Super friendly staff, excellent food. I loved the Brazilian spin on spaghetti with broccoli and fresh grated cheese. The garlic sauce that was tossed with the perfectly al dente pasta was amazing. It was complemented by salad with hearts of palm and finely chopped tomato, onion, and lettuce. For dressing, there are vinegar/olive oil bottles on the table like an old school Italian restaurant. My friend had an assortment of meats that came with a yucca condiment, rice and black bean, yucca fries and tiny fried plantains. One special thing to note is that the staff brought our desserts out and sang a rousing Happy Birthday for my friend, who was delighted. A rich passion fruit mousse and tres leches rounded out the meal. Our waiter Farid was class all the way, and made it a special meal. He mentioned that they have a buffet on weekends, and there are many more delicious dishes on the menu. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in exploring the South American cuisine of the Ironbound section of Newark. read more

Came here to celebrate a birthday dinner but had a mixed review amongst the group. Restaurant took a very long time to take our orders. The food was great, fresh and definitely enjoyed the sangria. I'm just not sure if it's worth what they charge in terms of prices. Someone from the group ordered a cappuccino and unfortunately there was a fly in the drink. Staff were not apologetic, they brushed it off and seemed like there wasn't much care to the situation. read more

Place looked nice overall, one of our friends ordered the rodizio and they took forever to even bring her out meat and chicken. We came here specifically to celebrate her birthday, I'd say food was mid. I ordered a cappuccino and found a fly in it :( I immediately reported it and didn't even manage to take a pic cause i was over how hot it was, our seating location, and slow service. read more

It looks like I am not the only one with the same experience for the Brazil vs Morocco game. I had VIP tickets and they did not honor them and let me in. This event was poorly handled. I requested a refund online already, we'll see if they handle that correctly, but it doesn't change that I had a ticket to attend this event and it should be easy to get in, hence the reason I purchased tickets. read more

We came to celebrate my child's 23rd birthday. The place has a nice ambiance, and we've always enjoyed coming here for dinner. However, I'm not sure the manager is aware of how the business is currently being run. We were charged a 20% automatic tip for a party of only five people, and on top of that, each bottle of regular water was priced at four dollars. What should have been a nice evening was overshadowed by excessive charges and an automatic gratuity for service that was below average. I was also surprised to see water priced at four dollars when most places charge no more than two. Because of this experience, we will start going to other restaurants that offer better service and more reasonable prices. read more

This restaurant has amazing food and beautiful ambience. And I have been coming here for over a decade. But something has seem to change with this restaurant. The service has went from absolutely wonderful, too mediocre at best. Also, the prices have become exuberant. There's absolutely no excuse that a dinner for two should cost over $220.00 at this place. When once not too long ago (and I am talking less than a year ago) for the same drinks and dinner dishes would set you back about $125.00 including tip. I say this wholeheartedly, this place was my go to restaurant for every single occasion for my family and l, but after visiting this establishment multiple times in the last few months, I have decided that it is time to let go of this restaurant and move on. I no longer see the value both in service and cost that justify me coming back here and spending my hard earned money. I wish this establishment all the best and only asked management to reevaluate its current operating conditions. Because I truly believe they are going to lose the vital Customer base that has solidified their business for years. So for the person thinking about visiting this restaurant, do with this information as you please. read more

Very nice and clean restaurant. Food was not bad at all, but service not as good as you'd expect at that price point. Drink orders took extremely long, (even a bottle of water took over 15 minutes). Be aware 22% tip is automatically added to bill, plus a 3.8% surcharge for credit card payments. read more

OK, maybe 3.5? Excellent waiter. Slow Chef. The 2 women liked their fish dishes which were plentiful. One guy loved this one seafood combination he's loved for years. The birthday boy's Skirt steak was ok. My steak was possibly the WORST i've ever ordered. Tough to cut and impossible to chew (i took it home to try and tenderize). Quite ANNOYED the waiter suggested it may have been better if i ordered it cooked a different way!!?? I'm 73yo and have ordered 100's of steaks and ordered mine Charred outside/Medium middle (which actually has a name "Pittsburgh" or "Black and Blue") - and NO way of cooking can save a chewy piece of meat!! Last 2 pet peeves. In person pricing at least 50% more than online menu...which could be laziness to update or outright deception. Also, they CALCULATE THE TIP FOR YOU...BUT THEY USE 20% AFTERRRRRR SALESTAX (and some other fee). I DON'T TIP ON SALES TAX!! The person who paid didnt argue. read more

