Grumpy's has quickly become one of my go-to spots for takeout in Saddle Brook. The sourdough pizza was outstanding. The crust had the perfect balance of chew and crispness, with a great flavor that sets it apart from your average pizza shop. Every slice held up well and had just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The wings were another highlight, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The fries arrived hot and crispy, which is always appreciated when ordering delivery. What impressed me most was how quickly everything arrived. The food was fresh, well-packaged, and tasted like it had just come out of the kitchen. If you're looking for great pizza, quality wings, and reliable delivery, Grumpy's is definitely worth a visit. Finally got to try this place out after my friend told me about years ago. They don't have any pizza pies on display but they do serve slices. I got the Hot honey heaven slice which consists of tomato base, pepperoni, crispy chicken, ricotta and Mike's hot honey, really good. Parking is limited. I heard there is a parking lot across the street ;) * 4.5 stars

We had a great experience with Grumpy's! The sourdough pizza was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. We loved trying different specialty pizzas, especially the Hot Honey Heaven and the Triple Threat. The Garlic Parmesan wings, cheesesteak, and sourdough garlic bread were all excellent, and the fried Oreos and churros were the perfect way to finish the meal. Great quality, generous portions, and plenty of options on the menu. We'll definitely be back to try their famous square pizza!

I've seen this spot pop-up on my socials a lot recently, so I decided to place an order on a day I had errands around this business. First off, I did a call-in order (very 2000s, I know). I could tell the business was very busy, but I was so surprised that despite being surrounded by the "crazy" she was doing her best to suggest what she liked and then after speaking a bit, what I might like. She was very helpful and considerate despite me calling during the "lunch rush". I came into the business --- small but efficient space --- and it was a quick transaction. My kind of place. As I was eating for 1, I didn't want to be a true "big-back", new year, new resolutions. I just got a 10' Neo Margherita Pizza + Parmesan Peppercorn Bone-In Wings. So the thing that makes Grumpy's stand-out and different from the competition? Boy oh boy, that crust. It is sourdough, it is crisp, it is light, it is so complimentary to anything that goes on it. I truly understand the hype about their pizzas --- and I truly can't wait to try more from their establishment. On to the wings; I ordered the Parmesan Peppercorn Bone-In Wings, simply because it's a flavor I don't see too regularly on the menus. It was exquisite; I could only imagine how much better it would've tasted fresh from the fryer. I had a 15 minutes drive until I had eaten the food. So the food-fluencers are not lying about this place. Check 'em out --- an awesome business ran by awesome people.

Definitely get any pizza and absolutely the creamy buffalo wings. Idk what they put it in but hands down top 5 wings I've had. Theyre juicy and seasoned very well. I think I liked the wings over the pizza more The crust on each pie was great. I did like the hot honey meat lovers but I think it was too much honey for me. My family loved it. My go to for sure would be the wings and jalepeno pie.

If you like thin crispy pizzas, this is the place for you! They don't skimp out on the toppings, and I love the extra basil they give as well. You can go for classic pies like Margherita or heavy, loaded ones like the Garbage Pie. I also like that you can customize the level of crispiness and the crust flavors. I'd love to try the square pies and see how the sourdough tastes different or similar to the regular pies.

Probably the best pizza I've had in a very long time!!! My son & I were on the way home from his private school entrance exam and as a treat I told him we could get some pizza. We came here and there were a ton of people waiting for their orders. A few chairs along the window, but it's definitely a take out place. It was about 7:45 when we arrived and they told us it would be about a 30min wait for our order. They were not grumpy at all, very nice in fact! We waited in our car. The time came, we went back in, waited about another 5min and our order was called. I wish they were closer to where we live!!

I was a victim to social media marketing on a Saturday morning as I scrolled through my TikTok and saw that Dave Portnoy reviewed this place a couple of days ago. I was intrigued by the sourdough aspect to this place and decided to stop by. We got the regular cheese and the drunk chicken parm, both personal pies (they don't do individual slices). Now I'm sure they've gotten so popular after Dave's visit (rightfully so), and we waited about 30 min for our pizzas, and even got to meet the owner. Definitely worth the wait!! The drunk chicken parm was so flavorful, deff my favorite flavor. Would love to taste my way through the rest of their options!

Thin crust pizza. Very different unique taste. Reminds me of Ralphs pizza in Nutley. I thought it was very good. 2 small slices and a water. 8.00. Little pricey . Sign of the times. It was good.

This was ordered and delivered. It was hands down the best tasting pizza, sandwiches, and salads I have had in a long time. Everything was perfection. Huge portions, fresh, and so so delicious. I almost want to not recommend it so I can have the place to myself!!

