This small café is easily overlooked among the three other coffee shops on the same street, but once you step inside, you can tell it's a unique spot. They offer a variety of empanadas; I tried the beef and cheese, and it was fantastic. The food is fresh and delicious, and the coffee is exceptional as well. The service is excellent, with friendly and welcoming staff.

I tried this for the first time 2 days ago - I then had it yesterday and today! It's so so good I kept going back. I got a chicken and cheese empeñada 3 days in a row. I am excited to try something else soon!

It was a hot day and we wanted iced coffee. What a pleasant surprise to look across the street and find Empanadas Cafe. Argentine empanadas are my favorite and the make a delicious iced coffee that hit the spot on a 93F degree day. We shared a ham $ cheese and a chicken empanada. Both were excellent. I can't wait to return.

Staff was real friendly. I got the Cuban and it really tasted like the sandwich. These empanadas are all baked. So didn't feel guilty eating it!! Lots of flavors to select from, a little something for everyone

I've walked past this empanadas cafe a thousand times, today I decided to try them out. As I always buy my empanadas from O'lala Empanadas in Jersey City, so I'll have to make the comparison between. Well this Hoboken spot offers many more varieties and also a few pastries and fresh juice. I got the spinach and veggie empanadas and unfortunately they weren't that great. They have a light dough and lots of filling, but the flavor is missing. They look pretty and taste decent but definitely not the best. I'll stick to my JC empanadas.

Hoboken's Washington Street has an endless number of options when it comes to dining. If you're in the mood for a small bite look no further than the @empanadascafehb. With a multitude of empanadas to choose from it is a fun place to explore with your tastebuds. Empanadas are not the only offering as there are also a variety of pastries and arepas to choose from as well not to mention that there is a listing of sandwiches too. With multiple options this makes empanadas cafe an affordable fun place to bring friends. Alongside the empanadas we also sampled the cookies which were super delicious with some piping hot lattes. If you are a late night coffee drinker, head over to Empanadas cafe to get your fix.

Really extensive selection of empanadas but they are decently priced and filling. I got the spicy chorizo empanada and it was delicious. They give sauces on the side too which added to the flavor. I felt the spicy chorizo needed a kick and I'm glad they gave a spicy sauce. Service was nice too. Would happily come back and try more empanadas.

Argentine style (wheat crust), but definitely can get spicier than you'd find in Buenos Aires, which is a plus.

Franklin, the owner, was very nice and steered me to some great choices. I got the beef and cheese and the beef chimichurri, both outstanding. I am saving my guava and cheese one for later but it also looks good. While the empanadas were delicious, the generous portions of sauce complemented quite nicely and kicked it up to another flavor level. The pink Siracha is creamy with a kick. The chimichurri sauce is very fresh with lots of garlic. You can pick up to three empanada and two sauce flavors for the meal. The store looks empty but if the door is open, walk in and someone will be out from the back. I had dogs in the car so i waited outside and Franklin was nice enough to bring the order out, as well as with my sunglasses which i had left on the counter. I will definitely be ordering from here many times to come.

I got the chimi sauce, pink sauce, and bbq. The empanadas are made to order so expect a little wait. I thought it was on the expensive side, but it was a better empanada than some other places that barely put any meat. Flavors were good - next time i'd probably go with just cheesesteak and chimi sauce. Other things were just okay, probably wouldn't try them again. Friendly service, I'd stop by again when the craving hits.

Christ on a chopstick, I haven't seen an $8 sandwich since I was in grad school (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth)! We started with the Tamal Cubano, which was fantastically delicious, though the accompanying sauce wasn't hot at all. A shame, because it was well-flavored--just needed a lot more capsaicin. My Cubano was very well done, but barely had any pickle in it, which made me sad. I opted to add fries and wasn't sad about the small, thin ones I got (very McDonald's-shaped). However, the Pechuga de Pollo Adobada con Escabeche de Calabaza was a disappointment. The grilled chicken was drastically overcooked, probably because they used really lean breast meat. The accompanying Caribbean pumpkin was interesting, but too small. The other side of rice and beans was perfect, though--great bean texture and lots of savory flavor. With tax and tip included, our meal came out to $33. $33! You can't even get lunch for one person for that price at 90% of Manhattan restaurants south of Central Park. I could've cried with wonder at the bill. Time travel is real guys--at least financially. Just hop into El DeLorean and come to Chango.

I've never eaten anything that I didn't like. My faves are: milhojas, breakfast croissant sandwich, and any and every cake with dulce de leche filling. So get anything fresh, like made to order cakes or things you see come out right when you're there. Otherwise you run the risk of getting old stuff, which sucks that they don't manage that at all. On a Sunday afternoon lines moved quickly and we were able to find seats. This is a cute cafe that offers plenty of savory items and lunches, plus drinks like matcha, cakes, pastries and cookies. There is also a bathroom! The women behind the counter were all nice and patient with my questions, they also kept the line moving and were quick. I had high hopes for the Alfajores as this is an Argentinian bakery but unfortunately the ones given to me were stale. The cookie was very hard. Also the Dulce de leche was too sweet and burnt tasting to me. I also got a chocolate covered one and the cookie in that was also hard and dry. The strawberry croissant was amazing. Never had anything like that before. Not too sweet and very flaky. It has a ribbon of red on the outside which gives it a unique look. I would love to come back and try savory items. I'll continue to stick with the cakes and croissants for desert and make sure it's fresh!

The bread is great if you plan to eat it fresh or freeze for later. The Heroes and Portuguese Rolls are my favorites, and the prices are unbeatable. The Glazed Donut was a good try; it's more like a cake than a donut but would definitely pair well with a coffee. I saw the Empanadas on display and decided to try two. The Beef Empanada was pretty solid but the Chicken Empanada threw me off a bit with the carrots inside. With $10 in your pocket, you can walk out of here with so much!
