Stopped by Dolce & Salato to check out their renovations and it was updated so nicely! Very modern and bright. The service was welcoming and friendly which is always a plus! I remember coming here a couple year backs and realizing they had gelato to the far left side but with the renovations it displays a bit better. I ordered the lavender matcha (2/5) I didn't love it. It was a little too pale green for my preference. I always order my matchas with almond milk and they're typically not as pale green. I also ordered the pistachio croissant (5/5) it was SO delicious! I LOVED the pistachio filling and the nice young woman told me the creme filled one is also one of her favorites so I'll definitely come back to try that one next! The mini tiramisu was so cute and delicious, great flavors of espresso/coffee in there and delectable. Overall, it was a good experience maybe I'll try a latte next time, instead of a matcha. read more

As soon as we walked in the staff was so friendly. They were especially welcoming to our dogs and brought them out pup cups! It's nice to bring our dogs in while we are on a walk and feel welcome. My husband and I came by before church to grab breakfast, and it was so so pleasant sitting outside on a late summer weekend. Truly like a dream come true. Stopped by for an early lunch over the weekend. The place was not very crowded inside and only one table filled outside yet it took nearly 20 minutes to get two sandwiches. Their prices have gone up and I don't think the food quality is as good. It said on the menu inside the cafe the sandwiches come with a side salad but the Hoboken chicken salad one apparently does not. $12 for just the sandwich seems like a lot, but it was very tasty. The panini came with a small side salad - after 20 minutes the chicken was cold. Things have definitely changed since they first opened. I prefer Alessios over here. read more

Nice cafe in Hoboken but not the nicest staff. Pros: they have a variety of choices on their menu that all look delicious. Unfortunately I only got to try the small sugar cookies with sprinkles and it was firm (in a good way) and good. Reasonable pricing. Cons: I came here with a friend and the kids we watch so they can have a small snack and use the bathroom on a very cold day. Upon coming in one of the staff members gave us a very rude look, like she did not want us there. It was very off-putting. The other staff member assured us it was okay we were there and was very nice. Came here for a quick latte during COVID, as I've been wanting to try this place since they opened. They have so many beautiful pastries, I ordered a rainbow cookie and 2 skim lattes to go. Sometimes I pop in for their perfect coffee and a biscotti treat. This week I took my mom there for a sit down lunch and she had the Cobb Salad and I tried their panini - chicken with fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, and pesto...yummy! Both dishes were generous in size and presented nicely. They also have great outdoor seating with plenty of space with a large awning to escape the heat of the sun! The staff is friendly too but what I really love is that they have great hours. What I love the most is that they do not skimp on any pastry filling. I've tried the lobster tails and chocolate croissants and both were stuffed with filling! I ordered their Parma sandwich for lunch today (takeout) and it was delicious! Fresh mozzarella and prosciutto on soft focaccia. The sandwich was larger than I expected. You can have both breakfast and lunch here. They also have desserts if you are into that. I tried the quiche which was pre-sliced behind the counter. I guess they heat it up once you order. It was still pretty good. I also had the mediterrenea salad. Good portion and fresh ingredients. Delicious. My coworker tried the panini and enjoyed it as well. I would probably try the chicken salad on a croissant next time. It looked awesome. They also have a gelato stand in here if you are feeling crazy. Service has gone downhill ... I placed an order online with TOAST and they didn't even have it ready in time when I came to pick up the food 30 minutes past the time I was supposed to pick up. This is usually the case with food not being ready for pick up or they "accidentally forget" to make something which I why I come later than usual. But yet had to wait another 10 minutes for them to actually make just the plain lentil soup I ordered which was probably microwaved. The girl who was working today was also just casually eating cookies in the front and proceeding to touch other food. Not a good look for Dolce. Let's try this again another day. I am glad we passed on living at the Rivington because I would go broke with this across the street. Instead of going every other day, I would be here every day. 5 stars for authenticity. A classy new addition to uptown Hoboken. Great selection of classic pastries, paninis, coffee and gelato. It has an authentic Italy feel as the gelato flavors are only in Italian. I'm cool with that because it takes me back to my days in Florence and amazing gelato and cappuccinos. Food is pretty good - if you get it on time and the order is correct, which is never the case here. The staff is not engaged and doesn't care if they make a mistake. The past three times I've gone there have been issues. Most recently I went in to order the Hoboken (chicken salad sandwich) and I waited a half hour with my dog watching people that orered after me get their food. I finally said to the staff member, "what happened" and he gave the usual bs of oh the kitchen is backed up. Then he goes - you got the "x" which was NOT what I ordored. I told him that's not what I ordered and I can't wait any longer for my food. He didn't apologize or seem to care at all.
