My friend moved into the Heights neighborhood and suggested Dulce de Leche Bakery for breakfast. This cute spot did not disappoint! The staff is helpful and kindly answered my questions about sauce ingredients. Opted to try the guava and cheese pastry, strawberry matcha and sausage sandwich with fries. Everything was delicious. The fries were perfectly fried and served still warm. We picked up a slice of dulce de leche cake, chocolate cake (reminded us of Boston cream pie, tres leches and a few dulce de leche cookies and swirl pastry) to go. All of the baked goods are amazing, nice and light! I definitely will make this a must stop by the next time I am in the area.

If you know, you know Dulce de Leche is a gem known for their delicious pastries and cakes. I'm in love with their breakfast sandwiches but this visit was for cake slices since my boyfriend and I are obsessed with their DDL Chantilly cake. It's chocolate cake with layers of dulce de leche and whipped cream, it's so light and fluffy. I always order online for pickup in which I walk straight to the cash registers, a staff member grabs my order, and I then I head out. The slices of cake are pretty hefty too. They also have other sandwiches, smoothies, juices, coffee, and more. There's tables and chairs to sit with a laptop and I believe they have free Wi-Fi. Since I visited during the weekday around the afternoon, there weren't many people here but there were times I did have to wait on line for a while especially on the weekends. Definitely check them out!

Ordered: Tres Leches Slice (~$6): vanilla cake, bavarian cream, dulce de leche, and peach Tiramisu Slice (~$6): layers of coffee liqueur soaked cake and mascarpone cream, topped with chocolate powder Aya's take: Someone told me this is the best tres leches cake in North Jersey and I had to see for myself. With 3 locations in North Jersey and 1 in Miami, you can see the Argentine influence in all their cakes and baked goods. The space is also bright and contemporary with plenty of seating. Both slices were delicious! The Tres Leches Slice was super moist, creamy, and fresh. The peach inside was an interesting take but it somehow worked. The Tiramisu Slice was decadent, indulgent, and somehow light. I think I liked this more actually! Everything they had looked delicious and fresh despite me going in the afternoon. Highly recommend!

Ordered a custom cake from here for my 30th birthday. Staff was extremely flexible and willing to assist with anything we needed. The cake turned out beautifully and tasted amazing!

Love this bakery! I went on a Tuesday in the early afternoon and it was not busy which was nice. They had a nice selection of items. The counter lady was not very patient, but she was very fast. I mentioned that I wanted a full cake and she kept calling me over to the end but I hadn't decided if I wanted any individual items and she seemed a little annoyed. I could understand if there was a line, but there was no one behind me. Once I shuffled over to the cakes, she was really friendly. She grabbed the cake I requested and boxed it up and asked if I wanted a birthday sign and showed me the color options which was really nice. We also got the mini alfajores and the heart shaped dulce de leche brownies. When we had them back home, everything was excellent! The mini alfajores were small, soft, and not overly sweet. The dulce de leche brownies hearts were a little more sweet but not by much. And the passion fruit cheesecake was a hit for my grandma's birthday. My mom, that is not a fan of cheesecake, absolutely loved it! It was soft with the delicious flavor of passion fruit and didn't have an overly sweet frosting which made it really nice! Love this bakery!

This plus 5 eaten pieces was under $25. Seem like they use the same buttery base & add different flavor before & after baking to complete most of these fresh, buttery & satiating pastries, this place is consistent with great taste & excellent service. You will not be disappointed with food here, as this is definitely 1 of, if not the best bakery in Jersey City & is still reasonably priced without sacrificing quality, taste or consistency. You will not be disappointed the product here.

Best bakery around! Can't go wrong with anything you order here, it's all excellent. Their pastries are delicious and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. They also sell cakes by the slice along with their full cakes. Will definitely be back soon!

Dulce de Lecche has become my go to spot for sweet cravings. The tiramisu is an absolute must have, and their breakfast croissants are always on point. I also love their classic coconut mousse cake, the layers of dulce de leche mousse make it unbelievably good. The ambience is warm and inviting, the coffee is pretty solid, and they even have great decaf options. Highly recommended!

Our server was very on top of her stuff, making sure we had everything we needed and we were enjoying the food. She even let us practice our Spanish with her when ordering! My sister ordered the chicken tinga tacos and I ordered the beef birria. Both taco orders came with 5 tacos (because of the deal, it is typically 4), onions, cilantro, lime, and radish. Don't sleep on the radish, it my favorite part to add a nice crunch! Both meats were very flavorful and tender. They also gave us green and hot salsa on the side (green was my fave) and the birria tacos came with some delicious consommé for dipping. We also ordered guac and chips as an appetizer which was very fresh, and our favorite jarritos flavors to drink. It's decorated very nicely inside - no frills, a few tables and chairs inside for dining in and even a bar-style area with stools for those dining by themselves. They also offer takeout of course, but I honestly enjoyed sitting down because everything was very quick and they took great care of us. We walked, but there is only street parking so keep that in mind when traveling here.

Franklin, the owner, was very nice and steered me to some great choices. I got the beef and cheese and the beef chimichurri, both outstanding. I am saving my guava and cheese one for later but it also looks good. While the empanadas were delicious, the generous portions of sauce complemented quite nicely and kicked it up to another flavor level. The pink Siracha is creamy with a kick. The chimichurri sauce is very fresh with lots of garlic. You can pick up to three empanada and two sauce flavors for the meal. The store looks empty but if the door is open, walk in and someone will be out from the back. I thought it was on the expensive side, but it was a better empanada than some other places that barely put any meat. Flavors were good - next time i'd probably go with just cheesesteak and chimi sauce. Other things were just okay, probably wouldn't try them again. Friendly service, I'd stop by again when the craving hits.

I had the Mini-Quibe de Carne e Queijo (Beef Kibbeh) for an appetizer. How the Chef managed to get the spice to meat tenderness ratio so perfectly, I'll never know but will always be grateful for. I tried the Cajá juice and loved it! Be forewarned, it is not sweet but the fruit is distinctly tart and refreshing. My (huge) entree, the Estrogonofe (Chicken Stroganoff), was recommended to me by my server, who I trust with all food recommendations now because WOW.
