Wow- from Utah to see a FIFA match and discovered this amazing Portuguese seafood restaurant that has Screens with FIFA match's and best food ever! Love this place! A local gem ! Great service from Rodrigo!

Every once in a while, I wind up in Ironbound because I'm a glutton for both tasty Portuguese pastries and brusque Portuguese service (their abuse reminds me of my people). On one such occasion, I found myself dining on enormous portions of seafood at Seabra. The service was just as terse as I remembered, but I didn't care because each of their dishes were big enough to feed three people on a single person's cost. We started with complimentary sardine croquettes that were bigger than my hands. And tasty as all heck. Then we got the Salada de Polvo, which seems pricey at $27.95--until it arrives and you realize they've probably put ten octopi in there. And talk about perfectly cooked! If they'd been any chewier, they would've come straight from the sea. Our only miss was the Gambas Mozambique, which--while large and flavorful--was more oily than I would've liked. However, the enormous Espaguete com Vongole e Camarao that basically came in a cauldron more than made up for it. And yup, the service was just as curt as I expected. I don't think we even got a thank you. I'm convinced that if they remade The Sopranos, Tony would 100% take his goomah to a place like this.

3.5* star. This was my second time at Marisqueira, the first being about 9 years ago for my best bud's 30th - no real frills, atmosphere is pretty low key and casual, but we were treated to some delicious Portuguese food. I found myself back in Newark last Sunday for a concert at the Prudential Center meeting up with 4 other friends and we all decided to make our return visit. The service was fairly attentive and we were offered some fresh bread early on. For drinks, we settled on sharing a bottle of white wine and a pitcher of red sangria for the table. For food, some of us were non-fish eaters, so we decided to go our separate ways lol. 3 of us (myself included) shared the: Paelha ã Valenciana: raditional seafood combination of lobster, clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops with chicken, pork and Portuguese sausage, served in yellow rice. ($45.75) - large portion and with a good amount of meat and seafood, great flavor. Hearty, filling, and the yellow rice is deeeelish. Parrilhada de Mariscos Para 2 Pessoas: seafood platter for two ($79.95) - a very nice assortment of fish, including their cod, clams, mussels, baked clams, and lobster. I would have normally given this food and service a 4 star review easily, but I have to be honest and admit that, after we were done eating, we did spot a roach that had briefly crawled on our table and on to a vacant chair, which I had then pushed away. When the waiter came around, we let him know, and he was apologetic and offered us a round of drinks to make up for the scare - which we appreciated. I...want to say it's a somewhat common occurrence in the area, so I mean, not earth-shattering...but, yeah, not exactly the pleasant parting note I had preferred. Regardless, I do think that if I found myself back in the area, and was hankering for some good and hearty Portuguese food, I'd likely consider coming back to Marisqueira.

The food was great! The set was great! The decor was great! We went for a light lunch before dropping friends off at the airport. This did not disappoint! Free parking was a plus!

Walked in and felt like I time-traveled to an old-school Portuguese tavern -- blue-and-white tiles, vintage bar, super nostalgic vibes. The bread was amazing: soft and slightly crispy outside. The sausage wasn't juicy but super meaty and chewy -- salty AF, I kept reaching for water. The octopus salad was too mushy for me, not the bouncy type -- skip if you love a firm texture. The "acorda de marisco" (seafood bread mash) was the most interesting: super flavorful at first, but got heavy and salty fast. I felt SO thirsty after -- likely lots of salt and MSG, so if you prefer light flavors, beware! The white wine sangria? Recommend. Light, refreshing, balances everything else.

We came here for lunch/early dinner after an event at Prudential. They have free parking - just make sure to get it validated at the restaurant. We ordered two different paellas because my daughter wanted octopus in hers. We got a pitcher of sangria & it was very strong - which was amazing after sitting through Disney on Ice. For dessert, the kids got lemon sorbets and I got the copa mascarpona. My husband got the molotoff merengue. The desserts were a little too sweet but overall yum! Really delicious and authentic food - highly recommend!

We came here after checking out the cherry blossoms in Branch Brook Park. i heard there was a large Portugese community In Ironbound and i was excited to try a seafood place. Amazingly fresh and tasty seafood for reasonable pricing...Was enough to take home for 2 extra meals lolz...Great service also.

