While meandering around our local neighborhood, my husband and I stumbled upon this tiny diner and gave it a try. We're so glad we did, because this hole in the wall turned out to be a diamond in the rough. With a nondescript exterior and limited signage, Foodies Diner is easy to miss. It's in an area with mainly houses and mixed use commercial buildings, but the space inside is cozy. I especially appreciated the way the owner greeted everyone who enters and thanked everyone who leaves with notable warmth and small-town friendliness. The menu reads like a true diner - with all-day breakfast and brunch options, as well as standard lunch fare. We ordered a Santa Fe salad and an L.A. burger - which comes with avocado, bacon, onion, lettuce, and tomatoes. The burger was pretty standard, but having it delivered on a warm brioche bun feels a little bit special. The accompanying fries were also great - crisp and potatoey on the inside. The salad, on the other hand, was a near triumph. Served on a large platter, there was a small field of well-seasoned chicken, shredded cheddar, vegetables, avocado, pico de gallo, and - best yet - some pieces of warm, toasted pita. I even sprinkled some pieces of bacon from my burger into this salad, and wow did that take it over the top. I dug into this salad with fair gusto and would absolutely come back for it...which is saying something, since I wouldn't expect to fall in love with a salad at a diner. After years of kicking myself in the ass for not getting here before 3 pm, i finally rolled up for some lunch. 4 stars alone just for the service. As soon as i walked in i was greeted by someone at the counter, seems like the owner or manager, he was incredibly welcoming and friendly. My server was sweet too and paid attention. although i was pleased with my meal, i think i made the wrong choice by getting what i did. i now realize i need to come back and get actual breakfast items because that seems to be the star of the show. however, the lunch specials are a great deal and i was on a bit of a budget. grilled cheese is incredibly simple and nothing to talk about. maybe they can add the option of 2 cheeses maybe add caramelized onions? it was just white bread with 1 slice of cheddar. it hit the spot and was melted fine, but really nothing exciting. the lunch special came with a soup and there were 3 choices this day. the onion soup was absolutely amazing. it was sweet and salty, and veggie friendly! i would get this again. fries were nothing special either. probably could have been cooked more. rice pudding was okay. i think it needed more sweetness or seasoning but it was a nice touch at the end of the meal. ps, all for $14? what a good deal. read more

My partner and I were greeted by the owner, Teddy, upon entering this cozy, modern vibe and got a booth right away by the register. Their menu feeds that diner fix with huge selections for breakfast, lunch, or brunch. We decided on the Cod Filet and Grilled Chicken Navajo accompanied with fries. We were treated with the sample of the Chef-Prepared Rice Pudding. The food was amazingly tasty, made with fresh ingredients and good portions. The fries were crispy and not greasy. The price was reasonable for the area. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and full of energy, especially our server, London. I had a great conversation exchanging notes with Teddy. Decided to come here for a very late brunch on a Sunday. We were the only customers here as it was relatively close to closing time. We were able to sit anywhere and our food came out quickly. The place felt cozy and the menu was quite extensive. I had the Virginia ham with eggs, home fries, and toast. It was okay and wished the ham was thicker. Home fries weren't particularly tasty. The bacon was nice and crispy and not too oily. The monte cristo was okay. I imagine there would've been a bit more enthusiasm for us if we had come in earlier and I don't blame the workers for just wanting to go home haha. If you're close to the area and want solid diner food for a decent price, this is your place. I just wouldn't go out of my way to come here though. Solid diner food and amazing service! We really loved the Foodies Club sandwich, the breaded chicken was so juicy and the breading was really thin. The sandwich overall was really balanced. Also loved the home fries, their smashed potatoes which I thought were unique and special compared to regular cut home fries. Foodies is an amazing place for great food and awesome service. Teddy and Nadine took excellent care of us while visiting their establishment. We ordered my the Chocolate Chip Pancakes, the Foodies Club Sandwich, and the French Toast Deluxe. All three dishes were so delicious. They were all very flavorful. I also orders the Rice Pudding. Another excellent item. The service was great. Nadine was very helpful with her recommendations. Everyone at Foodies were very friendly. The restaurant itself is very warm and inviting. What a great breakfast find! Lovely restaurant with a very cute atmosphere inside. I enjoyed seeing the plate mats having good ol' promotion of businesses. The lady who served us was just a sweetheart. The food was amazingly flavorful. I got the cowboy Benny which is a Benny with ribeye steak, and that steak was properly cooked and juicy. I upgraded my breakfast taters to disco fries as I wanted to try them without buying the whole order and it was totally worth it. Those disco fries were so cheesy and the gravy was so tasty. My husband very much enjoyed his waffle. That waffle was surprisingly huge. They have a very decent breakfast special that includes a coffee, iced coffee or tea if that's your jam. Came by on a Saturday for brunch at around 11. The restaurant isn't that big but it