All I can say is this pizza was to die for. I just kept eating slice after slice after slice. I've been trying to order here for weeks, but they're always so busy and now I understand why. Can't wait to try their other menu items, but it will be hard to deviate from this delicious hot honey heaven pizza

Pizza on sourdough bread? Count me in. Grumpy's Pizza looks to be the place everyone likes to hang out in SaddleBrook. You walk in and you feel you are part of the family. Small scale, a lot of love built in to this place with a lot of creating happening between the dough behind the glass or the sauces being assembled to the side. It's a good kinda busy to walk into when you are waiting. I ordered The Grumpy Pie. After reading the framed articles by the window, I didn't know the owner liked the order too. I thought it was pretty cool. My husband ordered his pie and a side of wings. My Grumpy Pie was flavorful. A little too much sauce for me, however if you love burrata, you gotta try this out. I love having sourdough and thought it was neat to try it with pizza. I see why customers love it here. All payments accepted, slightly cheaper with cash. Parking can be tricky, choose your spots and read all signs. What a delicious night, be back next time!

What an incredibly amazing Pizza place! Old school! No it's not fancy in there but you can grab a slice and eat at a counter. The owners and staff are friendly as can be and most importantly, this is without question the best pizza in New Jersey. Beautiful crispy crust, not like a cracker like a pizza crust is supposed to be! Sourdough. Outstanding delicious sauce that is full flavored without being acidic and without being sweet. Their ingredients are great their Pizza is crazy good. I had three different kinds today and will be getting many more in the days and weeks and months to come! If you haven't come to this wonderful place you need to!

Our waitress Lily was prompt with getting us our drinks... excellent Cosmopolitans, & Aperol Spritz's. Our appetizers were all excellent the fried calamari was perfect and the sauce was heaven!! We had the clams casino and the zucchini fritti everything was scraped clean. The warm bread with oil and slaw was a perfect touch and nice combination!! Our dinners were all delicious not one complaint. I had the Veal Saltimbucco which I've never had before and it was delicious. Around the table was Chicken Saltimbucco with linguine (Al dente) with garlic & oil, the Pork Chop special was a huge portion, Cheese Ravioli with shrimp & spinach in a vodka cream sauce, Linguine Vongole in white sauce overflowing with clams was polished off, and the Linguine Frutti Di Mare Fra Diablo was a creation!! Everything was plated exceptionally please look at my pictures to see!! We also had two Tarfufo's and a cappuccino!! The atmosphere was amazing with a live singer at the "Shoe Shine" Bar that you could hear well into the restaurant. I've heard many great things about this restaurant and am so happy I finally was able to visit. The owner Sammy is on another level, one of the nicest most genuine owners I've ever met. My step mother loved the red sauce that came with the calamari and to her surprise he came as we were leaving and gave her a good size portion of the sauce to take home!! That's what I call hospitality!! We all left full and very happy. I think this may my new favorite place because when you tie everything in atmosphere and good food you really cannot go wrong!!

There's just something about them that you can't recreate. Yesterday, my buddies and I were supposed to hit The Belmont Tavern, but they were closed for the week. Rather than scrap the plan, we pivoted to Matthew's Italian Restaurant at the suggestion of one of the guys in the crew. What a great find. We were pleasantly surprised that an old school spot like this had somehow escaped us all these years. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for, the staff was awesome, and most importantly, the food delivered. We came out swinging with Clams Oreganata, Meatballs, Stuffed Mushrooms, Mozzarella Carrozza, and two different types of Ravioli. Needless to say, the table filled up pretty quickly. For dinner, most of the crew went with either the Veal Parm or Chicken Parm. A nice touch is that they'll do the parm with vodka sauce if you want to switch things up. I went with the steak special and had absolutely no regrets. Dessert was on point too, but I'll leave a little something to your imagination. Great food, great service, great old school atmosphere, and exactly the kind of Italian restaurant I'm always looking to discover. Matthew's is officially on our list now. We'll definitely be back soon.

Located on the busy West Pleasant Avenue in Maywood, my partner, our friends, and I decided on Amici's, translated from the Italian meaning "friends." Upon arrival for some of us as first-timers at this family-owned BYOB neighborhood establishment, we were greeted by the staff and got a table for 5 inside one of the dining rooms by the window for a celebratory dinner. Outside dining is available, weather permitting. Their menu features authentic Italian staples such as wood-fired pizzas, classic pasta dishes, and homemade comfort food. As appetizers, we decided on the Rice Balls with vodka sauce. For our main meal, we opted for the Flounder Francese, Eggplant Parmigiana (one with spaghetti and another with linguini), Paccheri with Seafood, Roma Pizza, and Tossed Salad. Some meal accompanied by a side salad. Complimentary bread began our meal. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. One can tell they take pride in their ingredients and preparation. The pasta especially deserves all the hype, rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions were healthy and suitable for a second meal. The prices were reasonable. The owner, Rosario, would personally visit each table for small talk. The entire staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our experience special; our server was Dawne. So, the next time one sits down to eat, take a moment to appreciate the experience. Savor the flavors, yes, but also relish the connections that form across the table. In a world that sometimes feels divided, food serves as a reminder of our shared connections. This is exactly how a business needs to be run; therefore, we highly recommend Amici's to anyone looking for true back-home dining.
