I've been to this bar 3 times. Once when it just opened and twice within the last month or so. The last two times were not good experiences. Most recently was last night and that was my last straw. The music was incredibly and unnecessarily loud which they knew because they told us they'd turn it down before we got the chance to ask. Next, there was one waitress on the floor, clearly overwhelmed. Told us she would be back with water but came back almost 20 mins later. We ordered our wine when she came back because who knows how long it would take to receive it. Another 20 mins, maybe more. We watched her seat several groups and I literally had to scream across the room to get her attention and to remind her of the bottle we ordered, which she had the nerve to appear annoyed about. We asked her if we could move from our tables to a nearby couch which she said yes. Before we had a the chance to finish the bottle the GM comes over and tells us to move our seats and that he would take care of us (NEVER DID NOR DID HE CHECK IN). This is the same GM who asked me to give the place another try after the last issues we encountered where they screwed up our checks due their own carelessness. I should've raised more of an issue and questioned him more. But nevertheless we move to these two musty smelling seats. At that point we left and decided that would be the absolute last time. Came here on a Friday night for an event hosted by 4 lovers only and it was their R&b night. The event started at 7pm and my sister and I decided to show up early before it got too packed because we wanted to enjoy the vibes before the crowd. For this particular event it was ticketed at $30 and in order to be seated we had to purchase a bottle of wine. Luckily it wasn't too pricey and since we got there early we were able to get a seat still and order a bottle of wine for $58.10 with gratuity included. The service was excellent and they would come check in on us. We were able to close our tab with no issues when we were ready to leave. As for the R&b night it was a nice vibe. Definitely perfect for a girls night out as well as a date night. If you are single and looking to mingle I'm not sure this event is it. There was definitely more women there than men and most of the men there seemed to be with someone. Overall consigliere is a cute and cozy spot. My sister and I agreed that we both would come back for more of a low key vibe when we want to grab some wine or a mocktail and when there is a non ticketed event. I think we are at the point where we like more low-key things and when things are not overly crowded. read more

I was in town & a friend brought me here. Security checks your reservation & i.d. at the door. This is the perfect date night, gurls nite, or even a night out with the guys spot. Keep in mind that it's a very intimate setting with first come first served seating & a few reserved spots. Very vibey, the music was on point, & the drinks were good. There's even a pool table & t.v. that had the game on. I'd say this is for the late 20s to 30s crowd. Lots of eye candy, including the staff. read more

Stopped here for a First Friday event. I had to Rsvp for us to attend at least a week in advance. I was able park right around the corner on Washington Street since there's no parking in front of the venue. We were seated at the bar. This venue is beautiful with an eclectic, old school, upscale bohemian vibe. The dj was rocking all night. I ordered the Cosmo x Wanda and it was delicious. After a while the menu changed but I didn't ordered anything else. My only complaint is their light bites menu.... it is truly just cheese and crackers. What truly sets this spot apart is the ambiance-they've got a live DJ spinning(Thurs/Fri) Drink: Im Pitterberg Riesling Kabinett '21 - Nahe, Germany, and it was just right-light, crisp, and had a subtle greeny freshness. Beautiful lounge right in downtown Newark! Fantastic bartenders, friendly service and great music! I went two different times, one for an evening event and one in early evening. One of the better boulvardiers I've had which was exciting. The first time I went I had that beautiful moment when a knight in shining armor (bartender) saves you from having to fight the crowds at the bar and takes your order right there in the middle of the crowd. Was surprised to see such an elevated lounge in a college area. Would go again! read more

The bartenders is what makes this place so great. They really know how to make drinks to perfection. A low lit wine bar that has great music and great service. Updating my review because it seems like since my original visit they listened to some of my critiques and are working to make improvements...kudos to the owners for doing that! Came back with a friend who wanted me to give it another chance in spite of my critiques. This time I see the wine list has been improved (and there is a Black owned vineyard in the mix too - Brown Estate). Had an excellent and personable bartender that knew a lot about tending bar, however I cannot speak to the bartender's wine knowledge since this time I opted for cocktails. Best of all they got better quality wine glasses! I saw some of the cheap ones, but the bartender was avoiding using those. Hopefully the improvements keep coming! read more
