Tried the pizza, chicken parm and meatballs! Yum yum yum! Place is really cute has a lot of old charm. Thursday is trivia night so we had fun while dinning. Would go back and try more.

Update to my prior review, which was for takeout. Our 1st experience dining in was fantastic. We dropped by for an early Sunday lunch at around 11:30am and, as we had expected, it was very quiet inside of this old school bar/restaurant. There were just 2 other diners sitting together and that was it. Our waitress, Colette, was awesome. She was super nice and attentive throughout our time here. We ordered a large regular/cheese thin crust pizza and a single open slice steak sandwich. The pizza was even BETTER than the first time that I came here for takeout, mainly because it was hot out of the oven and sooooooo fresh. There really isn't anything better than a super fresh pizza right out of the oven. As advertised, the pizza was very thin and crispy and, honestly, absolutely PERFECT. As good as a bar pie will ever get. The open slice steak sandwich was also GREAT! The steak was juicy, flavorful and tender. It came with a small salad and fries and I actually really enjoyed the small salad, which came with their house dressing. And the fries reminded me of Nathan's fries. Overall, this establishment is AWESOME. I'm sure it gets crowded during peak times on weekends, but if you're seeking a low-key, quiet environment at a restaurant that serves ridiculously good pizza, Lido's the perfect spot on weekend afternoons.

We came here for some pizzas and were disappointed in the service and food. The servers all had attitude and sass, which was surprising. The pizzas were alright but very oily and not as crispy as we thought they would be.

    Gotta try the pizza!

There's a reason this place is as old as the pay phone in the lobby! The dark mob style restaurant makes you feel like you're on the set of the sopranos. The open face steak sandwich is award winning and pretty sure won some award in 2025 again. It's been somewhere I've been coming with my family for years and it never fails, the bar pie is incredible as an app but the open face steak sandwich is where it's at. If you're in the area worth the try!

After packing and loading up all the handcuffs and stuff from the 2025 NY-NJ Police Collectors Show Dave Cavaliere and I headed off to nearby Hackensack for a visit to the iconic Lido Restaurant. Lido, which has been around since 1956 still retains that nostalgic, old school, family owned bar & grill vintage vibe, even after being renovated in 2028. Famously known for their thinny thin pizza (8.1 on the Portnoy scale) and their legendary thinly sliced, open faced steak sandwiches, you know this was on my mind. I love throw back, divey, retro style joints and Lido's certainly fits that bill. Lido's small but full bar, leather booth seating, and vintage decor creates a warm, cozy, tight, and welcoming atmosphere, and the service was fast and friendly (thank you to our server, Madison). We ordered the small pie as an appetizer, and it met all expectations. Very thin and crispy crust, good sauce, no flop, and crunched in you mouth when taking a bite. Simple, but very tasty and satisfying. I could easily consume a whole pie myself. Next time I go back I probably will. Definitely a thumbs up ! It also went well with a couple of ice cold beers. The open face steak sandwich was also a hit. Thin slices of juicy, tender, flavorful steak over a thin slice of bread, and covered with a nice sized portion of perfectly fried french fries. It also came with a side of cole slaw, (you have a choice of soup, salad, or the slaw) which was so good it tasted like a dessert. Great stop, good food, you should give them a visit. The only negative is that parking in the area is difficult, but you can't have everything. 04/13/2025

My wife and I are pizza lovers. So we enjoy trying out viral pizza. We decided to try Lido since it got an 8.1 rating by Barstool. However, we were very disappointed and did not believe this pizza deserved an 8.1. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great.

The pizza here is really good, super thin crust and flavorful. The white pie is a must, cheesy and garlicky. The sliced steak sandwich is a must as well, we added the sautéed onions but that's optional. The steak was soft and flavorful, and the bread was good too. The sangria was really good too! Our server was nice and took care of us quickly. The restaurant does get crowded but service is fast. Can't wait to go back!

Thin crust pizza was so good, not greasy. Staff is nice. Would definitely come back here again.

one slice of the cheese pizza - 15/10

My family and I have been coming to Lido Restaurant for over 30 years. The sliced steak and cheese pizza are the absolute best. We recently celebrated my grandfather's 100th birthday there with a bunch for family/friends. Keven and his team were so lovely and helpful. The food was delicious, and we were well taken care of it. Whether your party is big or small you should plan to have a celebration there. The pricing was very reasonable, and everyone had a great time.