wasn't too packed at that time. To start you off, they give you some complimentary french toast bites. I normally am not a huge fan of french toast, but these were really good. We ordered some disco fries to share because after six years of living in Jersey, I don't think I've ever had disco fries (GASP)! They were good but you have to eat them quickly because they cool off fast, which makes the cheese kind of chunky. For the entree, I had a Philly cheesesteak panini and upgraded to onion rings. The meat was kind of dry, and the bread seemed more like pita bread than panini. The onion rings were great though. Hubby had one of the specials, which was the fruity pebbles pancakes, which we both liked. Overall, it was still a good experience. Not every dish at a diner can be a winner. I like going to different diners, the food is always good and there is a kind of local flavor for most diners in different towns. At Foodies, the food was great, my mom liked it too. I love the Booth style sitting, it had parking in the back. Everything looks so clean and organized, the service was great as well, the waitress was very attentive. The bonus for this Foodies is that if you have children or friends who loves planes, this is an excellent location to eat and watch small places landing nearby at Teterboro Airport maybe? I spoke to the owner/manager who said that this was an homage to a "greasy spoon" joint that he grew up with. You can totally feel that in the menu. It was a good app. Just needed sour cream in my opinion. But overall good. I ordered the bacon omelette which comes with home fries and toast (I told the waitress I didn't want the toast but they served it anyway). We also got the BLT (added breaded chicken and American cheese to make it a chicken BLT...). It comes with French fries which my husband added cheese to it. He said the sandwich was good but he ordered it on a roll and it came out on toast... We ordered breakfast food so it wouldn't take long and never got served our meals after everyone in our group were finished eating there's. We really enjoyed our breakfast at Foodies. The diner is clean and has appealing decor, all around. There is convenient parking, at the rear, which is nicely displayed as you approach. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a very cordial hostesses. The booths are spacious and clean and separated by COVID transparent shields. Our server was one of the best that I've experienced. She immediately told us where the restrooms were situated, that there are very good specials during weekdays, and showed us the chalkboard where they are displayed. At the end of the meal, she gave us a take home menu. Both of our meals were very thoroughly enjoyed and their portions were large. When finished, you pay up front, and are kindly reminded to leave a review. We will definitely return to Foodies and recommend it to everyone. read more

I had a grilled cheese, American cheese, white bread, it was fine. The French fries were cooked well, and the cook added salt to them. That should be the patron's choice, not the cook's. My Dad ordered Panini Reuben, we specifically told the server that the sandwich should be pressed, made with Italian bread (such as ciabatta and michetta), served warm after grilling or toasting. Dad received a cold Pita Reuben. He did not enjoy it that way, and he left the Pita. No harm, no foul, we're not returning food back to the kitchen. If Panini was not available, he should've been told, he would have handled his own substitution with rye bread instead. Therefore, our food expectations were not met. We may try again, maybe breakfast next time. Server was attentive, friendly, informative. She was tipped 37%. Place closes at 3 PM, we were there relatively late in the afternoon, after 1 PM; windows, glass, table, chairs did need a spot cleaning. In addition, they gave us two free little pieces of French toast at the start of the meal, which was a nice little bonus. The place looks a bit small from the outside but there is a decent amount of seating inside. There were only a couple other occupied tables when we went for Saturday brunch. There is also a small parking lot behind the diner. Overall, the food at Foodies is slightly above average, and the friendly service and atmosphere make it special. Found this place on yelp and I saw 5 stars with 100 reviews??? That's really hard to do! The place does look like an old diner on the inside, there is parking in the back, but I could see the spots getting a little tight if there were a lot of people. But inside, it's super cute and got the trendy marquee lights. It's a tiny place inside, but still very cozy and comfortable. So we came on a Sunday afternoon and were seated very quickly. And like the reviews say, you're immediately greeted with the nicest and the most welcoming staff. There are trivia cards on food and drink to have fun with while you wait for your food. I ordered the blueberry pancakes, and my husband ordered the corn beef hash benedict. The blueberry pancakes were soooo gooodd. It rivaled one my favorite pancake spot in NJ. Sat down quickly in a booth and appreciate the lively diner-like ambiance. I don't eat out much for breakfast/brunch typically, but was very satisfied with my breakfast hash. I got the eggs Florentine and it was sweet like they added sugar, the hollandaise was a disgusting broken mess that tasted like it came out of a powdered package, and then I ordered an omelette, after I couldn't eat that, and it was so salty and over cooked I took two bites and left. Went and ate a good meal some where else. Terrible, inedible, gross. I can not tell you enough to avoid this place if you have ever eaten in a good restaurant and have any idea what food is supposed to taste like.
