I visited this restaurant, which used to be called Delicias de Minas and is now called Sabor the Minas, for lunch and trust me, it's pricey! $$$ They offer Brazilian style buffet in which you serve your food, weigh you plate and pay by the pound. You can also add barbecue meat, chicken and other Brazilian churrasco. The food itself was good but I was surprised by the price. My wife and I paid around $25 each (no drinks) and excluding tips which is too much for a simple weekday lunch. We didn't even put that much food and our total bill was over $50. If we had had drinks, our bill would have been more than $60. When we go to other buffet restaurants such as Copacabana in Astoria, Queens, we pay around $12 each for the same amount of food including bbq. Brazilian buffet is another option in Newark much cheaper (they don't offer bbq meat though). Newark needs more simple Brazilian restaurants where you can grab a quick lunch buffet style with no frills for less than $15 during lunch time. Stop with the "all you can eat" and all the fancy stuff and leave the rodízio for the evening hours. I won't be back for lunch because there are many other choices such as Hamburgao and other Brazilian restaurants where you can have lunch for less than $15. read more

A fun restaurant in the heart of Newark, serving brazilian churrascaria style buffet lunch for only $25. The station has mamy different variety of items from salads, breads, to fish, chicken, beef, pork items. I was mostly into the fish and chicken in the station. For churrascaria, you have to walk to another window and ask for type of items you want. Their options are limited, few steaks, chicken (including chicken heart) and ham. Sirloin is the best item. Chicken heats are also tasty. To me, the chicken and other steak types were average. At end of the meal, they served grilled pineapple to us, which turned up to be a fun dish. They include the tip as part of your bill, so keep an eye on what you are paying for. read more

