Best pizza I've had in a minute. I ordered a meat lover's pizza and it arrived on time and still hot. The crust was crispy and held the all the meat toppings. Everything tasted fresh. The sauce didn't have that tin can taste to it. Cheese was pitch perfect. Not oily and cheap. The buffalo wings are actual buffalo wings and didn't taste frozen. Nicely balanced sauce. Good amount of cheese. The muscles in red sauce were the best I've had in a while. I find the medium sized mussels are the perfect size for flavor and a tinge of sweetness. I loved this place as a high school student. It was a small walk away and had memorable pizza by the slice. When they renovated, the prices went up a but the taste was more or less as good. Well after those days, when I found myself passing through that side of town, I'd make an effort to stop by. Last winter, we ordered a grandma pie for takeout, it came back exceptionally hard and not pleasant to chew. Sometimes mistakes happen to the best pizzerias, so we called in to see if we could get a replacement. The woman on the phone checked with the manager or chef on how to proceed, and offered us a new pie if we bring the old one in. I guess they wanted to trust but verify, so I fished the pie out of the trash and we drove back. When we arrived, the woman working the counter was sympathic, but the chef overheard and came over. He emphatically exclaimed that he didn't believe it. We asked that he try folding a slice. When he did, and the slice snapped in half, making an audible crack. This was my first visit to LA Bella Roma Pizzeria. It was a Saturday at 12:30pm. Slice choices are limited to four selections. I settled on the chicken bacon ranch and the caprese. I had hoped the Bella House Special was available as a slice. Oh well. I enjoyed my meal while watching ESPN on the extra large television which isn't shown in some of the older pictures.
