Walking in feels like stepping into a neighborhood clubhouse -- many older regulars, a warm, laid-back vibe. They serve hot bread first -- crispy outside, soft and fluffy inside -- really enjoyable. We ordered two drinks, solid and not overly sweet, just right. The oysters were okay, not particularly sweet or briny but still fresh enough. We had the pork chop and their signature lobster seafood paella. The pork chop was huge (thanks to the friendly staff for warning us), slightly dry but tasty. The paella rice was rich and flavorful, lobster and scallops were fresh, while the shrimp and mussels were more ordinary. Portion sizes were very generous. I also captured a moment when the staff pulled a live lobster from the tank -- felt very authentic and documentary-like. Overall, it's a place I'd happily revisit -- good value, hearty food, and a nostalgic local vibe. Just be aware of small flies if sitting close to the tank.

The place is fairly spacious. The service was fantastic, our server was very kind and great with recommendations! The food was not amazing but it wasn't bad. We got the calamari which was fairly average, the camarones al ajillo which were good, and the patatas bravas which were very comparable to the ones I had in Madrid so definitely the best out of our meal. For main courses we got the paella and the skirt steak (we wanted the churrasco but they're not selling it anymore due to its high price) - the steak was good and the paella was okay as well, not amazing but not bad. Overall, I think the price for it is a bit much considering that the food isn't as good as other Spanish places I've tried but the service does go a long way.

Great options for the kids and your wallet!

Popped in here on a whim and will definitely be back! The staff was so warm and welcoming, seated us immediately and paid close attention to us. The food was excellent! Definitely try the prime rib- excellent deal! The location is easy to get to with great parking too! Definitely give them a try if you enjoy Spanish cuisine!

I remember when this restaurant was featured on a popular tv show at the time, for help keeping their doors opened. I always assumed it did not survive. I am happy to discover that I was wrong! We went as a party of 3 for lunch. A friend told me she gets monthly deals and it was worth it. She told no lies! I am impressed that their lunch menu is (which is still a full menu) is available until 5pm (including weekends). We shared an appetizer of fried calamari and a pitcher of white sangria for the table. I had the shrimp in garlic sauce, which came with vegetables on the side, and a choice of soup or salad. Calamari - AMAZING!!! It was so fresh and fried to perfection, not over or under done. Not too much breading! Exquisite. No complaints! Chicken noodle soup - the other 2 people in my party said the soup was thin and lacked flavor. I had the house salad, which came with house made balsamic vinaigrette. The waiter told me I'd love it, and he was one hundred percent correct! It was the best part of the salad. And a delightful pre-requisite to the meal. Shrimp in garlic sauce - mildly spicy, it creeps up with each forkful and it's oh so delicious! The garlic flavor is plentiful (which i prefer). The portion is more than adequate for lunch. It came with yellow rice and a side of green beans, carrots, and broccoli. I had ONE piece of broccoli. It was delectable, but the portion was disappointing. More, please! White sangria - I never wanted it to end after every sip! However, $28 for a such a small pitcher is ridiculous. I was told that recently it was much more reasonable in pricing. Overall, a wonderful experience. Great, clean atmosphere. The servers who clear the table can be a little intrusive and rude, they attempted to remove plates while we were still eating and in conversation.

Seafood paella is very good, I will order this again.

The staff is great, you are not going to get a better welcome anywhere. The food is really good and I will be going back in the near future. I have been going there for years and I don't see that changing any time soon.

They a great lunch menu. It includes a soup or salad. Making this place a great find for the price. It's a bit dark inside. But they have a patio in the summer evenings. The server was very kind and refilled our water without us requesting it. The garlic shrimp was very good and a good size portion. My companion said the bacalao was good. I'll take his word for it. The included soup hit the spot on a cool day.

I came here for my birthday dinner with my family. We arrived at 4:35 so we were able to order off the lunch special menu which is available from 11:30-5pm. My waiter was very sweet and patient with my niece. All the staff members were inviting and very friendly. All the entrees came with 2 sides of our choice. We all chose spanish rice and mixed vegetables. Veggies were good, but the rice was a little undercooked. I ordered the breast of chicken madrillenan, which is just chicken with lemon butter sauce. I thought it tasted good but was a bit salty. My family members got the shrimp and garlic entree, and they loved that they got a lot of shrimp. But they also thought that their meal was a little salty. I got the white sangria as my drink, and I enjoyed it. The staff sang happy birthday to me and brought out some flan with a sparkler. I'm not usually a fan of Flan, but I loved theirs. It has this hint of cinnamon and rich caramel that makes a delicious dessert. Overall, I would say it was a good experience. I would come back to try other items on the menu.