Went there super late night for Rodizio which was my first and only mistake. At my age consuming large quantities of anything, let alone red meat can have dire consequences. Luckily I survived. Food, decor and service were all above par. Meat was flavorful, delicious and served in quantities that were almost overwhelming. 45 minutes late I tapped out, full content and smiling. Worth noting is that they have plenty of outdoor seating and a private adjacent parking lot which is always a welcome bonus in the Ironbound. All in all this is a solid choice sure to please the most particular or carnivores. Kudos. read more

I live in the neighborhood of this restaurant and said for the past 3 years I was going to try it. I finally did on a Saturday for an early dinner 3 weeks ago. I was not disappointed. The sangria was good, the service was attentive and the food was delicious. Our server was helpful and I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. The music selection was diverse and pleasant. I will be back. Especially to see my girl Elida!! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! The staff is a mess, for example, my plate had a steak and they did not provide me with a cutting knife until I had to ask repeatedly for it. On top of the waiting, which is ridiculously long. Ordered an appetizer and it never came. A table of 2 and we only ordered 2 plates was over $120!!!! Mind you, no drinks!!! They hide fees with the gratuity and credit card charge. A horrible experience! And that's coming from an actual Brazilian who is used to the culture. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Love the atmosphere for Brazilian BBQ, a bit more homey and a bit less formal than some of their competitors. Service was painfully slow though, I will admit we were here with a big group who sort of trickled in over an hour, but we actually didn't get served our food for a full two hours after arrival. And while I generally enjoy the variety of all you can eat Brazilian BBQ (especially chicken hearts, which were delicious), the food in general all seemed a bit on the salty side. Picanha was good quality and massive slices, chicken, sausage, and at least three other cuts of beef... nom, aside from being a bit too salty. read more

The food and atmosphere here is nice. I sat at the bar with some friends to watch the world cup games and had lunch. It's cold when the door opens so bundle up. The service staff is really sweet but our server didnt seem to know the menu and had to look at what we ordered by the menu number. I got empanadas appetizers that said 6 count on the menu but I only got 5. The sirlion steak and eggs said it comes in a sauce but it was more of a soup. The dessert was probably the best thing I had. read more

They got a liquor license so now they got more expensive. What I use to pay $80 bucks for we pay $120 now with 2 little extra pieces of meet. Not including liquor. Last time I was there I felt like something was missing. I know liquor licenses are NOT cheep but I don't feel like paying for it myself. I enjoy BYOB. Better wine and much cheaper prices. I think you should try it yourself and not go by my rating. But I'm not going back, it lost what attracted me which was good prices, great food and BYOB. Another thing that bothers me is the tip on the bill. I understand when a certain culture doesn't tip so you add it on there to make sure the waiters make a living. But, the tip to me was always to show the waiter I appreciated the great service and not just because I had no choice. So, I'm on the search for a new place with less traffic, lol. Another reason it's not worth the trip. Newark is to congested for an expensive BBQ ride. read more

This used to be a good place... However if you're looking for Brazilian BBQ you need to go somewhere else... What makes Brazilian BBQ great is the sea salt, however in this place you'll find that you'll need to constantly add cheap table salt to your meats, which defeats the purpose of going to a Brazilian steak house, you can go to Morton's or even Outback for the same meat flavor. Then when your check arrives there is a big surprise, if you want to pay by card they'll add a 3-4% charge to your bill. But they don't tell you that ahead of time So unless you're walking around w $200 cash in your pocket (which no one these days do that) you'll get stuck w that extra charge... This practice is actually illegal in Brazil and no one does it in America! Yet they do it!! Nevertheless Brazilians are not known for being business savvy and this proves it read more

