I stopped in yesterday afternoon to get 2 rolls and an order of mozzarella sticks for the football game, as I had a few friends coming over. Located in a busy strip mall with a liquor store and a food store, the place was hopping yesterday at 12 noon. I ordered 2 rolls, one meatball one chicken parm and the chef explained that they make them fresh and it will be a few minutes. I liked the fact that they gave me that expectation before hand, a great move for customer service. I went next door to get some beers and some other things from the food store. I went back 10 minutes later, and he was boxing it up for me. The chef was in constant communication, asking how I wanted them cut and asking about my dipping sauces. These guys are really on their game. The rolls were delicious and jam packed with filling. The dough was never doughy or chewy but crispy and a vessle for the filling. The meatball roll was fantastic and the meatballs tasted almost as good as my Nonna's. They were flavorful and moist. The chicken parm roll was also good, and the chicken was cooked to perfection and juicy. The mozzi sticks were flavorful and perfect pull factor with the cheese. walked in a few minutes past opening time. Place was open you could walk in as well as stated online as open. Owner Freddy states theyre not open he comes out very rude and aggressive. Exploded out of no where and stated he opens whenever he wants. Approached me right in my face threatening to beat the shit out of me. Stated I quote "if it was not for this pussy ass state if fuck you up you little bitch". This was all said as I was leaving the place he continued to follow me and threaten me outside. instable manic depressant. This is the owner Of your friendly local pizza place. Mangia undoubtedly has the best pizza in the area. Great crust, and cheese! Not only the pizza but everything on the menu is amazing, they got a wide range of options and everything is terrific. It does have a thicker crust than your typical pizzeria but the crust was crunchy, while still remaining soft and airy. This may be the best pie I've eaten in a while, especially since the structure had the integrity to hold up all those toppings - it wasn't soggy at all, like a lot of pies with that many toppings tend to be. We did eat it at the pizzeria though, fresh out of the oven, so that probably helped. Prices are reasonable too. A regular slice is only $3. I'm just sad that we don't live closer. We just happened to be in the neighborhood running errands and we found Turvino's. If I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely going to check out some of their other pies. Didn't bother asking for our name or address, no offer to remake the pizza or fix the issue in any way. Mistakes happen, and we usually give local businesses the benefit of the doubt. What bothered us most was not even the burnt pizza, it was the complete lack of customer service and care for loyal customers. A little professionalism and empathy would have gone a long way. I think management should know that some customer service training may be needed. Sadly, after this experience, we won't be ordering from here anymore. Called the App and was told they are only going to give a $5 refund because it looks like they ate a slice... incredible.