Very nice restaurant. You feel like you are at home in Sevilla. Estaba una poquita nerviosa porque hace 30+ años que hablaba español, pero esto fue pa nada porque el camarero era tan simpático y agradable. It was a bit awkward since my husband looks to me for Spanish and my son does a great job for it, but the people there were so wonderfully kind. The tortilla was good, I could do without pimiento and and the shrimp were perfectly seasoned and yummy. The steak sandwich my son ate was like buttah as it melted in your mouth and the burger was so large that it was a challenge to finish it. I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was after hours and next time I hope to have a coffee. I am so happy we stopped here to grab a bite. Listening to Alejandro Fernandez was a wonderful reminder of being in an authentic place. We drove 10 hours and ate here. I would do it again in a heartbeat .

Whether it's a spur of the moment lunch, date night or New Years Eve dinner, Spanish Pavillion doesn't disappoint! Consistently delicious tapas, platters and drinks all served with a smile! We prefer to sit at the bar and socialize with Carlos. He always has the best stories. I laugh til I cry at least once a visit! If you go... tell him I said Hi! Some of the best we've had: Filet Mignon Rib Eye (ask if they have it! It's the best!) Prime Rib 16 oz. The food here is an absolute knockout! We ordered garlic shrimp w/ garlic mashed potatoes & a chicken, pork sausage stew w/ green peppers, onions & yellow rice, & the chicken fingers kids meal that comes with fries. My daughter took up most of our time while we were here (after a missed much needed nap). We loved our food & each entree had the perfect serving allowing us to take our food home. Their dining area was spacious enough for large groups and multiple wheelchairs. They also have a bar that was full of ppl laughing and having a great time. Accessibility: Only giving 4 stars because they have a ramp for wheel chairs located next to the staircase outside of the restaurant, but you'd have to climb a flight of stairs first (pictured). This would almost defeat the purpose for those who would benefit from a ramp. I did not get the opportunity to ask if anyone was ASL speaking, but the gentlemen as a whole showed great patience with my daughter as I announced she was autistic. It was obvious this place was staffed w/ amazing dads! Next time, we won't skip nap time & we'll order takeout because the food was THAT GOOD! - Check in for a special discount!

I ordered the combination combo with head-off shrimp, lobster tail, and snow crab legs. It also came with one piece of corn and a few potatoes for around $40. The restaurant is BYOB, which is a plus. The downside was the service. Our waitress was kind of missing in action throughout the meal, and it was hard to get attention when we needed something. Overall, the food was good enough that I would consider coming back, but probably only for takeout. If you don't mind loud music and so-so service, you may enjoy dining in more than I did.

The seafood boil was enjoyable overall, and the portions were decent for the price. That said, the experience felt a bit inconsistent. Yes, it's hot outside, but when kids are in the restaurant you still have to be considerate because they can easily get sick from it being too cold. Our server, Samantha E, acted like we were bothering her the entire time. Her attitude was off from the start, and anytime we brought up an issue she made it seem like we were the problem for speaking up. One thing that really bothered me was when our food had to be sent back. In any restaurant, if something is wrong and gets remade, customers should receive the full order back. Instead, she told us, "Well since you already took two to try, you only get four wings." That was completely unprofessional. On top of that, Samantha E kept turning around making remarks to her coworkers -- a dark skin girl with glasses and a Spanish girl with curly hair -- and they kept staring over at us while we were explaining our issue. We were not complaining just to complain; we had valid reasons. Overall, the experience made me wish I had just gone to get tacos like I originally planned. Samantha E seriously needs retraining on customer service and professionalism. and the seafood boils had no sauce we had to ask for extra sauce. They made sure we did not get charged but now since we left or since we paid. and in the picture above where you see the computer, they were standing right there, but since we paid they moved.

