I in the area and had a taste for pizza, why not. This place stood out. Rolled in with a large group. The staff was cool, pulling tables together so everyone could break bead. Now let's get to business, the food. To kick things off, wings (sweet chili and hot honey), Garlic knots and Calamari. The wings sweet chili for the win. The pizza both Meat lovers and Pepperoni were both amazing, full of flavors. The meat lovers was my favorite. Everyone was starving and ready to eat, but you can't rush GREAT food so I won't complain about the wait time. Overall it's a good spot and I would come back.

We wanted to try a new pizza spot. Wahizza, from its original from Washington Heights, New York. It is a Dominican - Italian inspired food. We ordered the Margherita pizza and the Hawaiian pizza. Both personal pies. For our appetizer, Fried Calamari was our appetizer. We ordered the Orange soda from the Restaurant too. Fried Calamari, came with a sweet, chili sauce and marinara sauce. The calamari didn't taste as fresh - We were wondering could this be frozen before preparation? I love Margherita pizza. It was the first time I had pizza with sesame seeds on the crust. Sorta different, not sure how I feel about it. The pizza was too oily, more basil could be added, the sauce was not as strong as compareable as to other Margherita pizza. We tried this place, not enough to come back for another time. Some menu items are on a bit expensive. Wahizza is your local neighborhood place, comfy and clean. Service was attentive, parking available around Ridgefield park, all payments accepted.

It wasn't until after we dined here that my husband and I learned that Wahizza Pizza had its shining moment in the social media spotlight for their unconventional offerings. Personally, I'm happy I was ignorant to the hype because I think it would have left me disappointed. Wahizza prides itself on fusion pies that incorporate ingredients and flavors familiar to a Dominican palate. Since we were clearly newbies, we asked for recommendations at the counter and ended up ordering the classic Wahizza pizza, which comes topped with chicken, cabbage, tomatoes, cilantro, corn, onions, and their chimi-sauce, which seemed to be some sort of a mayo-based sauce. See what I mean about unconventional? Never would I have thought to put cabbage and cilantro atop a pizza pie, but it was delicious. We loved the combination of flavors and felt decently light after polishing off an entire pie, maybe because we hadn't consumed the usual bread-sauce-cheese trio that we would've had at another pizzeria. My slight misgiving was in calling this a pizza. As a native Northeasterner, I have stereotypically strong opinions on what makes pizza good, and if I were craving a true blue pizza meal, I'm not sure the chimni pizza would've quite hit the spot. That said, the more traditional pies are offered here, and I'm looking forward to giving them a try in the future. Inside, the restaurant is homey and comfortable. Orders are placed at the counters, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that servers will regularly swing by your table to check in on you and ask if you need anything.

Just checked out Wahizza with a couple of friends. Ordered eight wings, three pizzas, and three desserts and it was the perfect amount of food. We received excellent recommendations from the friendly and helpful waitress. The restaurant was clean and modern, with cool decor. The chimi and oxtail pies were our favorites but the third was good as well. The wings were nice and crispy and they provided two different dipping sauces. The desserts were tasty. Guava cheesecake was our favorite.

When I lived in Washington Heights, I absolutely love getting the sandwiches from the Chimi trucks, now all this pizza has ground beef instead of shredded chicken it was just as good tasted like home to me! But they have so many gems there besides that yummy pizza you also have to try the oxtail wish the owner himself makes every single day. Oh my gosh, so tender so delicious. The server is there a super friendly, and let you know the pizzas going to take a few minutes to make, but came out very quickly nonetheless! All the decor is super adorable the feels of a pizza shop with a Dominican flare, you guys have to check it out!

Came to Wahizza originally for the Yelp Elite event and was beyond impressed that I had to come back! No food is kept out like most pizza places. Everything is made fresh and to order and wow it makes such a difference. Their pizza is a nice thinner crust. I am obsessed with their margarita pie and garlic knots. So obsessed that I refuse to share my margarita and always order my own! So much flavor and freshness. The garlic knots are the perfect amount of crisp. They just hold in the heat so wait a little before digging in! Service is friendly and efficient. Unless you catch them at a busy time but even then I've never waited more than 20 minutes for my food.

