We ordered a pizza and eggplant last night. Both were great and prompt delivery. My kids can eat two slices each and everyone in the house always loves their pizza. First time trying their eggplant and asked for an appetizer portion. Was great!

We ordered a meat lover's pie and mozzarella sticks. The sauce is nice and fresh and the crust is the perfect mix of traditional and thin crust. There was chicken cutlet inclu8in the meat lover's...a hearty pie

Veggie pie, hold the peppers. Apparently it means hold everything else too... cheese barely melted. We won't be ordering from here again.

We stopped ordering from here a while ago because the pizza just wasn't as good as other places. But we got a gift certificate and figured we might as well try it again. We ordered a medium veggie pie without peppers or mushrooms, and got a bland, undercooked pizza with onions and a little bit of spinach on it. No tomatoes, no olives, and barely any seasoning. The pepperoni pizza we ordered for the kids was also anemic looking, but at least the cheese was more melted than the veggie pie. It was a good reminder on why we stopped going here, and we won't be returning.

After our last pizzeria burned us, we decided to support another local business by not cooking. The pizza here is super thin crust which makes it exceptionally delicious. They deliver and pre-COVID had dine-in. Maybe they'll have it again one day. The mushroom pizza was robust but the Sausage was kind of skimpy. I'd definitely get mushroom or Margherita next time. How could I not love a pizza place right next to a liquor store?

10/10 Vodka pizza, service is quick and the store has nice seating areas! I also recommend the regular pepperoni or the tortellini Alfredo.

Ordered Margherita pie for delivery. I'm always weary of doing that, but it was delivered with care and tasted amazing! :)

Crust is amazing. Perfect ratio of cheese to sauce. Old school style. Mom n pop feel. My favorite pizza in the area.

The first sign that something felt a bit off came when the hostess--who mentioned she was the chef's wife--presented the specials. She only described appetizer specials, including, somewhat oddly, guacamole and a Greek appetizer. Different, but not necessarily a dealbreaker. Since no entrée specials were mentioned, we assumed there simply weren't any. The menu is huge, not in offerings but rather the shear size of the menu was overwhelming. We were served bread, which was mediocre, and decided to order the stuffed zucchini flowers and burrata to start. Both appetizers were good. However, we were surprised to find that the bill reflected $22 for just four zucchini flowers. I don't mind paying for quality food, but that felt excessive--even for Ridgewood. We also initially received the wrong appetizer, though it was corrected quickly. For our entrées, we had the veal Milanese, which was decent, though slightly over-fried. Later in the evening, when a nearby table was seated, we overheard the dinner specials being described and realized there had, in fact, been entrée specials available. Unfortunately, we were never told about them, and some of the dishes mentioned sounded like options we would have considered ordering. There were a couple of aspects we didn't enjoy. First, the chairs were extremely uncomfortable. Although they appeared upholstered, they essentially felt like fabric stretched over wooden blocks--not ideal for sitting through a meal. Second, while the waitstaff was pleasant, it was difficult to get their attention for things like drinks, and the restaurant seemed understaffed. On the positive side, the hostess was warm and personable, even taking photos for guests, which was a nice touch. As the evening went on, however, the restaurant became quite loud. For a Tuesday night, we expected a quieter atmosphere, but it felt more like ladies' night out.

We were…read moreseated right away and we were offered a tasting of zucchini's fritters as a welcoming offering (desperately needed as we had a long drive to meet friends there). The hostess (& owner) was terrific as were all the servers. As for the food... it was outstanding! We had the tagliatelle, tortellini special, scallops and pork chop special. All were served hot and were all delicious. If we didn't live so far away, La Lanterna would be a go to restaurant for us. Now, unfortunately, it will be only when we see our NJ friends. (We may need to see them more often!) Bravo!

I came to Bottagra in Hawthorne on a Tuesday night for a girls' night out after a friend insisted I…read moresee their famous Christmas decorations--and wow, they did not disappoint. The décor is over-the-top festive and stays up through the end of January, which makes it a fun post-holiday outing. They're even already taking reservations for December 2026, which says a lot about how popular this place is during the holidays. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which wasn't surprising since it was pretty quiet after the holidays (I've heard December is a totally different story). The restaurant has a main dining area along with smaller dining rooms, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed--great for conversation. This would also be a really fun spot for a Christmas party. Service was friendly, though it could have been a bit more attentive. Our food took a little longer than expected to come out, especially considering how uncrowded it was that night. Food-wise, I had the espresso-crusted hanger steak, which was decent. I'm gluten-free and appreciated that there were some options available, though dessert for me was limited to ice cream or sorbet. They also had a festive cocktail menu, but I opted for wine instead. Portions felt a bit small for the price, and since Bottagra does lean on the pricey side, I was hoping for a little more value. Parking note: they offer valet on weekends, which is good to know. Overall, Bottagra is more about the ambiance and holiday experience than the food for me. While it's not somewhere I'd go frequently due to the price point, I'd happily make it a once-a-year tradition to enjoy the decorations. If you love festive vibes and Italian spots with personality, it's worth checking out--especially during the holidays.

OUTSTANDING!!! If…read moreyou like authentic Italian food and not the sauce heavy oil laden foods most local places make then try this place!!! We grabbed a table on a Saturday night we were immediately impressed by the amazing smells upon entering . I spent my summers in Italy growing up and this place took me back . Our wonderful waitress and over and left some bread and oil while we looked at the menu. We agreed upon the califlower as an app . Hubby had the eggplant parm and I did the pasta with shrimp and broccoli . We also got a side of broccoli rabe, the meals also came with a nice side salad . The portions are a realistic smaller size and delicious. Unbelievably so! Fresh and great quality olive oil is used you can taste the difference. We were going to splurge and get dessert but they only had chocolate cake or ice cream so we declined . It is a byob. We honestly already said we will be going again next week! Please do yourself a favor and visit!

The service was lovely--our waiter was kind, attentive, and made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal. We started with the fried artichoke hearts (a must!), burrata, calamari, mozzarella sticks, and the zucchini and eggplant chips--LORDY, those were insanely good. Every appetizer was better than the last. The main dishes were just as impressive. The chicken parm was crispy and flavorful, the gnocchi was melt-in-your-mouth perfect, and the sole francese was delicate and delicious. We were passing plates around the table because no one could decide which dish was their favorite! It's BYOB, which made it feel even more relaxed and special. Total hidden gem--we'll definitely be back!!!!