If you're a party of six skinny people, you'll do just fine in the chairs. If you're fat Americans like us, it's going to be a tight squeeze. They do a really smart thing. The window seats are pushed a bit away from the windows, so that when the waiter comes to take your order, they don't block the middle aisle where people are trying to walk or carry stuff to tables. Brilliant idea, and one which I wish more would do. The chairs are those mid century modern rattan backed chrome bottomed office chair looking guys. They're comfortable enough, even for us fats, but the rattan was starting to wear out. Hopefully, they'll see to getting them serviced, because it makes the place look a bit ragged. The tables were a lovely size, with plenty of space for our drinks, our food, and the beautiful bespoke charger plates they had on the table with Sihana branding on it. They kept the TVs and other built in furniture from the old Kinjo that used to be here. When we went, the stuff on the TVs was pretty generic. This is fine. Not a lot of places know what to do with those TVs. Back when the location used to be KInjo, they played either K-dramas, Anime, or other such themed shows on there with subtitles, so that it keeps the place on theme. This is NOT an allergy friendly place. If you're vegan, you're going to get either the cocktails, or a dry salad. Also, there's cocktails that have honey, so watch out for that as well. The falafel sandwich, which should be vegan anywhere else you get it, has egg in it. Not ON it, but IN it. The fries are all cooked in shared oil. How shared is the oil? One of our table mates got a mild allergic reaction (she has a shellfish allergy), and had to grab a Benadryl when she got home. It wasn't bad enough for her eyes to close up and have to go to the hospital, but her face was getting flushed, and she started getting really itchy. I'm sure the food was fine. I've been with this group dining out several times. If they're seriously enjoying themselves, they'll usually be raving about what's on their plate, and let the waiter know how good it all was. That didn't happen here. Everyone LOVED the appetisers. That cheesy bread situation was a huge hit. The cocktails are strong, and beautifully made. Well balanced with the right blend of sweetness, tartness, and slight burn of alcohol. Absolutely no complaints there. When the bill came, there's a credit card processing fee. I'd say the place is good. Here's why they're getting full marks: The waiter let us know IMMEDIATELY that there will be nothing for me to eat. He didn't have to go to the kitchen to ask what was safe. He knew immediately that there's nothing at all on the menu that's safe for me. That level of knowledge tells me that you've got a waiter who takes pride in knowing his job, and does it to the best of his ability. You've got an absolute gem of a wait staff in general. I wasn't bothered, because I live very close by and can eat at home. Just know that I'll never set foot in there again. I'm not sure that anyone else would be too eager to go back either. I've been to steak houses that had more option.

One had different types of fish and shellfish; the majority of shellfish didn't open properly (barely a crack), and the fish had an odd taste. The server said it was skate and it had a "special" taste. Anyway, my in-laws didn't care for the whole dish, and it cost about $50. They've lived in the Ironbound 60ish years and know good mariscada from bad. Bacalhau, salmon, steak, octopus, and cockles all were delicious. Then we ordered dessert - one of which was espresso crème brûlée. When we asked the server why it didn't have the traditional burnt sugar top, he said they don't do it that way. (Then don't call it crème brûlée! Call it pudding or something else.) Such attitude. And beware - they add the tip *after* adding in NJ sales tax. We can get good food at many other Newark restaurants. Even though most of the food was great, we left with a bad taste in our mouths (pun intended) and probably won't return.

Something that is a rarity in 2026! The first thing you are offered is soup. Along with fresh baked bread. My favorite dish is the shrimp in garlic (camarones al ajillo), simple but delicious. Served with yellow rice & spanish potatoes. Dont forget to dip the bread in the garlicky sauce! Finish your meal with an espresso & a flan catalan (if you have room). I have enjoyed many, many meals at Casa Vasca & have always been treated like a member of the family. Never a rude server. A+ service. Casa Vasca is not just a restaurant, for some of us who grew up in the area, its home! And you know what they say, "theres no place like home"!

We came in with a group of six and ordered paella to share together. Everything was fine in the beginning, and they even served soup and bread to us. Then our group was quite surprised when we looked at the bill and found out we were charged $20 for the soup. I mean it would be totally fine if they didn't serve us the soup. But they didn't notify us about the charge for the soup and gave us the option to opt-out. Basically, they imposed an extra order of the soup on us without our permission. Then when we split the bill among our group, the staff gave us a nasty attitude with rolling eyes. I mean. How our group handled the bill and split the payments among our members is none of your fucking business. Save your money and avoid this at all costs. Don't even want to call them a restaurant since they are not even qualified to be one. There are so many better places with much friendlier services in the area.
