was amazing and the portions were plenty. My dad had the ribs which were nice and tender. The calamari was fresh as well, I'm not a fan of the chipotle sauce it was served with, if they had tarter I think it would have been perfect. The sides were good too, I wish there was more spinach in the creamed spinach. Meal would have been a 5/5 if it did. It's definitely a hidden gem, and I'll be coming back for sure. read more

Gets an extra star because prices are so reasonable for a steak nowadays. We split a cowboy steak. It was huge and at $38 even included a side. Lots of things are not available on the menu so you have to be flexible and just order what they have. Service wasn't great, but he got the job done. Byob, so bring on the red wines. Parking is a nightmare, so be sure to give yourself time to circle. read more

First time visit to NY/NJ area and needed to take family out for dinner. Chose this place based on high ratings with good food and value in mind. Do not let low-key exterior and lack of patrons fool you, The food here will blow your mind! We ordered calamari and spinach dip appetizers that we couldn't stop eating. The main dishes were chicken alfredo pasta, ribeye steak and cheeseburger. We were constantly commenting how good the food was for the very reasonable prices. Service was also friendly and helpful. The ambiance would not suggest "high end", but the food makes you quickly forget all that. read more

We came into town for a sporting event and were looking for a steakhouse. This one popped up and had solid reviews. Harrison, NJ is a very diverse area.. The service was great, the food was even better. I can't figure out why the restaurant wasn't packed on a Friday night. The area might not be the best, but it didn't seem dangerous. We had the 14oz ribeye and some sides. $32 for a 14oz ribeye in this day and age is unbelievable inexpensive! We might come back today! Bravo!! read more

I was definitely skeptical about ordering from this place. Every time I drive by it just didn't seem like it'll meet my expectations, but I'm here to tell you that the food is amazing. I've been missing out for a while now. I really wanted steak and decided to just go for it and I'm glad I did because my ribeye steak was cooked perfectly. We had the Rib Eye Steak, Chicken Alfredo, Truffle Fries and Tiramisu. Forget every other steakhouse. Forget Peter Lugers. Forget them all. There is only one steakhouse worth getting excited over, and it's this one. Unassuming, no frills ambience, zero attempt at decor, but who cares? The effort has been channeled into the meals. Top notch. I was in a party of 3. We did filet mignon, NY strip and a cowboy with different sides, plus a great green salad (to balance out the guilty pleasure of bloody meat). The server was young and initially gave off an inexperienced vibe, but in fact, he was pretty darn professional on his feet. read more

Elezar never let's me down. The staff is so polite and kind. Being from NYC the prices are good for me. Lower then when ordering from UE or DD. I found this place online through a order app. They always get the steak cooked exactly how I like it even for delivery. I love their onion rings and asparagus as side apps because, balance baby. They have a great sauce that they give you with the onion rings and I put that ish on everything ya hear me?! Lol Great place, mellow ambiance and nice accommodating staff. What more could you truly ask for? Besides their beloved steak ( my favs are the porterhouse, ribeye and cowboy) they have bistro burgers, great fries, great pasta and even salmon for the non meat eaters. A decent menu with not a ton of selections but a good amount yo make the pickiest eaters feel relinquished. I usually roll alone but this is good for small parties and great conversations. Be sure to grab some tiramisu after your meal. You'll be stuffed as a pillow but will be happy about it. read more

Best bang for your buck, I mean talk about value. Quality of food was excellent. This little cozy spot is great for a low key chill restaurant that you can BYOB. I been here twice so far and the second time was just as good as the first, consistency is very important and so far this place hasn't disappoint. I think their ribeye was better than some upscale restaurants I've visited. My wife had the skirt steak and it was absolutely fantastic. Portions were big enough to take home leftovers.