This is one of the best pizza place I have tried with all honesty. Visited here with the family as we noticed this spot is super trendy in social media. I have to say that the pizza here is A++. What an amazing flavors and presentation. The owner "junior" was extra attentive. The spot is small and gets crowed really quickly, was this is more than a pizza spot but an experience. Definitely family friendly. These guys take good pride on their craft. If you want to try pizza but with a Dominican twist, you must come here. The chimi pizza live up to its hype. Keep up the great work guys.

I had been wanting to try the Oxtail pizza for a while when I used to pass the Edgewater location so I traveled to Englewood. I ordered the oxtail pizza and it was delicious!!! The crust is thin with a sesame sprinkled crust and it was so good that I even ate every single bite of it, which is unusual for me. The oxtail was so flavorful and rich with the cheeses (mozzerella, Parmesan and goat cheese), meat, hot honey and spinach. The ladies asked if I wanted cilantro on top, which was the perfect add of even more flavor. They were so sweet and welcoming. Parking in downtown Englewood can be tough but I took the side street behind the row of stores and found the back entrance to Wahizza. I'm not sure if that's allowed but it made the pizza pick up a very quick and convenient experience. I plan on eating in next time bc the inside was so cute and looked very comfortable. I am definitely coming back. read more

We came here after a World Cup soccer match, looking for a restaurant instead of eating at the mall's food court. The food was good, although a bit overpriced for the quality. Most of the staff was very friendly and welcoming, especially the manager. We arrived about two hours before closing and asked if we could sit at the bar to watch the next soccer match after the hostess told us there were no available tables. What was confusing was that the same tables that were empty when we arrived remained empty the entire time and were still vacant when we left as the restaurant closed. Overall, the food and most of the staff were enjoyable, but the experience at the front of the house could definitely be improved. read more

Really good change of pace pizza if you're looking for something different. Tried their chimi which came out to be about $30. It's a heavy pie and very tasty, I didnt know what to expect. Flavors of meat and spice and everything nice. Worth a try for a different kind of pizza along with the classic offerings. read more

I hate to do this to a restaurant, but I have to do the review based on my real experience. We went in during the week and I was really excited to try Wahizza after seeing the fantastic reviews for Dominican pizza. We went to the Front, were not greeted by the person who was going to take our order, but shrugged it off and ordered. I wasn't in the mood for pizza, but my husband ordered the Chimi pizza and I ordered a Chicken Parm. We were the only people in the restaurant. We then sat outside to wait and eat our meal. 30 minutes later, we had not yet heard anything about our food or seen the woman inside who took our order. I went inside to check on the status of the order. She said it would be out soon. About 8 to 10 minutes later, my chicken Parm came out, but still no pizza. She said it was coming. About 15 minutes later the pizza came. I took one bite of the chicken Parm and it just was not good. When the pizza came, we just asked for a to-go box, because at this point we had been waiting for an hour for our food. The food did not look appetizing at all, my husband took a bite of the pizza when we got home, and shook his head "No." We threw it out at home. We threw out both the chicken Parm and the pizza. I'm not sure if the spot was having an off night when we went, but we will not return. Also, the lady at the front and the cook went back and forth regarding orders he was preparing, which was not professional in front of customers. Total Bummer! read more

Stopped by this place after seeing some promotions for it and I was not disappointed. First off it's a really nice restaurant albeit small. The place was packed! I figured it was gonna be good because every table was full and the walk ins never stopped. I spoke with the owner and he was a very nice guy. Recommended the Chimi pizza and that was definitely appreciated. As far as the pizza goes it was very good. The chimi pizza I will definitely be back to get again. It was full of flavor, great crust, and loved the sauce. Tried the Hawaiian pizza as well, this isn't a favorite of mine but I loved the sesame seeds on the crust. Everyone who tried it who likes that type of pizza liked it. The garlic knots were also outstanding. I will definitely be back here to try some other items and have the chimi pizza again as well. I saw people eating the wings and they looked great as well. The service was excellent and friendly. A must try if your in the area. read more

Expect to wait close to an hour for your food to then come cold to the touch. Pretty nice and busy place but there was only one tiny oven and again they forgot about my order leaving me sitting there for an hour. read more

