Churrascada Mista na Telha com Arroz de Feijao

Another great visit, came for Valentine's day and it was booming. Was sat on the second floor with a bunch of other date. Was a busy evening but service was top notch. They were on top of things and the wait wasn't incredibly long, thankfully. The decor is beautiful and would recommend for anyone in h the area looking for a date night spot. On pricier side but good quality is worth it. They did add an automatic gratuity.

Lamb chops

Amazing lamb chops here. Perfect place to kick it for a quality meal during the busy / casual lunch hour. I was stuck between the lamb and skirt steak. They assured me this would be the best chops i ever had. He was not lying. With the mint jelly to top it off. AMAZING! Can't wait to be back.

I'd highly recommend this restaurant. Despite going on one of the busiest holidays for restaurants they performed to a high standard. Although when you walk towards a restaurant, you're unsure of what could be inside but once you're inside, you're amazed by the modern decor, cleanliness and immaculate food that walks by you. The customer service was top-tier! I have to give High regards to Gabriel who served as our waiter for the evening. Every staff member was attentive to us while we dining there. Also keeping in mind we had a concert to attend in the nearby area. The food was served, hot and ready while being very tasty. I would definitely come back to this restaurant even on one of the busiest days of the year. They serve large corners! So prepare for leftovers.

Sangria

Modern and elegant Portuguese Restaurant in Newark. Dined here with some friends the other night. For drinks we had a pitcher of house made sangria. Quite good. For my appetizer, I had the Chourico Portugues Assado (Portuguese sausage flambe at tableside). Very tasty. For my main I had the Paelha Valenciana (A pan of slowly cooked paella valenciana, saffron rice and select seasonings of lobster, shrimp, calms, scallops, New Zealand mussels, chicken, Portuguese sausage and cubes of pork). A huge portion. And delicious. No room for dessert. Service was attentive without being intrusive and the restrooms were clean. We will return.

The food was not great to me, we ordered calamari which wasn't fresh, too dry and rubbery because it was frozen and not fresh, the octopus was a bit dry also, seabass wasn't fresh either, my husband ordered the lamb chops which was the only good thing on our order

Restaurant is beautiful inside. Could be for casual friends or a nice romantic dinner. Wish the rooftop was open. Service was top notch. We started with escargot which were large and delicious. Also had the garlic shrimp and chorizo. Both were equally tasty. I ordered the grilled octopus with eggplant and shrimp. It was phenomenal. Others ordered the steak and raved that it was perfect. Stuffed sole was fresh and had a wonderful flavor. Desserts were yummy!! Drinks were great!! Will definitely return!! For those looking for a cheap restaurant... this is not the place for you.

Wasn't the biggest fan of the food here. The clams I ordered were so salty is was practically inedible. Skirt steak was extremely chewy. My cod fish arrived at the table on a terracotta tile over an open flame sterno can. Looked cool, but unfortunately it was overcooked. The only things I liked were the sangria, dessert and bread. Most of the restaurants in the ironbound area of Newark all seem plagued serving the exact same quality of food. Like others have mentioned, prices are completely over the top for the quality of food you're getting. Service was amazing, and the space inside was actual very nice! It has a elegant casual atmosphere. Would come back to the bar but won't be ordering any food.

The food - absolutely delicious. The Sangria - so good - not too heavy and not too sweet. The staff - so sweet and so hospitable, especially with a request I made for my infant. Would I go back ? Maybe - if the portions were a little bigger, and/or sides were included in all menu items.

Good upscale restaurant perfect for special occasions!! There is a lot of seating and when we were there we didn't need to make a reservation. The food was pretty good but took a bit of time to come out, but the paella is a MUST TRY!!!

Really 3 1/2 vs 3....worth a visit when in the area, this spot is putting some good dishes on the table. Appetizers are fine but the entrees are the standouts. Cowboy rib-eye, while lacking aged flavor, more than makes up for it with well executed preparation.

