- Spacious dining room with plenty of seating and comfortable, old-school vibes, complete with red-and-white checkered tablecloths and Tiffany-style hanging lamps throughout - Small, tight parking lot in the back with designated spaces for diners; there was a steady stream of takeout customers, while the dining room remained relatively quiet on a Friday evening - Service was cordial, attentive, and efficient throughout our meal; the young waiter was quick to greet us and take our order - The food was solid overall: the tossed salad was generously sized with plenty of toppings; the buffalo wings arrived with the sauce on the side--a nice touch for the kids--and were crispy, juicy, well-seasoned, with a tangy, spicy sauce; the special pie was loaded with toppings, but the pizza could have used more time in the oven; the toppings definitely needed more heat to bring out the flavors and the crust was too soft and flimsy read more

THE FOOD ------------------ + Tossed Salad - Small salad with lots of lettuce, onions, cucumbers, olive and tomatoes. Lots of Italian dressing, which we reallly appreciated and made it good. + Buffalo Wings - 8 really crispy and delicious regular wings with a side of verrrrry "buffaloey" buffalo sauce. + Special Pizza - Pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, sausage, green peppers on a large cheese pie. Pie was OK and could have been cooked a bitttt longer for a crispier crust. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + Waiter/teenager was quick with taking our order and courteous. + Salad, wings and pizza came out quick and shortly after we ordered. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ + Old school feel inside with red and white checkered tablecloths and even an old school NYC pizzeria-style menu above the counter. + Lots of tables inside and a few outside. + Very easygoing, casual, local atmosphere inside. + Private parking lot in the back, but it's tight and they only have a few spots dedicated to the pizzeria. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- + Came in on a Friday evening at 5:45 and there were customers coming in and out, but never close to capacity. read more

We enjoyed the pizza here with the kids. It's got this old school pizza shop vibe that also elevates the experience. I got a cesar salad with chicken as well as had a slice of pie, the salad was good, a little sad in presentation but it's a pizza joint, can't blame em! I wouldn't rave about this spot as the best pizza i've ever had, but it definitely gets the job done and I really liked their sauce. The service at the desk is a little sus. We had a little spill and it was like rocket science to ask someone to assist lol. But whatever, not going knock them too hard on it, could have new workers or an off day. The kids liked the atmosphere and pizza too. It's a cozy little joint I hope stays around for even longer than its been there. We'll be back. read more

Renato's Pizza - I've always wanted to try this place. Amazing vibes. Will report back with a review shortly - Pizza Near Me - Ridgewood, New Jersey

Best Pizzeria in town, we always order our lunches from this place for our entire office team.. I highly recommended. Dr Rezvani loves their grandma's slice read more

I have been going to Renato's for 14 years not only do they make great pizza but all their dishes are amazing. All their dishes are quality Italian food . This is a five star restaurant! read more

I walked in order a slice of pizza with anchovies. And two minutes I got my slice. I picked it up from the plate and it literally broken in half so much oil and extremely thin crust and I picked it up at the counter .....they didn't say anything as I said out loud "wow this pizza is so thin".... horrible. read more

Food is OK, service is fine as long as you don't have an issue, we have been customers for about 23 years and never an issue , except once it looked like someone punched my hero, most recently we had a sour cheese issue , we tossed the dinner in the trash, i called and basically was told im a lliar , imagin after 23 years as a customer, we have spent lots of $ in 23 years ,would it have been a hardship to receive a revised order that may only cost them $7. just lost a customer good by . read more

I rate it one, only because the person who took my pizza order was as uninterested as it gets as far as customer treatment. Curt...cold...no conversation...I don't understand why the attitude. I doubt that I'll ever order from Renato's again. They're just downright rude. Martha P. read more

The food here is very good. What happens? The peacea has a crispy crust with a taste that delights. The eggplant rollertini and the eggplant parmesana are delicious. Their tomato sauce has an authentic taste. read more