Would give it a 3.5. Went prepared after reading reviews about 1) being charged for water. They said they dont serve tap water and poland spring is $3 per bottle and 2) people being charged $5 per "wasted food" charge. $25 rodizio during the week (as of 04/2022) -buffet of side dishes: nice variety and some unique dishes compared to other rodizios. Very good. -rodizio: only chicken, beef and ine type of sausage. The meat that was well done (which I prefer) so I did not have to wait for this amor ask for them to cook more as I had planned. On the downside, if you like medium meats (like my dining partner), it would be overdone for you. The garlic chicken (all meat no bone, likely thigh) was the best chicken I have ever had at a rodizio. For $25 rodizio during the week, I would recommend. I have a love and hate feeling about this place. It's not consistent, some people are rude, and the food sometimes is amazing and sometimes not so good. It's overpriced but it's the best you can get in that area. Read my full review below: I lived in New Jersey for over a year before moving to North Carolina so I used to visit this restaurant sometimes. Here and there I visit New Jersey and I stop by to eat some Brazilian food. BRAZILIAN STYLE: if you're not familiar with Brazilian rodízio (all you can eat) here's how it works at this restaurant: if you choose the "all you can eat" option, you can visit the salad bar and the churrasco (meat) area as many times as you want. The second Option is to pay by the pound, so you add as much food as you want to your plate and pay by the weight. Remember that if you choose the all you can eat option you can't take the leftovers home, waste food or share of course. FOOD: the main thing here is the meat. I recommend you trying picanha (top sirloin steak) that's cooked over the fire. The salad bar has lots of good sides for you to choose from. I recommend white rice, tropeiro (beans with sausage and collard greens), yuca fries, salpicão (chicken mayo salad) and maybe add some salgadinhos (Brazilian croquettes). They also have good sausages and other meats and grilled pineapple. INSIDE: it has a Brazilian vibe to it and sometimes there's live music. PROS: - There's a great variety of sides and meat; - There's a Brazilian vibe; - It's mostly authentic; - The best place to try Brazilian food for the first time. But make sure to read the cons below. CONS: - Overpriced. The quality isn't that good for how much they charge you. This isn't Fogo de Chão folks. - CHECK YOUR BILL! Never leave a Brazilian restaurant without checking your bill. Trust me. - Don't go there in the first hour after they open. I went there last weekend and the salgadinhos were cold and the picanha was hard and dry and tasted like it was warmed up from the day before. - When I asked for water they brought me a bottled water by default. - My husband ordered a soda and it came when he was almost done with his food. - They charge you between 15% or 20% gratuity even though it's a buffet and you're the one going there to get your own food. - Location: It's not in a good area. Actually I got my car hit by someone and they left without leaving a note or something so I don't really like going there because of the location. I know it's not the restaurant's fault, just saying what happened to me. - The lady at the register was screaming at the poor waitress "close table x, close table x" and it was kinda rude, especially in front of the costumers. I've seen other people complaining about her attitude before. Overall: I've had great and bad experiences at this place. Best Deal Hands Down!! $15.99 all you can eat picanha and other limited meats along with their salad bar but the the other meats don't compare to the other place I went to last week, plus look at the grill here...it's doesn't compare :( You don't get skirt steak, NY, fillet mignon or beef ribs. I recently dined at Churrascuria Boi Na Brasa and it was excellent (4 Stars); the meats you were able to choose from were much more than here, but it's almost double the price when comparing the two. They had picanha, beef ribs, skirt steak, chicken, sausage. 5/5 Value for this place is superb! But make sure you get the meat cooked with less temperature; the ones they cut for me were over cooked, but for the others it was fine. 2/5 Quality of the beef wasn't high; I found the meat to be tougher than than the other place we went to and unless I was eating the meat rare, I wouldn't enjoy it at all. For this place, one of the best parts was the collards. They were so delicious, I couldn't stop eating them; they needed to bring out more and I was super appreciative of that. Service here was very good too. On the weekends, this place becomes a sort of club with live music and they clear out the center tables and chairs to create a pseudo dance floor. They also offer bottle service from Black Label, to Ciroc and much more, and the prices are very cheap. I'm if you've got a table with a few bottles, it'll be your lucky night. Been a short while since dining at Delícias, the quality is second to none and the service is top notch. The buffet options change time to time but always wonderful. This place is awesome, and definitely one of my favorite places in the Ironbound. You can pay for food by the pound, but if you are eating there, I would recommend the special. For $15 (I think it might be a dollar more on weekends), you get all the food you can eat from the buffet, any barbecue/churrascaria items from the grill, a drink (canned soda or Snapple), and a dessert. This will most likely be cheaper than paying separately, and is definitely a good value. The buffet has a bunch of different salads as well as hot foods. The menu varies, but they normally have empadas (similar to empanadas), mini pao de queijo (cheese bread), different meat stews, various veggie dishes, fish, chicken, creamed corn, pasta, and more. The menu is typically not labeled but you can ask if you want to know what something is, and I would just suggest trying everything and seeing what you like. I have especially enjoyed the chicken, fish, and veggies (in particular, I had this amazing butternut squash thing recently). The barbecue is all excellent and well cooked. If you get the special, it excludes the top sirloin but you still have tons of other options. The linguica (sausage) is very tasty, as is the sirloin (tender and flavorful) and the ribs. You can also get anything you want to go and pay by the pound. Most of the meats i have tried have been really good (I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken wrapped in bacon) and I recommend trying a bunch of different stuff. Every dessert I have had has been amazing. They have different fruit mouses, chocolate mousse (which is my favorite),brigadeiro (chocolate balls), flan, and some other stuff. Huge dessert selection and it is all pretty good. There can be a little bit of a language barrier at times, but the staff is super nice and makes it work. I would suggest keeping an open mind and trying everything if you are unfamiliar with Brazilian cuisine. The food was delicious. I stopped for a drink but after seeing meals come out I decided to give it a try. The calamari was a 10/10 perfect crunch and the cocktail sauce was amazing. I will preface this rating with I am rating this restaurant against 2 Brazilian restaurants. Texas De Brazil and Gauchos Do Sul. The only Brazilian food I have had that my wife hasn't cooked (she's Brazilian and cooks amazing). I have no understanding how this restaurant has a current rating of only 3.5 stars. Yes, it is not a dress up and candle light dinner type atmosphere; however, the reason I go to restaurants for food is because I want EXCELLENT food. This place did not disappoint! Wow, the food was fantastic and it was a very clean atmosphere. The ambience was perfect for filling every inch of my stomach with excellent Brazilian food. This restaurant is an absolute must if you have never had Brazilian food. The food was exactly how my wife cooks it with plenty of food that I have never tried. My wife was over the moon happy to have what she called the most authentic Beazilian food she has had since moving to the states. We will be going back for more! read more

Highly overpriced restaurant. The bill came out to $86 which is fine for two buffets and an extra dish. However, when it comes time to pay the final bill, the total comes to over $115. Such unnecessary markup such as credit card fees And mandatory gratuity and other surcharges which increases the cost by over 35% from what you're expecting to pay. I love Rodizio and have dined at several other Brazilian restaurants but this one didn't meet my expectations. You get sides from their buffet and walk up to a counter to get your meats- different than traditional table service but whatever. Buffet food was good, nothing spectacular. Meats were very salty (and I love salt so that's saying a lot) and we got served mainly fat. Sangria was strong, and just okay. I've had much better for half the price. I could say that for the whole experience. I did like the dessert options, they had many to choose from and brought a tray over to our table. The restaurant was empty, and I feel like they try to pass as a high end restaurant but don't come close. Management should amp up the quality and ambience to match their price point. I added a star because the staff seemed very family like and were all friendly amongst each other and seemed happy to be there, even despite a slow night. Most importantly, $160 later we both immediately started feeling nauseous afterward and I threw up in the car ride home. Safe to say we won't be back. read more