Must try! We finally tried this pizza place after seeing so many posts on social media. We had the oxtail pie and chimi pie. The staff was absolutely friendly, the shop is clean, and the pizza...wow. The chimi pie is delicious, perfect amount of sauce and toppings. If you've had a chimi this is just like eating a chimi but on a pizza crust. A crust which is perfect, thin and crispy. The oxtail pie is a must have. The oxtail is tender and seasoned to perfection. The cheese and toppings are perfect! I'm an oxtail fan and definitely wish there was more oxtail on there but that's just me being greedy lol. This spot is great and I'll be back for sure. read more

Went here twice to try the chimi pizza and the oxtail. The service was great, and they were very accommodating to our party because their space is limited and I appreciate that. With that being said as much as I loved the chimi pizza I have to say the combination of all the ingredients made it a bit salty for my taste. Couldn't pin point what was it that made it salty, and wish I could to see if you could taste it too. The oxtail pizza was on the opposite of the spectrum. The oxtail itself was very sweet. Oxtail should not be sweet. I urge to please revisit the recipe as the rest of the flavors on it were delicious. read more

This pizza absolutely blew me away! I ate the five cheese pizza and was very impressed. Every single bite was a different taste as I didn't know what cheese would be in each bite. There seems to be a lot of options for vegetarians but I'm glad I chose this particular pie. The service was very nice and it was nice to eat in the store. Very clean and all-around good atmosphere. I would absolutely be back to order the same pie or try many of the other options. read more

Amazing food, service and ambiance. Came in just to try a slice after lunch since we were visiting family and friends but ended up having a full meal and it was so delicious. The staff and the owner Junior were so hospitable and friendly. The chimi pizza and the oxtail pasta were amazing. Junior even gave us the pasta on the house after my husband said he wanted to try it next time. Great location and amazing food. Hope they expand to California. The service was dope! The staff were really friendly and helpful! Both pizzas we ordered were delicious. I was a little skeptical about the oxtail because the Combination of oxtail, ricotta cheese and honey sounded crazy but it was official! The chimi pizza was also dope because it tastes just like a chimi and the crust of the pies have sesame seeds on it just like an Italian loaf of bread. What I didn't know was the establishment is located in a communal space with a bar and other food choices like a food court. Overall great food and great experience. read more

Ok I'm from New York but was driving my truck through this area and decided to grab a slice from this place due to all the great reviews. I end up getting a margarita pie since they don't do individual slices. With the reviews i had high expectations for this place but the pizza didn't really do it for me. It wasn't bad just wasn't all that. I had better $1 pizza's than this honestly. But the service is good and the inside is also kept clean and nice read more

The chimi pizza is the best !!! Its made fresh to order and it has to perfect amount of crips ! It has a small eating area but its super comfy and accommodating to our large family. I've been looking forward to this new place opening up the next town from us. It was our first time so we decided to try 2 of their pizzas. It says they are famous for their chimi pizza so had to try that and also decided to try the Dominican pie. Both we quite good - lots of flavor. Different than other pizzas for sure. The crust is like Italian/sesame bread - very yummy. The orange sauce was REALLY good. All the flavors work well together for a very flavor packed pie. This is a really nice place with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Place was packed, and they only had 2 slices available for purchase; Fig & Bacon. Sold !! Took em to go, with 2 cold sodas. My Lord. What a stellar slice. Second time we had the NY Style Cheese with a side of wings. Delivery. The pizza resembled those $1.50 slice shops you see in NYC, usually next to a parking garage. But not as good. As for the wings...Stick with the pizza. Third time was on a Friday around 5:30. Placed an order online, {their website}. One Margherita pie, to go. It was wonderful. Thin crust, bright and vibrant flavor. Perfect cheese to sauce ratio. They even through in some extra sauce. One day, we'd like to dine in and try the "Edgewater Pie" My only gripe, they don't take orders over the phone. Not sure why. However, they called me while I was trying to find a parking spot.

The shrimp were large and there were about 7. The shrimp came in a butter sauce (plenty to put in your pasta if you enjoy that) but they didn't taste soggy at all. The price was reasonable too. The order also came with a free piece of bread and butter. Very tasty.