Authentic Portuguese cuisine. Octopus, mussels, apps and a Portuguese version of a seafood paella platter had us stuffed. Good service and cozy classic restaurant. BIGGEST DOWNSIDE: NO BREAKDOWN ON THE BILL !!! That's a Huge Nooooooo! I hate places that do this. I was in a rush to see a show at the center and could not really dispute it, but I definitely felt like I overpaid. Times are tough now with pricing, and it is seafood, but the quick math in my head makes me feel like they got one over. For your customers satisfaction and assurance find a way to print out a breakdown of the BILL. It's 2024. Thank you

Paella Paelha A Valenciana & scallop/shrimp in garlic sauce

We went on a Monday night. We had some relatives visiting from overseas. Wanted to show them the Ironbound. Got street parking on the block. We ordered an amazing house salad, stuffed mushroom, Scallops & Prawns in Garlic sauce. Paella Valenciana had everything - seafood and meat. Mascarpone dessert with chocolate was really good. We ordered enough food for 6 or 7 people portion-wise, but were only 3 of us. Food was good, but bill including sangria and scotch came out to $220 for 3 of us - would have been half of that before. So for that price in Newark, should have been unforgettable. Also weirdly, there was 1/2 lobster left at the end of dinner. I thought I'd have it for dinner the next day. But they didn't put it in the box. That was weird. The staff was very nice, and they let us hang out as long as we wanted. Didn't rush us.

Last weekend suddenly want to eat Portuguese food, on Reddit search Americans are pushing this treasure restaurant, into the restaurant a sit down was shocked, worthy of the United States Internet users to push the store, do not know why such a great shop little red book no article but their meals are very grandious super large! It's a good movie, too The price is also very approachable, with an average of 20-50 dollars, who would believe that you can eat a whole lobster stew for more than 40 dollars around New York City. Because they all looked so good and we ordered three courses for the four of us, and we gave up after eating less than half of them Figure 1) Lobster soup + rice $50, soup base is tomato seafood soup, which contains lobster, crab, shrimp, all kinds of shellfish, bread to eat a great Lobster stew $46, which also has a variety of shellfish and whole lobster, stew rice is also delicious Chicken seafood potatoes $24, this dish is mainly chicken, I think it is a bit oily but the taste is also OK, sour and salty, potatoes are very delicious For an extra $1, you can buy a fried dumpling that tastes like chicken curry inside Anyway, I think this place is easy to order, easy to eat, suitable for a large party size is about 2-3 people a plate

Fresh catch of the day presented!

Authentic Portuguese food at its finest! Prepared with the best ingredients specializing in seafood. I have been being coming here with my family since I was a kid! Amazing service! Daily specials! That will remind you of your vacations in Portugal! Service is impeccable! Extensive wine list! I enjoy the white sangria! Make reservations! Parking lot and deck available- remember to get your parking ticket validated. Gratuity was added for our party of 6. Highly Recommend!!!

This is my second time eating here. Both times we've eaten in the bar area as we prefer this livelier environment. We also met Jerry who is an amazing server. Both times I've been here has been with big groups and he never disappoints. He's a jokester and it makes the night more memorable. The food is amazing no matter what we get. As your sitting there and watch others food come out, you start to drool. This time I had a watercress salad (ask for light on vinegar, they have a tendency to be heavy), our table shared escargot, and then we also shared several servings of "mixed meat kebabs" (espetadas mistas de carne). My friend had the soup of the day and said it was amazing. Fair warning one food servings here are normally pretty big. You must also try their French fries, they are cut like fresh chips- so delicious! We finished off with a few desserts which we also shared bc why limit yourself to just one flavor of goodness . Flan pudding ( pudim flan) , sweet rice pudding (arroz doce) Sawdust pudding (serradura) And finally the most Portuguese thing ever... espressos!

I always have a sweet tooth and wanted to give this spot a try. When I arrived I had to double park…read morebecause parking is terrible in this area. I walked in and was greeted. The spot was super cute. I asked the lady a couple of questions about the desserts and the one I went with is the lime pie. It came to a little under $7 for a small slice. It's a tad pricey at this location. I paid and left. When I got home I tasted and it was a tasty pie. It was the right amount of flavor throughout. I had a pretty decent experience.

Nope.....! We saw…read moretheir Luxury Truffle Collection offered on QVC. The truffles presented there were presented as large enough to be cut in half and shared for 2. The hosts Ooooed and Awwwed over the size of them & the unique flavors and when we would normally never pay 5$ a piece for chocolate, we thought they looked like a deal given the "size" and unique flavors. [12 pieces for $59.95] What was delivered was a joke! The total weight of the chocolates was approximately 8 ounces. That made them $120 a pound. They were simply packed loosely in a shipping box, so the box of truffles was shook and shaken all the way to our house and they looked terrible by the time they arrived. So an F for shipping. And the size, well as you can see they were nowhere as large as what was presented, as some were not even large enough to fill the space allowed in their packaging! For the most part they were smaller than a Lindor truffle. So another F for actual portion size in relation to what as presented on QVC. Finally the taste.... There was none. We tries 3, and they had NO real taste. I described them as eating Play Dough...just a weird putty texture. And the killer is 2 of the 3 we tried were hollow and you could see the seam where they constructed them. Yes...a BIG FAT "F" for taste!! We tried to return them and QVC didnt even want them back... So we put them where they belonged...in the TRASH. I welcome the owners of this establishment to prove to us what they offer is actually worth $120 a pound....