Decor gives you a home feel. The mini bridge over green-lit fish pond is a fancy extra touch. I imagine the staff has or will be issuing their company calendar as they all look like models- everyone is vibrant and gives this place that seems to have been around for some time a modern hip vibe. Do not eat hours before coming here. Esp if you get an entree that includes the salad bar. The portions are generous and I don't wanna speak too much on it so no one gets any funny ideas and changes things. Every dish I've had is great (see pics). I've been and I'll go again read more

Good for groups. We had a party of 30 the venue is large and very accommodating. Staff were very friendly and so much food was served. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE... I don't know how to start this review but I have never been so disappointed at a Brazilian barbecue before... I am not sure if it was the day I went or if it was something else but honestly if I could give this place zero stars I would! I was here for close to three hours and in that time I've had four waiters which is not including the gauchos that came with the meat. The best part about the place was probably the rice and beans which is not saying anything at all for an all you can eat meat place. In the time I was there I was served five meats which is not typical of any other Brazilian barbecue that I have been to. Usually there would be people coming back-and-forth with different styles of meat. But not here in the three hours we were able to get five pieces of meat from which two of the pieces were almost raw. In the time I was there there were also four different solicitors that came through every table trying to sell fake purses make up and all sorts of things. Even after getting the check we had to wait about 30 minutes for a waiter to come take our check and charge us. The waiters were chilling with people they knew some of the waiters were sitting down at random tables and eating. I even saw a few people just drinking beer on the corner. We ended up spending about $150 for something that in my opinion wasn't even worth $50. Needless to say but I will not be going to this place again. read more

Horrible service and horrible food. I went there with a party of 16... it was our Christmas party! First of all they don't have any cocktails.. just 2 .. sangria and a house drink that tasted like pure sugar. They have beer and wine but that's it! Some ordered the all you can eat but they only came around with 5 skewers of meat. It's better to order off the menu. One person didn't get her meal with the rest of us...2 hours later her food finally came out after complaining!! The salad bar looked like it sat there for hours just not appetizing! I will never go back there again.. read more

First visit: All food was good; rack of lamb was cooked PERFECTLY, and as requested by me (uncut/whole). Dad got Rodizio and the guys with the meats came 3x. We fed my dad of our plates. Did mot make a big deal of it Second visit: Went back because rack of lamb was amazing. Went in and met with an unnecessary attitude from the manager because i had a stainless steel cup with water. Rather than kindly telling me to dump it, he was very rude. I asked for rack of lamb medium and to remain whole/uncut. It was cut in half (fine), but undercooked. Then they brought it back to cook it medium, and half was medium (kinda) and half was well (inedible). Made this known to server (he was very cool) but no concession offered. Made visit one known to server about my dad to preemptively prepare them essentially that we were ripped off visit 1. Wont be going back for a while. A lot of potential, but not worth it. read more

My brazillian coworker gave me the heads up about this place, which is in the ironbound. Very cool spot with an authentic feel to it, the interior is nice and welcoming. Only issue i had was that its not well insulated so it can get pretty cold unless you are near a heater. Everytime i go i get the all you can eat meal. Basically, you get access to their salad bar, which has an assortment of nice veggies and then they bring out a huge variety of meats one at a time. They literally being on the spit holding the meat and cut it right onto your plate. They have filet mignon, bacon wrapped beef, ribeye, lamb, chicken, everything!! Its truly amazing how juicy and well prepared the food is. The orice is 30 bucks for the meal but its worth every penny! This is my new friday 2 hr lunch spot! read more

Beautiful display, nice workers, great service, and the food is very high quality! Extravagant!

I am not sure why the rating is so slow. My client is local and Brazilian. He took me to this place for dinner on Thursday. The place was pretty empty. Only some people drinking at the bar. We ordered the chicken heart, top sirloin, garlic rice, skirt steak, and a round of Brazilian vodka + mojito. Everything is above average. (Better than Fogo de Chao) The skirt steak was incredible. It's soft and juicy. Every bite is worthy the trip to Newark. I will definitely come back in the near future. PS. One suggestion was given by the friend and I guess it made the dinner so good. Order from the main menu. Do not do the buffet style, so you can enjoy the best near. read more