We went there with a bunch of friends and the restaurant is fine. The music is very loud and you cannot talk. The staff does not speak English well and did not explain the menu correctly and some of us ended up paying for the wrong dishes. We were told that the rodizio was $25 dollars and the buffet was $16.99. However you have to weight the food to get charged. If you do not weigh the food you will be charged for the rodizio. They do not serve tap water and charge $3 dollars per bottle of water. The drinks were overpriced and did not tell us how much. We paid $18 dollars for martinis. read more

There was a wide variety of food including the delicious yucca fries and the divine spinach-cheese casserole. The picanha was so good medium rare. The Bad: Relatively high price per pound. The hearts were a little bit overdone. Other Brazilian buffets that I have frequented have lots more variety. This was our first time at Delicias de Minas. We walked into a local and unique restaurant with a wide array of choices for dinner and tasty meats! Not to mention the service was excellent! They always asked us if we wanted more until we didn't have any more space in our tummy's. There was also live music by these 2 great musicians. Any place with live music is a place to go! Tips: - Try to refrain from going later than 8:30 pm so that the meats are not too dry when you go up for choosing. This place has a good amount of potential if they make some changes. My wife and I came here on a Saturday night after reading the yelp reviews. It was fairly empty for 8pm. The place consists of a rather small buffet and a guy off to the side w/ a bunch of different meats on a rotisserie, you take what you want, you can take some meat from the rotisserie guy, he'll cut it off right into your plate and then they weigh the dish, give you a number and you sit to eat. The buffet was good w/ some cold dishes, some rice dishes, a few different meat dishes. It was good, i wasn't like "OMG, i want to eat here every night" but it was good.. The staff is super attentive and pleasant. I have a few problems with the place, #1 Way too bright, i felt like i was in my high school cafeteria. #2 3 TVs going , i don't want to watch TV, i want to converse while i eat dinner #3 No music, some nice mood music would be nice instead of TV IMHO #4 Dirty & stained ceiling tiles, (this always pisses me off) #5 Dirty a/c vents (this too) Again, i liked this place and i think with a few adjustments they can make this place really welcoming. They also have karaoke at I think 8 or 9pm Fri and Sat. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Oh yah! A few minutes from the Newark Airport, tucked away in what is largely a Brazilian neighborhood, Delicias de Minas is an incredible buffet that puts the way more costly chains to shame. First is the buffet. The pictures give a fair representation of what they have, but multiply it a few times for the entire line they offer. I liked the rice, maduros (not,sure what the Brazilian name is), empanadas, broccoli and carrots, etc. My wife had the fish and meat that was in the buffet. But heck, that wasn't even it! Once you're done there, you go for the real deal. steak, chicken, etc.. on the stick! Save a little room though for dessert! They have a small fridge with what looks like tens of choices, but we stuck with the flan. A great choice, as it was done wonderfully! So let's recap. Nice establishment in a Brazilian neighborhood, great food, wonderful dessert, and didn't even mention the agreeable people. The price for all this, two sodas and one milk was 32 dollars including tax! If you're traveling through, live close, whatever, definitely would recommend stopping here. read more

We really enjoyed our first visit here. We took the $15.99 buffet, and all the items on it were delicious, with a wide selection of dishes. Higher priced buffets entitle one to steaks and spareribs. Everything went well. The food and the service was good. I will say one thing, this place in newark is like other places in Elizabeth they automatically add gratuity. We were a table of 4 2 adults and 2 kids. After reading Yelp reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We were not disappointed! They had a nice selection of food and the rodizio was great too. We had the super special deal. 15 bux for all you can eat buffet and rodizio meats and included your drink ( soda, bottled water, etc. ) and dessert! We had the serradura, which was delish! They also have a liquor license now so we had sangria. It was just perfect. The only negative was that there were some pesky fruit flies attracted to the sangria. I'm deducting a star for that. I told our waiter and he was very apologetic. The service was good; our waiter was friendly and even shook our hands when we left. We will be returning! read more

I've eaten here many times before and the food has been great. So naturally when my co-workers and I were in the mood for Brazilian food I said we should order from here and so we did. We got their BBQ special for "3 people". When we got our order in we had a mountain of yucca, fries and plantain. Where's the meat? We got 2 tiny, shriveled pathetic dried pieces of picanha. And all the other pieces of "meat" sausage, chicken were buried under the fries which they served so generously and were so cheap on the meats. The food was cold, tasteless, just plain bad. I've been coming here for years im so disappointed. I'm not returning for overpriced tasteless food which is a ripoff.
