Sooo good. Be ready to eat and come here hungry! The Sandwhiches are huge. Street parking around the area and 2 tables to sit outside. Plenty of chairs indoors. I will recommend
This is a small place with some seating inside and outside, and there is street parking. I called and placed my order (it was very thorough and efficient!) Even though I was told my pick up order would be ready in 20 minutes, it was ready much earlier (thank you!!) I ordered: - Jiu Jitsu Steak sandwich: 10/10 - the meat was very tasty and tender. I wish I could buy a jar of their Chimichurri sauce. - Spanish Pig in Italy sandwich: 100/10 lol - it looks overwhelming, but everything just comes together really well. And, the sautéed broccoli rabe cuts the richness. This was the star of the meal. - Sweet Potato Tater Tots: 10/10 - I'm not into sweet potato fries, so I was really, really surprised that I actually loved these tater tots. The sandwiches are huge - big enough to get two meals out of each. The bread that they use is phenomenal, and holds up all the ingredients really well.
TO DIE FOR! I just had the Jui Jitsu Sandwich and I am still sitting here speechless. The bread is so fresh, the chimichurri sauce was a little sweet and so good, and the steak!!! The sandwich wasn't too big so it was the perfect size. Quick service and it was an in and out. No pictures because I got it to go and ate it in the car but I cannot wait to go back!!
Pretty good sandwich shop in north jersey. The place doesn't really have a good parking situation. I circled a bit to find a parallel parking spot. The service here was pretty quick. We ordered online and it was ready to pick up almost immediately. We ended up splitting two different sandwiches- Jiu Jitsu Sandwich and Holy Cow. I really liked the bread on the Jiu Jitsu sandwich and the house made chimichurri. I really liked how lemony the chimichurri tasted. The meat on the Jiu Jitsu sandwich was way better than the Holy Cow. The Holy Cow did have a good homemade chipotle sauce with jalapeno but that was about it.
Was hungry after enjoying a spa day. For a sandwich shop, it was surprisingly good. Ordered online and they made it quickly and timely. The staff were friendly and explained how'd they laid out the meal. The restaurant is quite small but was packed on a Wednesday afternoon. Luckily , we found some outdoor seating to enjoy the weather and the meal. Ordered the jiu jitsu steak and the holy cow. They were both succulent and delicious. The side of chimichurra went well with jiu jitsu. The sauce spread in the holy cow was fantastic! Would come again