This review is simply for their pasta. Let me start with saying I enjoy their grandma and Sicilian pizza. The Chicken parm with spaghetti was horrendous since the chicken was days old. And the watery sauce that was barely poured on the under cooked pasta. Also ordered the penne vodka with breaded chicken and that was unfortunately worse. The pasta was dry even with the little bit of vodka sauce that it had. ( maybe they ran out of everything since it was New Year's Day). Could be they were just trying to get rid of their old stuff from days ago but I will recommend they don't try that again. The outcome was 2 horrible and inedible dinner plates and a 1 star. I could have done better ordering from a chain or the airport kiosk. read more

Just picked up a pizza at this restaurant for the first time.....Fantastic. The crust is perfect and the toppings generous. It's easily the best pizza I've ever had. Now I know what I've been *missing* while buying pizza from other places. Will definitely be back again for another pizza in the near future. Highly recommend. read more

I would spend a lot more money at Renato's if you'd, you know, have some pizza ready around meal times. Your chicken parm slices are great, but you never seem to have them available between 6-6:30 PM when I'm getting home from work. I even call in advance sometimes, and often it's, "No, sorry." On at least four occasions recently I've made other plans when I really wanted to give you money for pizza. I'll try again soon - let's make it happen! read more

Has to be under new ownership , the guy working the counter wouldn't look at me , make eye contact , just staring at his phone . Charged me 10.50 for a slice and a soda . Told him that it was wrong , he said I asked for two slices , which I didn't . Super rude and nasty. Won't be returning . read more

Service needs major improving. I ordered 3 slices from the glass showcase which had toppings and the man in the front fills up the boxes with the 3 slices I ordered plus 3 plain slices that I didn't order and tells me I owe $21. I told him that I only ordered the 3 slices with toppings and that I didn't even know he had plain slices since they weren't displayed. I guess they keep plain slices tucked away in the back. He grunts very loudly and says "YOU SAID 3 PLAIN, COME ON AMIGO! NO YOU SAID 3 plain!".... at this point I was completely baffled at the bad customer service. Definitely not a way to speak to your clientele. read more

The food is okay, (not the right way to waste 8 bucks on a slice) and the service is absolutely horrible. They talked to me in an attitude and threw my pizza on the counter and refused to heat up the pizza, eventually they warmed it up read more

Worst pizza ever. So sad. No tomato sauce. Ordered mushrooms-no mushrooms. No basil on it. Pizza delivered & left outside for 30 minutes in frigid weather no doorbell rung. Manager extremely rude, sarcastic and blamed DoorDash . Had to call DoorDash & got partial refund. Why doesn't Renato take responsibility for its bad pizzas?? Probably too complacent. I've been using Renatos for years - with satisfaction. The manager very sarcastic when I said this is not the usual quality. Time to use another pizza place. read more

Love Renato's and love their pizza, chicken parm, fries, Wings are amazing Restaurant hadn't opened yet (half hour before opening) but the owner said he would put a pizza in for my kid. Very nice people. Would recommend :) read more

Great pizza just walked out and devoured my meal first time coming great people and bilingual To accommodate for others! And the vibe is so cozy feels like I'm in a family house for real for real on god! Coming again read more

Ordered a chicken Parmesan sandwich, unfortunately the chicken was like chewing on rubber but the sauce and cheese was good Lol , I did tell the worker behind the counter read more

My favorite spot in all of North Jersey for a pepperoni pie. Regardless of your topping preference, the X-Large has the perfect ratio of cheese and sauce to crust. Appetizers are a win as well, particularly the mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. No fountain beverages but ample selection of bottled drinks. Friendly staff and only a few minutes walk to the heart of downtown Ridgewood. read more

my husband and I ordered from here for the first time in years tonight. My husband ordered a Salami and Provolone sandwich with extra cheese. It had ONE slice of salami and 2 slices of cheese. Never saw anything like it and won't return read more

Being born and raised in Brooklyn, I never get my hopes up getting pizza anywhere other than NY. To my surprise, this place is great! Fresh and delicious pizza. Also, if you're a crush snob like I am you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend! read more