My best restaurant experience thus far! My family and I celebrated our son's birthday at Adega and what an incredible experience it was! Service: Top notch Food: Delicious Decor: Super elegant Ambiance: incredible Let me start with the service! Adega offered us top notch service! All of our severs (yup! SERVERS, we had more than one server attend to us) were incredibly polite, answered all of our questions and were overly attentive to our needs! A little gratitude goes a long way, I always say! Special thanks to: Hugo, Aldo, Tyler and Marco! You were all incredibly professional and polite! Your service was outstanding! Thank YOU all! Onto the food, we ordered, everything was delicious: Appetizers: Camarão á Guilho Chorizo Espanhol Ameijoas Casino Main: Pelha Marinheira or Valenciana Salmao Recheado Filet Mignon Marsala Piletes de Bronzini com Linguini, Camarao, Berbigao Bolhao Pato Dessert: Carrot Cake Coppa Strawberries and Caramel Creme Brulee Chocolate Soufflé Upon arrival, we were courteously greeted by the hostess, who politely escorted us to our table. I was overly impressed with how clean and beautiful this establishment is! Super elegant! The ambiance is to die for as well! Very mellow and classy at the same time! I truly and highly recommend Adega Grill to all my yelpers! I will be returning for more of a romantic date with my wife that's for sure! And will most definitely return on a more regular basis with my family! Thank you Adega for such a memorable experience! I will see you again!

Good food and atmosphere Nice location in newark Pricey but nice experience with friends/co workers

Surprised by the decoration very heavy and very " cliché " Portugal is today a modern country with good taste: here the colors are so dark and plastic grapes everywhere make the ambiance very depressing. Prices are completely exaggerated for what the place is. The food is lack luster, doesn't have much taste and doesn't justify the high price. It's Newark, yet it's more expensive than a lot of classy New York restaurants. The service and customer service are nonexistent. Really a bad experience, the worst I have had in a long long time. We didn't get asked if the food was okay, if we wanted anything else, etc. Took over 15 minutes to come even ask if we wanted our check or desert or anything. Honestly disappointing and will never be back. Even if I was given a free dinner here I would pass.

First time here. Disappointed that the lobster was mushy. Claw meat had pretty much dissolved…read morecompletely. Towards the end of our meal the less than friendly waiter asked how our food was. When I told him, he just walked away! Was not sending back or trying to get a discount, just thought that since they asked, they wanted to know. Guess not. PS. There are only 2 reasons that the meat had a mushy consistency 1) lobster was dead before being cooked or 2) overcooked Too bad because the rest of our food was delicious. Would not recommend this spot

Every once in a while, I wind up in Ironbound because I'm a glutton for both tasty Portuguese…read morepastries and brusque Portuguese service (their abuse reminds me of my people). On one such occasion, I found myself dining on enormous portions of seafood at Seabra. The service was just as terse as I remembered, but I didn't care because each of their dishes were big enough to feed three people on a single person's cost. We started with complimentary sardine croquettes that were bigger than my hands. And tasty as all heck. Then we got the Salada de Polvo, which seems pricey at $27.95--until it arrives and you realize they've probably put ten octopi in there. And talk about perfectly cooked! If they'd been any chewier, they would've come straight from the sea. Our only miss was the Gambas Mozambique, which--while large and flavorful--was more oily than I would've liked. However, the enormous Espaguete com Vongole e Camarao that basically came in a cauldron more than made up for it. And yup, the service was just as curt as I expected. I don't think we even got a thank you. I'm convinced that if they remade The Sopranos, Tony would 100% take his goomah to a place like this.

Excellent food and service! There are a lot of complementary foods, like garlic bread, olives,…read moresalad, and chocolate dipped churros.

You know, I've never been at a restaurant that simply seems to "throw" food at their guests. I…read moremean, a LOT of food. Damn. Ok - almost too good to be true, right? Well, let's get started: We sat down. Water and menus came, a drink order was put in, and before we knew it, bread, olives, and a salad (all unordered, all appreciated) appeared. The bread was warm (as God intended) and the salad nicely done up, already with an Italian dressing. The olives were spicy and yummy! Ok - not ordered, but I wasn't going to argue! We ordered a seafood paella - holy moly! It was like a 14" in diameter deep dish when it came out! Tasty, lots of mussels, shrimps, scallops, even a bit of lobster..... wow. I ordered chicken picatta - expecting thin strips of chicken in a nice sauce on top of pasta....damn. I got two flat, pressed chicken breasts on pasta. Can anyone say too big by half??? Wow. Couldn't finish it. And here's where the "food being thrown to us" came in- we got a side of green beans AND a side of seasoned rice AND a side of homemade potato chips (that needed salt but still). Damn. After declining dessert, they STILL brought us 6 little churros with a dark chocolate dipping sauce. WOW. Call me totally amazed. The pricing wasn't outrageous, and the food was absolutely BOUNTIFUL and yummy! The ambiance was amazing- old school in a classy way. And the service was absolutely ON POINT. Can't speak highly enough of this place! Nicely located in Ironbound and close to Newark Penn - will I come again? Yes. But I'll need room at the hotel for the leftovers! Yummy.
