Best pizza I've had in a minute. I ordered a meat lover's pizza and it arrived on time and still hot. The crust was crispy and held the all the meat toppings. Everything tasted fresh. Nicely balanced sauce. Good amount of cheese. The muscles in red sauce were the best I've had in a while. I find the medium sized mussels are the perfect size for flavor and a tinge of sweetness. ( better than those big greenish ones that can be a bit fishy). The red sauce served with it was "on the money". AND there was a good amount of them, Plenty for 2 people. I loved this place as a high school student. It was a small walk away and had memorable pizza by the slice. When they renovated, the prices went up a but the taste was more or less as good. Well after those days, when I found myself passing through that side of town, I'd make an effort to stop by. Last winter, we ordered a grandma pie for takeout, it came back exceptionally hard and not pleasant to chew. Sometimes mistakes happen to the best pizzerias, so we called in to see if we could get a replacement. The woman on the phone checked with the manager or chef on how to proceed, and offered us a new pie if we bring the old one in. I guess they wanted to trust but verify, so I fished the pie out of the trash and we drove back. When we arrived, the woman working the counter was sympathic, but the chef overheard and came over. He emphatically exclaimed that he didn't believe it. We asked that he try folding a slice. When he did, and the slice snapped in half, making an audible crack. After a moment, in frustration and anger, he proclaimed that was how grandma pies are and that our next pie would be the same. The woman refunded us the cost, and we left. read more

I grew up going to La Bella Roma, the pizza kept us coming back from Morris County and my sister's family in Massachusetts coming back whenever they were here. Tonight we stopped after being in the city and what a business disaster! The pizza seemed different, the sauce seemed the same but the personnel? This was my first visit to LA Bella Roma Pizzeria. It was a Saturday at 12:30pm. Slice choices are limited to four selections. I settled on the chicken bacon ranch and the caprese. I had hoped the Bella House Special was available as a slice. Oh well. I enjoyed my meal while watching ESPN on the extra large television which isn't shown in some of the older pictures. The fairly big slices were good as one would expect with an emphasis on the chicken. I had also ordered the Roma Special Hero which I ate later at home. Nov 30th , last night .. we went inside to dine. For the very first time . We sat down and received menu's , the waitress said, the prices on the menu are wrong and disregard them . We ordered a slice of pizza , and a Stromboli filled with cheese and pepperoni. The table : no fork and knife , no napkins, no glass, no ice . We had to get our forks/knives and cups, napkins. We got 2 X to set the table. We DID NOT rush the Stromboli, When the Stromboli was placed onto the table ... "it was raw", uncooked pizza dough inside, cheese was cold, pepperoni was cold. We told the waitress, and showed it to her , we did not rush the order.. we only got a sorry, well this point we told her , we will take it home and continue to cook it until , it's ready to eat , so we do not get sick . Blindly we paid , $22 for a 2 slices, UN cooked/raw Stromboli, soda. We will never will go back. Very poor experience for first time customers. read more
