Wanted to order a quick lunch and very glad I got take out from here. I got the five empanada meal with a drink for $10. Franklin, the owner, was very nice and steered me to some great choices. I got the beef and cheese and the beef chimichurri, both outstanding. I am saving my guava and cheese one for later but it also looks good. While the empanadas were delicious, the generous portions of sauce complemented quite nicely and kicked it up to another flavor level. The pink Siracha is creamy with a kick. The chimichurri sauce is very fresh with lots of garlic. You can pick up to three empanada and two sauce flavors for the meal. The store looks empty but if the door is open, walk in and someone will be out from the back. I had dogs in the car so i waited outside and Franklin was nice enough to bring the order out, as well as with my sunglasses which i had left on the counter. Came in and ordered the 10 combo for 20. Came with two drinks and 3 sauces. I got the chimi beef, chimi chicken, cheesesteak, and beef & cheese. I got the chimi sauce, pink sauce, and bbq. The empanadas are made to order so expect a little wait. I thought it was on the expensive side, but it was a better empanada than some other places that barely put any meat. Flavors were good - next time i'd probably go with just cheesesteak and chimi sauce. Other things were just okay, probably wouldn't try them again. I was looking for a new place to order take out from and support locally and came across this deliciousness! I ordered the beef chimi, chicken and cheese, Philly cheesesteak, and mixed cheese. Those were my favorite--savory best of all Dominican style! I also ordered the Guava and cheese but for my personal preference it was too much Guava and I was looking for more sweet/salty balance. The green chimi and pink sauce was a great compliment. I did notice their delivery menu is limited compared to the picture of the menu I saw posted through here. I recently used Empanada Central as a catering service for my birthday party. Dave & Franco were very helpful, patient and made it easy to plan the items that i wanted. My favorite items that i had were the pizza empanadas, guava+cheese and the rice and beans. everyone loved the rice&beans, chicken chimmi and the pizza empanadas. everything was hot and ready at the time i chose for things to be picked up. they also gave me alot of sauces, and large quantities of them too. the maduros were okay, i feel they could have been cooked a little more, but everything else really was good. the empanadas were very full and had a nice crunchy outside. i would use again for another party! read more

I hoped the beef was a bit more savory, for the spicy oil to ooze out from the bottom. Couldnt figure out the ingredient in the cheeseburger at first but later realized that it was chopped up pickles, not a big fan. Did not really care for the special sauce or the chimichurri. BUT my toddler did devour two chicken with cheese empanadas and my husband was game for any flavor so maybe it was just not for me. Normally I'm not much of an empanada person, but that's only because I hadn't been here before! They have all sorts of flavors (wife and I are vegetarian and we ordered like 6 different types). Everything made to order; delicious fresh flavors. We didn't have a 'favorite' (they were all very good), but a few of what we ordered: veggie+cheese, kale+cheese, bbq veggie, Nutella, guava+cheese. Thanks to yelp search, we found a place that was real close and we loved them, made to order, so it was FRESH! I've got to say I had a lot of empanadas in my day and these were more like the Dominican pastelitos in the shape of an empanada. I had the chicken in the beef and they were both very dry and lacked any flavor. The beef was not what I expected expected in shredded type of beef and it was ground hamburger with hardly any onion in it if any or flavoring or garlic I did order it mild but that doesn't mean it has to lack flavor. I ordered blueberry BBQ two and two other sauces only received 3 BBQ blueberry sauces. I don't even think the sauce is would helped. We decided at the recommendation of family we are visiting to try this place out. We decide to place a delivery order, and we find conflicting information from the store's 2 different websites about when it opens, either 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. We try calling at around 10:30 a.m. to place an order, and are told they open at 12. At 12 p.m., we call back and place our order. 1:20 pm (80 minutes after placing our order): We call to check on our order, and the person who answered the phone, David, said that the delay was due to the fact that they were backed up with catering orders and that the delivery driver was leaving that moment with our order. 1:45 (105 minutes after order): Our order still hasn't showed up, so we call once more. David said something to the effect of the driver quitting, they had to re-make our order, and that he was personally delivering us our order. 2:00 pm (120 minutes after order): David shows up with our order. This level of service is completely unacceptable. This review would be 1 star except that (a) the empanadas actually were quite good, and (b) David did attempt to compensate us for our troubles (50% off the order). If I take his word for it that he did hire extra driver(s) to help with today's extra catering load, I'm sure it'd be an interesting story as to why said driver(s) quit and made off with our food. Hire more reliable help and treat them in a way that doesn't cause them to quit at the worst times. If additional help wasn't actually requested for a high-demand day, then that needs to happen. Regardless, if you think people's orders are going to be delayed beyond a reasonable amount (2 hours delivery is way beyond reasonable), then tell them up front on the phone. They can decide at that time to continue placing an order, or find another place. Don't leave your customers angry and hungry, especially with no explanation. Oh, and also, the hours on the website(s) should be fixed. *Edit: The owner called me back and cursed at me for leaving this review, banning me from the store. Reduced my rating from 3 stars to 1 star. That's just unprofessional, and there's no excuse. read more

This place has EASILY become my favorite spot to order from when I need my empanada fix (which let's be real, is quite often). Their empanadas are always fresh, perfectly cooked, filling and not greasy. I usually get the beef (great with their chimichurri sauce), ham & mozzarella cheese, and their BBQ Chicken empanada (highly addictive). I have only tried the meat & cheese filled empanadas so far however they do have a nice selection of sweet as well as savory. After the first time we ordered they called us to ask how everything was and continued to be just as kind the second time around. They're always on time with their delivery and love what they do.