Oh my goodness, Sandwichitos! First off, North Bergen --- public parking SUCKS. It's funny: I despaired showing up at the business, seeing the limited parking, but when I was in front of the restaurant, another gentleman was there and said "just park there" --- ???? ---- turned out to be the owner! I got parking right in the front. These sandwiches have been on my feed for a long time, and each video I see they all look so amazing. I had to go with the moost-popular: the Jiu Jitsu Sandwich ($18.5). This sandwich has --- lemme see: "Thinly Sliced Steak Seasoned In Homemade Chimichurri With Caramelized Onions Topped With Extra Chimichurri". I MEAN. This was a grown-up, bougie, international millennial sandwich of the 2020's. This hit and THEN SOME. Totally recommend. To accompany, I ordered some tater-tots; nothing to write home about, but they complimented the sandwich very well. I am a sucker for a good steak + chimichurri combo, and this sandwich hit.the.spot. The inside of the restaurant is decent. Luckily, I ate at the window-side, but since it is a very popular business (from what I can tell), seating is very limited. It's a very limited space; I do see many people picking up "to-go orders". However, if you get the chance to dine-in...DO IT. Nothing will beat the freshness of the first bite of that Jiu Jitsu Sandwich. Overall, 5/5. This place has deserved the HYPE and the ATTENTION!
The hype i've heard for this place was real af, so I had to come see the place and find out for myself. The joint is small but welcoming, with people coming here just to grab a bite and chill. The menu is small but offers a variety of different sandwiches to choose from, and also tater tots for some reason. Cuban Sandwich 7.1/10 - When i first unwrapped this bad boy I noticed immediately how much cheese was filled inside, which really got me going. The cheese was pretty solid too if i do say so myself. The ham was juicy and savory and so was the roast beef. You could really taste the flavor of the swiss. However, once the sandwich started to cool off a bit, I started getting hella dry bites. The cheese was also starting to lose its flavor as well. Pickles held on strong tho. Mustard was mustardy, pretty standard. The bread was also not bad. Would I get this again? I guess we'll never know... Red Machine 7.9/10 - I assumed this was a typical chicken marinara sandwich, and it pretty much was. The peppers to my surprise worked really well with the chicken and sauce. The sauce was lowkey carrying a lot of the flavors, the chicken was good but not the star of the show. This sandwich had a better cheese pull (and better cheese than the cuban toast well), and the flavor held up better here as it got colder. Overall 7/10 - The sandwiches itself were not bad, but with how much I've heard online about this place, I really was expecting more (my pants are still dry).
After hearing so many good things and passing by this place so often, I finally stopped in and gave it a try. I was instantly greeted by the staff who were warm and so enthusiast about the menu, I wanted to try everything! Lol I ended up getting their Jiu Jitsu Steak sandwich and regular tater tots. Disclaimer: I did get my sandwich to go and once I got home, the sandwich and tater tots were lukewarm but the flavors and freshness of the ingredients were spot on. They provided me the extra chimchurri sauce on the side since I got it to go. The steak was tender but I will say, the sandwich was surprisingly on the sweeter side. Interested in trying other sandwiches. The place is more on the smaller side but there are a few tables and bar stools to sit at. Would recommend eating in!
Stopped by Sandwichitos and tried both the Cuban and the Steak Sandwich. The flavors were definitely there, but the execution was a bit mixed. On the Steak Sandwich, the grease from the meat and chimichurri soaked into the bread, which made it soggy and took away from the experience. The chimichurri itself was a little overpowering, and I found myself wishing the steak came with some kind of cheese to help balance things out. For what you get, the sandwiches do feel a bit overpriced. On the positive side, the Cuban Sandwich was a hit. All the ingredients worked well together, and the pork was flavorful without being dry or greasy--definitely the standout of the meal. The restaurant itself has both indoor and outdoor seating, and the space is clean and well kept. Despite a few drawbacks, I'd come back to try another sandwich and see what else they have to offer.
I was finally in the area and able to try this place after seeing it for over a year on Instagram. I didn't expect it to be so small and it was completely packed even though it was Valentine's Day. The guy at the register , who I can only assume was the owner helped was very nice and helpful. He helped me pick out my sandwich and let me know it would be about 15mins, With a packed house and lots of to go orders. I asked for my food in a tray so I could take pictures. But then wrapped it up and took it to eat in my car to do an Instagram video as well. I really like that they did thin steak , so it was easy to bite into. Chimichurri wasn't overpowering and the caramelized Innis l onions were a nice touch. I see, I do share the same opinion with some others on here about the steak being a little sweet.I feel like maybe it was a teriyaki marinade? Not sure. It wasn't bad but I would have preferred the sweetness not being there. I'm not in the area often , but if I was, I would go back to try some other options. And definitely one of their fruit shake since they aren't made with milk, it's a perfect option for me

These sandwiches were gigantic, well crafted and delicious. I would come back here right now if it was closer. There is so much to try on the menu and I also want to try their tots. Worth the trek and meets the hype.
Had the jiu jitsu steak after having been at the spa and it was tasty! The homemade chimichurri had good flavor which made the sandwich even better. The steak seemed to lack some flavor unless it had the sauce but can't complain too much. The tots were also good along with the homemade chipotle sauce which had a spicy kick. Service was great the lady behind the register was friendly and patient. Ambiance seems more like a quick place to stop by and get a bite. Would come back to try other sandwiches !

