This location has several private spaces, with modular walls that can convert to accommodate parties of all sizes. We've attended functions of all kinds here, and each time, we left feeling completely full and sated. For a chain, Maggiano's punches well above its weight class with its mix of ambiance, service, and generous portions of dependable pasta-centric dishes. The food is surprisingly decent for something that's cooked and served in such volume. My favorite entree from my most recent visit was the chicken parmesan. I don't know how they achieved it, but the cutlets somehow stayed crispy under the load of hot red sauce and melty cheese. The service is fantastic. Every time we've rented out a space, the staff were readily available and attendant to our evolving needs throughout the event. The all-you-can-eat part of the catered events is a major plus. When our table raved over the fried calamari and quickly bulldozed our shared platter, we only needed to ask for a refill. Minutes later, our server came by with a plateful of freshly fried calamari. I immediately spoke with the Manager who was amazing he ensured we were seated immediately and taken care of immediately. Our waiter Raphael was also amazing. Started with the bread and then shortly after 2 salads and appetizers of calamari and wagyu meatballs came out. Our table was so full of food already as we were 5 guests, they brought 2 plates of everything to share. It was definitely enough food for us 5 and then some. Everything was delicious! We were getting stuffed. Jermaine offered us containers as the entrees were about to come out. We packed whatever was left and they cleared the table. The entrees were brought out and OMG it was quite the spread. 2 giant bowls of pasta in vodka sauce and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. And 1 platter of baked salmon and another of steak medallions. Shocking. This is not the service Maggiano's is known for nor the service we have experienced in the past. What happened here? A turnover in management??? What we and others experienced this day was a consequence of very poor planning by Management. There was a banquet going on in the back room and Management seemed to have sent most of the staff back there. Absolutely, the banquet folks need to be taken care of but NOT at the sacrifice of not serving your regular dining area with equal excellence. Both sections are equally important. In fact, some would argue that the main dining area is more important as that is where the daily business is at. The point is both areas should have had quality service. We in the main area did not have that. Our section was severely neglected. Our waiter was nowhere in sight. Food was very delayed as well. We come to find out later that our server was not a waiter at all but a bartender. So this bartender was coming back to our area only when he had a free moment. This was NOT FAIR to him and to the customers. It also took 15 minutes or more to get our check. We would have gladly left with a free meal. We started to wonder is that what we were getting as the check didn't come for an eternity. Lastly, the Linguini Di Mar was awful this day. Shards of broken shell pieces in the dish. My dad had to keep spitting out his food. What in the world?! This dish used to be broken shell pieces free and more balanced in its seafood makeup. Now it's 80% mussels with broken shell pieces. On august 10, 2025 I scheduled a reservation on open table for this restaurant which it wasn't my first time going but my second. The first time we went I guess we got lucky and got good service. Today when I walked in I was greeted by my waiter which didn't even bother to bring me out bread and all the other tables sitting had bread. When it was time for the appetizers I ordered some fried mozzarella which came cold and with some type of soggy cheese on top, and the Caesar salad which the croutons were stale. Besides that experience we decided that maybe the food wouldn't be bad. When our food came out my wife didn't even touch her steak she cut it through the middle and told me it was over cooked which the temperature I had asked for was medium well. When I told the waiter he immediately sends out the chef to question me about what's wrong and he answers," it looks medium well to me I can't help you guys". Which I proceeded to ask for the check at this point I didn't even touch my food. The service here is disgusting for the price they're charging and the management is ran extremely poorly. Maggiano's has gone down hill in recent years. They used to have the best chicken parm. Two large scaloppini cuts of chicken- fried to a gorgeous golden brown. It was always tender and juicy and you could cut it with a fork. Nicely dressed with their terrific sauce and topped with flavorful provolone cheese - perfectly melted. Last