So last night we ordered a delivery of fried calamari and a large thin crust pizza with 2 toppings a total of $53.00. What a disaster. First the calamari... under cooked, ice cold, greasy, one big clump with the breading falling off. I tried to reheat it but nothing helped it. Had to throw it out totally couldn't eat it. Now for the pizza. Ask for thin crust w toppings. What we go was ice cold pizza not even warm it was COLD. The pizza "bones" so thick & hard you would need a saw to eat it. Flavorless. If you're going to offer delivery then do it right. I feel like I just handed over $53.00 for nothing. This is definitely a no go for me. read more

Perfect, Perfect, perfect experience! I came here on a Friday night at about 6:30. This restaurant does not take reservations as I attempted to call 2 days earlier. When we walked in it was pretty crowded and the host has said it may be a 20-minute wait. I said no problem because I did not want to go anywhere else. I was eating dinner this evening with my daughter and my wife and I didn't want to spend 20 minutes looking for a different restaurant. It was a good move to say. Yes, I will wait because we only waited about 7 minutes until a seat became available. I always say if a restaurant is packed it's because it is good. While I was standing there with my beautiful wife and daughter, a gentleman came up to us and struck up a conversation. He worked at the restaurant and started talking about the Yankees because my daughter was wearing a Yankee Jersey. Talking about how he goes every year to see a game, it was a nice pleasant talk while we were waiting. After we we're seated. We got complimentary bread. It was four pieces of focaccia bread with butter. It was probably the most tastiest bread I've ever gotten at a restaurant in my recent memory. We easily ate those four pieces while waiting for our first course. This place is BYOB so my wife immediately started working on her wine while we looked at the menu. We ordered the spicy mussels and clams dish for appetizer and I ordered the long hots with potatoes for appetizer. My wife got the grilled octopus while I got the squid egg pasta with seafood. My daughter is very simple and she just ordered spaghetti and a butter sauce. The decor was very nice. Not too fancy but definitely not run down. The place was loud but it was a crowded Friday night. This restaurant does numbers as not one table was empty. Also seems like it does very well with to-go orders. For Friday night they were definitely slinging the pizzas. I was very impressed with our appetizers. The long hots and potatoes had such a beautiful flavor. I could just take a bath in that sauce. My wife and daughter really enjoyed the muscles and clams in a red sauce. And it wasn't too spicy for them. When our entrees came out we were ready to eat. My wife asked for another order of bread to go with the meal, the bread was that good. My dish tasted fantastic, All the seafood tasted fresh. Came here with my friend on a Friday night. We actually stumbled upon this place by accident while we were getting drinks nearby. We noticed that there was a line to be seated and since I was in the mood for pizza we gave this place a shot. Once we entered we put our name down with the host and mentioned it was a 20-25 minute wait. We went to the nearby liquor store to kill some time. Once we were seated, they served us water with complimentary bread with butter and the bread was buttery and yummy. We started with caprese ($16) which was fresh and tasty. For our main we got the linguine with clam sauce with white sauce ($25) and the clams were delicious and the pasta itself was flavorful. We also got the chicken parmigiana pizza pie ($25) and that was solid as well especially the dough. Came here for lunch while traveling for work and had a delicious meal! They have a cute front patio and two dining rooms inside: one with a great view of their pizza oven! Had it not been 11am and me needing to stay awake for work, I would have totally gotten a pizza because this baby with authentic. Having said that, I didn't skimp on the carbs. I got one of my favs: orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe. It came in a heaping portion with a light olive oil sauce - made to perfection! The nice server also accommodated my annoying ask for oil/vinegar dressing instead of Caesar. Love her. Definitely a cute neighborhood spot and would definitely return. We've been ordering from Amici's Restaurant for quite some time, but unfortunately the quality of the food has been on a steady decline while the prices continue to increase -- and the two simply no longer match. Yesterday, we placed a delivery order totaling over $80. One of the meals was specifically for a guest who cannot have dairy or cheese. We clearly ordered a plain buffalo wrap with no blue cheese, along with French fries. When the order arrived, the wrap had blue cheese inside it and, instead of fries, came with a salad. We called the restaurant to explain the issue, but the person who answered the phone seemed unable to understand what was wrong with the order. After several attempts to explain the problem, she finally said she would get the manager, Rosario. What happened next was completely unacceptable. As soon as Rosario got on the phone, he accused me of threatening him, saying, "So you're going to come down and kick my a**," even though those words were never said by me. He then added, "You know where I am," which only escalated the situation further. Upset by the accusations and the way the situation was being handled, I went to Amici's with the incorrect wrap to address the issue in person. When Rosario approached, he made gestures as though he wanted to jump across the counter at me, and the interaction quickly became heated. Rosario then retreated toward the back kitchen area, and when I went around back to continue the conversation, I was met by several employees who threatened to call the police. I left the store, only to be met outside by local police officers, who thankfully worked to de-escalate the situation. professionally. At the end of the day, this all started because a simple food order was made incorrectly -- including ignoring an important dietary restriction. Instead of correcting the mistake and handling the complaint professionally, the situation spiraled into an unnecessary confrontation. Between the declining food quality, rising prices, repeated order issues, and now this experience with management, we will not be returning. read more