It was topped with shredded beef, jalapeños, caramelized onions, and drizzled in spicy chipotle sauce. Everything was perfectly heated and seasoned. The bread was perfectly toasted and it had a nice crunch. The indoor seating in the dining area is kind of tight, but the owner is expanding their location. They are planning to move the sandwich shop to a larger building next door. Referencing small, bite-sized finger sandwiches, or "little sandwiches," served as a party appetizer, we decided to stop at this off-the-beaten-path establishment on Old River Road in Edgewater for dinner. Upon entering as first-timers to Sandwichitos, we were greeted by one of the owners inside with a cozy, laid-back, and welcoming vibe with Instagram energy. We managed to get one of five tables inside for about 12 patrons with an open kitchen and two tables outside, weather permitting. Soon they'll be expanding to a much larger place. The menu wasn't huge and featured various sandwiches with the collision of Dominican and Italian cuisines. We decided on the Red Machine, Jiu-Jitsu Steak, where the meat is marinated for 2 days, Cheesy Bird, French Cuban, Regular and Sweet Potato Tots. Some of us have gotten the freshly made fruit shakes to wash down our meal. We sampled the various ordered sandwiches and found every bite was incredibly flavorful. Each dish was well seasoned and perfectly balanced without being overpowering. The meal was somewhat pricey, but one could easily split it between two people or another meal. Service moves quickly. The staff were warm and welcoming. We had an excellent dining experience. read more
Parking is street which is definitely limited but luckily I was able to park and run in and grab sandwiches to go Staff is really pleasant when I was there Exprect to spend $20 for your sandwiche but it's enormous. The ju jit su was my 1st one I wanted to try - and it was pretty good . The only thing that would have made it better is if the chinmichuri wasn't on the sweet side - but that is just my personal preference . I also tried the cheesy bird and the Philly special . The Philly has been my favorite . There are a few others I would like to try like the holy cow and the Milanese. I'll definitely be back. Worth the trip for me read more

Having this place so close to my home is dangerous!! I dilated the visit to this place on purpose for a long time because I had a feeling that it was going to be good and I was gonna get obsessed. I was totally right! This sandwiches are on another level. The baguette bread gets this perfect buttery toast on the outside that you can hear the cracking in every bite. I ordered the Cuban sandwich with sweet potato tater tots and my husband picked the Jiu-Jitsu Steak. Both incredible tasty. I don't know how they prepare de meat but I was impressed by the quality, tender, soft and flavorful. Also, the size of the sandwich is big. It's true that each sandwich costs around $20 e.a which is high for a casual food place, but to me is worth it! Service was great. Welcoming and helpful staff. read more

If I could give more stars, I would! The sandwiches at Sandwichitos are absolutely amazing. The first thing you notice is the bread. It's perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and holds everything together without getting soggy. Every single bite is bursting with flavor, layered so well that you can taste every ingredient without one overpowering the other. Oh. My. God. These sandwiches are next level! I already can't wait to go back because I want to try every single one on the menu. If you're a sandwich lover (or honestly, even if you're not), this place is a must. And you're the boss of your sandwich. There are modifications for each palate. They really take service to the next level. We sat outside and the aroma of the flavors just compliments the art we just devoured. read more
Ok, let's start with the good. Metered parking-pay with phone and/or app. Outside and inside seating, it was raining so I opted for indoors. I had the tres golpes, sweet potato tater tots, pineapple shake and a tres leches dessert. $40 total The tres golpes sandwich lacked salt, flavor, and some type of sauce. I wish they had or offered a mayo-ketchup. I asked for some ketchup but that still didn't make it appealing to me. The tater tots were basic, again nothing special. The pineapple juice was just ok, water based. The tres leches was nothing special either. I'm sad that it's not as good as I imagined and what people hype it up to be. read more