year- all of the stores got lazy and the chicken was not thinly sliced or pounded thin. They claimed it was because people complained the chicken was dry. Considering I ate there at least once or twice a month and always got chicken parm- I never saw that. Every time I went in in there over the last year- I was able to get them to pound out the chicken. Now this isn't difficult- they have a rolling machine to this. But you have to special request it. I was living with it. However this summer I get an email - Maggiano's is launching their New Grand Chicken Park with Mozzarella. Well I had it twice now. Both times they agreed to pound the chicken, but they had now provolone to swap with the mozzarella. When it came out both times- the chicken was good, but smothered in sauce with a small round slice of mozzarella on top. The sauce was lukewarm warm and the cheese barely melted. This has happened two times now. There won't be a third time. On top of all this- they got rid of their take one home pasta entrees. For years if you got an entree- you could also buy one to take home for 5.99-8.99. Well they got rid of this. Plus- the price of entrees had doubled over the last 10 years. Even with inflation- it shouldn't cost that much. It's a shame Maggiano's has gone south. They have now lost my business forever. read more

However, I'm deducting a star because they discontinued the $5 to-go pastas, which was a fantastic deal and something I looked forward to. When our waiter informed us they were no longer available, the manager--who happened to overhear our conversation--came over and kindly explained that Corporate made the decision to discontinue them due to the high labor costs and low profit margin. While I understand the reasoning, it's still a bit of a letdown for loyal customers who enjoyed the convenience and value. That being said, the service is consistently excellent, and despite this minor disappointment, I'll continue to love both the food and ambiance of this restaurant. As an appetizer we got the fried calamari which was great and as entrees I got the shrimp scampi and my wife got the chicken fettuccine, my shrimp scampi just didn't really have much flavor whereas my wife's chicken fettuccine tasted better then mine. I have ordered here before, and I keep forgetting the Fettuccine Alfredo is very bland, I don't know what it's missing, maybe more garlic. I ordered the holiday carry out package and it was a good deal for all the food you get, but there was some parts of it that were lacking. I NEVERRRRR EVERRRR give chain restaurants 5 stars (OK I might have a few times in the past, maybe), but our experience at Maggiano's in Hackensack was the definition of a perfect experience. My family and I decided to come here for a Tuesday afternoon lunch and it was relatively quiet at the restaurant, which was what we were hoping for. The restaurant itself was quite large inside and had plenty of tables, but during our time there, there were maybe 5-6 active tables only. My wife and I had already done our research and reviewed the menu prior to us going to the restaurant so we already knew what we were going to order when we sat down with our toddler son. The menu was easy to comprehend and, if anything, was actually kind of similar to Olive Gardens, but to compare Maggiano's to an Olive Garden would do Maggiano's a big injustice (although I love Olive Garden too). The menu consisted of your classic Italian starters, salads, standard pastas (served with a protein), sandwiches, lunch combos (for lunch only obviously), specialty pastas and classic pastas. Honestly, I didn't really know the difference between the standard, specialty and classic pastas, but the items in them all sounded good. Since this was sort of a casual, celebratory meal for my wife, my son and I, we decided to go all out and get a few starters and pastas (and I'll get to dessert a little later). To kick off our meal, we ordered the Crispy Zucchini Fritte (aka Fried Zucchini) with Lemon Aioli and Stuffed Mushrooms - Spinach, Garlic, Breadcrumbs. First, let me say, both were DELICIOUS (and you're going to hear that a lot). The Fried Zucchini was not exactly what we had imagined, but instead even better. It was served as 6 hugggggge slices of fried zucchini with a side of tasty Lemon Aioli. Honestly, I had never seen Fried Zucchini served in this fashion, but it worked, and it was crispy and fried perfectly. Do I need to say anything about the Stuffed Mushrooms? I rarely have met a Stuffed Mushroom I didn't like and this was no exception. Once again, really good and there were 6 pieces in the order. Do I wish that there was more? Absolutely! For our entrees, my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala served with Mushroom & Marsala Sauce and Spaghetti Aglio Olio. I, on the other hand, had the