Baonanas is a really unique, founded-in-Jersey City dessert spot. It is set up like a fro-yo or ice cream line where you can pick your size and flavor, then add toppings. The banana flavor is *really* strong, even when mixed with other flavors. There were 2-3 dairy free options as well. I also got the "Tito Arnold Palmer" which was iced tea mixed with calamansi, a really tart citrus fruit. Delicious and less than $5 for a really large cup! There's chairs and tables inside and out, or you can take it to go.

This is my top favorite place in jersey! I come here almost every week and sometimes even twice a week. I love the different flavors they offer and the ube is my top flavor i enjoy. Its a pretty ambient looking place and service is pretty quick

I've always wanted to try this spot. I happened to be around the neighborhood and ordered the Ube flavored banana pudding. It was light and not too sweet. It was really good. I will come back and try their other flavors.

had this spot at smorgasburg in williamburg and the ubenana definitely did not disappoint! Very light & creamy with a subtle banana taste. It was $7.50 for a single scoop which wasn't too bad for what it was! Would definitely come back and get the double scoop next time lol

A bread pudding dessert place so interesting! Loved this place, tried the OG with vanilla wafers. Definitely creamy and delicious yet not too sweet of a treat. I wanted to try the drinks and food. Service was exceptional, the server offered to open the back patio up and turn on the lights for us too. Super cute little shop you should check out soon, wish I had one in Arizona.

Incredible banana pudding! I really recommend coming here and trying their flavors. My personal favorites were cookies and cream and the rose lychee. The banana pudding is decadent and very creamy. The rose lychee is a must try if you're a lychee martini lover like me. The employees are all super nice and the overall cafe is cute too. It has a little game board section and is a good place to hang out or catch up with a friend. They also have coffee.

Serendipitously parked in front, and we're so glad we did! Banana pudding meets asian flavors. Bright space with plenty of seating to get work done or play w one of their fun board games. Great service, too. Will try their drinks next time -- Ordered: Buko Pandan and Ube banana pudding

U-Bae I'm in love! For AT LEAST 8 years, the ONLY BananaPudding that had my heart has been Magnolia Bakery. I've even tried ONE that came close but I was just gaslit by their use of Pepperidge Farm Chess Cookies. But today, [[write it down in your calendar]] I've found THE ONE to surpass them all. Baonanas is IT!! Light, smooth, chunky, and oh, so good! Not too sweet but all the flavor was there. Also had an Ube Cloud Latte which my fussy Mom LOVED. They customed the drink to how she wanted it and she still can't stop talking about how good it is. The staff was incredibly patient with us and so personable. The place is cute. A light in an up & coming neighborhood. So much to choose from. So many unique flavors. I WILL be back!

This is a cute place to sit and read a book and have something sweet to eat. Honestly, if two people were to go on a dessert date I'd say this is a nice place to start to get to know one another over some banana pudding. It's clean! It is clean and cozy. Maybe there are about 4/5 tables there where people can sit. It's small but not dumb tiny. The two people behind the register were soo kind and generous. I got some fresh OG banana pudding of which they had a sign telling you it's fresh and they recommend waiting 24 hours for the cookies to soften. Lucky for me that I don't like soft or mushy cookies so I was right on time! The pudding is a nice whipped pudding. Not thick whipped though. And not runny. But whipped. It was good! I'm gona go here again. I also got the rose strawberry pudding I think it's called, and that was a flavor I never had before. I'll get this in a bigger size next time I go back. I thoroughly enjoyed this here. Highly recommend.

My eyes and heart opened when I tasted a flavor different from the original banana Nila wafer banana pudding that I've been exposed to when I had baonanas ! We got a couple pints which can be split into 2 flavors! The Ube pudding is most definitely is my fav flavor yet! We did try matcha Oreo and cookie butter( very slightly different from the original) there was one man serving who was filling a large order for a lady who was there before us, he took a bit of time but it was definitely worth the wait! I also did get the calamansi lemonade that was refreshing ! I wish this was available in north Carolina too I terribly miss the flavor in my mouth!