I got the jiu-jitsu sandwich and shared with my mom because they are pretty decent size. I liked it but the sandwich comes with extra chimichurri and i think for me personally it's too much. I would still return and try something else because it was good just a lot for me. Service was great they were really sweet. The ambiance is cute it's a little spot but still nice vibes. read more

Holy wow! Now this is a sandwich spot and everyone knows. At some point there was a line out the door and an hour wait, but it moves and it's worth the wait. Also note that there is a way to preorder online AND to order on the computer at the front. Everything is made fresh, clearly from the wait. The bread is everything in a sandwich and this place delivers. All the sandwiches we got were beyond delicious! The staff were all great and gave folks a heads up when the wait increased. read more

Walk In and there music playing good vibes very colorful and inviting. Cashier took my order she was very nice gave me some inside tip on what to order? Well are sandwich's was amazing check out the pictures. The. Jin jitsu steak is something I never eat before pressed like a Cuban sandwich with house made chimichurri with caramelized onions Cuban was all so very good and we got a side of tater tots don't forget get sausce on the side have fun with them !!!!! read more

had so much hope for this sandwich. But it was literally awful. The chimichuri sauce was horrible. The steak tasted like it had sugar added to it!! Who was sugary steak eww. The dirty south.. was ok.. Just ok.. nothing great about it. Now highlights of the whole meal was the sweet potato tots.. those with the Chipotle sauce... awesome. I really had so much hope for this place. read more

The shop is small but full of flavor. The staff were friendly clean and accommodating. Spanish people in the kitchen is always a great sign of good food. My chicken was breaded and fried to perfection! Reminded me of how my mom makes chicken .the sandwiches are HUGE so you better bring three stomachs with you. The tater tots were fresh and their sauces were delicious! Definitely going back anytime I'm in jersey. read more

We found out about Sandwichitos through Instagram! The videos of stretchy cheese worked to get us to drive out of our way to give these sandwiches a try, and they didn't disappoint! The Philly cheesesteak was very delicious as expected and is a very reliable option if you want a sure thing. My son enjoyed it, but I'd prefer to choose a different cheese if we ordered it again. The Spanish pig in Italy & the Jiu Jitsu steak sandwich were both very good, the meat was cooked perfectly, the bread was great, etc, but we both wanted to add a little heat. We asked for hot sauce and were instead given fresh grilled jalapeños & a cup of Chipotle mayo and WOW, just what they both needed. If you like things spicier, please take my advice and ask for them to throw some grilled jalapeños and/or chipotle mayo onto your sandwich. None of us ended up finishing but they all reheated well for a breakfast of champions the next morning. We'll definitely be back! read more

10/10. I can see why this sandwich spot went viral. Where do I start. The sandwiches is exactly what you want from comfort food. From the bread, meat to the sauce it all complimented each other so well. And the grilled cheese!!!! Just order it! You will not be disappointed. This is was a hefty sandwich, I could only finish half of what I ordered which left me nicely full. Not feeling overly full or feeling like a slug afterwards. I was full and belly happy! Sorry I went on and on about the sandwiches lol Service was great, didn't have to wait long for my order and it was chill cozy spot. Can't wait to go back and try the Jiu Jitsu! read more

I wish I took a picture of the sandwiches but they were too good to wait! We stopped by here for lunch to go - ordered the DR 3 Hit, Chimichurri & French Cuban. The DR was my favorite - such an original! I grabbed a Tres Leches dessert with me to go as well. For drinks, we ordered 2 fruitshakes - passionfruit and mango. Just YUM! read more

First time here after seeing it go viral so many times I had to try it. The food was great however I'm glad I asked about what it might taste like prior to ordering it because I was not expecting the sweetness of the jujutsu steak if I knew it was sweet I probably would've ordered something else, but I had to try it. The chimichurri was flavorful. Can't wait to come back so I can try more things on the menu. Great service as well Small location but I see that they can grow. read more