Renato's Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Ridgewood, New Jersey

It's all about Grandma's pizza. Simply the best in the area

Terrible owner- he makes it tough for his staff who try so hard. He has definite issues and projects them onto his customers, its honestly hard to watch. Pizza is okay on a good day read more

The owner in this place has a personality of a social mutant. He acts like he is doing you a favor by selling you pizza. Besides that they complain when you use a credit card. They specifically want cash. Something is going on with this place. Be careful read more

This place should not be classified as a Pizzeria only as there are plenty of good options for pasta and based dishes. The mussels are delicious and the food is always fresh and tasty. Highly recommend! read more

I have been hating to write this for a while now. I few months back I ordered a white pizza with spinach take out from Renato's Pizza. After getting my family and I started eating the pie but was able because of the nasty spinach stems so I bought it back and I was told that's how they always do it and they didn't offer to fix the problem. So now we don't go there anymore. It sucks because in my opinion they have the best Grandma pizza in town. read more

Tried Grandma pizza this trip based on other reviews and was not disappointed. A variation on a Sicilian pie, with a thinner crust, plum tomatoes, mozzarella and spices that I ate often as a kid in NYC in the early 60's and more recently in Nutley (Bel Paese). More like a cheesy Focaccio than traditional pizza. Very nice crispy crust with great flavors, but a bit greasy from the abundance of cheese and olive oil. Less grease would make the Grandma one star better. As usual, the service and value are hard to beat. read more

I'm mainly into grandma pies lately. Was glad to see that Renato's offers a variety of this. The Renato grandma spans about 2/3 the space of an average pizza box. The pie a solid performer, with highlights and some drawbacks. It hits the spot with its seasoning and flavor. The drawbacks is that the dough is slightly chalky, and breaks up in your mouth like a cracker. Though more can be had, you won't go wrong with Renato's grandma pie. read more

I used to work here. I quit because I saw the owner drop a plate of pasta on the kitchen floor pick it up and serve it. The health department needs to shut them down. read more

Just tried a slice of grandma's and plain pizza, so good, reminds of NYC pizza.. yum!!

Great pizza spot! Their Grandma slices are especially good. The staff and their owner are always very nice. Very happy to have this quality establishment in my neighborhood read more

So just to be clear the one star is for the service and tip adjustment from $5 to $15 on the bill after I signed it. The food we ordered was good, and came in a timely manner. The young lady who was providing service came off as extremely annoyed, and unwelcoming..... It's disappointing that a local place that has parking and decent food makes people feel uncomfortable in asking for any service. To top it off, they had the audacity to change the tip amount on the bill, adding $10 to a $40 bill. That's completely dishonest and I will never return there again. Make sure you check your credit card statement after dining there. read more

The best Grandma's pizza, anywhere, even Brooklyn. A go to. But their dinners are excellent too - chicken Francese is awesome.

I've been coming here for years. It's definitely hit or miss. I love a good Margherita pie. Tonight it was like cardboard with a very little sauce, too much cheese and very little basil. I've had it before and it was the best I've ever tasted. Wish they could be more consistent! read more

Best pizza in the area for their square grandma pies. So good!!! The red patched table clothes and old world style pizza brings back memories of my childhood. read more

We stopped here after golf at a local course as we are looking for a pizza place to eat. We ordered grandma's pie and we're not disappointed. Definitely will go back! read more

I have been here. Itallian original pizza. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Foods prices are reasonable. It's good environment for the eating and having a chat. Only thing is lack of beverages read more

This is a great little (cheap) BYOB place to pick up a pizza or have a basic pasta with bolognese or vodka sauce with garlic bread. We like to bring a inexpensive medium red and relax over a quick meal. I also like their Grandma's Pizza-not too much cheese. read more

Use to come here as a little girl and was honestly surprised to see that it's still here. Located just off the main strip in Ridgewood, it's the perfect location, lacking the burden of ridgewood meters. Pizza is great Sure, it's not comparable to Amano, but this is New Jersey...is any pizzeria truly bad? read more