Literally the best pudding ive ever had from a restaurant! Wow!!! So light and sweet without being too sweet!! I had the Original!! Perfect amount of cookies and bananas!!! I just may stop by Friday! Lol The owners are so nice! Born and raised JC natives!! Please stop by and give this local business some love!! U wont be disappointed

Ordered: Create Your Own Half Pint (~$9): Matcha Oreo & Ubenanas Create Your Own Half Pint (~$9): Blueberry Cheesecake & Lychee Rose Aya's take: If you know me, you know I love banana-flavored desserts and was happy to be back at Baonanas for more! It was my birthday month and I love that you can get a free pint of baonanas if you're a rewards member! Let's get right to the pudding! The Ubenanas & Matcha Oreo is a divine combination! The Matcha Oreo one is fluffy with soft Oreo cookies and a matcha mousse, combined with the lightly sweet ube with layers of fresh banana - it's an unbeatable combination. The Blueberry Cheesecake & Lychee Rose was good but a bit fruitier and I found some of the flavors to clash. The Blueberry Cheesecake had a blueberry mousse with blueberry jam, graham crackers, and fresh blueberries and bananas; there was quite a bit of graham cracker filling which took away from the other flavors. The Lychee Rose was super unique and I actually enjoyed the essence of lychee & rose in the mousse along with the fresh strawberries. I would love this in a drink form lol. The worker helping us was incredibly sweet and friendly. Definitely worth stopping by!

absolutely my favorite dessert place. their pudding is always so incredibly flavorful and easily melts in your mouth! it always has a good ratio of banana and cake, and is never too sweet. they also provide a select few complimentary toppings, which most dessert places don't offer! staff is also always so eager to provide samples and recommendations, so I never feel like a bother when I can't decide on what to get. I had the french toast and smores flavors, and they paired so well together! the French toast had a strong cinnamon flavor, which I absolutely loved. the s'mores was very decadent. this location is unfortunately a 20 min walk from the PATH, so Im not likely to come back anytime soon as I live in new york. however, the space is so cute, with boardgames and a backyard patio. I wish they reopened the new york location, but this was worth the journey!

Holding it or tasting it gives a substantial, high-quality feel. However, the consequence is that even the staff struggles to scoop it out with their spherical ice cream scoops, let alone the disposable plastic spoons provided to customers. Green Tea: The highest praise Chinese people can give for desserts--not sweet--and it truly tastes like green tea, not matcha. The refreshing bitterness was incredibly pure, even bordering on slightly bitter, which is extremely rare in the US. Vanilla Peanut Butter: Very milky, but extremely salty, like eating peanut butter spread on bread. The vanilla flavor was almost completely masked. Coconut & Cream: I've always trusted American coconut ice cream, but this time it was a bit of a disappointment. The cream completely overshadowed the coconut, so much so that it took me a long time to recall what flavor I actually ordered. Ube: One bite brought back childhood memories, exactly the same as the ube flavor Wuyang五羊 ice cream cone. It was so touching I didn't order this in the end since I want to try more flavors as possible. I don't know why, but ube flavor seems to be gradually fading in China... Blueberry Cheesecake: The initial taste was a rich, sweet cream, with a refreshing hint of blueberry tartness in the aftertaste. It's pretty good, but honestly, it's not particularly outstanding. Banana Peanut Butter Chunk: The staff recommended this signature dish, and it once again made me realize how subjective taste can be... It's on the sweeter and saltier side, with a very strong flavor, but more importantly, it has a noticeable artificial banana flavor.

Service was great and allow you to try a couple flavors if you're unsure which is great as not all ice cream spots makes the flavors the same! I had high hopes for the Alfajores as this is an Argentinian bakery but unfortunately the ones given to me were stale. The cookie was very hard. Also the Dulce de leche was too sweet and burnt tasting to me. I also got a chocolate covered one and the cookie in that was also hard and dry. The strawberry croissant was amazing.