The capellini is a blend of primarily angel hair and sweet sausage. Simply add a touch of parmesan cheese and you'll be in heaven. I usually eat cheese filled ravioli with marinara sauce, but the chef put an excellent twist to this dish! The food preparer has given a new meaning to ravioli by altering the filling and the sauce making it tastier. On a slightly constructive note, I enjoyed the tartufo but it's basically a pricey version of a Klondike bar with a cherry in the middle. However, their cakes are out of this world. The tres leches and chocolate mousse has the perfect amount of sugar and consistency. Sweets like these are the reason why there are two "s" in dessert; you'll always crave seconds! From appetizer to dessert, you'll dine like a king in a suburban palace. Be sure to go the full distance with a three course meal! #italianrestaurant #njfoodie #ravioli #calamari

The red sauce and shredded parmesan cheese went well with the main and the side. The chicken parmesan is served with mixed vegetables. Substituting the veggies is not allowed, so I ordered a side of pasta for an upcharge. Although I enjoyed this meal, the minor drawback is the substitution policy. In my personal opinion, I feel that pasta is the ideal side dish for any CP entree. Vegetables should not the side dish unless I'm ordering chicken marsala or chicken francese. Otherwise, I was still satisfied with the food, service and overall ambiance of the restaurant.

The menu isn't massive, but they cover every category with extreme precision and do it really well. Seafood, pasta, veal, chicken, and all the classic appetizers you can think of from stuffed artichokes, zucchini blossoms, and house-made burrata. The ambiance is old-school Italian in the best way: timeless, romantic, and cozy. It works just as well for an intimate date night as it does for a small group dinner. Bonus points for being BYOB. We ordered the veal marsala and the seafood pomodoro. The veal was pounded to perfection and swimming in a ridiculously addictive sauce. The seafood pasta was cooked perfectly and loaded with fresh shrimp, clams, and mussels and you can taste the quality and care put in the food. Meals are served with a salad to start, and you can expect to spend around $35 per entrée, which feels more than fair for the quality. We were genuinely impressed and were treated with a lot of attention throughout the meal. The concept of the restaurant being run by two italian twins was honestly so sweet. Highly recommend if you're looking for classic Italian done right without trekking into the city.

We went on a Wednesday night around 7PM and while there were a good amount of people dining we were able to get a table right away. We ordered the burrata to start and it was delicious. It was served over oranges and with walnuts which seemed like odd pairings to me but it just worked. I love burrata. It's always pricey, but I'm a sucker for it and will likely order it every time. We got the skirt steak, octopus, Pizza al Tartufo, and Diavolina pizza. Everything was fantastic. The skirt steak was cooked medium rare as ordered and it was served with some greens. It wasn't mind-blowing, just a good skirt steak. I would probably skip this on a return visit so that I could eat more pizza. The octopus was cooked perfectly as well. It wasn't tough and chewy and it had a nice char to it. It was a pretty large tentacle served with an arugula salad. The salad had a citrusy dressing on it which was refreshing. I really enjoyed the pizzas. We went with a white and a red pizza. THe white pizza was topped with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and black truffle oil. Everything went well together and the truffle flavor wasn't overpowering as it sometimes can be. The red pizza had hot sopressata, fresh mozzarella, and grana padano. The sopressata was actually a little spicy which was different from the white pizza. Both pizzas had a great crust with just the right amount of char. It was firm enough to hold up the sauces and toppings but had enough give in it so that it didn't have the texture of cardboard. Service was friendly. The place had a nice cozy feel to it. It's pricey but I'd definitely come back.

He had to call over another worker to double check and we had to ask once again if we were able to get it redone to our liking before even getting it replaced right away. The second porterhouse we received was done correctly and was seasoned well and had enough fat to make it buttery and melty. Espresso Martini was made well and for Whiskey Sours, if you like them on the smokier side, I would recommend it. We arrived right when they opened (perfect timing, especially with a snowstorm expected later that day), so the restaurant was still quiet. The space has a modern, upscale vibe that definitely feels suited for special occasions. It's located on a busy street, and while they do offer valet, we lucked out with free street parking since it was early. They offer a prix fixe brunch for $39 per person, which includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. It's a good way to experience the restaurant without committing to a full dinner price point--but be aware that quite a few items come with upcharges, and drinks are not included, so the bill can climb quickly. I do have a gluten allergy, and I was honestly surprised by how limited the gluten-free options were for a restaurant of this caliber. That said, I made it work: I started with a Bellini, had the sizzling slab of bacon as my appetizer, the recovery burger (no bun sub roasted potatoes as a side) as my main, and finished with the salted caramel gelato. Everything I had was enjoyable, but I would have appreciated more flexibility in the menu. The rest of the group (no dietary restrictions) had more variety to choose from and really enjoyed their meals, which is always a good sign. Service was attentive without being overbearing--likely helped by the fact that it wasn't too crowded yet--so we were able to relax and actually enjoy conversation, which made the celebration feel special. The restaurant also has a private back room that looks great for parties, plus a downstairs lounge area, which adds to its appeal as an event space. Overall, for me it's definitely more of a special occasion spot, and while the pricing is on the higher side for what you get, brunch feels like the best way to experience it. I'd come back again--but probably stick to brunch.