WOW! I can say this place is well worth every dime and minute we spent. Great friendly staff and amazing food. Everything we had was fantastic and authentic: margherita pizza, different pasta, mussels, calamari, rice balls - you name it, they have the best. As a large group I appreciate their ability to easily accommodate and provide great service. Interior is decorated nicely, with a few italian funny phrases on the walls which made us laugh. My father often comes here and brought my husband and I here for the first time last night. We met the owner and he is just truly fabulous. I knew this place was going to be great the moment they put the bread basket on the table. I actually was stunned by how great the bread was, I could literally sit there and dunk it in olive oil all day. For apps we decided to get the broccoli rabe and sausages along with a margarita pizza. The pizza was fantastic! Wood fired, light and beyond delicious. The broccoli rabe and sausage was ok, I felt the broccoli rabe could have been softer and the meat quality for the sausage could have been better. For dinner we all got pasta, I got the Linguini in a white Clam sauce and the pasta was cooked to perfection and the clams were plentiful! We sat outside for dinner since it was a nice night, I just felt like the service outside was a little slow, my father said it is much better on the inside. Absolutely loved our meal here yesterday! This place is not only serves amazing food but the energy is so energetic. From the hosts, to the waiters and servers everyone was so nice. The Zuppa Di Pesce -- shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari in a light tomato sauce over linguini -- was outstanding. The seafood was fresh, the sauce had the perfect balance of acidity and flavor, and the portion was generous. The Tagliatelle with shrimp and mushrooms in Alfredo sauce was rich and comforting -- creamy without being too heavy, with tender shrimp and earthy mushrooms in every bite. And the surprise star -- the penne vodka pizza with breaded chicken. Pasta on pizza might sound over the top, but here it works perfectly. I don't really eat fish much but I was talked into the salmon here and I'm glad I tried it. It was broiled so that it was nice and brown on the edges but still moist inside. The broccoli rabe was chopped nicely so it wasn't overcooked. The roasted potatoes were okay. I would have given this 5 stars but the service was disappointing. There was a party and once it came time for them to cut their cake, our waiter forgot all about us. We couldn't get his attention to get a container for our leftovers. Someone finally brought us one but he still didn't come back to ask if we were done or wanted the check. We had to ask someone else to get him to bring it. It should never be that our waiter gets entirely distracted and consumed with another party. Mind you two other people were delivering the pieces of the cake as he cut them. Our "go to" for solid Italian. Four and a half is more accurate rating. The restaurant itself is popular so it's usually noisy, crowded and not comfortable for a dinner out. However, the food is quite good, reasonably priced and worth it, so we usually opt for delivery which is prompt, accurate and delicious. Chick parm, eggplant parm, pasta with sausage and broccoli-rabe, lasagna are favorites. Prepared well and packaged in tins which we prefer to plastic. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated right away by the window and was given their house made bread. I don't know how they made this, but there must be some crack or something in the bread because we must've had three more baskets of it and it's nothing you've ever had before especially at a pizza and pasta style place like this. The owner came over to us and explained that the dough he used for the bread is the same he use for the pizza! It was nice of him to come over and introduce himself and tell us about how the restaurant came to be. We ordered a Caesar salad and escarole and bean soup for starters both were good. We ordered two personal pies, one was the nonna and one was the penne vodka. Both were very good however they do serve brick oven pizza, which we wish we got to try, but will be back again for their brick oven pizza! We went at 5 pm on a Saturday and the place was busy. The ravioli (5) were served on a large flat plate and the sauce was a plain marinara and bland. The bread on the table, I would guess was pizza dough, and had a course salt seasoning. My husband had chicken franchise over angel hair pasta with a lemon butter sauce and he also said his dinner was not well seasoned. Good warm, soft bread, yummy! Grill Octopus - I was a little worried because octopus could get really gummy. But this was crispy outside and tender inside yummy! Parpadelle Fungi - I love mushrooms, and this had 4 kinds, yay! So good! My only comment is that the mushrooms were chopped up, so I could not tell what kind I was eating. I would have liked larger pieces that show the different mushrooms. Pork Marsala - this was delicious. Usually, it's chicken, so I love that this was pork. The food is very good although it is more expensive than its competition nearby. Large menu with many options including some very interesting Signature pizzas ( personal & large) such as the: --Palermitana 12" pizza made with San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Onion,Spicy Sopressata, Ricotta & Honey or the --Norm's Big Sexy 12" pizza made with Sausage, Broccoli Rabe, Homemade Mozzarella & Parmigiana Dishes like the Penne Loren: chunks of chicken breast sauteed in a wine & butter sauce over penne pasta with broccoli & sun-dried tomatoes is one of my favorites and a big portion, or the --Bucatini Amatriciana which is a thick spaghetti with a classic fresh plum tomato red sauce , onions & pancetta topped with romano cheese & basil..another favorite of mine. We love the food and the owner, Rosario, is very friendly. The quantity of food lets you know you will have leftovers. My nephew says the Sunday Gravy tastes just like his Nonna used to make. I want to start off by saying for a Tuesday night this place was rocking! Rosario came out to greet this table of 4 co workers who had never been here before now . What a ball of energy he is and so friendly and entertaining! I always order the meatballs if it's on the menu and they are truly the best I've had .
