I was so busy eating I didn't take pictures!!! I love this restaurant. There is no better rodizio around. They have a wide variety of meats all cooked to perfection. If you want something specific they will bring it over. It was my birthday and we brought cake and they happily cut it for us and sang. Can't be beat.

Ribeye and Lobster

Came here for a birthday dinner and it was quite busy for a Tuesday. No internet reception so be prepared to leave everything on the phone behind! They provide a parking lot for customers which is great, especially with how difficult it is finding parking in Newark. I had their ribeye and lobster, and it was DELICIOUS. The others had some unlimited meat meal, where the chef brings out all different types of fresh and steaming meat throughout the dinner. When coming, make sure you book a reservation in advance. Service was great. If you're looking for more of an upscale dinner for any special occasion, Fernandes Steak House is the place to do it at!

Found this on Yelp! as we were visiting New Jersey. We were not disappointed. Our wait staff Alex was amazing. We started with Portuguese rolls - and remember when your mom said to not eat all the bread? She would have been disappointed in us but it was worth the car calories. We had the shrimp in garlic as our appetizer and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. There was a hint of smoked paprika which nicely accented the garlic sauce. I had the Frenched veal chops, which were perfectly tender and delicious. My husband had the ribeye and lobster tails entree. He said they were delicious and cooked perfectly. Both entrees were accompanied by a vegetable mid, rice and potatoes. The vegetables were a little crisp, probably due to the early dinner hour - but were delicious. The rice left a bit to be desired - but I'm not a rice person (unless it's risotto) so it might just be me. We finished with decaf cappuccinos and 20-year old port. Wonderful! I highly recommend.

Came here years ago, it's an experience. You get massive portions, juicy fatty salty bits of meat, just be careful not to overeat or you'll be up all night with a stomach ache. The pichana is always a hit, personally I love chicken hearts too, and the sliced pineapple is fun. Desserts are massive shareable portions.

The food was well made. But it was not anything spectacular. The Tomahawk was pricy for the size. I have had bigger ones for the same price. The gin and tonic was mid at best. Service was good. I feel like this place is overpriced for Newark and especially the area in Newark. Hidden in the back. I think Newark has better offerings.

Meat platter - A large square white plate holds grilled meats, rice, French fries, and a side salad with spinach leaves, set on a green tablecloth.

Went in around lunch and had the meat platter plate over rodizio. Some of the meat was super tender, and others like the kebab were a little tough. If I was to choose again, I would go with the rodizio so I can have seconds of the meats i like. Parking is valet.

Chilean Sea Bass - A seafood dish featuring a grilled fish fillet, boiled potatoes, lemon wedges, and steamed broccoli, carrots, and green beans on a white platter.

Ok, so to start if you plan to have dinner here on the weekend, a reservation is a must! I tried 24 hrs in-advance and they had closed reservations, as had 275 already. So we decided to come for a late lunch and still no tables available, but happily sat at the bar. Service is excellent, drinks are strong and fish so fresh. Prices are high but definitely worth it, love that they have free valet parking. What I love most about this restaurant is its upscale but family vibe. The interior is beautiful, you feel like you're eating in a castle.

Ask the Community - Fernandes steakhouse

Do they have big lobster in garlic sauce?

They do sell lobster at market value. But it doesn't specify which way it is made.

How do appetizers/sides work with Rodizio? Are they ordered ala carte as extras or is there a salad and sides bar? TIA

You'd order those Appetizers on the side. With the rodizio you do get a dinner plate that has a few handfuls of shareables - things like French fries, rice, and plantains. But no full scale salad bar like you'd find at some places.

How much is a meal?

Be prepared to spend at least $75 min. per person for your meal, drink, and appetizer.

Is rodizio offered during dinner?

Yes, but its ordered with your food. Be mindful that it will be A LOT. So, if you order appetizer & entry the rodizio will come out continuously while you're eating dinner- Steaks, chicken, sausage & pork

Are they still serving rodizio style here?

Yup!

SHould I go here for my 40th birthday. Is there music?

There was no music on the Sat evening we went. They do own a club a couple of blocks away with music.

I am coming here on Saturday for an anniversary dinner. For the rodizio, how much is it? and is it unlimited? I went to a churrascaria place and it was just endless meat all around. How does it usually work? What is the pricing like all around?

There is an all-you-can-eat option. I don't recall the exact price and it may vary slightly with a weekend/holiday versus a weeknight. What I remember is somewhere in the $45-55 range.