Chicken Parmesan served with Provolone & Marinara Sauce and Spaghetti Marinara. Both were EXCELLENT. As expected, the portions were large and take home worthy, but the flavors were very, very ... VERY good. If I had done a blind taste test, I would have never thought these entrees to have been served from a chain restaurant. Although we were stufffffed to the gills, as I had almost finished my entire entree, we managed to find some space in our stomachs for dessert. All of the desserts sounded really good and there was a 5 for $13.99 sampler ($4.99 for each individual dessert), so we thought "What the hell, let's go for it!" The Mini Dessert Sampler with Tiramisu, Gigi's Butter Cake, New York Style Cheesecake, Creme Brulee, Apple Crostada was the icing on the cake, star on the tree, whatever you want to call it, but it topped off our meal perfectly. EVERY SINGLE dessert was soooooo good. I thought we didn't have much room for dessert, but we finished every single one in the sampler! And you might think it's just a sampler, so the portions are small for the dessert, but nope, they were all a decent sharing size. I can't even pinpoint which one was my favorite because they were all so delectable. I seriously thought each one was amazing. As you can tell, we really, really, reallllllly loved the food at Maggiano's. Each item was perfect and my only gripe was I wish we had even more. I'm usually not a "go crazy on dessert" person and it's usually not the highlight of a meal for me, but the dessert sampler really WOW'd me. Oh, and service was fantastic. Our waitress was the ONLY waiter working that afternoon, so she was running back and forth between 6 tables, but not once did she forget anything or seem flustered. Everything was great we made a reservation got to the restaurant on time! We didn't have to wait too long. The ambiance was super inviting. It still gives that timeless restaurant feel . Our hostess was very nice and attentive . The food was good but we were super hungry so I didn't get much pictures of our plates ... but we had the crabcake appetizer, the cheesy garlic bread and then for our main course we had the carbonara with lobster and the steak. Decided to try out this place for lunch . Got the chicken Parmesan sandwich, comes with fries and a pickle. It was $14 and change and available M-F lunch hours . You definitely get a very filling meal. And it was tasty as well. I thought the bread would've been hard, but it was not. Only think really lacking is cheese, otherwise it would've been a 4 star review. I would've loved mozzarella cheese on top, like a good portion of it at least . read more

Well - I'm giving up on Maggiano's. It used to be one of my favorite places, but after the menu changes and price hikes...I just can't do it anymore. They took off some of my favorites from the menu. The items that are still there have dropped in quality and increased in price. Even the service has dipped in quality. We stopped by Maggiano's for my birthday dinner and had a great time! Spacious and cozy with great family style Italian feast is what they're known for and I come by at least once a year for special occasions because it just feels good to celebrate life's milestones with loved ones with abundance of great food on the table, you know? We ordered from the special holiday menu which was more expensive at like $45pp but I insisted... cuz it's my birthday and I ain't buying! Haha, but for real, it had specials like Salmon with Crispy Calabrian Shrimp, Stuffed Mushroom appetizer, and so on. We started with Prince Edward Steamed Mussels and bread which is just the right way to start your Italian feast, quickly followed by pasta and entree. My favorite is Rigatoni D, though most in my family think it's too heavy in cream and too salty. I say that's why we've got breads! Salmon w/ Shrimp was really good and was quickly devoured by all at the table. I love the Maggiano salad - it's almost thirst-quenching and really breaks up the heavy Italian fare with acidity. Chicken Parmesan was kids' favorite - my two toddler nephew/niece enjoyed gnawing on those. And I really like their Mushroom Ravioli al Forno which is also creamy and a bit heavy-handed on salt... but if you're savory food person like moi, you'd be right at home - just have your seltzer water ready! We finished the meal with tiramisu and chocolate cake which were surprisingly good! Only thing was that it was a week or so before Christmas and they had a LARGE birthday group coming in taking up half of the dining area which made us quite nervous re: Omicron ... and the server said we have to vacate within 2 hours due to demand. She was apologetic though we understood, and offered to give us a few gift certificates as token of apology. We were beyond stuffed and had literally 3-4 meals' worth of food for 2 families.