¿Hay buffet ocasionalmente o normalmente?, y cuál es el precio y que incluye

I am not the dueno . I never do just buffet I do steaks and rodizio 😂😂

Ayce or not?

Yes. They come with large skewers of meat until you say done. All you can eat meat and same with salad bar.

I have reservations for Sunday night at 6 debating taking the train or a 45 minute drive. Is it an easy place to get an Uber or Cab too or would you recommend driving?

Would recommend driving, not much else in the area. They have valet parking and lot is fenced off.

Would anyone recommend coming here for their 30th birthday dinner for a couple?

Yes! It's a fun place with good food. The rodizio is a fun option with quality meats and they're drinks are good too. Go for it!

Are there restrooms on the ground floor? I only know about the restrooms in the basement and second floor.

My mom is handicapped and they did tell us there is a bathroom she could use on that floor

How much is the rodizio?

I believe it varies on the day of the week but somewhere around 30 or so during the week and around 36 or 37 on the weekend (Fri-Sun).

Well, let's get started: We sat down. Water and menus came, a drink order was put in, and before we knew it, bread, olives, and a salad (all unordered, all appreciated) appeared. The bread was warm (as God intended) and the salad nicely done up, already with an Italian dressing. The olives were spicy and yummy! Ok - not ordered, but I wasn't going to argue! We ordered a seafood paella - holy moly! It was like a 14" in diameter deep dish when it came out! Tasty, lots of mussels, shrimps, scallops, even a bit of lobster..... wow. I ordered chicken picatta - expecting thin strips of chicken in a nice sauce on top of pasta....damn. I got two flat, pressed chicken breasts on pasta. Can anyone say too big by half??? Wow. Couldn't finish it. And here's where the "food being thrown to us" came in- we got a side of green beans AND a side of seasoned rice AND a side of homemade potato chips (that needed salt but still). Damn. After declining dessert, they STILL brought us 6 little churros with a dark chocolate dipping sauce. WOW. Call me totally amazed. The pricing wasn't outrageous, and the food was absolutely BOUNTIFUL and yummy! The ambiance was amazing- old school in a classy way. And the service was absolutely ON POINT. Can't speak highly enough of this place! Nicely located in Ironbound and close to Newark Penn - will I come again? Yes. But I'll need room at the hotel for the leftovers! Yummy.

On one such occasion, I found myself dining on enormous portions of seafood at Seabra. The service was just as terse as I remembered, but I didn't care because each of their dishes were big enough to feed three people on a single person's cost. We started with complimentary sardine croquettes that were bigger than my hands. And tasty as all heck. Then we got the Salada de Polvo, which seems pricey at $27.95--until it arrives and you realize they've probably put ten octopi in there. And talk about perfectly cooked! If they'd been any chewier, they would've come straight from the sea. Our only miss was the Gambas Mozambique, which--while large and flavorful--was more oily than I would've liked. However, the enormous Espaguete com Vongole e Camarao that basically came in a cauldron more than made up for it. And yup, the service was just as curt as I expected. I don't think we even got a thank you. I'm convinced that if they remade The Sopranos, Tony would 100% take his goomah to a place like this.

They had a wide variety of food, all ranging from beef, pork, chicken, seafood, and some vegetarian options. They had an extensive wine menu, and my boyfriend joyfully enjoyed a glass of wine. I got the brazilian fried chicken, which was extremely flavorful, and i was surprised there wasn't any breading on the chicken as typical fried chicken does. I much preferred the no-breading style, which I think is the Brazilian way. I would have preferred a boneless dish, as there were quite a few pieces with bones, and it was pretty oily at the bottom of the dish. It came with two very large sides, and totaled around $25. 100% would recommend this dish, but I do think at a lower price point, this could make do with just one side, instead of two, as the main dish was quite large enough to fill me up. My favorite part of this meal was the garlic butter bread that they provide for free. It comes out extremely fresh with lots of chopped up garlic, which is my favorite part of garlic bread. It was a great way to start the dinner off. The service was great and the waiters were extremely attentive. They regularly checked up on how we felt about the food and filled up our drinks. The restaurant was pretty empty while we were dining, but the space was laid out very nicely and the decor was beautiful. Would come again if it wasn't so far!

We ended up cancelling the appetizers, so no harm, no foul, but the waiter I guess forgot to relay the appetizers order to the kitchen. In retrospect, we were kind of thankful it didn't come out because there was so much food in our entrees, so we were able to save some room for dessert ... which was super important!
